Since I was hit by a car in 2016 and since 2018I have been coming here for migraine injections. It is prompt, it is professional. And I'm glad it is, here. You're easy check-in and check out. Parking is easy and accessible even for wheelchairs. The only thing is, they need to set back up panels to give you more privacy. When checking in, because you have to say your name, your address, very private personal things that people use to compromise your personal information.
Went again today and those who work at Hearing Health Care Services are kind, friendly, knowledgeable, and the absolutely the best business to help with hearing aids. They genuinely care about every individual who walks in their door.
Our Daughters Salon suites has a group of talented stylists (cosmetology, loctician, natural hair artists for braids, twists, silk presses, etc.) right here in Durham! It’s a hidden gem located on NC-55 (Food Lion shopping Center). Stop by for a consultation, you will not be disappointed.
Ellen is amazing. My kittens absolutely adored her, and she treated them like family. It’s rare to find someone who brings both professionalism and genuine love—Ellen does both effortlessly. She also groomed my Ragdoll cat and even helped with training, which made a noticeable difference. I’m so grateful and would highly recommend her!
Mindspire did a great job matching a tutor to my student who had some learning challenges. His tutor, Chrissy N, did a great job putting him at ease, building his confidence, and tailoring her instruction to his needs. She worked with him over a relatively short period of time, and his ACT composite score came up 6 points between the mock test he took at the beginning of tutoring and his actual test.
KK has her Permit!! Huge shout out to Johnson Driving Academy!! Ms. Pam led KK's online classes on the weekends, her driving classes with Mr. Bullock only took 3 days. KK went straight to the Carrboro DMV and passed on her first try due to their Excellent Training. Highly recommend! 10/10 stars!!

Nicky has been cutting my hair almost two years now, and I am always more than pleased. The cuts look great. She works fast. And her prices are fair. She'll work with you to figure out the style you're going for, and she offers a variety of add-on's like shaves and fades. Can't recommend her highly enough.

I'm not Dr. Friedman's patient. I have met and dealt with him in a different setting. However, I am not a friend or family member. He might come off a bit brusque because his mind is very academic and balancing many things at once. He cares deeply about helping people (especially children) beat cancer. He does his best to compartmentalize the tragedies cancer creates, but his forward scientific thinking has helped save many lives. He doesn't have a God complex. He is human who tries to balance his own friendships and family with a job that requires him to help people navigate uncertain prognosis, experimental treatments, and in some instances a very tragic early death. People are not experiments for Dr. Friedman and he is perhaps more spiritual than even he himself realizes. I think even for the souls he can't save he takes solace in the fact a creator is protecting their soul until such time as they can inherit a new body. There is a warm side to this persnickety fellow but when a person spends their life fighting death on behalf of others they have to become stoic in a certain sense (for their own sanity).
Betsy is one of the kindest, most thoughtful and most competent providers I have had. She never makes me feel rushed and she always treats me like a whole person, getting to know about my actual life so that she has context for my symptoms and she treats me like a partner in my own care. It’s like talking to a friend. She makes me feel so comfortable and cared for.

What really stood out was Nancy’s generosity and hospitality. She made the class extremely accommodating—providing snacks, drinks, and even buying lunch for all of us. I came to this salon because my hair was in desperate need of a fix. I called them to set up the closest appointment they have and they set me up an appointment literally the next day which was very quick and convenient. Britney was my hair stylist, she was the kindest and she did an absolutely amazing job! During the consultation I felt very heard of my hair wants and needs and that made me excited to see how my hair turned out. She was also very helpful and knowledgeable at recommending what could be done to fix my hair! The salon smells wonderful when u walk in and they offer you drinks and snacks right away, as well as the wash station, the chairs lift up so you can lay back and don’t have to awkwardly sit. The pricing is also very reasonable!

Though I don’t live in Durham, I’m happy to make the drive to Fuss & Bother for my haircuts. The atmosphere is nice and cozy and I feel like I can really relax at my hair appointments. Kayla always does an amazing job with my hair and I get a ton of compliments afterwards. There’s a small, free parking lot out front as well as street parking. Overall I highly recommend this salon!

Made an appointment for a last minute birthday trim and was grateful to see that Skye had an opening since I was previously her client at the salon's former location. I remembered how much I loved my cut then, along with how knowledgeable Skye is with all things hair, how friendly she is with sharing that wealth of knowledge, and how how her skills ultimately show for it! I had an unexpected commitment scheduled right after the appointment, and I SO appreciated Skye being accommodating and understanding - literally going turbo speed WITHOUT compromising the quality of the cut, and still being able to chat about my hair, and other non-hair related topics. While Skye surely channeled some additional Leo/fabulous energy for today's birthday cut, what I love the most is that I felt treated the same at my last appointment over four years ago. I had been waiting for years to find a stylist near me who offers head spa services. Janae is very professional and a subject matter expert. You are greeted with tranquility from the time you walk in until the time you leave. An extra perk was getting a full back and leg massage from the machine while laying on the table getting the head spa. My scalp was squeaky clean and I left feeling refreshed. I went to Sunny to get my haircut and it was fantastic slight layer and U-shape. I feel much lighter after my haircut! She introduced me to her friend Sunny where I did my eyelashes perm and microblading! The natural feeling of the eyelashes and the curl was so good and long lasting, totally get my point of no-makeup look. She is very nice and gentle. Good price and worth to try!!

Great place to get a quality haircut. I go to Jason W. He is the best! Nick is a great barber too! Every barber there seems very skilled and I haven’t seen anyone leave dissatisfied. Kid friendly atmosphere and they have very diverse clientele. I would recommend booking an appointment but walk ins are welcome. If you’re from out of town or looking for a new barber for you or your kids, check them out!
Got a cut here a few months back. Ken and the other barbers are super nice and accommodating. The shop was cash only so be prepared for that. Very reasonable price.

Not sure where to start. I haven't visited a hair salon in over 15+years, because I normally do my own thing with my hair, not having much confidence in anyone. However, I needed my hair cut and style, so I started surfing the internet, and came across Black Pearl. The reviews did it for me, so I decided to give Ms Tina a shot at it. I went there with a very open mind, hoping for the best, but at the same time expecting anything. Let me tell you, Ms Tina was amazing in every sense of the word. She was very warm and inviting, very knowledgeable in her field. She works magic with her hands. To say the least I was very impressed the way she handled her skill. What an awesome hair stylist with a great personality. To crown it off she did a lot of teaching, educating me on my hair type and the products that would work best. I received so many compliments on my hair cut from family members, friends and strangers alike. I am so excited, experimenting with different styles and just loving it all the way. I recently moved to Durham and knew that I needed a new hairstylist. I found Tiffany at the recommendation of a family member. We had an initial consultation to discuss my hair concerns and Tiffany was very attentive and knowledgeable. I'm leery about who I allow to do my hair but I had a feeling she was someone I'd be able to trust with my crown and I was right. My hair had been through some changes and while it wasn't majorly damaged, it was in need of some TLC and Tiffany provided that. She took the time to listen to my concerns and desires but also offered suggestions based on her expertise. Within 3 months of going every other week, I noticed a vast improvement in both the condition as well as the length of my hair. I came to her relaxed but I expressed that I eventually want to get blonde streaks so she is putting me on a plan to safely transition my hair from relaxed to natural and black to blonde. I am so glad that I found Tiffany. She is easy to talk to and knows her stuff when it comes to hair. Her shop is clean and well decorated and has a welcoming atmosphere. I recently attended an event at Studio Motif. Ms. Still was an awesome host. Her space was everything I needed and more. There were activities for everyone, from toddlers to older adults. This is definitely a hidden gem in Durham. I will definitely book this space again.

I do not believe in coincidences called & amazing girl Britney was super & helpful. Man. This was just the best experience I have ever had. Even though this was my first tattoo, I have been into multiple tattoo shops (for piercings, which they do not do, which is perfectly fine), and this was the BEST environment I have ever been in. I usually find tattoo shops can be abrasive and kind of scary (I am a newbie so this is probably just me), but Kings Ave was the opposite. Knowing it was my first, they offered me coffee, water, and multiple breaks. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. Logan, my artist, did a CLEAN job. I have gotten SO many compliments on my tattoo from random people and friends, and I have only had it for three days. There were other artists there also, and they were great too. I plan on getting my whole leg done and will NOT go anywhere else. 10/10.Requested style: American Traditional
Alexis was very easy to work with. I like the work but for what I got was very over priced. Wasn't expecting to spend $130 including tip. It was to expensive for three words and a purple ?. Next time I'll make sure I ask for price first uhh! This was not worth $130. When they see this, I hope they offer me something for over charging me. At least let me get half my money back.
Update: Went back to the shop and was accommodated and was able to touch up my tat and was satisfied with how they handled the issue.

Could not recommend Sacred Mandala enough. I worked with the artist Alan Lott and he did an incredible job. He was extremely easy to work with and to bounce ideas off of. More people that I expected have asked where I got it done and who the artist was. Alan is a master at sacred geometry.

My recent experience with Rufus and Champion Plumbing was positive in all regards. My initial call was answered quickly and an appointment was arranged for later that day. As requested, Rufus contacted me to give me an ETA. He listened attentively to my explanation of our clog problem. We had ongoing clog issues with a hard obstruction 15 feet into our line. I had worked on it and partially removed the clog, as had another plumber. Rufus communicated my expected charges ahead of time, and then fixed our problem in short order with a machine driven snake tool. When done he showed me a wad of string that was embedded in the clog, so I am confident that the problem has been fixed. Thank you Rufus and Champion Plumbing!
They found an opening in their schedule and got our box and drain field complete in two days. Came out prior to the job inspected the site and made us feel great about proceeding with them. They delivered on time and really helped work around fencing and site conditions. Couldn’t say enough good things about the responsiveness, flexibility, urgency and quality of work. I was having issues with my EV charger repeatedly tripping the breaker. Green Volt responded promptly, diagnosed the problem, and quickly replaced the faulty equipment. Their work was excellent, and I highly recommend them.
We recently had several electrical projects completed by Michael and his team including running installing higher amp outlets in office, replacing flood lights, fixing a ceiling fan, and some. They did a great job and we were completely satisfied with their work. We will definitely be using them in the future for other electrical projects.
Omar has been nothing but spectacular in his service. I was assisting my elderly Dad with his downsizing move to a new location and Omar took down his Level 2 EV charger at his old house and installed it at his now home, in addition to running electrical to the back corner and front corner of the house for his Ring Floodlight Cameras and adding two outlets for wall mounted tv's. My Dad also had a couple more issues and Omar came back and put an LED light and switch in his pantry, and installed a Dedicated 20 Amp Breaker and outlet in his Primary Bedroom for his ceramic heater so it wouldn't trip the 15 Amp Breaker that powers that room. Level Up is definitely the way to go. He also has tools that will save you from having to have drywall work done in the right conditions. Five stars all the way!
I used MSS -Ortiz services when I had a new Pool pump installed. State and County requirements required an Electrician pull permits and install the new pump to ensure it was properly wired and grounded. MSA was extremely helpful and responsive to my concerns. The main issue I had was with the County's red tape and the week delay in issuing the permit after MSS had requested it the same day I hired them. Matt came out to the site originally to look at the project the same day I called him. He was also on site to ensure the County's Inspectors concerns were addressed immediately. I would definitely use their services again.
We have used A&S on several occasions through the years and always get timely, courteous and well done repairs. I can recall oven, microwave and now gas dryer service. All has gone well and we will definitely use again if necessary.

T&C responded promptly to a pressing need to repair our failing refrigerator. On Thursday Terry diagnosed the problem; on Friday the office staff ordered the part; and on Sunday they called to schedule the service on Monday. The service was completed and the refrigerator restored to working order, and Terry even adjusted the door so it was properly aligned. I'm very happy with the result.
Mr. Stewart, the company's president stepped out of his office as I was awaiting someone to speak with about a part for my new oven no tech was able to locate. Frustrated and w/o an oven for 7 weeks, I asked if he might have ideas, even though I never bought anything from this store. This friendly man expressed concern, and went out of his way to track down a supplier with his national connections. I had the part in a week. Next time I shop for an appliance, this is where I will do business. This was just an act of goodwill, for which he had no reason to go out of his way.

Murcia's Roofing Company did an excellent job. They put a new shingle roof on my house, were meticulous, and used good quality materials. They also put a rubber roof on my addition and did a terrific job on that roof as well.

I had already gotten several bids but went with Crawlspace Doctor with confidence - and they did a terrific job. (It didn't hurt that their pricing was great, too!). When a seam separated a few years later they came and took care of it without issue - they stand behind their work! I recommend them with no reservations.

The staff at Sands and Soils, from my first contact requesting a mulch plus delivery quote to the delivery just accomplished, have treated me with good will, courtesy, professionalism, and skill. The phone contact person was knowledgeable and clear from start to finish, even keeping me apprised of the delivery progress; the cost of the mulch and delivery was more affordable than any I have found elsewhere; the driver was able and willing to drop the product on the very spot I'd prepared for it; and the mulch itself is exactly as described and smells rich and earthy clean. I look forward to working through the pile and going back for more.

Prior to Dr. Henry taking over the practice, I was seeing Dr. Clifton for my dental needs. I have been seeing Dr. Henry for a few weeks now for a number of dental issues.
Late last Thursday, May 21, 2026, I had a tooth crack in two places, causing me major discomfort. I called the office (which was closed), and was provided a number in which to contact Dr. Henry.
Dr. Henry called me back the following morning, and given the office was closed for the holiday weekend, said he would try to contact an assistant to come in and see what they could do.
Later that evening, I got a call that Dr. Henry and MaryAnn, the assistant, would be able to see me at 8 a.m. Saturday morning.
Within a half hour, my needs were taken care of.
If you are looking for a dental practice that cares about their patients, look no further than Dr. Henry.

Dr. Matthews really cares and takes time to listen and won't walk out until you are completely happy. The hygienist is so thorough and gives a deep cleaning which I felt cheated out of at my last dental practice. Dr. Matthews makes sure to come in even Im just getting a cleaning to check my teeth and always allows me to come into another room if I want to have him look at something. Top notch, no amateur work. Cleanliness is most import and they are meticulous.
The hygienists, Dr. Nunes, and Dr. Pithan are so professional, thorough, and make me feel comfortable about going to the dentist. The front desk staff is also so knowledgeable and was more than willing to help me resolve insurance issues as an out of network patient. The best team ever, highly recommend!

I was involved in an accident and had an evaluation done on my first visit,and a scheduled treatment plan for me, within a week I was able to do somewhat of my normal activities treatment when on for about 4 months and I am extremely happy with results can’t say enough but good things about my experience.

Well. What can I see as a new patient? Customer service - Check , a welcoming atmosphere, Check - , one in which I feel at home - , Being able to speak with the doctor comfort - Check - Need to feel as if I was important and that what I was going through mattered them - Check, - Halloween God to work through them to minister to others who are not as financially Fortunate, so that I could at least establish my care with financial ease - Check. I only really have two complaints:
1. Dearly, dearly, dearly, times seven wish they were in network. In this way, make his could be more properly and consistently addressed more than just once a week.
2. I understand that my case will require being worked on in stages, and I humbly accept that. However, at the moment, the Doctor address the most painful part to my issue first. I so totally appreciated that. I tell you, I have been so used to the pain for years, but going without pain felt strange. Now the challenge is that the left side of my next kept protesting against the right side that got the needed attention. I hope that means someone smile or laugh even That’s what it felt like to me. Dear, looking forward to my next visit. It has been my earnest prayer, that my financial Status will greatly increase so that I am able to comfortably afford seeing the doctor twice per week. At least, could be more but at least twice. For those who are able to comfortably afford an out of network chiropractor, I highly recommend him. Animal Chiropractic Care Provided to our Cat by Dr. Valentina Degiovanni
My wife and I are writing to express our profound gratitude for the exceptional animal chiropractic care provided by Valentina Degiovanni, DC, to our 17-year-old cat since 2022. At that time, our cat was suffering from painful, age-related arthritis and an acute left hind leg injury, which resulted in limping, significant restricted movements, a frequently blocked hip, and considerable pain and distress.
After exploring all available veterinary options, we were informed that amputation was the only remaining solution. This option would have severely diminished our cat’s quality of life and life expectancy. In our search for alternatives, we discovered Dr. Valentina Degiovanni, and were impressed by her qualifications, as she is certified by the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association.
Dr. Degiovanni’s expertise in animal chiropractic care and her acumen in animal anatomy and physiology were immediately evident, as she was able to accurately identify the skeletal misalignment and injury affecting our cat. Through her gentle and precise adjustments, she provided immediate pain relief and significantly improved our cat’s mobility. Remarkably, our cat was soon able to walk two miles a day once again, which he had been unable to do since his injury.
While our cat continues to receive all his previous, traditional veterinary care, the regular chiropractic adjustments administered by Dr. Degiovanni have been instrumental in restoring and maintaining his optimal quality of life. Now at 17 years old, our cat remains active and vibrant, a testament to the competent and efficient care provided by Dr. Degiovanni. With regular chiropractic adjustments by Dr. Degiovanni, our cat is able to travel with us by plane on our multiple trips to Europe every year and can easily be transported in his kennel under our seat on the plane on a 10-hour flight without any discomfort or pain.
We are immensely grateful for Dr. Degiovanni’s dedication and skill, which have truly given our cat a new lease on life. In addition, Dr. Degiovanni is always pleasant and smiling, which allows our cat to feel comfortable in the office.

A few months ago I injured my arm and my neck, and it was causing me a tremendous amount of pain. It made life very hard for me. I began to come to South Square Chiropractic for treatments. Very soon after I began, I noticed pain in certain parts of my neck or arms went away. I have continued to receiving treatments and my pain has almost entirely gone away. The staff there is incredible and very welcoming. I’m very happy that I went to see Dr. Palumbo, my body is thanking me as well.

She was incredibly thorough during x rays & took the time to explain all that she saw & her recommended approach. I've been seeing Dr. Courtney Dice for three months. I love visiting the office. The space is welcoming and relaxing. Courtney is knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. Under her care, I have released physical and energetic blockages I have carried since childhood, particularly in my hip. I feel more relaxed, balanced and clear energenically after a session with her. She has a gentle, subtle, and multi-dimensional effective technique which is unlike any other chiropractic I have experienced. I highly recommend this practice.
Update: I just want to say that I have been receiving care since October 2025 with Dr. Arafat And I just got done with another appointment 05/28/2026 and he is very knowledgeable, Considerate and willing to listen to all of your problems and needs. He is a psychiatrist that I feel really cares about his patients and what they are going through. I am so glad that we crossed paths. I feel safe trusting his recommendations. 10/30/2025 I have searched for so many years to find exactly what I was looking for in a psychiatrist because I am very funny about taking random medications, Especially from psychiatrist that don’t want to hear what you’re saying or take into consideration how well you know your body and just put you on any type of meditation. This is my go to recommendation for mental health. They had me scheduled the same week I was referred. They have been life changing for me by treating my ADHD instead of doubling up on antidepressants I didn't need. Great for my anxiety since I can do video visits anywhere in the state.
I took Wanda and Cozmo in for their 1st puppy shots and it was a very smooth interaction. The staff was super kind and patient with these two little rascals.
The primary reason I chose Parkwood for my pet was based off the excellent reviews long term and even new patients left for this establishment. We’ve been going to Parkwood now I would say for over a year and we have received nothing but the best care for my pup. Times where my dog has worried me, we’ve called and they don’t just automatically say “bring her in” they make honest recommendations before they just take your money like other vets. They are also reasonably priced and they really value their patients. Thank you to all of the staff at Parkwood for the amazing care you give!
They were wonderful with my dog. They gave him his vaccines and lots of treats and were playful with him so he would relax.
The staff was incredibly gentle and attentive. My pet was calm and comfortable the entire time, and everything was handled without the need for restraint. The vet clearly understands animal behavior and took the time to make sure my pet felt at ease. Highly recommend this clinic for anyone who wants compassionate, low-stress care for their animals.
My two cats and puppy were patients here until we moved to another state this May. We had absolutely nice experience with Dr. Mayer. My cats have mild asthma, my dog has allergies. My puppy also got his neutering surgery here, it also went very well……Now every time my babies need to get vaccinated or are sick, I miss Westside. People here are reliable and very experienced.
This is a wonderful practice and they do the best they can to provide great care.
They have always treated our pets very well. We have had 5 cats and 2 dogs taken care of through Falconbridge. They have a very courteous and professional staff who are very knowledgeable. They have a sister vet (Village Vet) in Chapel Hill.
My dog isn't even afraid of going to see them- if that isn't five stars, I don't know what is.

We recently had a shitzu (Shorkie) come into our family and this was my first visit with Southpoint Animal Hospital. We had a great experience! Dr Elise Hattingh was very thorough explaining everything during the exam. The staff was very professional/helpful and friendly upon arrival. This is a great place that will take great care of your pet.
Dr Golden and RVT Jocelyn compassionately cared for our injured golden doodle’s paw. They were efficient, friendly, and knowledgeable.
They were very patient and understanding with my nephew's cat. She was a farm cat he inherited which had not been to the vet in years. She's a bit temperamental and not used to being handled. The tech and doctor got down on the floor and met the cat where she was comfortable. They gave us advice and medication for future visits. They did not shame us at all for the cat's condition as they know we are doing what we can to get her healthy. She was actually quite comfortable after a few mins. I also brought my dog in and she made new best friends, the treats helped. lol. Caring, and genuine vibe. They explained everything clearly and gave options about care that worked within our budget.
The care we receive here from Dr. Smith is top notch. Our dog is a difficult patient with a complicated medical history, and she is always so patient with him. We recently went through a big health scare with him, and she was wonderful every step of the way. I felt like she was genuinely feeling all of the emotions we were feeling as we made decisions for him, and she was able to get him in at NC State for surgery. She has been a partner in his care and shown true interest in his wellbeing. We continue to travel almost an hour to come to Dr. Smith even after having moved out of Durham because of the level of care our little guy receives.
Cannot say enough about the good folks at New Hope Animal Hospital. We have been coming here for years after a less-than-ideal experience at another local vet, and the people here have never let us down.
We see Dr. Soren, mainly, but have seen others in the past, and couldn't ask for a better clinical team. From the doctors and nurses to the front desk, it is clear the people here love what they do. I have recommended this place to all of my friends and family.
This service is an absolute life-saver for those of us who adopt skittish animals. My two cats are lovely and wonderful members of our family, but they are also the most suspicious cats on that I have ever had.
Getting them a regular vet would be difficult to near impossible. I have always tried to find vets that would make house calls for my cats, because I tend to only adopt the hard to adopt.
I am happy to say that Local Mobile Veterinary Service is excellent. I think we have had 3 different veterinarians from them over the last 3 years and all have been excellent.
The most recent appointment, the meds wore off sooner than I would have liked and our most skittish cat did everything in her power to escape, ultimately ending up under a desk. Without hesitation, so as not to cause the cat any additional stress to our cat, the Veterinarian did the exam under the desk.
Obviously, this was not ideal. We did our best to get her into a bathroom, but she decided to hide in the office. I can honestly say that without the caring folks here, I am not sure I could get her examined without a lot of effort and a lot of drugs.
Having this service available gives my cats excellent care and me piece of mind. I cannot recommend them enough.

We chose the self-wash option because I had extra hands with me, and it was such a great setup. Livy’s provides everything you need, including shampoo, conditioner, towels, dryers, and a clean, easy space to bathe your dogs without making a mess at home. The best part is that they clean everything up afterward.
Whitley went above and beyond by trimming all three doodles’ nails and even giving the kids a sweet little lesson on proper hair drying. It made the whole experience fun, easy, and memorable.

Yoga Off East is an excellent yoga studio in the heart of the American Tobacco Campus in Durham. It’s an absolutely beautiful space in an old, converted tobacco warehouse and I am always pondering the history of the building while relaxing in class. The main yoga studio is just beautiful with its Buddha mural wall, and stunning views of the outside courtyard. YOE is what I would consider a more traditional yoga studio, with its roots firmly in traditional yoga practice as opposed to more modern “workout style” yoga - and I think there is room for both styles so it’s a huge asset we have this. They also have the absolute highest standard of instructors I’ve seen at any yoga studio. Every instructor I’ve had at YOE seems exceptionally talented, both in terms of their ability to develop and demonstrate interesting or challenging movements, their ability to teach and lead a class, and their overall ethos and philosophy. It’s a testimony to this studio that this is the studio I’ve seen the most teachers from other studios attend! I particularly want to call out Shauna’s Sunday afternoon restorative class, which is far and away my favorite restorative and meditative class I’ve ever attended; and Leslie’s Monday night yin classes which can move from gentle relaxations through extremely challenging poses seamlessly. Very highly recommended
I really enjoyed my first class! After years of hot bootcamp style yoga, it was a joy to be in a different, soothing, supportive and gentle environment. I loved the atmosphere and the genuine feeling of community. The studio feels like a boutique. It's pleasing to the eyes and the spirit. I'm new to the area and it's just what I'm looking for!
First time visiting and glad I did. Very nice 75 minute hot practice with Chantale (Bikram 26); I can’t wait to return and take additional classes (vinyasa is also offered). Seems like a great community with friendly students; you get that sense walking in. The practice feels intentional and less “factory yoga” like you tend to find in the boutiques and franchises taking over Durham.
As a tip to new visitors, the space is actually located in the building behind the initial bldg that Google Maps will direct you to. You’ll see a small sign in front. Lots of parking available.
Base Moves is THE place for Pilates in Durham and the Triangle. I’ve been taking classes at Base for just over a year and I have never felt this strong and confident in what my body can do. I was always intimidated to take group fitness classes, but the women at Base have built a safe and supportive community where all skill levels are welcome. The classes are challenging but FUN with great music, motivating instructors, and a true sense of community among class regulars. Classes only have 8 reformers so you receive individualized feedback on your form and personalized encouragement and cheerleading! I highly recommend Stella’s P.E. class, Sarah’s jump board class, and both Stella and Sarah’s mat classes. Taking these classes 2-3 times a week has completely transformed my fitness level and is extremely reasonably priced given their monthly express packages. I’m proud to support this local, woman-owned business over the corporate studios inundating the market!!!
Graham is The Kid!!! Seriously knows his techniques and understand physiology what’s going on. Understands chronic pain and how to find room to increase flexibility. Love the style of Thai on the floor wearing clothes!! Great can’t say enough good things about this biz!!!
Alexander Pilates has been truely amazing. Having relocated here in February, I really needed to find a studio that focused on a more classical practice. The instructors are so thorough and incredibly adept at working through any body issues (my knees!) whilst at the same time pushing me to improve and get stronger.
My overall fitness and strength has increased significantly and I am now able to progress to more challenging levels which I have absolutely loved. Monica and Angeline get a special shout out. The precision they have in cueing and perfecting form are outstanding. Thank you all so much.

Michael is wonderful! After my first appointment my foot pain was gone. He took the time to hear about my pain areas and explained the massage process. This place has a kind, simple vibe, in the best way possible. Everything is mellow in this intimate spot. It's not a big office opening, with fountain, bells, whistles, etc. It's a humble spot with everything you need, for a great massage from an amazing therapist.

One important note, is the complete lack of time theft. If you've received regular massage from other spots (especially chains), they tend to give you 1 hour and 15 minutes (or less) for your 1 hour 30 minute massage. Eating into your massage time, with their cleaning/breaks between customers.
Julio makes sure you receive the relief and time you asked for, when you walked in the door. Sometimes to his detriment. As it's important you feel better when you leave his office.

Julie helped me learn more about my body and how to pay attention in ways that have felt like an important step to staying healthy as I age and handle stress! She listens and is very knowledgeable! Sessions are intense but she quickly adjust when needed! She was able to pinpoint problems and offer immediate improvement! It was truly amazing and I left feeling equipped and hopeful!
John has been tremendously helpful in keeping me healthy as a distance runner over the last year. I’ve struggled post-collegiately to train at a moderate level without getting injured, but over the last year of working with John, I’ve been able to build up my mileage and intensity while staying healthy and feeling the strongest I’ve felt in years. John is great at finding the underlying cause of the issue and treating it via both manual techniques and other physical therapy exercises. I’d recommend John for runners and humans alike, whether you have a specific issue or just want to feel good and stay healthy!

She is incredibly knowledgeable and takes the time to educate you on the process, which makes a big difference when you’re investing in something as personal as hair removal. She walks you through every step so you always know what to expect, and that level of transparency builds real trust.
What I appreciated most is how she prioritizes comfort. She offers numbing options and checks in throughout the session, which makes the experience much more manageable. It never feels rushed or transactional. It feels intentional and client-focused.

My orthopedic doctor recommended The Wellness Station to me as he felt it would make a huge difference in my life. I have been in PT for a few years for some various surgical procedures and they were all good. However, going to the Wellness Station changed my life! I have never had this type of PT, slow and mindful body movements. Well, it works! Jacob is the PT specialist and he is wonderful. He is so reassuring and knowledgeable with a caring attitude that makes you feel comfortable. I started with Jacob in January and over 5 months my back and body feel like a younger me! My experience with physical therapy has been very positive. All of the therapy has been helpful. Aquatic therapy has been productive and less painful. Have cancel some days because pain has hindered ability to prepare and get there. I learned new effective exercises in all PT visits. Therapists were knowledgeable, efficient, courteous and professional.
I visited Jon when I was in severe low back pain from a herniated disc - I could barely walk straight, sit for more than 10 minutes at a time, bend over or sleep for ~5 weeks. As soon as I felt a bit of relief, I started acupuncture with Jon and it made an immediate and huge difference! I am incredibly grateful for the care, compassion, and results! Dr. Ping helped me get pregnant, I just know it! We had been trying for over a year when I went in. After the first appointment I had the heaviest period of my whole life. It was like he unblocked something. We got pregnant the next try! I've referred countless people to him, 2 out of the referrals ( that I know of) have also become pregnant shortly after seeing him. Great place to start if you are becoming frustrated and disheartened.
The combination of acupuncture and cranio sacral work is extremely powerful. Barbara has an amazing gift for being able to feel and release restrictions in the body to provide permanent relief. I had a wonderful experience here. From the start, Andrew was warm, friendly, and easy to talk to, and he took time to explain what he was doing and why. He also gave me helpful resources and things to think about outside of treatment, which I really appreciated.
This was my first experience with motor point acupuncture, and it made a noticeable difference with some ongoing leg issues I’d been dealing with. Between the acupuncture, being more consistent with my home care, and the things we discussed during treatment, I’ve had no relapse of my symptoms and things are feeling really good now.

I must admit my expectations were not high, I was in pain all over all the time, I thought my life was over. After discussing my complicated medical issues, to include migraines and vertigo, Janet asked, which is most problematic now, I answered, she said and next, I answered again and again she said next I laughed, answered and shared that I was a retired software quality engineer and it sounded like I was doing a defect meeting. She laughed and agreed we use this approach at every appointment since. Working with Janet has significantly improved my quality of life, through diverse knowledge of health, wellness advice and practical therapy recommendations and all around personal care. I have never seen a business go above and beyond the way this school does. I have had several issues trying to get my son's permit through his school. Andes Driving School has done everything they can to help me, including mailing multiple documents TWICE! Andes is by far the best driving school in the state.
KK has her Permit!! Huge shout out to Johnson Driving Academy!! Ms. Pam led KK's online classes on the weekends, her driving classes with Mr. Bullock only took 3 days. KK went straight to the Carrboro DMV and passed on her first try due to their Excellent Training. Highly recommend! 10/10 stars!!
