Claudia is the best facial esthetician in the DMV area and I have been going to her for years. I've tried estheticians in local DMV, but I decided to keep her as my permanent esthetician in Alexandria, VA because her work is the best.
My skin ends up cleaner and tighter after working with her, which results in my makeup application and using minimal makeup. She is very good at working on and analyzing the skin of people of color; and she is professional and takes her time with her clients as well which is a plus for me.

Took my dog Bert - 3 yo, 95 lb Bernadoodle to Bond Vet Alexandria for an annual check up and had an excellent experience. The office was clean and organized and the care was top notch. It was clear the staff and Dr O’Brien love animals and the work they do. She took extra care to check Bert’s ears which were infected. Bert was calm and trusting when they cleaned and cared for his ears. Dr. O’Brien not only gave me knowledgeable suggestions on some home care products but also how to buy them most reasonably.

I am pain adverse and I can honestly say that I have whole conversations during the service. That is unheard of for me because I have been ready to fight during service at other salons. I don't know how she does it, but it is very pain-less and I always leave there feeling as smooth as a porcelain vase. Try it, you'll like it!

What a great salon experience! The vibe is warm and welcoming with lots of beautiful plants and seating. The range of products is exactly right— great Aveda products and Oribe and other luxury brands. But the best part of this salon is the team. I’ve been seeing Jess for a few years and her work is consistently excellent. I get compliments from strangers every time I leave the Salon. 10/10 would recommend.

I came back today after trying it out for the first time a couple months ago and I had a great time. The only thing I would change is that I would have my big toenails covered with polish up close to the cuticle line. Otherwise it’s always a great experience. :)
Came in for a pedicure with a friend and loved the experience! I got the signature spa pedicure, which included massage, hot towels, and callous treatment along with polish, and it was so lovely and enjoyable. My nail tech was super nice and did an amazing job. It was pretty affordable too, great value for the money. Would definitely go back.

I had a HORRIBLE eyelash experience at a shop in District Heights. Think lashes applied with weave glue. I looked like Ms. Piggy because the glue line was so thick and I lost every single one of my eyelashes when I got them removed. I vowed to never get lashes again, but a few years later, I changed my mind. I went to Jazmine at Pretty Gorgeous Lash Studio and the experience was COMPLETELY different. She was nice and professional. My lashes looked phenomenal when she was done. They were natural, but enhanced my look perfectly.
That was 10 years ago. My lashes hold up well. I get them done every 4 weeks (sometimes 3 depending on her appointment availability). She does book up fast, but that's expected when you're the best, so grab your appointment as soon as her book opens up.
I have literally had people stop me to ask about my lashes, so unless she stops, I plan on going to her for the next 10 years.
Always do a great job, I now live in Alexandria about 10 mins from here, but they are so good that I used to drive from Annandale weekly to get my brows and upper lip done.

Finding Natalia was life changing! I have very difficult/complicated skin and have seen wonderful estheticians both in NOVA and in California. But none as great as her. Called to fix leaky faucet. Scheduled right away, and appreciated no charge when it was determined faucet and controls needed replacement. Rescheduled for a few days later after I purchased new set. Both technicians were competent, respectful and clean. The reason for 4 stars was I felt the price charged was high/excessive. I was referred by an existing client who said the company charged reasonably. My fault for taking this for granted.

John is very thorough and thoughtful. He helped us find and understand a mysterious slow leak. Once he located it, he drove to the local hardware store to grab tub and tile silicone to fix it. I appreciated that when he removed two small sections of drywall, he did so cleanly enough that we could just pop them back in without needing to buy new drywall. We’ll just need to patch up the seams. Once he was done, he even used a dustpan to tidy up behind his work.
Kieran, the Irish plumber is the plumber you need to call. He is professional, highly skilled in the plumbing trades and fair. You’re charged a fair price. He doesn’t come in and try to upsell you on jobs that supposedly need to be done before they can preform the job you brought them in to do. I’m an old man and I’ve had bad plumber experiences on both coast. Kieran, the Irish plumber is our go to guy for any and all plumbing jobs.

I am so glad I stumbled upon AG Services. I had an urgent matter and got someone to assist the very next morning. My electrician Matt went above and beyond to make sure everything was handled in a timely manner. He went above and beyond. You can tell they care for their customers.
They fixed a switch, installed two outlets, and hung our TV. Very professional and tidy. I'm not sure how the price compare is. The guy was there for several hours - maybe up to four. The TV hanging was what took so long. Our studs were not properly spaced so he had to jury rig something. he also had to install the outlet, and we had him drill a couple of holes to run our cords through the wall to the cabinet below.The bill was over $800.
I am very pleased with the work done at my house. Olvin Hernandez discovered the source of the burning smell I had been experiencing. He tracked it to melting insulation wire coming into my panel box. They came out and fixed it as soon as they got the permit. I no longer have to worry about that causong a fire.
Olvin and his helper are always on time, super nice, and super neat. I would recommend this company, and specifically, Olvin, to anyone who needs electrical work.

We had a great experience with Allegro LLC working on our new townhome in Fairlington (Arlington,Va). Greg and his team installed recessed lighting throughout, added ceiling fans in the bedrooms, and relocated a few electrical outlets for us—and everything turned out exactly how we hoped.

Electricians arrived on time and did a fabulous job. Hired them to install 5 light fixtures and 3 dimmers. Foyer chandelier is two stories high and Staircase pendant light 12 ft high. Also installed dining room chandelier and two semi flush hall lights. They helped me determine height and cleaned up area nicely. Highly recommend!
Carter was at my home in Old Town, Alexandria most of the day recently. He was capable, kind and patient. He fixed every issue I had, went to Home Depot to purchase needed items and during the course of identifying an outlet that wasn't working found a hot wire in a connected outlet, potentially saving my home from a catastrophic fire. I first called because the handle on microwave broke off and the dryer stopped working. Ben came that same day. While here, he kindly dislodged a shelf in the fridge that was stuck and opened up the rubber cover of the garbage disposal for better drainage—all with no charge. He installed a fan in the dryer, but it turned out also to need a new motor. He ordered the motor and microwave handle and came back 3 working days later to finish these tasks. The price was reasonable. Because he had to come out twice for the dryer, he did not charge labor the second time. He was courteous, efficient, and in the end totally effective, saving me hundreds of dollars for a new microwave and dryer. If I had any wish, it would be to clean up the floor after his work, but I think cleaning is not part of most service these days. He did remove old parts and boxes. He also found lots of coins under the dryer and bothered to pick them up for us. I would not hesitate to call him again if I needed his services and I recommend him to every one. You don’t always find someone as competent and responsive as Mo Ben.

We just had a meticulous cleaning of our air ducts and clothes dryer (and outside vent), along with the installation of a small cage to prevent birds from entering our dryer hose. The work was very much needed and we are very pleased with our results. My experience with Omar for area rug cleaning was excellent. After some research, and seeing so many bad reviews for other companies, I decided to try Omar’s rug cleaning. He was quick to respond and communicate throughout the process. It was easy to schedule the free of charge at home rug pick up. And my rugs were cleaned much faster than I thought they would be. But more importantly, Omar was knowledgeable about rugs and provided helpful information about how they would clean them and how I can take care of them going forward. I had three rugs cleaned: an 8 x 10, 4 x 6, and 3 x 6. They all came back in clean and beautiful condition and I knew that my rugs from Afghanistan and Azerbaijan were properly cared for. Apparently the 8 x 10 had over 10 lbs of dust- I could really see the difference after the cleaning! The price is what I expected for the service. We hired Marcin and his team to help us refinish our wood floors in our 1951 Arlington home. He was patient with us and worked with us on stain color, finish, etc and the end result was incredible. I hired them to redo my master bath, vanity area, and closet. They made it look so lovely. Gerson, the project manager was extremely responsive and concerned that I was pleased with the results. And Perry the owner is easy to work with and very upfront and reliable. Oscar, the Forman, is the DaVinci of tile and does a whole bunch of other things really well also. They will not be the cheapest bid you get, but this is a case where you will truly get your money’s worth. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

We hired Jen to install kitchen cabinets and had a great experience! Our contractor Rafael treated our home like his own. He came by to check the tile job and made the tile man remove what did not meet Rafael's standards. He made sure it was done right and that all debris was cleaned up.
He then sent his painter to paint our rod iron railing. It looks spectacular.

I cannot say enough about the great experience we had with Moore Construction Group; we actually used them twice. Our project was large enough that we split it into two, with about a six month gap in between. We absolutely would use them again. We have a 98-year-old home that has seen its share of poorly completed repairs and renovations over the decades. Nate, Rachel, and Marco worked hard to help us complete back-permitting, multiple repairs/remediation, as well as a nearly-whole-home renovation. The end result is even better than we could have imagined.
There are three main reasons to use Moore Construction Group. First, everything will be permitted and inspected, giving homeowners peace of mind. They are well known to the city of Alexandria and will do everything up to code, with inspections passed quickly. Second, Rachel and Marco listen, are really responsive, and will give homeowners advice that allows the project to become even more than what the homeowners were expecting. Rachel’s layout sense and Marco’s collaboration with homeowners allows the project to move forward while also improving safety, flow and sense of space. I came to Dr. Suleman with very bad knee/patellar pain and discomfort. After 4 weeks of treatment I am pain free and able to resume my regular activities. Lived in Alexandria, moved to southern Maryland. Our old senior had a tumor that started leaking, a sign it had ruptured. We debated on going to a local er, but I had bad experiences, so I asked my husband to take me here, and God am I glad I did. I figured we might have to put her down, much like we put our last dog down, due to a internal stomach tumor. Thankfully our vet was super understand yet able to work out a plan that made sense. Now Roxy is back to her normal self, happy and living a great life once again! Thank you to the doctors, receptionists, vet techs and vet assistants at emmavet for all helping our dog.
We moved to the area last year and we were excited to see a highly rated cat clinic a few minutes away. I prefer a cat clinic because they specialize in treating felines and I don’t have to worry about walking into a stressful environment with large dogs barking and echoing throughout the waiting area.
I take my kitty for monthly shots for his arthritis and the staff is always caring, friendly, and attentive. They’re also very reasonably priced and I don’t have anxiety that they’ll try to upsell me on unneeded services.
Sometimes, I have to search a bit for a parking spot —but that’s the trade off being located near so many other popular businesses. I wish that they had a few reserved spots, close to their door, but not every property manager will allow for that.
We love this clinic and its vets and staff. Have been bringing our pets here for 20 plus years. We have a new foster on this recent visit and the team took extra time and care to help him feel comfortable. We look forward to continue to bringing our pets here for years to come.

Elpaw has been my vet for years. They have been wonderful with my very nervous dog and do a lot to make her as comfortable as possible. Prices are reasonable, and they don't push for more than you need. My older dog has needed more care recently, and they've been able to accommodate her very quickly most of the time. Took my dog Bert - 3 yo, 95 lb Bernadoodle to Bond Vet Alexandria for an annual check up and had an excellent experience. The office was clean and organized and the care was top notch. It was clear the staff and Dr O’Brien love animals and the work they do. She took extra care to check Bert’s ears which were infected. Bert was calm and trusting when they cleaned and cared for his ears. Dr. O’Brien not only gave me knowledgeable suggestions on some home care products but also how to buy them most reasonably.

I had an excellent experience at Paw Spa. My 5 year old, female, bichon frise is a rescue and I got her about 7 months ago. Due to her anxiety, I’ve been having trouble grooming her on my own and she developed mats. She went to a groomer once, at Petsmart, just got for a bathe, and I don’t think it was the best experience for her. At Paw Spa, Gabrielle, the owner, was very patient with her and though I left her in a nervous state, when I arrived she looked relaxed and happy to see me. I am overly pleased with her shave down and I now have a new groomer. Please, go to Paw Spa. They are affordable, friendly, and black-owned. The business is small and cozy, which is perfect for anxious dogs (or other pets). I love them!!!!
I was very satisfied. I was having a hard time finding affordable quality grooming for my recent rescue long-haired cat. I was impressed and reassured by the fact that For Pets’ Sake has a dedicated cat groomer specifically. Everyone in the shop was very kind and professional. Lee was so sweet with my cat. I got a standard cat grooming session which includes bath, brush, cut, nail trimming, and ear cleaning for $160. I asked them to skip the cut and just give her a sanitary cut in the back. She came home clean and refreshed and I was happy with the ear cleaning and nail trimming. Definitely recommend! Of course she is now grooming herself to put her own touches on it 😂

Yoga6 Kingstowne is such a welcoming space. They offer a variety of classes, the teachers are wonderful, and the atmosphere is always so positive. I always look forward to my next class!

I attended the Workday Wellness class and had a fantastic experience. Kristen, the instructor, was amazing, and I left feeling refreshed and stretched. The owner was incredibly kind and made me feel right at home. Kristen even played a playlist with soothing flutes, that perfectly complemented the relaxing atmosphere. The studio is conveniently located just down the street from the King Street metro station.
Laura is amazing. She makes you feel extremely comfortable and is encouraging along the way. She keeps a close eye and assists as needed to ensure proper form and the you’re getting the most out of the workout and yourself. KUDOS Laura!!!!
I’ve been going to Fort Hunt Pilates for over a year and have seen a big difference in my core strength, balance, and flexibility. The instructors pay close attention to your form and make sure you’re doing each movement safely and correctly.
Classes are small, which allows the instructors to tailor exercises to your individual needs—whether you’re working around an injury or looking for more of a challenge. The classes are creative and always keep you engaged, with a more personalized feel than you’ll find in larger studios.
It’s also a welcoming, local studio with people of all ages and fitness levels, and no membership fees. Highly recommend.

I love coming here! I've been seeing Dr. Cindy regularly for a couple years to help with chronic lower back pain that I've had for decades, and in that time she's consistently kept the evil pain at bay so I can move! Along the way she's helped immensely with all sorts of body weirdness. As an injury-prone athlete who has done a lot of physical therapy, I appreciate that she gives me homework (stretching/exercises) and other sound advice for what I can be doing to prevent symptoms.
I trust her enough with my health that I also gave her Functional Medicine practice a shot, and I've been amazed at how quickly and drastically my lifetime's worth of IBS symptoms have virtually disappeared with her guidance.
She is kind, knowledgeable, professional, and frankly a joy to be around.

I came in with chronic left-sided neck and lower back pain, and as someone who bodybuilds, muscle tightness and recovery are really important to me. James was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and clearly very educated on the body, muscles, and nerves. He took the time to understand what was going on and used a combination of massage, cupping, and scraping (gua sha) to relieve the tension and pain. I genuinely walked out feeling brand new. Recovery is a huge part of training, and this is definitely something I’m adding to my routine. Highly recommend James!

Truly, she once told me her job is to “unF\\/€k your Fascia” (the continuous, web-like network of dense connective tissue that surrounds, supports, and protects nearly every muscle, bone, nerve, blood vessel, and organ in your body). I never realized how messed up my fascia was and how much pain I was in with limited mobility from LIFE. Lisa is an excellent physical therapist. She has taught me so much about my body mechanics and how to work with it. I first went to her with a bad case of sciatica and could barely walk. Because of the exercises she has given me, I no longer deal with sciatic pain. She’s also helps me with other body ailments and my husband as well.I have recommended her to many people and they have been very grateful. I highly recommend her.
I have 2 excellent physical therapists. Both are knowledgeable, professional, personable and highly effective! Techs are also great. The only hesitation I have with leaving a good recommendation is knowing this may lead to increased competition for prime PT time slots. :-)
I am incredibly grateful to have found Dr. Ueno and his practice. I first sought treatment for gluten intolerance and later continued acupuncture throughout our fertility journey. Eight years later, I am able to eat gluten and am the mother of a healthy, active toddler.
I first started seeing Dr. Ueno in April 2018 after a friend's recommendation to try acupuncture for my gluten intolerance. I was skeptical because I had never tried acupuncture before, but I figured I had nothing to lose. Within three months of treatment, I was able to eat gluten and have not had any flare-ups in the past eight years!
Dr. Ueno also helped me through fertility challenges. I was 40 when we started our fertility journey and knew it would not be easy. One of the local fertility clinics gave us less than a 30% chance of conceiving naturally and explained that IVF was our best option. IVF was not a path we wanted to pursue, so I continued acupuncture treatment with Dr. Ueno. This journey was difficult, including a heartbreaking loss and the cautious excitement that came with finally seeing another positive pregnancy test. Four years after beginning our fertility journey, we welcomed our miracle boy. I will always be grateful for the role Dr. Ueno played in that journey.
