Working with Nobuko has been great! She has been able to pick up on a number of ailments in my body even when I didn't tell her. Nobuko is clearly very knowledgeable about the body and honest about any limits with the treatments. I've been feeling better after working with Nobuko for counterstrain after a short time. Apparently, there are very few providers (outside of DO doctors) that do this work. A plus is that she is also a trained OT, so she brings a really unique perspective to her work. Nobuko is a gem and I highly recommend giving her a try if you're experiencing pain!

I cannot express how amazing my experience with Moon has been: I've been going to her for visceral manipulation following a myomectomy surgery, in which over 2lbs of fibroids were removed from my uterus, and subsequent complications from the surgery that affected my intestines, stomach, and my whole digestive system. After my surgery everything in my abdomen and digestive tract felt off--sharp and "crunchy" is the best way I can describe it. Definitely not how you want your abdomen to feel. After several sessions with Moon over a few months my body feels softer and smoother, I have less discomfort after eating, and I my abdomen feels right again. I wasn't sure what to expect from visceral manipulation but I'm now a true believer. In addition to being a skilled and knowledgeable masseuse Moon is a truly lovely and caring person. She will take good care of you and your body.

Magnolia Music School has been such a wonderful experience for our family. I've been seeing her for about five years, originally after being referred for complementary care alongside my Neurofeedback Therapy (which I also recommend). During that time, she provided the perfect support. Sirena has an incredibly calming, caring, and grounding energy. Whenever I suffer from severe tension headaches, often made worse by sitting at a desk all day, she's my first choice. While massage therapy gave me some relief, it just wasn't enough—so I went to Sirena. I'd arrive with a headache and leave completely pain-free! Her gentle techniques really are remarkable. I absolutely love Joy Beauty & Eyelash! I'm literally obsessed with my lashes. I've lived in three different cities and Joy Beauty has been my all time favorite place for individual lash extensions. I love natural/classic lash looks and Feven (the owner) nails that look for me every visit. She really listens to what you want and also asks if you're satisfied, which I really appreciate. I got a great haircut from Avery! I came to my appointment with a clear sense of what I wanted and a complete inability to effectively describe it, and Avery was able to make it happen. Their prices are super reasonable and we ended up having extra time so they gave me a wash and style at the end of my cut.The space itself is sort of whatever to me, but Avery did a great job giving me a look that worked with my hair texture and the aesthetic I was hoping for, and one that requires, as I want, very little to be done to it in the morning. Would definitely go back next time I am in need of a haircut in Oakland, and have convinced a few of my local friends to try them out!

No frills nail salon, a bit more old school as they dont have the newest/trendiest products but they have regular nail polish + gel + dip + acrylic + gel X. Really enjoyed my gel manicure today and I think they did a solid job. The only man manicurist there was damn quick and shaped my nails to a perfect almond shape. I want that uncle for my next appt! Minus 1 star as I dont think they sterilize their equipment between usage and the UV light machine has no sensor so I had to keep reminding the lady to turn on the light so that my nails can cure.

Found my nail salon home and I can’t believe it’s been nearby where I live this whole time. I’ve gone to Lan I think 3-4 times now for my fills and she hasn’t disappointed me yet and usually I’d pay around $70 for designs at other salons but the prices have been so reasonable! I smile every time I look at my nails and it's the ONE self care item that I can do that stays solid until my next appointment with O. She is booked up MONTHS in advance so be AWARE of this and patient. You want the BEST nail tech, you have to book her in advance and she IS worth the wait. Be sure to tip her for what she is worth also because she really puts her heart and soul into her nail artistry and craft. Thank you O! Her studio is very clean and tucked away inside a series of shops in Montclair. Bathroom is always clean in the back also.

I have been going to Saunders & James for around 6 months, and cannot recommend them enough. They are kind, professional, and the salon is so peaceful. I have gotten standard manicures and pedicures, gel manicures and pedicures, and builder gel manicures, and have been satisfied with each of these services (highly recommend builder gel). I see Indra on a regular basis, she is wonderful.

This was my first visit. Booked through Vagaro to see Ivan. Close parking was a little tricky, but their shop is bright, well lit, very clean, and snazzy. Ivan was quiet, but sweet, and very gentle with my ticklish feet, and I will absolutely book with him again. The scrub he used on my feet and legs smelled divine, and the gel polish is set by the UV machine. No waiting to dry!

All you have to do is show her a pic of what you want and she's got you! If you are in a time constraint no worries, you will be in and out before you know it. The ambiance is very welcoming and professional. I highly recommend this place!
I've been going to Hana for the last 5 times or so. I've tried many lash places and there is no one like Hana. Her work is an art. I got my lashes done again today, and I just feel so beautiful, thanks for Hana. Oh, and Hana is just so sweet, funny, caring and thoughtful. I heard so many amazing things about her place so I decided to try it for the first time and I was very impressed with the ambience, mood, and the professionalism that they exhibited. Her assistant was the one who gave me the facial she was very good explained what I needed to do to continue to have gorgeous skin and I also bought some of their products I will be returning. My skin was glowing when I left there.

I have been a client for a decade and Ana is consistently professional, available, knowledgeable and has a keen devotion to skincare. She is very comfortable evaluating your skin concerns and making reasonable recommendations. Her office is state of the art with IPL, lasers, peels, microneedling and of course B tox and fillers. Just had another IPL series and am aglow, couldn’t recommend more highly!
Kim has saved my skin! I first went to Kim after a friend recommended her and said that she has seen a night and day difference. She showed me her before / after pictures and I couldn't believe it! My acne was at it's worst and after 5 months I now only get occasional breakouts that are very manageable even with all of my ice cream cravings and frequent travel. On top of that, seeing Kim on a regular basis is like visiting and yapping with a friend. I seriously cannot recommend her enough!!!

I’ve been seeing Des for a little over two years now and she is the ONLY person I trust with my Brazilian and face waxes. She’s truly the best- quick, gentle, and meticulous when it comes to tweezing every stray hair. Was visiting Oakland and decided I wanted my eyebrows threaded. Looked up this business and decided to try it out. The entrance to the building was a bit confusing but its a basically several spaces for many businesses. I called the number and was assisted right away. The up-sale was real because I ended up getting a tinted brow as well. Initially I was very pleased with the tint but it lasted maybe a day. Sooo maybe not get that if you want something to last longer. All in all I was very pleased with my experience here. Good customer service, clean space and located conveniently in the city. I would definitely recommend others come here and I could see myself return here as well. Thank you
Shymell is amazing!! I briefly used to go here at their old location on Telegraph above the tattoo parlor and the attention to detail/comfort and customer service has not only stayed true since then, but has gotten even better! The entire place looks and smells like a spa. Symone is so kind and her smile is super contagious. I went to EWC across the st. to start the Brazilian process again because it was cheaper but immediately regretted it. I promise you, the prices here are so worth it considering my sensitive skin always leaves feeling calmed and renewed after my wax- something that is so rare at every other waxing place I've gone to EVER. I've never experienced any skin issue during after care or long after the wax since they only use the cleanest ingredients and their estheticians are really skilled. I booked an extended Brazilian about 4ish months ago and randomly got assigned Shymell and I'm so glad I did. She's super gentle and makes me feel so comfortable which is crucial for this type of wax. It feels like we've known each other for so long! She tracks how my skin/hair are doing and is now very knowledgable about my skin/hair profile after only a handful of sessions. Also love that they kept the art on the ceiling- so empowering! I don't usually write a long review or review at all but felt the need to share how awesome this place and Shymell are.

This massage shop is worth visiting twice! Booking is convenient with no waiting, and the environment is clean and quiet. The therapist first asked about my condition in detail. The pressure during the massage was just right, and all the sore spots were accurately targeted. After the massage, my shoulders and neck instantly stretched out, and even my back felt relaxed. The price is also reasonable, and I’ve already recommended it to my best friend!

I found Tessa Allen to be an excellent esthetician at Vetiver Salon in Oakland. I have thoroughly enjoyed multiple facials with her and left feeling invigorated each time. My skin felt smooth and was glowing for days after each session. Tessa uses amazing natural based products which I liked so much that I now use them at home. She is highly educated in the field and I appreciated the excellent massage that was a part of my facial. I also brought my Mother in for a facial and we both enjoyed the experience! Vetiver also has an amazing selection of products and locally made gifts for sale.
I've been going to Rasheeda at Organic Bliss for years! Only place I'll go for a Brazilian. She's absolutely wonderful, professional, and truly a joy to spend time with! All the rooms are always clean and I'd trust her to wax anything. Always leave feeling lighter!! Support this woman's business, she absolutely deserves it.
I have been looking for a good threading place since moving to Oakland from San Francisco, and finally, I have found it! Rowena, was amazing. She took the time to actually look at the shape of my face to find what eyebrow shape she would give me, it was pain-free, And quick. Also, it was only $18, which is pretty cheap for eyebrow the rating in my opinion. Also, if you go Tuesday through Friday between 10 AM and 2 PM, there is the eyebrow and lip threading special for $25 total. Another thing I love about them is that they do the punchcard. So at your 11th eyebrow threading, you get it free. Great location and even open on Sundays 1030 to 4 PM. They definitely have a new customer in me.

Loved my 60-min therapeutic massage with Kristy. She was truly gifted in helping me relax and feel at ease -- I don't get massages regularly, but everything she did was perfect and I was able to truly let go. She even gave me tips for my piriformis syndrome, and was very gentle and conscientious around my (now discovered to be) rotator cuff injury. I was really impressed with her knowledge and advice on some of these longstanding issues. I also for some reason thought I saw reviews mentioning her (maybe it was Rachael instead? Sorry ) but regardless, Kristy had such a kind and gentle spirit and I would absolutely trust her for any of your bodywork needs!
I just moved to this area and was looking for a nail place closer to home. The service was great and had a very relaxing atmosphere. I got a pedicure and Leena did a great job on my nails. I would definitely come back and recommend their service.

I love Marina at Simply Gorgeous Day Spa! She is so warm and friendly and very client-focused. I’ve bought colonic and wax packages with her, and I couldn’t be happier. They’re very affordable and it’s easy to schedule with her. She’s very accommodating schedule-wise, I usually opt for an evening appointment. The colonic room is clean, always smells great, and it’s nice and warm in there which is great as the machine uses cool water. I always run cold, but the cool water doesn’t bother me probably because the room is nice and warm, and there’s a great heating pad I love using. If I don’t use the heating pad I can do red light therapy, which is great. It’s also very easy to park close by.

Missy Moran Studios is my new go-to place for Hydrafacials. Missy a total pro, gets input on what her clients main concerns are and very communicative on her plan before and while the facial itself. She even offers a light tinted sunscreen to protect your skin afterwards. I will definitely be back soon.

I found O Tattoo on yelp and was drawn to the female owned studio. All the artists' bios with their work made it easy to focus in on whose style was a match for what I wanted done. The studio was bright, clean and relaxed. It felt like going in for a self care day. I had a tattoo by Arie and worked with her by email to narrow down what I was looking for- flowery, flowing fine line piece that incorporated a tattoo I already had. Arie created a few designs that were just as I'd hoped for. I am very pleased. Arie was friendly, professional and gentle. I've already recommended her and O Tattoo to a friend.

I got my first tattoo a week ago and could not be more pleased with the results. It was a father/college-aged-son matching tattoo outing, and Chummy was engaging and thoughtful with both ends of the age spectrum. He is a consummate professional, whose care and attention to hygiene, his clients, and his art are impressive. While I am not sure if I will be getting any more tattoos, if I do, I will be certain to return to Tattoo 13 and look for Chummy.

I love to get tattoos while visiting different towns. My first experience with Old Crow Tattoo was so great that booked an appointment there again when I was traveling through town a year later. Both artists were friendly and did exactly what I was looking for. The ambiance of the space is awesome and very comfortable. All the artists that I interacted with were friendly. Booking an appointment both times was easy and the price was very reasonable. I will definitely book something there again next time I'm in town!

Dee was gentle, professional and conscientious. I had 3 previous piercings that I thought needed to be repierced (because other places have done just that, rammed a needle in anew) but Dee did stretching rather than piercing. She explained that this would cut my healing time down drastically. It also saved me money because she charged the stretching fee instead of a piercing fee. The jewelry selection was also gorgeous, and she created one piece for me to match the other two that wasn’t even in the display case! I highly recommend this clean, professional and highly gorgeous woman for all your piercing needs.

I had Water Leak Detective come out because part of my yard kept staying wet, and I suspected something was wrong with my sprinklers. The technician quickly found an irrigation leak that I never would’ve located on my own. They showed me exactly where the break was and explained what needed to be done to fix it. Harry Clark Plumbing came out and an estimator gave me an estimate to replace gas my furnace. I compared the price to a couple of other companies on Yelp and their price looked good and they answered my questions. We made an appointment and their team came out and replaced my furnace in just a couple of hours. I got a building inspector myself to come out to give me a permit for the new furnace. The inspector took just a few seconds before signing off on the permit.

OMG! I don’t know what would of happened if Devin didn’t come to our rescue!My coworkers car keys got stolen in Oakland :-(! In one of my projects I felt horrible for him! We always take care of our employees!I soon as I heard this I reached out to a couple lock smith the first one responded really quick and never sent a technician!!! We wasted more than half of day waiting for them!At around noon I found two wheeled locksmith!! Devin didn’t answer my call but texted me right away! I was a bit sketchy at first due to my experience with the first locksmith that I reached to! I constantly kept texting Devin even tho he confirmed multiple times he was going to go help us, I couldn’t help feeling anxious. I even called him but Devin was so patience with me he understood my worry! For the 500th time (lol) he reassure me he was going to go to the site in 20mins and 20mins later my coworker confirmed Devin had arrived!!!Devin ended up replacing the ignition free of charge and took my guy to the store with him to Keep him safe (it was dark already) Devin grow up in that area and was concerned for my guy standing in the street on his own! My heart fills up with happiness thinking of everything Devin did to keep my guy safe!Devin worked until 8pm just to make sure my coworker got home safe!I can’t thank Devin enough for going the extra mile!! I have an area rug that my dog made a mess of. (I won't go into details - you get the idea.) I tried cleaning it myself but could not get rid of the smell or stain. They picked it up, cleaned it and returned it about a week later. It was SO CLEAN AND SOFT. It was $195 but totally worth it. I work full time and cannot get to a reputable carpet cleaner during work hours so the pickup and drop-off was really convenient.

Everything about this experience was great from start to finish. I had unsuccessfully shopped for carpet for over a year. I was struggling with color and pattern choices. I was referred to Dan, the owner, by a friend and he could not have been more helpful. I sent some pictures and explained what I wanted. When I went to the showroom I was shown a couple of options. Thank goodness as the showroom is quite extensive and would have been overwhelming to navigate on my own. Pricing was competitive and the installers were excellent-timely, clean and really hard working. Can’t recommend enough!

Absolutely top notch. The Bay Area is filled with shoddy contractors who take ages to do mediocre or poor work. All Seasons is a bit pricier but is absolutely worth ever penny. They are professional, fast, efficient and do top quality work. My driveway looks incredible and the process (though a bit delayed due to the weather) was seamless and easy. They also did my foundation retaining wall several years back and also did outstanding work. If you want it done right, All seasons is the contractor to go with.
The first and most important point is that Juarez's work is immaculate and beautiful. The worksmanship is truly amazing. In addition, we are not remodeling experts and trusted Job with decisions. He came through with flying colors, suggesting beautiful but cost effective approaches. When we needed help, for example, moving out of the home at the appropriate time, he helped us with everything - packing our things, suggesting places to store them, and then conducting the move. We hired Build Group to take our dirt yard and build corten metal pathways and to build a concrete slab. Fidel walked through with me and gave me a bid after crunching the numbers. We were so impressed with their attention to detail and smart solutions and diligent labor every single day they were here. So happy so far with their work. Anderson Moraes has been the general contractor with me on two new construction residential projects as well as a gut renovation of an existing house. I’m an architect that’s done several projects in east bay and worked with many contractors, often on fairly tight budgets. Anderson is one of the only contractors I’ve hired repeatedly as he’s easy to work with, attentive to details, and I appreciate that not only can he oversee complex projects, but he also has a furniture shop and is able to fabricate items for the interiors. It’s rare to find a contractor that will take on small to mid size residential projects at competitive prices that’s also willing to take on furniture scale interior work.
We reached out to Eric for a quote and he was quick to respond and gave answers to all of my questions. In the end we choose to not use concrete for our driveway project, so we did not hire him and his team. I think they would have done a great job, we just went in a different direction.
Mano, Niko, and Nick are knowledgeable, very thorough, friendly, and conscientious. They redesigned and simplified our over-complicated system (originally designed and installed by others) for much more efficient operation, then later did maintenance service. I wish I had known about them when we first designed the house. Highly recommended!

This company is still on my top list for any work at our church facility located in downtown Oakland. They have done so much including remodeling out church kitchen which looks amazing. I never thought our outdoor spaces could look so beautiful. Ingrid and team overhauled all of our outdoor spaces after a remodel that killed much of our plants and dried out our soil. From the get-go, Ingrid was on top of everything and responsive to this major project. She was excellent at providing a vision, trouble shooting for unexpected problems and providing amazing results. I can’t say there weren’t unforeseen complications at times like with any other project but I found her reasonable and professional. My outdoor spaces speak for themselves from her late autumn work to seeing our first spring bloom.
A man with a vision! Hiring Keith Stover, (Nature's Design), to beautify the front area of my house was an amazing experience. He already works on my mom's garden, which is breathtakingly beautiful, and for my birthday she split the cost with me to have him work his magic at my house. I know very little about such things so I really trusted him and his vision, and I am so grateful. He was very attentive to my tastes and listen to my ideas. He often gave me options to choose which I liked best. Very quickly we were on the same page about all of the little things that would make me happy.
When the first estimate was a little higher than my budget, he pared it down and we focused on the most important areas - and he was still able to make it totally beautiful.
Keith was a pleasure. He has a quiet demeanor. He and his assistant were super respectful and it was clear right away that they really care about doing everything right. He stuck to the schedule, he worked super hard and it was immediately evident that he is someone who is very proud of his work, regardless of the size of the project.
I'm actually saving money so I can hire him again to add some of the things that were outside the scope of last year's project.
They installed an irrigation system and showed me how to program the timer, but honestly I haven't had to touch it. It just works. Everything grew. Everything still looks healthy and gorgeous. It's really the gift that keeps on giving. I'm really proud of my garden, and it really is the result of Keith's vision, Keith's design and Keith's implementation. He's SO GOOD! You should call him and get on his schedule because I imagine he's pretty busy making magic happen :-)

Dental visits usually make me anxious; however, Dr. Solomon and her team have made me feel at ease by frequently checking in with me and my comfort throughout the visit. They are very attentive. I just LOVE this dental office. I was introduced to Dr. Victor Chaney in December of 1979, I have been a patient ever since. My children all grew up with Dr. Chaney. I go in every 6 months. I can’t imagine going anywhere else. Now we have Dr. Alex who joined the practice. What a wonderful addition. Both Dr. Vic and Dr. Alex are so personable and caring. All their work is professionally done with a gentle touch. The patient’s comfort is always their number one concern. All the office members are so friendly and helpful. I recommend this office to everyone.

Before the procedure, I was told that my insurance covers the entire cost of the procedure. However, after the procedure, I was told I need to pay the entire fee since my insurance doesn’t cover it.

My experience here has been great! Everyone is so nice and they always treat me good. Everytime i come i never have to wait super long for them to take me in. They always ask if anything is bothering me. Paulina is a great person she is always checking in on me asking how am i am and asking how my day is going, I really like her a lot, she is always super nice and caring. My first time at Laurel Smile Dentistry. My previous dentist cancelled me three times, and as 2025 ended on 31 December, Laurel Smile Dentistry took me in the same day. They were courteous and kind. I was able to get my teeth cleaned, rescheduled for a crown replacement, and referred to another service to treat an infection growing in the root of the tooth. They use state-of-the-art technology in this industry, and I am grateful to them for keeping my teeth and hygiene secure.

Still the best chiropractic clinic. Dr. Ruch has helped me through two motorcycle accidents--one left me bedridden and unable to walk, until Dr. Ruch adjusted my hips. Seriously-- I couldn't stand up one minute... and the next minute I could. Life changing. Their laser therapy kept my legs working. All the doctors at this clinic are amazing and the staff is equally caring and helpful. They totally work with you to accommodate your needs. I recommend this clinic to every injured person I meet.

I read that chiropractic medicine isn't really real? So I don't go to chiropractors for my back anymore. BUT I love massages, they help me so much. East Bay Chiro has a bunch of great massage therapists on staff. We've tried more than one and we always come out feeling better. The massage therapists all have different styles and approaches, so it's useful to try out more than one of them. They have different locations also, one in Piedmont and one in Montclair. They always ask if you have any particular aches and pains or issues, which is very helpful. You can pay by Venmo or credit card depending on who you get.
All are friendly and knowledgeable. They do everything in their power to accommodate your schedule. The practitioners are always emphatic and understanding...wanting only the very best outcome to get you back to your best physical self. I would highly recommend Active Health Center!
Waltz family is very helpful and attentive, as well as knowledgable and during my regular visits I was listened to and my adjustments always left me feeling better than I came in, and over time I've been able to regain some of my lost mobility and that has helped me a lot on my fitness and health goals. Saw Dr. Ban for my Neck and Back but she improved so much more! Dr. Ban is an incredibly knowledgeable and attentive healer! She gets to know you and the issues that you may have whether you realize them or not. Honestly, I didn't even realize how good my neck could feel until after she worked her magic! Also was fit for a pillow by Dr. Ban, my wife loved it so much she stole it an now need to get another one with Dr. Ban! Highly Recommend her care!

Dr. Matt is the best! He is very nice and you can tell he really cares about helping you. He always knows where it hurts and how to fix it. He keeps great notes and can refer back to recent visits while he’s working on you and has great advice for stretches, etc… He uses ART and is very gentle with your back. I always feel great after seeing him!

Have had an exceptional experience here with the dermatologists. Also the staff, Jessica, Kim, and Lindsey. They're friendly and they really know what they're doing. My doc is Dr. Littman. The staff at Thornhill pet hospital is the best!! Theres something really special about this place. Dr.Yang and Alicia, take great pride in the work that they do. They keep me informed of the care they give to my dogs, and i totally trust their judgement and decisions. They strangely have a special connection with the animals, which makes their care that much better. Ive taken all my dogs to Thornhill pet hospital and wouldnt even consider any other veterinarian.

We recently moved from the East Bay to Marin however I will still take my animals to this vet office. Best most knowledgeable team of veterinarians best front office. Definitely five stars from us. Taking your fur baby for a surgery is never fun. Our Roxy needed TPLO surgery after hurting both back knees. Our Dr. was very genuine when giving us options during the consultation. Also, the staff was very professional and comforting. I hope not to return and if I do, I have the confidence my fur baby will be treated with comfort.

In 2024, Dr. Atid and her team truly saved my cat’s life. An emergency vet misdiagnosed him with a broken jaw and I was facing a heartbreaking decision. I've been taking my dog to Claremont Vet since I adopted him five years ago. He is a pup with a lot of medical issues and health challenges, and has been to Claremont Vet at least a dozen times (maybe even close to two dozen) for both urgent care and regular visits. We've most often seen Dr. MacDonald (who we love) but have seen all the providers at one point or another. The staff are so compassionate, professional, and helpful. The doctors are exceptional with their knowledge, care towards my pup, and their patience with my questions. I always feel like my pup (and myself!) are in excellent hands with the team. And I love that I'm supporting a woman owned small businesses. I've had to take my pup in to ER vets elsewhere a few times and (understanding there's a vet shortage and everyone in the field is worked to the bone), I have always walked away feeling so grateful that Claremont Vet is my primary provider and offers such great care. I could not recommend Claremont Vet more and I will certainly bring future pets here.

Dr. Dorsey and Dr. Hart are the nicest, kindest, most professional veterinarians. They have nursed and helped me through four cats. I love their office staff. They try to get appointments for any of my fur babies, and when one of them passed away, the office gave a donation to a cat illness research. I can't say enough about how much I appreciate all their service and care for my pets. They are so reassuring and when the time comes for… Again, they are empathetic and sympathetic.

Dr. Wright was great and everyone else we interacted with was very nice. This was our first visit with our newly adopted dog who is very fearful after coming from a hoarding situation. Dr. Wright answered all of our questions. Everyone handled him patiently and with good care. I found the pricing/estimate process to be comparable to an independent practice where I currently take my cat. They presented top tier care options and gave me time to ask questions and prioritize.

Left Coast is an absolutely amazing yoga studio! Most classes are warmed to around 82; initially I wasn’t sure if I’d enjoy this but I love it. Instructors are warm and friendly, giving clear cues on how to get into the poses with the right alignment, and without hurting yourself. My favorite teachers at this location are Deb and Malka - Deb teaches slower Alignment Flow and Flow + Restore classes and Malka teaches Power Yoga, which is more of an energetic vinyasa flow. Also love some of the newer teachers, like Zach and Malika. Definitely check it out! They have a great new student special - first month of unlimited classes for $75.
I was attending a conference at the Oakland Convention Center and took Amelia's morning yoga class offered on floor 21 of the Marriott. It was a stunning view and Amelia was a great teacher. I really liked the way she spoke about which move was coming next and I felt very comfortable even as a beginner. Highly recommend hiring her if you have an event.
I have been with Mountain Yoga for a year and I love it! I did a wide sampling of studios from Walnut Creek to Oakland and landed on Mountain Yoga. Basically, it felt most worth my time and money. I learn so many different things from all the teachers that I do not mind driving from Moraga to Oakland 2 to 3 times per week.
I've been having some health issues for about 6 months. Kaiser couldn't have cared less to help me heal. I turned to Dr. Feng, and he was able to diagnose the issue on my first appointment. I started seeing results immediately. Went back for a second appointment. I thought they'd want to see me again but they told me I'd be fine and I could come back if I wanted to. Two sessions with Dr Feng and all my issues have completely disappeared. I am so grateful to him.
Susan Urqhart-Brown is a fine human being and teacher. She has all the great yoga teacher components in place: compassion, knowledge, spirituality, kindness, devotion, and patience. I highly recommend Susan’s Anjori Yoga classes!
Used a class pass at this hot yoga studio with my daughter and enjoyed the class. Be warned that it is hot yoga so not for the feint of heart. The class was 90 minutes long so the extra time made it harder. I admit that during the last 1/2 hour, I was itching to leave. Thankfully that's when the resting poses come in. The heat does add to the workout and heats up your body. I need to get more acclimated to the temp! Lots of fun, I can see why folks enjoy it!
This place is a true treasure of wisdom. I have been doing moment for 30+ years yoga, tai chi, martial arts. Working as a professional and a teacher for 20 of those years. JinSung was showing me things that are fundamental to movement and alignment that I have never seen or heard of. In three class I have had breakthroughs that I didn’t know where possible on a physical and emotional level with relationship to my body and moment. I would also like to add my friend who has no yoga experience and does not work out loved the class as well. Please do your self a solid and take a beginner level 1-2 class with JinSung and come with an open mind and heart and see what happens.

Just love it! Finally an exercise session that I actually enjoy! My back stopped hurting, legs and arms got stronger, stomach looks flatter. I am in my early 50s, and find these session very beneficial. The staff is super knowledgeable, everyone is vetted by the owner and Pilates guru - Holly. The class size is small - five spots. I would definitely recommend.
i LOVE taking pilates from Anya. She tailors each session to my pain points (hips, back, and feet), makes micro-adjustments to maximize each movement, and balances strengthening with stretching. My body feels so much better after each session! She also incorporates massage (if you'd like) and offers meditative/wellness advice (if you ask) - based on your interest. Not to mention, she's lovely to talk to and easy to get along with. And her studio is peaceful with a variety of equipment. I feel very lucky I found her!
This is my favorite pilates studio in the East Bay. Bonnie (the owner), Sarah (my instructor), and all the instructors customize classes based on client needs. I am a lot stronger, more flexible, and my migraine headaches gave improved since working with Sarah. I really appreciate her attention to detail, challenging me to try harder techniques and perfecting what I know, and for all the encouragement she gives me in my daily life.

I recently had a two-hour session with Leyla. I left feeling so much relief and groundedness.
Throughout our session, Leyla shared more insight into why different body parts felt a specific way (tenderness, pain, relief.) Leyla gave me a deeper awareness of my own body/pain/muscle/joint sensations that I hadn't previously been able to describe.

There is a parking lot. I always feel great when I come here. It’s a relaxing feeling inside the room, good relaxing music and the massage is always on point. I like the different services that you can add to the massage to enhance your experience and results. This is my go to place.
Robert is an amazing massage therapist. He listens and adjusts each session as needed. He is thoughtful and highly skilled. He is never rushed and worked through my issues so I felt better after each session. The studio is very clean and makes you feel relaxed.
Another bonus point, I like higher pressure to get into my muscles and he is one of the very few therapists I worked with who is able to sustain that pressure and get deep into those tense muscles. Many other therapists could be too light even after repeated asks to increase the pressure, but he just knows where to go light and where to keep the pressure. Absolutely a keeper and a strong recommendation for massage therapy!

Jess helped treat my a persistent running related tendinopathy successfully after two other practitioners at other clinics failed. Her sessions focus on form an educating you on proper biomechanics so that the exercises you do outside of clinic are done properly. You're not just guided through a workout. She includes a few minutes of massage, too.

On the very strong recommendation of another PT who had moved out of the area, I went to see Steve Ryan for reverse total shoulder replacement post-op physical therapy. Steve is simply the best, most knowledgeable, competent, straightforward, compassionate, patient and organized physical therapist I have ever worked with. The written instructions and (excellent) videos for the prescribed PT exercises are available the day of or 1 day after your appointment. He is very organized and prompt so appointments are always on time. I am 79 years old and very active for my age. Steve guided me through a major glitch in my surgical recovery and I am now fully back to all my physical activities. I'm sure I couldn't have done this without his professional mentorship. Strongly and without hesitation thank and recommend Dr. Stephen Ryan for physical therapy.
I've been coming here for a few years now and live it every time. This was my 1st float experience and it was amazing! I normally do fire and ice which is always a good option but the float experience was nice. Let my skin super smooth! Definitely will be doing this more often.

Srinika’s nutritional analyses and supplements have helped me with many health challenges the past few years. The most dramatic was a painful knee that had been difficult off and on for many years. Several months ago it had become quite painful whenever I went down steps (which I do daily). Srinika recommended avoiding certain foods, and also gave me supplements, which were from good sources. I really thought it was a long shot, but after two weeks I was most pleasantly surprised that the pain was gone! Her techniques allow her to look at a troubling situation; figure out probably causes; and then come up with methods to make things better. And they work! I’ll mention one other challenge… because of my aging eyes, I had difficulty driving at night and didn’t feel it was safe, so avoided night driving. Sometimes my daughter or a friend would pick me up, but mostly I stopped going to evening events and activities. After some deep dives with Srinika into possible causes, as well as taking nutritional supplements, I’m now able to do limited driving at night, for which I am grateful. And I think there’s a good chance that my eyesight will continue to improve!

Acupuncture has been recommended to me by various providers due to my sensitive GI tract. I’m not a fan of needles, so I’ve stayed away. I did a phone consult with Aimee who explained everything to me and made me more open to trying it, and have worked mostly with Dr. Nadia but with Aimee as well. I’m happy to say that my system has settled, and this has opened the door to me using acupuncture to support other health concerns like my lymphedema and inflammation in my feet. Dr Zhang Tong is an incredible acupuncturist. I’ve had acupuncture in the US for over 12 years and he’s easily the best. We’re working on fixing a 20 year knee injury that I’ve had surgery on. For new patients, please trust him and his process and don’t hesitate to provide verbal feedback during sessions as that is key for him to understand what’s hurting and how much pressure to put during the massage portion of the session.

As an athlete and fitness/yoga professional for almost 30 years, acupuncture has always played a crucial role in my recovery, injury prevention, and treatment. I found Ross Acupuncture a little over a year ago, and it has been an absolute game-changer!! Jen is incredibly knowledgeable and has helped relieve countless nagging and acute issues. I have hypermobile ligaments/tendons, flat feet, and I put in between 10-20+ hours of training a week, so I put a TON of wear and tear (and stress!) on my body. I am also super prone to things like plantar fasciitis as a flat-footed runner and Jen has been a lifesaver on more than many occasions when things flare up. She has also been able to get to the root of some of the injuries I've had off and on for a long time. Full transparency: treatment may not be the most comfortable all the time. Sometimes you might not feel it, sometimes it may be rather intense -- especially if you're coming for injury/pain. But, if you're an athlete (or even just active) and want to return to training, it is beyond worth it when your issues are resolved within just a few treatments (or sometimes in one session!) She often does stim on the needles which is my absolute favorite part. I find that this method to yield the best results for me. Tbh, I can't say enough good things about this clinic or Jen! I recommend her to my students and friends when they have issues come up. Side note: I have also done the facial acupuncture with Renee and recommend that as well! That's definitely a much more relaxing experience . If you're looking for an acupuncturist who can really dive deep into whatever aches and pains brought you to inquire about acupuncture, you've found the right place!
Wanda at Kokoro Clinic has been a great source of healing support for me. I’m glad I integrated acupuncture treatment as part of my healing triage. I’ve been receiving network chiropractic entrainments for a few years and acupuncture has helped to promote its healing effects. I’ve experienced significant shifts, and as traumas release there is a period when integration time is critical. Acupuncture treatment with Wanda, who is familiar with network treatment, has been an essential part of integration. Sometimes it takes a few days to feel completely integrated and sometimes longer. Acupuncture has supported that process, often easing the flow of energy through my body and sometimes releasing stuck energy allowing release of trauma to take its full course.
