I was a little apprehensive about trying a new place, this was my first time there. You never quite know what you’ll get. This is without a doubt the best nail salon I've ever gone to. I was able to get an appointment easily. They got me in and did an excellent job. I'm very particular about how I like my nails shaped and they did a really good job getting them how I like them. The staff was friendly and pleasant and quite professional. This is a really nice area conveniently located on the 1800 block of State and Pedregosa. There are on state street where de la vina starts and across the street from evans relaxing station. This is my second time getting my nails done here. Scheduling appointments is generally pretty easy. I've been able to get in conveniently with my schedule, which can be hectic these days. They are always very friendly and chatty. I have had a life time of fine hair issues and in need of someone, so I went to see her for a consult. I had been perming my hair for a few decades just to get some body and was over it. Lety told me that my hair had a natural wave and that the right cut would enhance it and that most likely I would find that I no longer needed a perm. I was intrigued and booked my first appt. Lety did not disappoint! I walked out of her salon with a wash and wear cut with the most adorable soft curls I never knew I had! I flew down from the Bay to get a haircut from Chuy. Why? Because when I drove down to a shop in San Jose, they charged me $15-20 more, acting like they’re God’s gift to Earth, but their workmanship doesn’t compare to Westside. People used to take pride in their work, worry about the details, and respect each customer equally. I don’t think they do anymore, except here at the Westside Barbershop.

The two of us both had a great experience at Spa Del Mar. Yes the decor could do with a little refreshing, but the important thing- the massage was fantastic. The therapists we each had were professional, experienced, and able to adapt the massage to our individual needs. We paid for an hour massage and got a full hour. No set up and clean up time. Roger is by far one of the best massage therapists in our community. He has a very specialized technique, this is not your average relaxation massage. Roger has in depth knowledge with muscle tension, deep tissue and sports massage. He is excellent and highly trained. Jeremy is truly gifted with healing talent and intuitive skill. I met him while he was doing bodywork on my horse after suffering an attack from an off-leash dog while we were riding on the trails. The emotional and physical recovery of my horse from Jeremy’s touch was remarkable so much so that I decided to have him work on my injuries sustained from the fall - I had already been seeing a chiropractor yet never seemed to be holding the adjustment. Since Jeremy’s work I feel better balanced and more focused then I have for many years - I’m in my late sixties and my horse and I have a brand new lease on life!!!Thank you Jeremy ?
I have had many Massages in my life and Robert has delivered some of the best. I highly recommend him for good bodywork weather it is deep bodywork massage or a nice relaxing massage he is top notch. He is very experienced and knowledgeable both about massage and Rolfing. Also, there is plenty of parking around this place which is a very nice plus since it is sometimes very had to find parking around town.
My husband and I both had a 90 minute Thai massage. Best massage I've had in a long time! We were here for a business trip and needed a good massage before we left. Their location has changed to 5 E Figueroa! I have been to Michael for a haircut 3 times now. I have long hair, which I usually go to just get trimmed about once a year. A few weeks ago, I went to see Michael again and wanted to change my hair up with some face-framing layers. Michael did an awesome job with what I wanted and what worked with my hair. He is always open to talking about a multitude of topics, or not talking at all! I always leave Salon U feeling refreshed and 100% happy with my haircut.
To be clear - the nail service (lavender hour) from Esme is 5 stars. Hand massage was a little light but relaxing, she covers you in all the warm items and the polish is done very well (see photo). She also doesn't talk the entire time which was amazing because it lets you disengage and relax. Highly recommend her.The area where they lose a star (honestly should be two) is the experience outside the room. If you make an appointment at 10am when they open you will be standing outside with other people waiting for them to open. We had to knock on the window to get them to unlock the door.Then with only maybe five minutes left on the service, the receptionist knocked very loudly on the door, in essence waking me up from my relaxation state. She then knocked a minute later and fully opened the door and came in asking when it would be done. It killed the entire relaxation vibe. It was fully unnecessary.When I got back to the front to check out there was an older women who was loudly complaining that her appointment was starting late (not my problem) because of a booking error (also not my problem) and she and the receptionist aired this all out in front of me while I was waiting to pay. She was upset her service was impacted, understandably, but why the receptionist chose to ruin the end of my service on this woman's behalf seemed idiotic. These services aren't cheap, but the behavior certainly was.Long story short, Esme is great, but don't book the first service of the morning, even if it's all they have left.

omg where do I even begin! I had such an amazing experience at Keota's hair salon and would 100% recommend her services to anyone and everyone! Keota is such a sweetheart and so much fun to be around. The minute I walked in for my appointment I immediately felt cared for and relieved knowing that I was in good hands. On a whim, I made the mistake of box dying my hair on my own, and when that went horribly wrong, I sought the expertise of a professional to try and fix what I had done to my hair. Not only was Keota incredibly knowledgeable about hair and how dye works, she was also very honest about what the most realistic approach to correcting my hair would be to achieve the look that I wanted without causing too much damage to it. Most professionals would not be this honest and caring for the client's hair health, instead they would most likely sit their client down and proceed with doing whatever they had asked for, without giving a second thought to how much damage they would be inflicting, and how costly the procedure would end up being. It is clear that unlike most salon professionals, Keota is not in it for the money, and instead truly cares about her clients and only wants the best for them. This undoubtedly shows in her services, as I left the salon with healthy, beautiful hair that exceeded my expectations! I mean Keota is truly a miracle worker! I was able to achieve the color that I had wanted, as well as preserve the health of my hair. On top of that, I felt like I had made a new friend. Keota and I talked and laughed the whole time that I was there, which completely boosted my mood and set me up for a good day! Not to mention the confidence that I had gained from Keota hyping me up, and delivering on making my hair look absolutely stunning! Overall, I can not express enough how amazing Keota is not only as a hairstylist, but as a person and friend. The shop was recommended to me by my roommate. My hair seemed so dry and decided I wanted a wash and blowout. I ended up having some waxing and getting a special conditioning treatment. I went to Drift expecting a facial, and instead got a whole body experience—I truly felt like I'd had a spa day after my 90 minute facial. The space is lovely and calming and Kristie and Cydney made me feel right at home. They are both extremely skilled and used a combination of massage and facial techniques that allowed me to fully relax. I'm incredibly picky about the products I put on my face since I break out in rashes with anything that has parabens, etc. DNA is organic, but also clinical—my skin looked brighter and more radiant after. It also smells amazing—everything from the cleanser to the pumpkin enzyme mask has a lovely scent. Truly a wonderful experience that I hope to repeat very soon!

My wife & I frequently visit a dear friend in Santa Barbara. My wife had been to Geneva a couple times on previous visits and convinced me to see her over the past Christmas holiday. It was the best facial I have ever had and the added bonus of the hot stone neck & shoulder massage made it unique. I am a rental property owner and have used Luigi countless times. At my own home I have had many broken pipes due to old caste iron, and Luigi has handled big jobs like replacing broken pipes under my shower and in the driveway and putting everything back together. He replaced the sewer line into the street on one of my rental properties. He has also replaced my water heater with a tankless one, and dealt with many clogged pipes due to tree roots. Power Electric was the electrician for the solar installation on our house. They also installed our "critical needs" box and panel and the wiring was clean and well labeled. We have an old house and while replacing outlets I got some strange readings and decided it best to get someone who knows what they are doing. Power sent out Ben and he did a great job sorting through fifty year old wiring and making it work correctly. While here he also fixed an issue we had with our furnace and AC. Econo West was able to schedule the service the first day our A/C stopped working at our home on one of the hottest days of the summer. David diagnosed and fixed the blown capacitor within 20mins, then checked over the unit for other problems. Very friendly and knowledgable and answered all my questions.
Mike from this company showed up on time and quickly diagnosed and repaired the problem with our air conditioning unit water leak. Another company came out first and said they repaired the problem but did not! Next they told us we should just buy a new system. Not only did Don's fix it, we were told that our Carrier system would easily be good for another 10 years. Beware of repair companies whose goal it is to sell you a $20,000+ new system. Highly recommend Don's and will use them if and when we have any issues in the future!

But the magic really started to happen once it was turned over to Ecolawn and my designer, Jerry Galanti, and his team. They turned good initial design ideas into exceptional ideas that fit my space, preferences, and budget. My backyard was a disaster - overridden with weeds and a gopher that wreaked havoc on the fake grass. Through conversations with Jerry to ascertain what I liked, he sourced products that were perfect for what I wanted with my backyard. He came up with creative ideas to repurpose stones and refinish existing surfaces to reduce expense and enhance the space. The team was incredibly flexible - I changed my mind about several aspects and they flexed with ease to accommodated each of my requests. The costs were always outlined in advance. Once designs and budgets were finalized, work was promptly started, and it was so nice to get a video of work that had been completed at the end of each day. The estimated timeline was spot-on from what was promised. I was amazed at the end result and so happy with what Jerry and Ecolawn did to make my backyard an enjoyable space to enjoy SoCal weather. Mark Taylor and his team did a great job installing my Tesla electric vehicle charger and garage Sub-panel (For future expansion). They did the job the way I would have done it if I did it myself, which is the best I could ask for. There were some challenging aspects including a long run from the main panel to the garage and they navigated through some pretty tight spaces to get it installed. They showed up when they said they would and finished on time (even cleaned up any mess they made). Great experience!

These guys did a very good job on my rotted fascia boards. They used high quality wood planks, kept them whole, painted them before they went up. Knocked off 1 star for sending out inexperienced workers, but the next day, Steve showed up and whipped out the job in a day! Josh and Jack did a great job painting. We will use them in the future.

Wilson Environmental redid our front yard, tearing out a concrete walkway to our front door and replacing it with a beautiful flagstone walkway. Daniel personally helped us pick out three specimen trees which really set off the yard as the nicest yard on our street. We get lots of compliments from everyone, from our mail delivery person to our neighbors to friends that come visit. I’d recommend Wilson Environmental to anyone looking for a quality job! The most wonderful experience . Wonderful Quality of work, using top quality Technicians and Services available in Santa Barbara. We added 6 feet to one end of our entire House and in the process discovered we had cracks water pipes in the foundation. The entire house was re-plumbed, re-roofed, re-wired and reconstructed by Below Const. Their farming work is like Cabinetry. In 15 years not one problem has risen due to their work. This was our first experience with an arborist and I always do research before hiring companies. Bartlett is rated A+ with bbb.org and no complaints. They have good ratings on Google as well. They service a wide area and have a better scheduling service than other places I researched. Bartlett Tree Experts scheduled the perfect arborist to help save our 30+ year old Magnolia tree, which was loosing an abnormal amount of leaves. Tony is very knowledgeable and professional. He took various ground and tree samples to have tested. He gave us some great advice on intermediary steps to take while samples were being tested - deep watering, clearing 2-3 feet of grass around trunk for air circulation, cutting back certain limbs and only enough to avoid shock, etc. Once Tony diagnosed the problems with our Magnolia, Bartlett scheduled very experienced and professional technicians that chemically treated our tree two times over this past year. We were concerned about infringing on our neighbors lawn since the root system is wide spread; however, they were more than capable to treat our tree without infringing on our neighbors lawn. Now our Magnolia has lots of new deep glossy green leaves and tons of white blossoms ready to bloom. Thank you Bartlett, Tony, and staff for helping to save our beautiful Magnolia tree!!!
We just had Montecito Tree Care complete a big job for us at our home in Hope Ranch. The trees had not been trimmed in quite a long time. They lifted and cleaned up several large oak trees, Magnolias, Liquid Amber, a Jacaranda & an Ornamental Pear tree. The team was incredibly efficient. They arrived on time, worked tirelessly all day and left the yards spotless before leaving. The property feels so open, bright and airy since they completed their work. We look forward to working with their team again and would absolutely recommend them to others.

I cannot say enough about how great these guys are. Customer support from Travis was amazing. They came the very next day and trimmed my palm trees for a quite reasonable price. We've been working with Nick's Tree Service for 5 consecutive years. He and his crew come annually to trim my 5 palms. The trees always look natural and healthy afterwards. Over the years, he has also removed a giant birds of paradise and a row of thick bamboo. His crew is friendly, professional and always do a great job cleaning up the debris. Nick is great at coordinating and staying in touch throughout the job. I have contacted other arborists occasionally to compare pricing and Nick's is always the best for such high quality work.
Autumn and his crew are excellent. Their services are always very professional and skillful. Ryan and his team at RMS Handcrafted Floors are superlative. We have seven rooms with 80-year-old white oak floors, as well as one room that needed brand new wood. We also needed some patches and repairs. This was a challenging job. But RMS did all of this so that everything now looks brand new! Our floors are stunning. We're pleased. Upon completion, we found one small variation in the finish, and the guys came back out to touch it up promptly. If you want to have your floors refinished, either for selling your place, or just to enjoy in the years ahead, call in the RMS team.

From my girlfriend: I've been in pain, neck pain since Feb 2021. Now I figured that I can bypass seeing a doctor and a chiro for awhile, but the pain kept getting worse. It was tough rotating my neck left and right. My boyfriend and I decided to take a trip to Santa Barbara and I wanted to find a chiro that can adjust me same day. This was my first time seeing a chiropractor. Everything about seeing Dr. Adam's is great. The staff are all so friendly. I enjoy the 10 minutes of lying on the massage table to get loosened up. It's very relaxing. Dr. Sami Adams makes me feel comfortable and is very skilled and confident in her profession. I had come in for relief from pain in my C6/C7 due to a herniated disc and also lower back pain. Dr. Sami was very detailed in her approach to my potential remedy. She asked me numerous questions about my pain history, what caused it, etc. There was incredible attention to detail. We developed a plan and I am happy to say that I am now pain free. Dr. Sami applies a multitude of different techniques. She used manual adjustments, an Impluse adjusting tool, and also a Hypervolt percussive gun. She also sent me home with different stretches and strengthening exercises to correct my posture and prevent future injuries. I'm very happy and satisfied with Dr. Sami. I am now doing fine and go once a month for routine check ups and preventative care.

Dr. Klemperer is professional and thorough with our family skin cancer screenings. For acute conditions and concerns she is relatively accessible and efficient. Her office has a clean, relaxed, modern vibe. The scheduling is well organized so that there aren't lots of patients in a crowded waiting room. La Cumbre Animal Hospital is hands down the best vet we’ve ever been to. The techs are friendly and so good with our dog - we always feel like he’s in such good hands! The veterinarians are patient and thorough, not rushing from animal to animal (but somehow always staying on schedule!). What a Special group of people. The doctors are the most knowledgable, caring people. All of the staff is warm, friendly and most helpful. I have taken my dogs there for years and always know I am in the best care!
Took my chameleon there and they were very gentle and sweet with him. Chameleons normally get darker when they're stressed and he had bright and vivid colors the whole time.
Todd is the best... He is so good with dogs, and with people too (which is half of the equation, right?). He empowered my 76-year-old aunt to handle a (pretty crazy) 90+ lb dog safely. Then when my aunt passed away, he kindly offered to give the new owner a lesson to bring them up to speed on his training. Completely decent human being, and the training was reasonable and so worth every penny. I will look no further for training or boarding needs in the future. Thank you Todd! ??
We Didn't Think It Could Be Done!Before I get into some of the details, here's the one sentence headline:Our training with Joe has been an unqualified success and he has done for us exactly what he said he would do. If we knew then what we know now, we would have done this ages ago.Ok, so that was two sentences, sorry.How did we get here?Our dog Enzo, five and a half at the time he started with Joe, had been under-socialized. The result was that he was reactive with other dogs - nervous about life and the world (can relate!) and had figured out that he could cause other dogs and people to leave him alone if he barked and lunged and generally acted scary.We had a neighborhood reputation of having the sort of dog where you cross the street when you see 'em. Not. Great.Enzo was amazing with us at home but since he unpredictable with others, it bred a pattern of insularity where we didn't invite people over, didn't take him to meet other dogs and the like. Enzo was alone on our little island - he was getting out to walk but not really experiencing the world the way a dog should be able to. Enzo was overly sheltered because we were nervous.If this sounds like your situation, keep reading because it doesn't have to be this way!We had done training before with, at best, so-so results. Even though it was not our first time, I don't think we realized it could be done so differently. I will say, when we first talked to Joe, our initial impression was: 'whoa, this guy is sort of hardcore'. There were rules that he told us we needed to impose if we wanted to be successful that we hadn't even thought of as problems.Nothing unreasonable but definitely changes in our regular routine and a more disciplined approach. That was new - previous trainers didn't have much to say about the big picture or changing the home life, though in retrospect, this part was critical.We met for our first day - a multi-hour session to get everything started. We didn't know what to expect but we were willing to give it a go and let him direct us. Our expectation was that it would take at least weeks to see results.We were wayyyyyy wrong. Even after that first session, we made major progress.Joe's philosophy is to help dogs be dogs and it turns out that when you swim with the tide instead of against it, things go a lot more smoothly.Enzo is a changed dog. Our lives are better and most importantly his life is much better. He's out running and playing with other dogs daily, something that we thought was impossible just weeks ago.Joe delivers and we give him a hearty recommendation.

Ryan and his team at RMS Handcrafted Floors are superlative. We have seven rooms with 80-year-old white oak floors, as well as one room that needed brand new wood. We also needed some patches and repairs. This was a challenging job. But RMS did all of this so that everything now looks brand new! Our floors are stunning. We're pleased. Upon completion, we found one small variation in the finish, and the guys came back out to touch it up promptly. If you want to have your floors refinished, either for selling your place, or just to enjoy in the years ahead, call in the RMS team.
We always enjoy our experiences at Santa Barbara Stone. We enjoy friendly helpful people and that is what we encounter each trip there. It is an easy process. You choose what rocks or type gravel you want and get the name - which is on a tag connected to the bins. Then, take it to one of the employees. They weigh the amount you need and you pay the guy in the little building. You can also go in and ask questions as the people in their are most helpful and dogs are welcomed! Our last visit Andreas helped my husband load rocks and was extremely kind and patient!
I was referred to Five Star Tile by our nextdoor neighbors. In their words, "Tom is a perfectionist." Well, I couldn't be more appreciative. A kitchen remodel is never fun, and I think the tile is what brings a kitchen together. Tom helped me select the tile, worked fast and efficiently, left the worksite clean, and yes, he is a perfectionist. He did so great, I gave him a second job. I believe his prices are competitive. Also, he shows up to the job when he says he will. He is polite, courteous, kind, and professional. I would highly recommend Five Star Tile. Please see my review of our fireplace also. Kenney Construction Company came to the rescue after the horrific rainstorm in January, 2023. Not only did the storm undermine a private road shared by six homeowners, it created two very serious washouts on my property, which contributed to the problems on our road. Those of us on our road were stranded the morning after the storm with part of the road blocked by a mudslide and part of it eroded completely away. KCI was here at 9:30 that morning with their equipment to clear the mud and verify that we could each safely take one car out, allowing normal activities to continue. In addition, the crew began work almost immediately so that our road was repaired within less than two weeks.When I learned that my serious damage might qualify for FEMA aid, Jon and Jordan came out immediately to assess the damage and design a fix, using the latest technology. I had a formal proposal to submit to FEMA within one day. When work actually began, their entire crew was professional and personable, always making sure the road was clear if someone needed to pass, always friendly and helpful to me. Being a widow who knows nothing about construction, Jon and Jordan were quick to respond and explain when I had questions.
