Derma Spa Nanaimo brings a sense of ease when walking in, bright open spaces and smiling faces greeting you as you walk in. Glad I called them! Needed a dog run built at the back of our house called Top Notch fenceing Clay came out and came up with a plan then sent me a quote we made sure we were on the same page and I told Clay let's do it. The following Monday Josh arrived with Ty and Zack they unloaded supplies and started putting in fence post. By the end of the day all the fence post were in and the area was completely cleaned up! The following day they arrived and started putting everything together even incorporating a ten foot by ten foot kennel we had to save us money. By the end of the day the job was all done the area was immaculately cleaned! Ty even took the time to greet our new rescue! Very impressive the new dog run looks fantastic! Now our rescue is enjoying all the room she needs! Thank you Josh Ty and Zack for a job well done! Drew and his crew at Starke Contracting LTD were great to deal with. They were professional, punctual, and most of all, they were personable. Drew met with us to discuss our project (remodelling a shed, and building our dream deck), and not only was he able to turn our ideas into a physical reality, he added some beautiful touches of his own. Tomas is awesome. He is kind, professional, and organized -- provides an upfront quote via email. He gave me some great advise on salvaging parts before discarding. We had Tomas come in fix drywall at our workplace twice now and moving on we trust him with all our repairs.. He is knowledgeable and charges fairly for his time and expertise.
I called for siding repair, which I understand is a smaller job and also can be tricky. Dylan responded right away, color matched our older siding and repaired it making it all look brand new. He was thorough and consulted with me throughout to make sure that we were happy with the work. The quote was exactly what we were charged and the end result even better than we expected. We needed a electrician to fix a couple of items in my father's house that we are selling I called Lantos and they accommodated us immediately, We explained we needed the jobs done as soon as possible, Steve scheduled us in the next day and had all the jobs done within a couple of hrs, The electrician he sent was friendly, clean and explained everything he did thank you Lantos electrician for such a great job done. Without hesitation, we highly recommend Canpro Deck and Rail Nanaimo. As many people would be, we were hesitant at first knowing this would be a major replacement of our large deck, both decking and railings. We were hoping for the best and got that and more with a knowledgeable and very competent team, especially Nick, Frank and Joe. They exceeded our expectations on all levels, deconstruction, prep and install.
We are very pleased the outcome! Owner was professional from start to finish. He was very responsive as we added on a small amount after the original quote and it was no problem. He and his team did all the drywall repairs and painting. We asked him to come back for some small touch ups in the evening and it was done by 9:30 the next morning. He explained the quality of the paint, helped with colour choices and cleaned up all through the process. Price was fair and the quality of the work shows. We worked with MJ Chahley Construction on a previous renovation so we contacted them to work on the renovation of our recently purchased home. We can't say enough good things about our experience with them. Their staff and subtrades were very efficient and professional. Mike and Lavona were very good at keeping everyone on schedule and ensuring that the site was kept clean and tidy. They also gave us some very helpful advice and design ideas when we were feeling a little overwhelmed by all the decisions. The work quality is excellent and we are very pleased with the results.

That doesn't seem like a lot, but I've been going to RMT, Physio, Pilates, Osteo for years and the longest I've been pain free with those services was a day. I highly recommend booking in for a Deep Pressure Massage with her.
I finally found a hair experience I have been looking for in Nanaimo. Becca listened and provided me the cut I wanted. She is an excellent stylist. Her advice for future transition treatments made sense and I will be back to have it done. The boutique vibe was calming. The hair washing station was the most comfortable I have ever experienced. The owners have put a lot of thought into the comfort of their clients as well as their staff and their area.
I have been to 3 salons since arriving in Nanaimo (none even come close) last summer and I know I will be happy here.

I had some waxing done by Laurie-Ann and I found the experience to be professional as she asked for consent and explained the process thoroughly answering any questions I had. I also felt very comfortable and relaxed during the service, and the space was nice too.
I went in for a 60 minute deep tissue massage with Gaia and she was lovely. She is very kind and caring and makes sure you’re comfortable the whole time. She will focus on whatever areas you prefer to have worked on and really gets into the tense spots. Highly recommend!

I just got a jewellery change. It was an impromptu stop for me and they were happy to help out. Zache was very friendly and helpful and kind. They anodize metal to the colour of your choice in front of your eyes. I had never seen that before. Make sure you check out the plant greenhouse in the bathroom… They converted a shower and it's so cool.
I came to get my septum and Earlobes done here. Couldn’t had asked for anything better since everyone was so kind and helpful. I got my piercings done by Ken and they were patient and really kind, answered all of my question and made sure I was comfortable with everything.

A call to Twin Peaks for a second opinion, and wanting to find a trust worthy company I could build a long-term relationship with in Nanaimo, to have a look at my heatpump AFTER another W Van Is company said reason for on/off of our ac was I had numerous leaks on the coil in crawl space, and it was going to cost what would have been a almost 7gs repair!!?? 1st company had sent 2 different people 10days apart to diagnos!? my gut was telling me something fishy(scam) was going on.
Twin Peaks sent their tech Tom over, diagnosis was done on the spot in less than a couple hrs, ZERO LEAKS, NONE!!
Tom's professionalism shows and he kept me informed as he went along (unlike 1st company)
Issue was found, and traced to the interior txv and I was told a very reasonable cost for repairs before he left.
I booked the repairs with Twin Peaks and Tom returned to complete the job when the part arrived.
We are very pleased with Tom and Twin Peaks and would fully recommend them for any work that this company could do for a home owner! 5 plus ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

JD did several jobs at our home (installed a heat pump, ERV system, hot water heat pump, laundry sink, ductwork), all with quality of work. He is very professional, personable, and takes pride in what he does. JD would make sure everything was running smoothly. If there was anything that wasn't quite right, he would look into it, find a solution, and make sure he left it running perfectly. He even came back weeks later for another job and noticed we got some debris in our ERV system, and he cleaned it out for us. Thanks, JD! Purchased a new house recently, had some extension cords running the garage door openers to the socket on the ceiling, that needed to be replaced with individual sockets, and I needed another socket added to the far wall in the garage for internet hook up. Finally, there was no light wired-in in the master bedroom. McKenzie did it all for me. He responded to my initial request for a quote in a couple hours, or less, even, and was able to come to the house, and give me the quote for the job the same day. I'm very pleased with the results of the job. Will remember K-Lou Electric for future projects!
I needed a heat pump disconnect, and some rewiring in the bathroom, and had a great experience with Den Mar. Scott did our quote and was very thorough and gave us some different options to choose from, and Kyle and Jude did an excellent job on the work. Very Happy with Westcore! We recently had new countertops put in our kitchen and 2 bathrooms. So plumbing hook-ups were a must to complete the job. We experienced a power failure caused by faulty equipment on Christmas eve and the electrician we called could only restore single phase giving us a few lights but no heat or stove to cook Christmas dinner. He recommended we call Houle but he wasn't optimistic that they could respond on Christmas eve. Not only did they answer, one of their electricians who lives nearby was here within the hour. He went out of his way to find a solution so we had full power (and heat) for Christmas. Thank you and Merry Christmas to all the staff at Houle.

I recommend this company to clean stair carpets. They communicated really well leading up to the appointment and did a great job on ours. They did require a water outlet on the outside so it was lucky that we had one easily available. Would have been good to check that beforehand so they could prepare. Minor point, great job, will get them in again to do more.

I’ve purchased flooring from Vanguard on three different occasions now, and every time has been a great experience. The staff are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. If you let them know what you’re looking for and what type of space or application it’s for, they’ll take the time to explain your best options in detail.
They really understand things like sound transfer, durability, and what materials are best suited for each use. I appreciate how they go over the specifications and help make sure you’re getting exactly what you need.
Another thing I really like is that their pricing is flexible — they’re willing to work with you, especially for larger purchases. Unlike the big box stores where the price is fixed, Vanguard has always offered me a fair deal based on the volume I’ve bought.

I called for siding repair, which I understand is a smaller job and also can be tricky. Dylan responded right away, color matched our older siding and repaired it making it all look brand new. Terry and Deveraux are just great guys. I first got to know their work when I was at VIU, where they were doing some impressive renovations - taking tired old theatres and turning them into top-tier spaces. The quality was always high-end.
Since then, I’ve had them help out with a project at my own business, converting an overhead door into a mandoor. They did an excellent job, and were super easy to work with; lighthearted, down-to-earth, and professional.
Their pricing is really fair for the quality they deliver. Would absolutely recommend.

5 Starts to Maxx Contracting! We had a large rotted-out 400 sq ft deck. The beams were good, but the joists, deck boards, facing boards, some lattice all needed replacing, and we also wanted to modify the entry and stairs to allow wheelbarrow passage.
Spencer lead the project and was fantastic to work with, and even raised the bar on an already nicely designed deck. He and Mike worked efficiently and consultation throughout was encouraged.
We are so pleased with Deck 2.0 - pressure-treated wood, clean lines, routered edges, hidden fasteners. The new stair design is better than we had originally envisioned, the new 6'x3' gate is solidly hung and perfectly weighted. On time and on budget. Thank-you Maxx Contracting! This is a professional, high quality operation with good sub-contractors and a very easy team to work with. Work was done in an orderly manner and with care to minimize disruption in our lives (we had a bathroom renovation and exterior doors done on two different projects) they completed great work on both projects. I’ve dealt with this company for over 30 years. Each and every time I needed them they are quick to respond and resolve the problem. Excellent customer service, knowledgeable employees and fair pricing. Woke up this morning and the house was freezing cold due to the furnace breaking down. I called their office at 8:00am and Ken had technician at my home before 9:00am. It’s 11:40am and the technician is all done. Heat back up and running, furnace fan replaced ! Under three hours to source the parts required and installed. Five star service. Awesome job guys. Thank you !
Great experience with this builder. We just built a garage + guest room with them and it came in on budget, on time and the craftsmanship is amazing. They were a dream to work with, great communication. If I ever need to build again, I will definitely give Darren and his crew a call.
We had a leak in the copper pipes in the family room ceiling that when discovered had caused more damage than we could have imagined. Our insurance adjuster and Doug Bates met and assessed the damage and assured me that everything would get fixed ,and look better than before . The tradespeople that did the repairs were exceptional in that they were here when they said, called before they came and worked solid til their part of the job was done. The job required removal of furniture and damaged flooring, plumbing, drywalling, painting, flooring. All the trades were quick , professional and friendly. He and his team did a lot of little extra things that weren't included in the quote, and I was pleasantly surprised when the final bill was actually slightly less than quoted. We've already arranged for Island Eco-Scapes to do regular upkeep through the summer and fall and I'm pretty sure we'll be talking to him about a few special projects. My husband and I are seniors with health issues and it's such a relief to just turn it all over to Island

Strain Landscaping has provided multiple services in our backyard renovation. They created a patio with drainage, levelled a large sloped yard into two sections - a large lawn with landscaping beds and a garden with raised beds, and installed irrigation for the whole yard. Just had Eucalyptus Tree Services attend to our old Laurel Hedge, it had gotten too wide and needed to be topped. Ivan came and gave us a quote and his crew, Lucas and Avery came the very next day and performed the service. Hedge looks so much better now and we have already booked them to return to do the other side of the yard. The boys were very careful not to damage any roses or other plants near the hedge and they cleaned up after their work. We would highly recommend Eucalyptus Tree Services for landscaping needs.

Having never been to a chiropractor in my life , I must admit I was sceptical . In desperation , after being in pain for over a month , I was at my wits end . I phoned and begged for an appointment . Louise at reception was very kind and empathetic , she got me an appointment that same day .
Dr Jake listened carefully while I described my pain ( and apprehension ) and assured me he could help me . Dr Jake is knowledgeable and compassionate , he is gentle and thorough , he explained everything along the way and even taught me self care exercises I can do on my own . Shara is so amazing with the dogs. I have been going to Divine Canine for 6 years. My dog can get nervous in some situations, but loves going to see Shara. She is very kind, and reads the dogs very well. I wont go anywhere else!
I am so sad we won’t have Serendipty on the mainland anymore. I have a senior dog and a puppy, both have had amazing experiences with the mobile grooming. I have nothing but great things to say about this business. Highly recommend using them.
We have been taking our 4 year old terrier mix to get groomed by Chanel for a few years now and are beyond pleased with her services each and every visit. Millie comes home beautifully groomed, nails trimmed and a wagging tail. I highly recommend Chanel as she is so kind, gentle and professional!
Wildtales has been a lifesaver for my husky puppy! He loves coming and playing multiple times a week and it gives me a break! I can't recommend Lars enough. Being involved in sports my entire life, I've gone for hundreds of deep tissue massages over the years. Lars is the best massage therapist I have ever been to, bar none. He builds up the pressure well and gets to your problem areas. His broad frame allows him to apply constant, deep pressure and his knowledge about muscles, fascia, origins and insertions is impressive to say the least. He's your guy, just make the appointment.

I started seeing Shirley when I was experiencing random food sensitivities that would come and go. She was very thorough in the first visit and asked about symptoms I had that I didn't realize were symptoms but were all connected to the same issues. I've been seeing her regularly for teas, moxibustion and acupuncture treatments. She's helped me almost completely get rid of anxiety and back pain as well as balancing my menstrual cycles. I have had opportunities to know the magic of accupuncture and for a person with medical training, it really does seem like magic in that results can be felt within the same day of a treatment, especially with Willa.
I recently had a swollen lymph node along my jawline that receded within hours of a treatment. I have also had immediate effect on muscle related low back pain. I think that the treatment works by decreasing inflammation and restoring blood flow to the painful area. I find Willa to be empathetic, gentle and warm. She truly cares about my emotional well being as well as my physical symptoms. I count Willa as part of my healthcare team. Team Laura!

My son took 4 lessons with Street Wise Driving School. Surinder had a very calm approach. He gave great feedback on driving tips, key safety skills that improved his confidence behind the wheel and helped him pass his road test the first time. We booked a road test from a cancellation, and on short notice he was very accommodating and quick to return texts. I would recommend him for lessons.
