“I’ve been going to European Wax Center for years, Since they opened on Montana and while I’ve had several wonderful waxers, they always seem to leave just when I find someone I really love. This time, though, I found the GOAT: Joelle.
Joelle is, without question, the best waxer I’ve ever had. I honestly couldn’t believe how painless the entire appointment was. Usually, even with an experienced waxer, you expect at least a little sting or pinch. Not with Joelle. There wasn’t a single moment where I tensed up or thought, “Here it comes.” It was so smooth and comfortable that I almost forgot I was getting waxed. That’s how talented she is.
I don’t even come in that often because my hair grows so slowly maybe four times a year but I’ll gladly schedule around Joelle’s availability. If she ever leaves, I’ll probably follow her wherever she goes.
Now for the downside and unfortunately, it’s a big one.
The front desk experience at the Montana location has consistently been disappointing. it seems like they go through front desk staff very quickly. I’m probably because they’re not selling or whatever the criteria is to be a front desk staff there but that’s the biggest turn off because as a person who gets waxed I’m always gonna come back. I don’t need to have a sales pitch. I’ll always spend my money at a place that has quality waxers. Women will always go to a place they trust They don’t need to have a sales pitch of buying packages if they want to they will. I hate when companies do this. It’s the worst thing a huge turn off and I don’t think one woman or a man that walks in there would not agree with Me The people actually performing the waxing are fantastic, but the reception staff often comes across as cold, insincere, and overly focused on selling instead of serving customers. Every visit feels like the same scripted sales pitch about buying a Wax Pass because “prices are going up.” I’ve heard it over and over, yet somehow the urgency never seems to match reality. It feels less like helpful information and more like pressure.What makes it worse is that the friendliness feels forced. Instead of feeling welcomed or appreciated as a loyal customer, I often leave the front desk feeling like I’m just another sales opportunity. There’s a big difference between excellent customer service and reading from a script, and unfortunately, it shows.In fact, I never leave my tip with the front desk because I don’t feel comfortable trusting that it will make it to my waxer. I always bring cash and hand it directly to my waxer before I leave the room.Thankfully, once you’re with the waxers, the experience completely changes. Every Waxer I’ve had has been wonderful, but Joelle is on another level. She is exceptionally skilled, incredibly professional, and truly gifted at what she does. She turned what is usually an uncomfortable appointment into one of the easiest I’ve ever had.European Wax Center is lucky to have her. If you’re booking an appointment, ask for Joelle. She’s worth every penny.“
