I started seeing Whitney 8 months ago for my chronic back pain and her support (along with acupuncture and long baths) has been transformative in my ability to live pain free and return to running and rock climbing. I was a All-American swimmer in college and I've recieved a lot of bodywork over the years... no one really compares to the healing that Whitney can provide -- she's able to use a targeted multi-disciplinary approach (across many different massage techniques) and has a really intuitive capacity to listen and respond to muscle tension in the moment. Whitney is an incredibly knowledgeable healer artist and community organizer! During our session I appreciated the thoughtful intake process, the time and space given to discover the best approach for my needs. I learned so much about my body and gained some tools to add to my self-care routine.
I also appreciated how Whitney began and ended the session by calling in our Ancestors and healer spirit guides and giving gratitude to the unseen forces that help us on our healing journey. It was a great reminder of the importance of intention setting and I left feeling supported and truly cared for.
I recently had a two-hour session with Leyla. I left feeling so much relief and groundedness.
Throughout our session, Leyla shared more insight into why different body parts felt a specific way (tenderness, pain, relief.) Leyla gave me a deeper awareness of my own body/pain/muscle/joint sensations that I hadn't previously been able to describe.
Leyla created a space of relationality, rather than just transaction by checking in with me regularly and making small modifications based on my feedback. I felt heard, seen, and listened to.
Healing work is essential for so many during times like this, and Leyla has a gift. Thank you!
