Frankie has been my hairstylist for years and she always does a phenomenal job and knows exactly what color will look best uniquely on me. I saw another hairstylist for highlights out of state where I go to school, and she over-bleached my hair, did not blend it well and added a very ashy toner. I came to Frankie once I got home to correct what I thought was irreversible, and she exceeded my expectations and made my hair feel like mine again! She is such a talented and reliable stylist, I couldn’t recommend her enough!
The Damn GOOD Pedicure truly lives up to its name: damn good! I’m still adjusting from the quick and immediate life of nail salons to the small and personalized experience of a private studio but I’m loving the attention to detail, which the opposite, was my biggest pet peeve at (most) nail salons. It’s worth it! Go get a damn good pedicure!
I’ve been looking for the services provided by MKM Nails for quite some time without any luck until I found Mallory at MKM nails. I wanted to find a CLEAN space to have my manicures (I’m really bad at doing my own nails).My nails have special needs- they are thin and brittle and they cannot handle the rough tools used at all of the other salons I had visited in the past. Mallory takes her time to make sure you get the cleanest and most precise manicure. I just love my nails, I can’t tell you enough. I do the dazzle dry manicure. This polish can be removed easily with nail polish remover (no soaking drills etc). It dries very quickly after it is applied so no wait time and it lasts way longer than a traditional manicure without the damage caused by gel polish. If you have sensitized, brittle, thin, delicate, problematic nail beds then Mallory at MKM Nails is a must see. You can easily book online on her website. Jenylyn at The Gift Spa is seriously the absolute BEST! I've been to her twice and was blown away by the results each time. I had never tried a harisienne facial before, but once I did I was so impressed by the results. My face looked completely snatched, lifted, hydrated, and glowing! Irene was absolutely fantastic! Not only did my husband's and my hair come out looking amazing, Irene was incredibly nice, friendly, and patient. Over the years, I've had a variety of hair stylists, often expensive, cut my hair. I had never been completely happy with the cut. Don changed all that when I went to him many years ago. I've been going to him ever since. A few years ago, Don moved a block away to his old location. He is at the back room which you'll see when you enter from the rear parking lot. Ask for Don O'Hern.
I've been to plenty of high & low-end places to get my haircut here in LA - Berkeley Barbers is my favorite spot. I'm a man in my mid 30's & typically get a low-fade cut. Edna does a great job! She leaves me clean-cut every time. My partner agrees, says it's the perfect blend of what's on trend but also conservative. They're well priced. Regular customer now, thanks!

Such an amazing place! Lena did my manicure and pedicure and worked miracles with both. Her attention to detail and care showed throughout the process and she was so patient with me trying to pick out the perfect color (always the hardest part!). If you want your nails to look like something out of a magazine and better than they ever have in your life, come here!
Bio gel, yes? Bio gel yes! Best manicure ever, yes? SO yes! Briefly, a bank teller's nails were SO beautifully manicured ~ much longer than mine ~ that I had to ask, and she said, "Bio gel!" Those were actually her own nails, and she swore that it was the bio gel that helped her grow them so long and strong. SOoooo, after reading about bio gel and then looking ALL OVER yelp for a place that offered it on the Westside (for some reason, they all seem to be up in the Valley or near DTLA), I found this one place in Santa Monica. AND they could take me on a Sunday afternoon. Who knew from the plain, (very) unpretentious storefront on Lincoln that this is where I'd get the most detailed, personalized, attentive manicure of my life ~ and that includes regular, gel, and powder-dip manis in dozens of different places. The interior of the shop is, I gotta be frank, not quite your average Westside mani-and-martini kind of place. Not even close. But Anh (I hope I'm spelling it right) was the first person ever to take a close look at my nails and notice that they tend to go up a bit at the tips (so THAT's why my polish always wore off quickly at the ends!). So she got to work with the bio gel (and she had lots of colors of both the Bio Sculpture and the Bio Seaweed kinds) and meticulously, painstakingly built up my nails so that they were flat before layering on the color (you can't really tell from the picture, but it's kind of iridescent) and top coat. And all this with such a sweet, upbeat demeanor. Thank goodness it was a Sunday and all I had to do after was some grocery shopping, because the whole thing, including removing the regular gel I had on, took two and a half hours. She did say that she could work faster if I needed her to, but heck, it was Sunday and the groceries could wait a day ~ I was getting the best manicure of my life!

I've been getting my nails done by Lynn for over 15 years, and she is excellent. I would recommend her to anyone and have brought many of my friends to see her. I don't have a specific pedicurist, but I've always been happy with the quality of service. Everyone at Zumani is good to me, which was a big change from some of the other places I tried. They have a private waxing room in the back, which is great. Definitely check them out!
I love my nails!! Special shout out to Long. He was so thorough and I could not be happier with how they turned out. The picture taken is a few days after they were done, but they still look great. I will be back!

They are still open but just up the street at blade and brush salon! They’re the best, they treat me like family every time I go in and are the only affordable nail salon in town. Not only that the quality is fantastic! My last manicure lasted a month without breaking and I always break! Give them a call, they have some nice specials if you go visit at their temporary location.
This is my favorite place to get my nails done. They have the sweetest employees and walk-ins are always welcome. Kathy, one of the nail technicians, is amazing and graciously worked with me even though my nails were in rough shape from rock climbing.

Beadahs is a lovely neighborhood bead shop! I came in here recently to get some crystal bead bracelets shortened and they were friendly and did an absolutely great job achieving the right size for my bracelets. They were able to do the adjustment on the spot and there's tons of beautiful items to browse while waiting, including jewelry, beads, pendants and crystals. I'm definitely curious to come back and possibly pick some beads and make some of my own jewelry next time!! Prices were great as well, and there's a cute little coffee shop next door if you want to make a fun little outing!
I am looooving my haircut from Agi. The whole team at Zaine is wonderful and made me feel very welcomed as the environment was very relaxed. I enjoyed that. I wanted a change from my long boring hair and Agi did just that. She provided a variety of layers and texture and brought my hair back to life. If you're looking for a change up, go see her. I'm visiting LA and was recommended to Marynn from a client who lives in the area. It was easy to book and appointment and the day of she sent instructions letting me know exactly how to find her studio. I liked her technique. The touch of the TV on the wall was nice. My favorite part was the bikini line and brow wax were relatively low pain. I'd definitely book here again when I'm in LA.
Jacqui did an amazing job. Came in for a brazilian and brow wax using some extra classpass credits I had for the month and this was one of the least painful brazilians i've had. Added on an under arm wax and at $15 it's such a steal. She's also super friendly and easy to talk to. Definitely will come back with or without class pass!
This was my first time getting a brow wax and I was super nervous but it was such a great experience. I had Christina and she was so accommodating and nice. Did such a good job making me feel less anxious. I told her I wanted to keep my natural eyebrow shape and just clean it up a bit. My biggest worry was that she would over-wax or pluck, but it turned out exactly how I wanted. I would definitely recommend this place for a first time waxing of any kind!

A truly relaxing experience. It is very peaceful and comforting to have the spa to myself! Heather performs miracles, she is thorough but gentle and gets my skin glowing every time. I have sensitive skin and have never had any issues after facials and microdermabrasion like i have with other places. She's never pushed products but i did buy a few masks as maintenance in between facials and get great results at home too.

I had a deep muscle massage not too long ago and just recently went in again. I like this place. Clean and a strong massage as I requested both times. I see all the bad reviews are for some type of coupon that was not honored in good faith. All in all I must say great experience, but again, I paid cash. I will go back and recommend this location.
Run, don’t walk to this place!!!! My family loves Thai massages ever since we became addicted to them in Thailand. This place is legit and amazing. If you don’t want the traditional Thai massage, they offer deep tissue and swedish as well. Very affordable, clean and super nice.

I was thoroughly impressed by the Thai massage techniques provided by two of the masseuses (I forgot their names) While one focused on my upper body, the other attended to my lower body.
From the moment she applied pressure with her strong arms, I knew it would be an exceptional experience. Their techniques included precise pressure points and gentle stretching.
I appreciated that the massage was comprehensive, addressing every part of my body from head to toe. The atmosphere was incredibly calming, from the comfortable massage tables to the spacious waiting room. I especially enjoyed the refreshing cup of green tea with fig and grapefruit provided after my relaxing 90-minute massage.

I needed a whole new drain pipe for a sink that probably hadn’t been updated since 1952 when my house was originally built. JMS was able to come diagnose the pieces that needed replacing, order the parts and come back out the next day. My plumber, Orlando, went above and beyond, clearing gunk build up in non replaced pieces. He also was super friendly, and allowed my dogs to be in the house during the work. It’s always nice when my dogs are able to watch ;)
SGS replaced a 50 foot 4 inch main drain for me that tied into the city sewer line. It was completely clogged with roots and could not be cleaned. It required going through a poured concrete wall and digging through the street as well as a planter area. Their high quality work was well coordinated, completed ahead of schedule, and very reasonably priced. I have since referred them to others.
I was impressed with the knowledge and skill of the oasis plumbers team. They resolved our water heater issues, efficiently great job!!!!
These guys are the real deal. I never knew that plumbing involved so much math and calculations. I had another plumber install tankless water heaters in three apartments and they all broke down in six months. It turns out you need someone who can calculate gas requirements, flow rates, etc. It takes tons of math and calculations and tables. They actually recommended that I install regular old tank water heaters, otherwise I'd have to dig up concrete to put in bigger gas lines. If you have a simple job, you might not need these guys, but if it is at all complex, call these guys. It's the same with car repair, anyone can change the oil, but it takes an expert to fine tune a performance sports car. I learned my lesson, and if I need a drain cleaned, I might call someone else, but if I have a complicated project, I'll call the Botham crew in the future.
I has need for an electrician quickly after an SCE power surge did horrendous damage in my area. I spoke with Romin and he got back to me within a few hours to put my place back together. They arrived promptly and got to work right away. They replaced a heater transformer, all smoke and CO detectors, gfi outlets, etc. The price was quoted up front (reasonable) and the work was done expertly. The gents were neat and very polite. I wouldn’t hesitate to have them back or recommend them to my friends and family!
I can not begin to say how happy I am that I contacted Bernstein electric. David was able to show up at my house within an hour of my call. I had been told by other electricians that my 80 year old house needed to be rewired because I had several dead outlets. I was beside myself because like most of CA I'm unemployed and wasn't sure where I was going to find the money to do that. They were all trying to bilk me. David realized I had some loose wires. Huge difference than rewiring the whole house. Honest, fair and knowledgeable! This company rocks!!

Called Westwood Appliance to check out my 10-year old Bosch dishwasher that had stopped working due to an error code that indicated water was leaking. Ronnie came out and dried everything up. He couldn't recreate the leak, but suggested it might be time to replace the motor--which would be expensive--so maybe time for a new one? While we were researching the replacement, Ronnie said it was okay to keep using the dishwasher. So I called Danielle in the office to discuss a new one (very good prices by the way), and while we were deciding, the dishwasher kept working okay. After 3 weeks, I spoke to Ronnie again who asked about how we were using the machine, and it was determined that it was operator error. We were putting cookie sheets and cutting boards into the machine, which can cause leaking. So that looks like the problem. Meantime, when we need a new one, we'll be calling Danielle to hook us up. Really great service all around.

Uli, Romero and company did excellent work on our recent ADU, plus house extension/remodeling, about 700 sf in all. Their bid was reasonable, and their work was mostly excellent, plus they responded to special requests without question (such as moving a wall that was already framed, for example). Romero, especially, was fantastic. They also followed up on items after construction, worked through the pandemic (which struck in the middle of our project), and finished in a timely manner. A strength of Bayview is doing much of the work themselves, so they do demolition, foundation work, framing, painting, etc. not everything, but a lot, and that speeds up the process. There were change orders of course, many generated by LADBS (one rather pricey a sewer line change), and a few others, all reasonable and within our expected budget. An area of weakness is outdoors: we had a lot of DG, and though they worked with it, we had to redo with an experienced landscape person. Likewise, when we had our deck put in, a recalcitrant tree kept growing up underneath. We eventually hired a tree-removal specialist, at some expense, to get rid of the tree roots. (Wish we had done this to start.) in spite of those issues, the overall experience was quite good. We recommend Bayview, and especially Romero, vey highly.

Can't say enough good things about Dr. Lilly and her team. To date I've had a two cleanings, a root canal, and Invisalign treatment and I'm very happy with all services. They're very responsive and their pricing is the best I've experienced. The best part is the fun energy in the office. They treat you like you are their long time friend or family, make jokes and always ask about your life. I always have a great experience at Dr. Lilly's office and so happy I found them.

I began seeing Dr. Le in April for a 6 mm disc herniation at my L5-S1, which likely began years ago. I had visited other chiropractors before, but none had helped provide me with any relief. The pain had become so severe that I had considered surgery. I was unable to do much aside from standing or lying completely flat. I also had an important trip coming up that required sitting for at least 4 hours on a plane, and I had planned to cancel it. At that time, I couldn't sit for longer than a few minutes.
At my initial appointment, Dr. Le reassured me that surgery wouldn't be necessary and that he could help me prepare for my upcoming flight. After consistent sessions with Dr. Le and his team, regular stretching at home, staying active, and following his advice, I was able to take the trip weeks later with very little pain.
If you know Dr. Le, you know he’s very type A: organized, thorough, and really takes the time to get to know his patient's individual needs. He wants to know how you’ve been feeling and what you’ve done since the last time he’s seen you so that he can best treat you that day. Each time I leave an appointment, I instantly feel better and more like myself again. Santa Monica veterinary group was kind enough to allow a walk-in urgent care for my dog. I thought he was having dental issues but they very thoroughly checked him out in front of me and found the issue to be with his neck. This place is amazing, in all the ways, and has really helped keep me motivated on my yoga journey this past year.In the past, I have never consistently stayed with yoga in part because the experience I had at the studios I frequented was just okay. At Sweat, however, from day one I have loved my experience, super clean, friendly, great music, dark, and no mirrors. My practice here is all about me. Olivia the manager, is the best ever, and I love all of the instructors as well!I waited a long time to write a review because it's already a popular studio, and I sort of want to keep it to myself, but really they are epic and everyone should know about it.
They're very beginner-friendly, and strict about the grippy socks, so please be prepared for that. So far, I've tried three different Novice teachers that were kind, non-judgmental, and helpful -- very attentive without making you feel self-conscious. They seem to have different offerings and help students to progress, so I look forward to exploring more.

I tried a beginner's class at this studio a few weeks ago. I really enjoyed the class and the instructor was thorough and had a very soothing voice which I really value in a pilates instructor. It was a smaller studio so the class was very intimate and each participant got lots of direct instruction from the instructor.

Carlos, the owner, is kind and friendly as can be. The studio has a comfortable, healing, family atmosphere. Carlos arranged with me to work with Ashley on severe and chronic back pain. Ashley is just wonderful. Very inquisitive about how your body and spirit are feeling, and very nurturing in response (unless you want to go hardcore, she can push hard, too, it's just not what I needed at first!). She's great about explaining movements you don't get and cueing the activation of muscles you do need and the release of the ones you don't. Plus she's just all around sunshine! Core. Response has been an absolute gift to my recovery and growth.

Jenylyn at The Gift Spa is seriously the absolute BEST! I've been to her twice and was blown away by the results each time. I had never tried a harisienne facial before, but once I did I was so impressed by the results. My face looked completely snatched, lifted, hydrated, and glowing! Her body scrub and lymphatic drainage massage is also amazing. I would recommend Jenylyn to anyone and everyone!

There is no substitute. She works from Intuition and it’s a true mind, body, and soul experience. Just relax and close your eyes and when it’s over your world will feel slower, calmer, clearer. Pure clarity. Sometimes I need to sit in my car in total silence for a few minutes to come out of the spell.And yes, there is a shower you can use before the massage; get ready to slip into another world.
You will not find a better masseuse anywhere! Sophia is not only an incredible person, she is a gifted healer. She's incredibly in tune with the human body and can tell instantly what areas need work. I have extremely tight and sensitive muscles and have received many deep tissue massages from many people, and hers was both the least painful AND the most impactful. As an added bonus, you can visit with her cat and puppy while you're there, which itself is therapeutic. I cannot recommend Sophia enough!

His depth of knowledge is unparalleled and his entire ethos is dedicated to providing his patients with the tools to heal themselves over time — what other practitioner does that? Both my wife and I are his patients, and we couldn’t recommend him highly enough!

First time having a full face and body lymphatic massage at Nutherapy. This was a wonderful experience in every way.sweet space with relaxing music and super comfy table etc. Owner,operator Nooshin is an absolute professional with a healing touch and huge knowledge. Very reasonable price point for the level of excellence I experienced. I can't recommend this enough and will definitely be going back.

I came to Elevate after a major skiing accident with multiple complicated fractures in my leg. The care and incredible therapy I have received and worked on over the last year with Dr Kyle and the other therapists at Elevate have been incredibly life saving to me. The care is personalized. One on one with your Doctor of PT. My recovery would never have come along this far after a year without the professionalism and incredible therapy- which required hard work- without Elevate. I am a former marathon runner and athlete so it was very important to me to work hard with the best after a freak ski accident. I went to the Balance Lab for balance and vestibular issues. I worked with Liz David, who is exceptional. She is very knowledgeable, was able to give me a thorough evaluation and provided me with extensive and varied exercises. targeted specifically to my issues. She was very kind as well, very respectful and fun to work with.

I went to Julie after experiencing the worst flare-up of my chronic back pain I've ever felt. I came into my first session barely able to walk and completely unable to stand up straight, and within one session I could stand for hours. I came to Dr. Marina seeking relief from chronic headaches that I've been dealing with for the past 20 years. Dr Angela has been awesome in helping me treat a sprained ankle, with some great results after just a few weeks.
