The shop has a chill vibe and a friendly staff, including a cool shop dog. Customers appreciate the simple, no-frills haircuts that don't break the bank. East Lake Barber Shop is a great neighborhood spot for a fresh cut, with an easy online booking system and friendly, skilled barbers like Sam and Natalie who are open to customers' ideas.
I had a great first time experience here. I've never been to a good barber shop before, and I really didn't know what I was looking for in my haircut. I knew I wanted someone to do a scissor cut because I'm not a tapers and fades kinda guy, but little else. Dickie was awesome and friendly and really helped me with narrowing in on something and then I just trusted him to go for it. Ended up with the best haircut I've had and I feel like I gave so little direction but he nailed it. Great conversation, friendly dogs, and just a good relaxed atmosphere. I'll definitely be coming back.

Great barber shop in Oakland. Came here on recommendation from some Berkeley and Oakland locals and have returned four times. Each time the cut is different, and always very good. Booking 3-4 weeks ahead recommended using Booksy.

I LOVED my first experience coming here. I'm only a 5 minute walk away so it's so nice to have a great local barbershop. The store was clean and nicely decorated and had a friendly, calm atmosphere. Sam, who cut my hair, was so friendly and did a fantastic job. The online booking system was easier to use than other shops' too.
