I have worked in health care for over 50 years, and have not encountered an organization this consistently outstanding. Every encounter and every provider was available, compassionate, and completely addressed our concerns and needs. The phone calls in the middle of the night, questions, nursing visits, and personal care assistance were all handled promptly and effectively. There is no way to describe the comfort of having my phone calls answered immediately by a real person and most often by a registered nurse. Whatever was needed to maintain comfort and dignity through the entire process was provided. I could not have been more satisfied. Teri has been teaching my husband and I for two years. We’ve loved learning from her and wholly recommend her as an instructor. She is incredibly approachable and positive yet has quite a discerning eye and ability to constructively correct us.
We’ve taken her Simply Social group classes and as a result feel comfortable dancing together at weddings and parties. We've also loved taking her beginner ballroom group classes. All of her group classes are collaborative and as a result, we have made a number of friends through her studio. Teri also arranged for her students to perform at a local assisted living facility which was fun for everyone involved.
In our private lessons, Teri choreographed an Argentine Tango for us that we performed at a dinner party. She has also been helping us improve our technique in the Latin dances. We used to think of dance mainly as moving feet here and there but have learned that there are so many other details from posture to knee and toe position that enhances the overall look. She’s brought us so far in our dance journey that we plan to begin bronze medal testing this summer and competing shortly thereafter.
Teri can tailor her teaching to the dancing hopes of any couple or single person. Do yourself a favor and take some dance lessons with Teri. You'll have fun and learn to dance!

I’ve had Nicole do my hair for a couple years now and she always does a beautiful job regardless of what it is! I’ve done highlights, platinum blonde, black with money pieces and curtain bangs, pink , you name it. She’s hands down the best stylist I’ve ever had because she always delivers what I’m looking for in a way that I can maintain and keep my hair healthy.

Struggled finding a barber who could manage my cowlicks until finding samsons. Andrew has been cutting my hair for the past couple months. I see him for a full cut ever 4 weeks with an express cut in between. When I sit down he asks if I want the same cut and conversation picks up exactly where it left off.

Lynn has been cutting my hair for many years. Several years ago I moved and tried several barbers that were closer to home but now am making the longer trip back to Oakwood.
During this pandemic, I lost a lot of hair and as a woman that can be so so so tragic! So I made the decision to cut my hair very short and just start going natural using limited products. I met Jerome, he hooked me up and I feel freer than I ever have! His care and concern and attention to detail is so awesome. I have got to get over there and get another cut soon! I like the style and I’m going to keep going with it! My grandson was so impressed he started going over there to get his beard trimmed on the regular!Thank you Rob‘s barbershop!

Nice tanning salon
Very nice people but since leaving this review I have been met with locked doors on multiple occasions during posted operating hours. This can be frustrating when you can't access the salon after paying for it, and during what you understand as normal operational hours.
This is the only tanning place I will go! They are awesome! It is always super clean, I can usually get in and out quickly, and the staff is super knowledgeable. Kenzie is amazing! She helped us understand the difference between the different tanning beds and remembered us from before. I can't say enough good things!
EDIT: since new ownership (no longer UTan) I have absolutely zero complaints. The new beds are phenomenal. Staff is great per usual. 10/10 recommend————Great place overall, but if you’re on a schedule or driving out only for the purpose of tanning, you might want to call to check if they’re open first… Especially if you’re someone like myself who only visits a couple times a month at most. Their hours seem to change quite often, specifically on the weekends, and their hours posted on the building don’t always match up with what’s posted online — whether it’s Google, their website, or their social media. There have now been 4 occasions over the last year where they’ve been closed when I got there, but it said they were open online, or I was going off of a photo I took of their hours posted on the building in the previous weeks. Otherwise, the staff is always super nice and the place is pretty clean.

Patty was absolutely lovely to speak with and highly professional. She took time to go into detail about all aspects of permanent makeup procedure, to fully ensure you had a good understanding of it. I had taken a lot of time and thought into looking for a permanent makeup artist and I highly recommend reaching out to her for any of it. I love how FeeFee does my eyebrows, I asked her to leave them as thick as possible and she delivered. My brows grow uneven and she was effortlessly able to even them out in a way that looked natural and remained thick. Great time! $76 for 2 hours midday on a weekday. Staff were friendly and informative. The sound system worked great even with my old glitchy phone. We were in the English Countryside outdoor hot tub garden. It was very cute and well maintained—they were cleaning as soon as we were out of there so it’s clear they take cleanliness and maintenance seriously. We were worried it might be a little hokey, but it was a lovely relaxing experience and we’re glad we went. We will be back, 10/10 recommend.

TaBetha did a fantastic job on our hair and makeup for my wedding! My makeup stayed all day through eating, drinking, sweating and crying. It was still easy to take off at the end of the night. My hair also stayed really well. TaBetha was great at helping me figure out what I wanted for makeup, as I wasn't totally sure.
Loved working with Nick! I brought in a tattoo idea I'd been planning since 2022 and he completely elevated it and I couldn't be happier with the results. I really appreciated his honesty about my original idea and his guidance about what would and wouldn't work in the long run and how it would heal, while still creating something that feels true to my what I wanted.
The shop has a great atmosphere, it's very clean, and despite the pain I enjoyed my sessions! I'm already thinking about what I want next time I get the opportunity for a new tattoo. Can't recommend them enough!
I got my first tattoo here and had the best experience! It was during one of their flash days so I had no idea what to expect, but Mae was awesome! They were so patient and talked through the entire process, gave a rundown of red flags to look out for, checked in repeatedly during the tattooing and gave a really clear breakdown of aftercare. The tattoo itself is gorgeous and I’d get another in a heartbeat. Highly recommend going here, but especially if it’s your first one!

We chose the RIGHT team for the installation of our Generac standby Generator! Tom and his crew did a great job with our purchase, install and even after care. We feel very fortunate to have found this team so close to our home from acceptance on first meeting - I might add- Tom is honest and knows his business. It was not cheap but I feel safe knowing how the weather is changing even in winter. We felt strongly enough that we didn’t need to get any additional estimates- they deserve TEN stars if it were available. We now know we have Electrical experienced crew to use when we need one!
Update!!! July 4 at 10:20 pm, our power went out. After 30 seconds, our generator kicked on and all is good! We’ve only had it installed 30 hours prior to this outing and it stayed on until 0519 hrs on 7/5!!!!! Thank you Tom and Team Waggoner!!!

Capstone is great. Super nice people to work with. I doubt any human would say that a remodel is easy, because it is not. It is so hard being displaced from a kitchen and having to come home everyday to people in your space. But, if you want to make the leap, and get a wonderful upgrade to your living space, this is the team you want.

I really want to thank the gentleman that came out yesterday. It did takes 2 weeks to get someone. But, he fixed our sub box for a good price. When he could have easily said. Replace the whole thing. Which would have cost 6k+ because of all the work that needs to be done to bring everything up to current code. I can't even imagine what it would have cost honestly. Our house is a mess.

Nathan and his crew were fantastic—professional, respectful, and did an outstanding job on my yard. His irrigation team installed a sprinkler system I can control from my phone, which is incredibly convenient. The new landscape bed looks beautiful, and the grass is already starting to come in nicely. They’ll be following up in a couple of weeks to make sure the lawn fills in completely. Overall, I’m very happy with the results!

One of the most stressful periods of my life was when my retaining wall fell. Bob was confident, drew up a wonderful hybrid plan of half retaining wall, half natural wall so I could have a driveway to the bottom part of my property which I never had. Excellent landscaper! We purchased a new home with our lot leveled off when we closed on late fall. By early spring it was a mess since nothing could be done with it over the winter. We hired a company to seed the lawn and they recommended Jim Frommann to prepare our lot for seeding. Our lot had ruts in it from heavy rain from the gutters into our yard since it's just dirt, along with small rocks and branches. Frommann's did an excellent job of clearing out lot of weeds along with the rocks and branches. They also put extra dirt around the sidewalk, driveway and back patio so it's all a nice smooth surface. We also hired them to bury our downspouts to prevent more ruts forming when it rains. We are very pleased with the wonderful job they did. They've also done several other homes in the neighborhood and we all look great! I highly recommend them. All of their workers did a fantastic job.

Total Tree Services is absolutely amazing!!! This is the second time I have used their service and they went above and beyond to clean up the area where the trees were removed, plus more. Dr. Prater is my go-to chiropractor in the Kalamazoo area. When it comes to chiropractors I am a skeptic, too many make unfounded promises and try to sell you on expensive packages, this is NOT Dr. Prater. Dr. Prater takes an evidence-based approach and not only provided excellent care during my visit, but also equipped me with the tools and knowledge to continue my rehab at home. It may be another few years before I return, but I will always be returning to Dr. Prater's practice when necessary!

BEST CHIROPRACTOR IN KALAMAZOO!!! I am a 47 year old woman with Ankylosing Spondylitis and several bulging discs. I have had numbness is my left foot for several months and was told by my physician I needed a disc fusion in my lower back. The new owners, whoever they are, are waay more expensive so I can not go there for vet care. Maybe for a rabies shot, but new patients have to pay 75 for first appt. It does get taken off what you have done and then you pay the rest. Maybe thats typical?

Kate has helped me overcome lingering shoulder pain through a multitude of different massage techniques, stretching, trigger point therapy, and rehab exercises. Her skilled guidance is a different and more holistic approach from other massages I’ve had, where she applies her years of experience to assign helpful exercises to resolve problem areas that need more support outside of the session. Reducing chronic pain is wonderful. Additionally, she is a quite knowledgeable about many subjects and very interesting to speak with. Highly recommend.

I have had a surprisingly long history with physical therapy for a 20 year old but in all that time I can’t think of an experience as helpful and enjoyable as with Karri Porco and her team at Athletico PT in Kalamazoo! I was listened to and left much better than I came in. Because of this I plan to return to Karri after my upcoming surgery as well as all my other physical therapy needs in the future as long as I’m in the Kalamazoo area.
