Our go spot to get our boys their haircuts. We always go to Joanna. When we came in yesterday, she was busy. Makes sense its Thanksgiving week so everyone wants to look nice. She had four people ahead and just told us to come back. She called us saying she was almost done with the last one and to hurry back to get their spots. She is always nice and super helpful. I had Water Leak Detective come out because part of my yard kept staying wet, and I suspected something was wrong with my sprinklers. The technician quickly found an irrigation leak that I never would’ve located on my own. They showed me exactly where the break was and explained what needed to be done to fix it. Super professional, fast, and very knowledgeable. I’m glad I called them.

Kathy has been in business for many many years and i have been a part of it all. Lashes and eyebrows are always done perfectly. Its a very quiet and relaxing place. Even though the crowd can get thick, the experience is always nice. She doesn't make you feel like youre being rushed at all. You even hear a little word of God while you're there. Kathy's work and her work ethic speaks volumes and the prices are still very reason even after all these years. I don't wear lashes very often, but when i do, nobody but Kathy or her daughter can do them for me. Period.

Went for curly cut with Antoinette. I was 10 minutes late (I wouldn't recommend this. If you drive, give yourself ample time to find parking). Place is cozy but you and your stylist have adequate space. Appreciated the "tea room" where you can change, hang your coat, and grab a snack and/or beverage. Cut was phenomenal and Antoinette was efficient but friendly.

I got a great haircut from Avery! I came to my appointment with a clear sense of what I wanted and a complete inability to effectively describe it, and Avery was able to make it happen. Their prices are super reasonable and we ended up having extra time so they gave me a wash and style at the end of my cut.The space itself is sort of whatever to me, but Avery did a great job giving me a look that worked with my hair texture and the aesthetic I was hoping for, and one that requires, as I want, very little to be done to it in the morning. Would definitely go back next time I am in need of a haircut in Oakland, and have convinced a few of my local friends to try them out!
I've always been a regular, Sonia is a 10/10 hairstylist, barber, and person - so much so I've put off getting a haircut if I knew i would be flying back to the bay area sometime soon. The perks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks while you wait) are a great touch.

Was looking for an open late spot to get a haircut with line design after work on a Friday night and discovered this place by chance. I'm glad I did, because this was hands down the cleanest shape up I've gotten since moving to East Bay. Appreciate that they had comfy couches and shots while you wait and hot towels for after. Terry gave me a great cut, and Isaiah did an awesome job on the line design. Prices were very reasonable--$50 for the cut, and an extra $10 for the line design. I've gotten so many complements on the fresh cut around the town today. 10/10 would recommend.

Best pedicure I’ve gotten in a while. The woman was very thorough (I even fell asleep on the chair) and my nails look amazing. This will be my regular shop from now on.
No frills nail salon, a bit more old school as they dont have the newest/trendiest products but they have regular nail polish + gel + dip + acrylic + gel X. Really enjoyed my gel manicure today and I think they did a solid job. The only man manicurist there was damn quick and shaped my nails to a perfect almond shape. I want that uncle for my next appt! Minus 1 star as I dont think they sterilize their equipment between usage and the UV light machine has no sensor so I had to keep reminding the lady to turn on the light so that my nails can cure.

Found my nail salon home and I can’t believe it’s been nearby where I live this whole time. I’ve gone to Lan I think 3-4 times now for my fills and she hasn’t disappointed me yet and usually I’d pay around $70 for designs at other salons but the prices have been so reasonable! I love this salon and have only had really exceptional experiences. I've tried multiple styles, come in at different times, and worked with nearly all the technicians. All have been kind and talented, and I've left very satisfied. Their prices are fair, the salon itself is really cute and relaxed, and I always appreciate the drinks from the mini fridge. Lunar New Year Cat Eye stamped nails by O! The best Japanese gel nails done by the best nail professional. Meant to post this earlier but I have been caught up in my first home purchase (sorry O!). I smile every time I look at my nails and it's the ONE self care item that I can do that stays solid until my next appointment with O. She is booked up MONTHS in advance so be AWARE of this and patient. You want the BEST nail tech, you have to book her in advance and she IS worth the wait. Be sure to tip her for what she is worth also because she really puts her heart and soul into her nail artistry and craft. Thank you O! Her studio is very clean and tucked away inside a series of shops in Montclair. Bathroom is always clean in the back also.

I have been going to Saunders & James for around 6 months, and cannot recommend them enough. They are kind, professional, and the salon is so peaceful. I have gotten standard manicures and pedicures, gel manicures and pedicures, and builder gel manicures, and have been satisfied with each of these services (highly recommend builder gel). I see Indra on a regular basis, she is wonderful.

I come here all the time to get a full sewn-in from the multi-talented Dionna Richardson. She does braids, weaves, locks, flat-iron, color, literally EVERYTHING! All you have to do is show her a pic of what you want and she's got you! If you are in a time constraint no worries, you will be in and out before you know it. I wasn't sure if I was the right client, but I'm so glad I went. Arlene was the first person who was able to help me figure out what caused my break outs, and the first person to treat them effectively. To anyone dealing with skin struggles, you must see Arlene!! Carrol has done amazing electrolysis work for me. I have PCOS and have had issues with hair on my face and neck, and Carrol's treatments have reduced that hair down to almost nothing, now I just go for maintenance. I briefly used to go here at their old location on Telegraph above the tattoo parlor and the attention to detail/comfort and customer service has not only stayed true since then, but has gotten even better! The entire place looks and smells like a spa. Symone is so kind and her smile is super contagious. I went to EWC across the st. to start the Brazilian process again because it was cheaper but immediately regretted it. I promise you, the prices here are so worth it considering my sensitive skin always leaves feeling calmed and renewed after my wax- something that is so rare at every other waxing place I've gone to EVER. I've never experienced any skin issue during after care or long after the wax since they only use the cleanest ingredients and their estheticians are really skilled. I booked an extended Brazilian about 4ish months ago and randomly got assigned Shymell and I'm so glad I did. She's super gentle and makes me feel so comfortable which is crucial for this type of wax. It feels like we've known each other for so long! She tracks how my skin/hair are doing and is now very knowledgable about my skin/hair profile after only a handful of sessions. Also love that they kept the art on the ceiling- so empowering! I don't usually write a long review or review at all but felt the need to share how awesome this place and Shymell are.

I found Tessa Allen to be an excellent esthetician at Vetiver Salon in Oakland. I have thoroughly enjoyed multiple facials with her and left feeling invigorated each time. My skin felt smooth and was glowing for days after each session. Tessa uses amazing natural based products which I liked so much that I now use them at home. She is highly educated in the field and I appreciated the excellent massage that was a part of my facial. I also brought my Mother in for a facial and we both enjoyed the experience! Vetiver also has an amazing selection of products and locally made gifts for sale.
Rasheedah is really wonderful. She has great people skills and keeps you distracted so you hardly feel it as she expertly removes hair from otherwise painful places. I'm extremely picky about who I see because I am very prone to ingrowns and have had awful experiences. I was nervous about going to a new person but I've seen her a couple of times now and just had to spread the word that she's a 10.
I have been looking for a good threading place since moving to Oakland from San Francisco, and finally, I have found it! Rowena, was amazing. She took the time to actually look at the shape of my face to find what eyebrow shape she would give me, it was pain-free, And quick. Also, it was only $18, which is pretty cheap for eyebrow the rating in my opinion. Also, if you go Tuesday through Friday between 10 AM and 2 PM, there is the eyebrow and lip threading special for $25 total. Another thing I love about them is that they do the punchcard. So at your 11th eyebrow threading, you get it free. Great location and even open on Sundays 1030 to 4 PM. They definitely have a new customer in me.

I love Marina at Simply Gorgeous Day Spa! She is so warm and friendly and very client-focused. I’ve bought colonic and wax packages with her, and I couldn’t be happier. They’re very affordable and it’s easy to schedule with her. She’s very accommodating schedule-wise, I usually opt for an evening appointment. The colonic room is clean, always smells great, and it’s nice and warm in there which is great as the machine uses cool water. I always run cold, but the cool water doesn’t bother me probably because the room is nice and warm, and there’s a great heating pad I love using. If I don’t use the heating pad I can do red light therapy, which is great. It’s also very easy to park close by.

I got an oxygen facial and brow threading from Teejay and it was AWESOME. I recommend her for her careful, intentional, confidant quality of touch. Many estheticians are very rushed in how they touch your face but not Teejay. I really appreciated how well and gently she threaded my eyebrows too, this was my first time trying it and the results were fab, I'll definite return to her for that service especially. The studio was bright, clean and relaxed. It felt like going in for a self care day. I had a tattoo by Arie and worked with her by email to narrow down what I was looking for- flowery, flowing fine line piece that incorporated a tattoo I already had. Arie created a few designs that were just as I'd hoped for. I am very pleased. Arie was friendly, professional and gentle. I've already recommended her and O Tattoo to a friend.

I got my first tattoo a week ago and could not be more pleased with the results. It was a father/college-aged-son matching tattoo outing, and Chummy was engaging and thoughtful with both ends of the age spectrum. He is a consummate professional, whose care and attention to hygiene, his clients, and his art are impressive. While I am not sure if I will be getting any more tattoos, if I do, I will be certain to return to Tattoo 13 and look for Chummy.

Dee was gentle, professional and conscientious. I had 3 previous piercings that I thought needed to be repierced (because other places have done just that, rammed a needle in anew) but Dee did stretching rather than piercing. She explained that this would cut my healing time down drastically. It also saved me money because she charged the stretching fee instead of a piercing fee. The jewelry selection was also gorgeous, and she created one piece for me to match the other two that wasn’t even in the display case! I highly recommend this clean, professional and highly gorgeous woman for all your piercing needs.

Harry Clark Plumbing came out and an estimator gave me an estimate to replace gas my furnace. I compared the price to a couple of other companies on Yelp and their price looked good and they answered my questions. We made an appointment and their team came out and replaced my furnace in just a couple of hours. I got a building inspector myself to come out to give me a permit for the new furnace. The inspector took just a few seconds before signing off on the permit.
Cindy was the best! What doesn't she know!? Time before last she even sent me to a competitor because they didn't have the peace in stock. Who does that? Cody, the other guy, is just as helpful.... Next time I'll just wait for the part to come in. My new go to Supply house!

We contacted Peter Erwin within a few weeks before the deadline for net-metering (NEM) 2.0 applications in California. This was after one of the big solar companies had declined our project because our main panel was not considered solar ready. Pete completely saved the project (and the day) for us: He installed a new main panel, elegantly kept the old panel as a sub-panel and also found a solution to keep the required distance from the gas aerator despite the relative lack of space where the new panel needed to be placed. He then installed solar panels for us at a fair price. Just like with the main panel, Pete completely followed through with this project, too. All of Pete's work has been done according to code, and we have now been enjoying the green energy from our solar system as well as the benefits of the NEM 2.0 program for several weeks - all thanks to Pete. Pete is a genuine, very friendly and incredible person. He is a very fine and fair electrician, he knows the local code and he keeps his promises. We can fully endorse Pete and assure you that you cannot go wrong with him as your electrician and solar expert.

We wasted more than half of day waiting for them!At around noon I found two wheeled locksmith!! Devin didn’t answer my call but texted me right away! Everything about this experience was great from start to finish. I had unsuccessfully shopped for carpet for over a year. I was struggling with color and pattern choices. I was referred to Dan, the owner, by a friend and he could not have been more helpful. I sent some pictures and explained what I wanted. When I went to the showroom I was shown a couple of options. Thank goodness as the showroom is quite extensive and would have been overwhelming to navigate on my own. Pricing was competitive and the installers were excellent-timely, clean and really hard working. Can’t recommend enough!

The job involved replacing the floor tile in a half bath with a composite wood floor (I think that's what you call it). They seamlessly lined the pattern and height up with the boardering floor. It looks great! I will definitely use Michael and team in other projects.

A2Z just completed our kitchen remodel, and we couldn’t be happier with our experience. Communication with our team, led by Dror, was excellent throughout the project. They were super-responsive, often answering our texts or emails within minutes, and were completely transparent about plans and schedules. It was clearly important to them to earn our trust and confidence, which they did from day 1. Eduardo, who was working at our house nearly every day, was excellent from both a technical and artistic perspective, worked extremely hard, and was always friendly and accommodating. He offered a number of design and construction suggestions that invariably improved on our design concepts. The tile backsplash was our design and fairly complex to install; Eduardo did a beautiful job (see photo). When our butcherblock countertop fabricator/installer, a contractor not associated with A2Z, made errors that delayed the project by nearly 2 weeks, our A2Z team did everything possible to make up the lost time and finish our kitchen by the end date they had promised. There were never any surprises or hidden costs; in fact, when challenges popped up, they came up with and carried out elegant solutions, at no extra cost to us. Our kitchen is gorgeous, and we will happily hire A2Z again for any future remodeling in our home.

Absolutely top notch. The Bay Area is filled with shoddy contractors who take ages to do mediocre or poor work. All Seasons is a bit pricier but is absolutely worth ever penny. They are professional, fast, efficient and do top quality work. My driveway looks incredible and the process (though a bit delayed due to the weather) was seamless and easy. They also did my foundation retaining wall several years back and also did outstanding work. If you want it done right, All seasons is the contractor to go with.

We hired Build Group to take our dirt yard and build corten metal pathways and to build a concrete slab. Fidel walked through with me and gave me a bid after crunching the numbers. I got two other bids from existing crews I have used and hired Build the next day. They got to work immediately, and they were the most professional team we have had working here. We were so impressed with their attention to detail and smart solutions and diligent labor every single day they were here. So happy so far with their work. Anderson Moraes has been the general contractor with me on two new construction residential projects as well as a gut renovation of an existing house. I’m an architect that’s done several projects in east bay and worked with many contractors, often on fairly tight budgets. Anderson is one of the only contractors I’ve hired repeatedly as he’s easy to work with, attentive to details, and I appreciate that not only can he oversee complex projects, but he also has a furniture shop and is able to fabricate items for the interiors. It’s rare to find a contractor that will take on small to mid size residential projects at competitive prices that’s also willing to take on furniture scale interior work.
We reached out to Eric for a quote and he was quick to respond and gave answers to all of my questions. In the end we choose to not use concrete for our driveway project, so we did not hire him and his team. I think they would have done a great job, we just went in a different direction.
Mano, Niko, and Nick are knowledgeable, very thorough, friendly, and conscientious. They redesigned and simplified our over-complicated system (originally designed and installed by others) for much more efficient operation, then later did maintenance service. I wish I had known about them when we first designed the house. Highly recommended!

I was introduced to Alex when he was remodeling a home for a friend of mine; that went well! Since then I have used him several times. He built a cantilevered deck for me, off the master bedroom at my home. I am a Realtor by trade, so I have also used him several times to help to prep my listings. He has done plumbing work and countertops for me - and is currently doing a large whole house remodel, which includes all the things; paint, floors, new kitchen and bathrooms, new windows, tile work, plumbing and electrical, new deck and landscaping etc. His bids are clear and detailed and he is super responsive. I never thought our outdoor spaces could look so beautiful. Ingrid and team overhauled all of our outdoor spaces after a remodel that killed much of our plants and dried out our soil. From the get-go, Ingrid was on top of everything and responsive to this major project. She was excellent at providing a vision, trouble shooting for unexpected problems and providing amazing results. I can’t say there weren’t unforeseen complications at times like with any other project but I found her reasonable and professional. My outdoor spaces speak for themselves from her late autumn work to seeing our first spring bloom.
A man with a vision! Hiring Keith Stover, (Nature's Design), to beautify the front area of my house was an amazing experience. He already works on my mom's garden, which is breathtakingly beautiful, and for my birthday she split the cost with me to have him work his magic at my house. I know very little about such things so I really trusted him and his vision, and I am so grateful. He was very attentive to my tastes and listen to my ideas. He often gave me options to choose which I liked best. Very quickly we were on the same page about all of the little things that would make me happy.
When the first estimate was a little higher than my budget, he pared it down and we focused on the most important areas - and he was still able to make it totally beautiful.
Keith was a pleasure. He has a quiet demeanor. He and his assistant were super respectful and it was clear right away that they really care about doing everything right. He stuck to the schedule, he worked super hard and it was immediately evident that he is someone who is very proud of his work, regardless of the size of the project.
I'm actually saving money so I can hire him again to add some of the things that were outside the scope of last year's project.
They installed an irrigation system and showed me how to program the timer, but honestly I haven't had to touch it. It just works. Everything grew. Everything still looks healthy and gorgeous. It's really the gift that keeps on giving. I'm really proud of my garden, and it really is the result of Keith's vision, Keith's design and Keith's implementation. He's SO GOOD! You should call him and get on his schedule because I imagine he's pretty busy making magic happen :-)

My experience here has been great! Everyone is so nice and they always treat me good. Everytime i come i never have to wait super long for them to take me in. They always ask if anything is bothering me. Paulina is a great person she is always checking in on me asking how am i am and asking how my day is going, I really like her a lot, she is always super nice and caring. Shes always giving me advice for anything i tell her and she is always caring about me. She also let me try out color to see if i like it and if dont she will let me change it.
I have been seeing Dr. Pratt for over 20 years now. He installed several of my implants in the early 2000s and is now doing a fantastic job at my quarterly periodontal visits helping keep the pockets around my implants in check. I highly recommend his services. His staff is very friendly. We always have a lot of fun.

Dr. Eric Yabu is an excellent dentist. He spent a great deal of time with me to instruct me about how to properly care for my teeth. I have been following his instructions, which have resulted in my teeth now being in such good shape that I have not needed anything more than a cleaning and a polishing at my last appointment. His staff is also excellent: his dental hygienists and his office help.
Over the last few years in his care, Dr. Louie has proven himself to be an excellent dentist. He does his own cleanings and is calm and gentle during treatment. I recently had some cosmetic work done where he added composite to my front teeth and the outcome was excellent - I couldn't be happier.

Ummm, this can’t be? You mean to tell me this very strange sensation i’ve been feeling for a couple month where my right arm feels heavy is fixed in one adjustment? That Dr C knew what to do because I had a neck impingement and in 1 min knew it, and I feel completely fixed? No way?! Yes way.
Still the best chiropractic clinic. Dr. Ruch has helped me through two motorcycle accidents--one left me bedridden and unable to walk, until Dr. Ruch adjusted my hips. Seriously-- I couldn't stand up one minute... and the next minute I could. Life changing. Their laser therapy kept my legs working. All the doctors at this clinic are amazing and the staff is equally caring and helpful. They totally work with you to accommodate your needs. I recommend this clinic to every injured person I meet.
Symmetry has helped over 2 years, intermittently during the painful moments, where chiropractor adjustment is needed and Symmetry healthcare always is able to do a broad comprehensive healthcare that helps improve my mobility and reduces my pain so that I can get back to exercising. P.S. I'm glad that I can have run-on sentences in my review.
Dr. Sandy is a lifesaver. My back was killing me for a good six months. After my first visit with Sandy, my pain went from a consistent 8 or 9, to an occasional 1 or 2. He spent more time with me than most chiropractors, doing soft tissue work in addition to adjustments. He's warm and relatable. I've already recommended him to 3 friends!

I read that chiropractic medicine isn't really real? So I don't go to chiropractors for my back anymore. BUT I love massages, they help me so much. East Bay Chiro has a bunch of great massage therapists on staff. We've tried more than one and we always come out feeling better. The massage therapists all have different styles and approaches, so it's useful to try out more than one of them. They have different locations also, one in Piedmont and one in Montclair. They always ask if you have any particular aches and pains or issues, which is very helpful. You can pay by Venmo or credit card depending on who you get.
All are friendly and knowledgeable. They do everything in their power to accommodate your schedule. The practitioners are always emphatic and understanding...wanting only the very best outcome to get you back to your best physical self. I would highly recommend Active Health Center!
Waltz family is very helpful and attentive, as well as knowledgable and during my regular visits I was listened to and my adjustments always left me feeling better than I came in, and over time I've been able to regain some of my lost mobility and that has helped me a lot on my fitness and health goals. Saw Dr. Ban for my Neck and Back but she improved so much more! Dr. Ban is an incredibly knowledgeable and attentive healer! She gets to know you and the issues that you may have whether you realize them or not. Honestly, I didn't even realize how good my neck could feel until after she worked her magic! Also was fit for a pillow by Dr. Ban, my wife loved it so much she stole it an now need to get another one with Dr. Ban! Highly Recommend her care!

Highly recommend Village Chiropractic. I can attest to Dr Green being a caring, kind, attentive practitioner; one who cares about you as a whole person and treats you accordingly. As I continue to age and various physical issues arise I am comforted knowing that Dr Green is there for me and my well being. After several months of consistent NS sessions I developed a much greater access to a clear, calm energy in my daily life. Much of my anxiety, social or other, seems to have dissipated for the most part. I experience a quicker return to center from difficult or uncomfortable thoughts, emotions, and interactions. I am able to let things go with greater ease. My posture is more comfortable and many tensions and pain in my body are greatly or completely reduced. The space itself is clean, calm, and relaxing. Gianna and Kevin are lovely human beings! They are warm, peaceful, and accepting. Highly recommend the NS experience at Harmony Center!

The staff at the Dermatology Center are consistently attentive and professional -- from prompt front desk staff, to highly trained medical assistants and collaborative MD and NP physicians providing up-to-date and evidence-based care (I'm in the medical field and this is very important to me.) I've been under the care of Tarquin Alwattar, Nurse Practitioner, for the previous 8 months and appreciate the scope and depth of her expertise as well as her upbeat personality and caring nature. The staff at Thornhill pet hospital is the best!! Theres something really special about this place. Dr.Yang and Alicia, take great pride in the work that they do. They keep me informed of the care they give to my dogs, and i totally trust their judgement and decisions. They strangely have a special connection with the animals, which makes their care that much better. Ive taken all my dogs to Thornhill pet hospital and wouldnt even consider any other veterinarian.
My dog is very reactive to vet visits, so I wanted to try a house call to make it a little easier for her. Dr. Reid and Kelsea were such an amazing team who worked together to make me and my dog feel comfortable. They talked me through each step and how I could help my dog for future vet visits. The BEST This is the best vet all around office clinic I have ever known in my life and at the age of almost 60 and having had many animals and known many vets. We recently moved from the East Bay to Marin however I will still take my animals to this vet office. Best most knowledgeable team of veterinarians best front office. Friendly and committed to good service best policies.. This is a general vet office that offers holistic options This team could also recommend some good specialist and I have other reviews for internist cardiologist etc.
I had a minor concern for my dog, a large rash and hitching/scratching. The receptionist could not book an appointment when I visited the hospital, but she gave me advice and I was able to book an appointment the next day once they were done with their triage for the day. The doctor addressed both the current concern for my dog but also discussed his health in general and his current medications since he is an older dog with a heart murmur. The staff is attentive, proactive and kind.
Definitely five stars from us. Taking your fur baby for a surgery is never fun. Our Roxy needed TPLO surgery after hurting both back knees. Our Dr. was very genuine when giving us options during the consultation. Also, the staff was very professional and comforting. I hope not to return and if I do, I have the confidence my fur baby will be treated with comfort.

I am so thankful to have found this rehab clinic. All of the doctors, techs and even front desk staff are so kind, caring and helpful. My dog has had a long road to recovery and I couldn't have survived the journey with all the help and support. I highly recommend!
My kitty, Calypso, always had wonderful care with everyone at Claremont. The front desk staff is efficient and pleasant. The techs are caring and gracious. The doctors who saw Calypso, Leggeri and McDonald, are informative, thorough and communicative. However, my most recent need was euthanizing my dear sweet friend. It followed a month of exploration into what was wrong, referring me to an outside vet for confirmation and discussion so that I was able to make the decision to go the palliative care/end of life route that was best for Calypso. When the time came to let Calypso go, the Claremont front desk was so kind. The tech was so gentle. Dr. McDonald was professional yet understanding, tender and compassionate, letting me know exactly what she was about to do on each step. The empathy from all was not sappy but distinct. I was given as much private time with Calypso as I needed during the various stages of the process. It was awful to lose my beloved sweetheart but I couldn't have asked for a better team to help me help Calypso move onto her next journey. From the bottom of my heart, I cannot thank you all enough.
Dr. Dorsey and Dr. Hart are the nicest, kindest, most professional veterinarians. They have nursed and helped me through four cats. I love their office staff. They try to get appointments for any of my fur babies, and when one of them passed away, the office gave a donation to a cat illness research. I can't say enough about how much I appreciate all their service and care for my pets. They are so reassuring and when the time comes for… Again, they are empathetic and sympathetic.
I have never trusted or felt comfortable with a vet more than I do here at Plaza Vet. He is always straight forward, there is no guilt or up selling crap my animals don't need.
I got my dog spayed here recently and was incredibly impressed by how well run this place was. They communicated all the instructions very clearly ahead of time, so I knew exactly what to expect. The surgery went perfectly, my dog recovered very quickly and needed no follow-ups. You don’t get any personalized care, but that’s to be expected. I was hesitant to use a clinic for this procedure, but was pleasantly surprised by the facility and the staff. I’d definitely recommend to anyone looking for a more affordable way to spay/neuter their pet. Thank you so much!

Left Coast is an absolutely amazing yoga studio! Most classes are warmed to around 82; initially I wasn’t sure if I’d enjoy this but I love it. Instructors are warm and friendly, giving clear cues on how to get into the poses with the right alignment, and without hurting yourself. My favorite teachers at this location are Deb and Malka - Deb teaches slower Alignment Flow and Flow + Restore classes and Malka teaches Power Yoga, which is more of an energetic vinyasa flow. Also love some of the newer teachers, like Zach and Malika. Definitely check it out! They have a great new student special - first month of unlimited classes for $75.
I was attending a conference at the Oakland Convention Center and took Amelia's morning yoga class offered on floor 21 of the Marriott. It was a stunning view and Amelia was a great teacher. I really liked the way she spoke about which move was coming next and I felt very comfortable even as a beginner. Highly recommend hiring her if you have an event.
I have been with Mountain Yoga for a year and I love it! I did a wide sampling of studios from Walnut Creek to Oakland and landed on Mountain Yoga. Basically, it felt most worth my time and money. I learn so many different things from all the teachers that I do not mind driving from Moraga to Oakland 2 to 3 times per week.
I've been having some health issues for about 6 months. Kaiser couldn't have cared less to help me heal. I turned to Dr. Feng, and he was able to diagnose the issue on my first appointment. I started seeing results immediately. Went back for a second appointment. I thought they'd want to see me again but they told me I'd be fine and I could come back if I wanted to. Two sessions with Dr Feng and all my issues have completely disappeared. I am so grateful to him.
Susan Urqhart-Brown is a fine human being and teacher. She has all the great yoga teacher components in place: compassion, knowledge, spirituality, kindness, devotion, and patience. I highly recommend Susan’s Anjori Yoga classes!
Used a class pass at this hot yoga studio with my daughter and enjoyed the class. Be warned that it is hot yoga so not for the feint of heart. The class was 90 minutes long so the extra time made it harder. I admit that during the last 1/2 hour, I was itching to leave. Thankfully that's when the resting poses come in. The heat does add to the workout and heats up your body. I need to get more acclimated to the temp! Lots of fun, I can see why folks enjoy it!
This place is a true treasure of wisdom. I have been doing moment for 30+ years yoga, tai chi, martial arts. Working as a professional and a teacher for 20 of those years. JinSung was showing me things that are fundamental to movement and alignment that I have never seen or heard of. In three class I have had breakthroughs that I didn’t know where possible on a physical and emotional level with relationship to my body and moment. I would also like to add my friend who has no yoga experience and does not work out loved the class as well. Please do your self a solid and take a beginner level 1-2 class with JinSung and come with an open mind and heart and see what happens.

Ive been taking Pilates once a week for almost 2 years now at Reactive Movement. It’s been an excellent experience and I definitely feel stronger, more aligned and balanced. The instructors are great and a special shout out to Jaclyn who gives amazing instruction and always changes up our weekly class and keeps it interesting. I always feel mentally and physically better after my class.I also love the vibe at the studio, very mellow and all the equipment is modern, kept clean and well maintained.
i LOVE taking pilates from Anya. She tailors each session to my pain points (hips, back, and feet), makes micro-adjustments to maximize each movement, and balances strengthening with stretching. My body feels so much better after each session! She also incorporates massage (if you'd like) and offers meditative/wellness advice (if you ask) - based on your interest. Not to mention, she's lovely to talk to and easy to get along with. And her studio is peaceful with a variety of equipment. I feel very lucky I found her!
I have been working with Sarah at Precision Point Pilates for about 3 weeks now, twice a week. A short period of time but already I know I hit the jackpot of Pilates trainers! Not only does Sarah know which exercises I need, she also knows anatomy and can explain the placement of bones and muscles and how they work together. This helps me visualize what I am doing and why. This is especially important for me as I am still recovering from a shoulder joint replacement surgery.I didn't think I could ever take reformer palates again after my surgery, but Sarah proved me wrong. I look forward to getting stronger as I continue my training so I can keep up with my very active adorable grandchildren!

I was pregnant when I first went to see Ronit for a prenatal massage. I was having terrible radiating pain in my arms and after our massage I felt just about 100% better! Ronit was so sweet, made me feel comfortable especially with my first ever prenatal massage. I highly recommend her! My husband and I later also hired her to be our doula for the delivery of my son. Ronit is very responsive whenever we had questions. She was very informative during our meetings leading up to my due date. One big thing for us was making sure our doula did not push their own agenda or replace my husband during the labor/delivery process. Ronit was respectful of our wishes, empowered my husband with hands on techniques and ways to better support me, and provided comfort and additional knowledge about labor which gave us peace of mind since we were first timers at the labor process, and that was priceless. We are so so grateful to have had Ronit with us despite eventually having to deliver via csection. After we brought our baby home, Ronit stopped by to check in with us and made herself available to any questions we have with caring for a newborn. Whenever I see Ronit it feels like reuniting with a friend! We have moved to the city but Emeryville isn't too far if I am in need of a good massage! She's the best!

I worked with Emily for over five to six months to rehab my forearm, which I broke during a bouldering fall. Emily was a delight to work with. She's extremely knowledgeable, explaining why I had certain sensations and pains based on my body's physiology. I also found the exercises effective. I have progressed well in range of motion, strength, and pain reduction. I'm climbing and doing yoga again, in a way that seemed impossible when when started. I highly recommend Emily!
My experience at Renew Physical Therapy was fantastic, and having “graduated” from my visits a month ago, it’s clear to me that my back problems have subdued and are in the most controlled state they’ve been in years.
I was paired with Josh who I trusted almost immediately, and after a few sessions it was clear he was a good match for me and great PT in general. He was able to be almost casual or informal, while being professional at the same time. He took the time to get to know me and my issues, and his knowledge about the subject was evident. I was impressed and will be forever thankful.
The facility administrators were also great. I incorrectly documented one of my appointments and ended up accidentally no-showing, but instead of getting annoyed or charging a fee, they worked with me to reschedule quickly and efficiently. They were kind and personable, and I also really liked how quickly they responded to text messages.
It may not seem like a big deal but it was also convenient that there were always parking options outside too.
I would strongly recommend this business. And while I hope I don’t have a reason to go back, it’s comforting knowing they’re close by.

Srinika’s nutritional analyses and supplements have helped me with many health challenges the past few years. The most dramatic was a painful knee that had been difficult off and on for many years. Several months ago it had become quite painful whenever I went down steps (which I do daily). Srinika recommended avoiding certain foods, and also gave me supplements, which were from good sources. I really thought it was a long shot, but after two weeks I was most pleasantly surprised that the pain was gone! Her techniques allow her to look at a troubling situation; figure out probably causes; and then come up with methods to make things better. And they work! I’ll mention one other challenge… because of my aging eyes, I had difficulty driving at night and didn’t feel it was safe, so avoided night driving. Sometimes my daughter or a friend would pick me up, but mostly I stopped going to evening events and activities. After some deep dives with Srinika into possible causes, as well as taking nutritional supplements, I’m now able to do limited driving at night, for which I am grateful. And I think there’s a good chance that my eyesight will continue to improve!

Acupuncture has been recommended to me by various providers due to my sensitive GI tract. I’m not a fan of needles, so I’ve stayed away. I did a phone consult with Aimee who explained everything to me and made me more open to trying it, and have worked mostly with Dr. Nadia but with Aimee as well. I’m happy to say that my system has settled, and this has opened the door to me using acupuncture to support other health concerns like my lymphedema and inflammation in my feet. Dr Zhang Tong is an incredible acupuncturist. I’ve had acupuncture in the US for over 12 years and he’s easily the best. We’re working on fixing a 20 year knee injury that I’ve had surgery on. For new patients, please trust him and his process and don’t hesitate to provide verbal feedback during sessions as that is key for him to understand what’s hurting and how much pressure to put during the massage portion of the session.
Wanda at Kokoro Clinic has been a great source of healing support for me. I’m glad I integrated acupuncture treatment as part of my healing triage. I’ve been receiving network chiropractic entrainments for a few years and acupuncture has helped to promote its healing effects. I’ve experienced significant shifts, and as traumas release there is a period when integration time is critical. Acupuncture treatment with Wanda, who is familiar with network treatment, has been an essential part of integration. Sometimes it takes a few days to feel completely integrated and sometimes longer. Acupuncture has supported that process, often easing the flow of energy through my body and sometimes releasing stuck energy allowing release of trauma to take its full course. As an athlete and fitness/yoga professional for almost 30 years, acupuncture has always played a crucial role in my recovery, injury prevention, and treatment. I found Ross Acupuncture a little over a year ago, and it has been an absolute game-changer!! Jen is incredibly knowledgeable and has helped relieve countless nagging and acute issues. I have hypermobile ligaments/tendons, flat feet, and I put in between 10-20+ hours of training a week, so I put a TON of wear and tear (and stress!) on my body. I am also super prone to things like plantar fasciitis as a flat-footed runner and Jen has been a lifesaver on more than many occasions when things flare up. She has also been able to get to the root of some of the injuries I've had off and on for a long time. Full transparency: treatment may not be the most comfortable all the time. Sometimes you might not feel it, sometimes it may be rather intense -- especially if you're coming for injury/pain. But, if you're an athlete (or even just active) and want to return to training, it is beyond worth it when your issues are resolved within just a few treatments (or sometimes in one session!) She often does stim on the needles which is my absolute favorite part. I find that this method to yield the best results for me. Tbh, I can't say enough good things about this clinic or Jen! I recommend her to my students and friends when they have issues come up. Side note: I have also done the facial acupuncture with Renee and recommend that as well! That's definitely a much more relaxing experience . If you're looking for an acupuncturist who can really dive deep into whatever aches and pains brought you to inquire about acupuncture, you've found the right place!

As a parent who used Berkeley Driving School over 20 years ago, I knew to contact them when my daughter got her permit. They're easy to schedule with and the lessons are affordable. Lule was her driving instructor every time and she helped my daughter improve her skills. My daughter passed her license test on the first try. Very well worth it and thank you!
As a 33 year old who had never driven before, I was very very anxious, but learning how to drive from Miss Mona and Christian eased a lot of my apprehensions away. They are very hands-on in their approach; each lesson they take lasts for 2 hours and I was behind the wheel from the very first one!
Both instructors know what they’re doing, and they’re really good at their jobs. Since you’re spending 2 long hours in the car with someone, I found it immensely helpful that both Miss Mona and Christian are also interesting people who I had good fun talking to!
