Heidi was professional, competent, and present during the session! I have had therapists who I could kind of tell were texting with one hand and massaging with the other, but Heidi was physically and mentally present the whole time. I really liked how she paid special attention to my areas of need while also giving an overall thorough massage.

Dr. Walters is extremely thorough and professional As well as extremely personable. Today he got me in to be seen within 2 hours of my calling. What I thought might have been a serious eye issue despite the fact he was fully booked and heading for vacation. Whenever I see him I feel like I have gotten the best care possible.
Keith and his family did an amazing job with my high school’s 10 year reunion! Keith was very responsive, accommodating, and understanding! The food was delicious (I LOVED the chicken skewers, taco bites, and the cupcakes were a crowd favorite) and the presentation was wonderful! They had water set out for us, put the toothpicks I brought into the cupcakes, and were constantly cleaning up plates when people finished, keeping the space nice and everyone happy!
Keith responded to all my emails and phone calls in a very timely manner, which isn’t always the case with venues, and when I needed to change the date he was so accommodating to that.
I also wanted to mention that they have a speaker system in the ceiling and they played some music for our event since we didn’t have any! Again, very accommodating!

I had such a great experience at Dathan Hunter. I was in town filming for work, and needed a place that could style my hair well, after I'd had a bad haircut elsewhere. Not only did they give me a beautiful blow out and style, they actually fixed my haircut! It was totally beyond my expectations. I would consider visiting Portland much more often just for my hair!

I've seen Kari twice now, and had i planned better, i could (and would have) made sure to schedule her for my wedding styling + makeup. My hair has been damaged since 2017 and she's brought it to life over the last two visits (6+ months apart). She was able to take my inspo (ai generated at first, then pinterest second time) in mind as well as explaining what would work and wouldn't with my texture, length and goals. I left the salon looking like Kate Middleton and seriously felt like i was on top of the world. I did not take any pictures, but please believe me i looked FIRE. Also, she gave me recommendations for makeup products since i was going to do my own makeup for my wedding, and every rec hit SO GOOD. If Kari ever leaves this practice, i may consider moving to follow her because she's transformed me into the best version of myself.
Kate was gentle and knowledgeable with my curly hair. She wasn't at all afraid of my curls as most salons are, and she knew exactly how to dry cut, and comb through my curls. She also did not push salon products on me, but was honest, encouraging, and so down to earth.
I've been a regular of Thea's for about 15 years and always get my hair cut and eyebrows waxed there. Even though I don't live in Maine anymore, whenever I'm up here, I make sure to get an appointment with Thea. You just can't beat the prices and meticulous work!

Recently had the privilege to sit in Mark’s chair as I visited the Nest for the first time. Won't be a walk-in again - will be setting appointments with Mark. It had been quite some time since a haircut (things were a bit disheveled, especially the beard) so I briefly mentioned up front the goal, sat back and enjoyed the company - didn’t see the mirror til completion - and I was amazed. I’ve been a customer of Portland Nails since Lindsay and Yung opened this shop 10 years ago in my neighborhood. I no longer live in Portland, but still exclusively come here for my mani/pedis. These two are sweet, keep the shop so clean, and give excellent service. My nails look so beautiful when I leave and their massages are extra long! Note: make an appointment ahead of time rather than walking in. It’s just the two of them and they have many long-standing customers so they’re often quite busy!
There is truly no one better than Anna! I have never been happier with my nails than working with her!!!!!!! For years I have struggled to find a consistent nail tech as each one has under delivered on quality or I left with my nails in poor shape. Not only does Anna do INCREDIBLE work, but she also has such a deep knowledge of nails and products. Her top priority is making sure my nails look great and are also staying healthy. I had an amazing manicure experience with Maeve! I chose the dipping powder option and I’m so glad I did. She did everything so gently and naturally - no harsh filing, no drill, which I really appreciated because I’m always nervous about electric nail tools. The result was perfect!!!! Stronger than gel, but lighter and more natural than acrylic. My nails looked beautiful, felt comfortable, and the shape was flawless. Great space and clean place, stylist Donna Jean is amazing with color! They validate parking in the next door lot to reduce the cost of parking, you still pay some, but not all, which is very nice! It makes getting your hair done in Portland as convenient as going somewhere that has their own parking lot. And, I love my hair!

I can literally not say enough good things about Beauty by Joniece. I've been going now for a few months and have never been more pleased with my eyebrows. Back in high school I used to get them waxed with the cloth strips and they were wicked painful so I started plucking them myself, overplucked it once and screwed up the shape. Took me years to get them back to normal length and now Joniece has restored my trust in someone waxing them and that my brows can be twin sisters not fraternal cousins . She uses her own special wax and some how afterwards I'm not super puffy and it doesn't hurt. She really is a magician and has created a wonderful day spa/waxing studio. Trust me you must go to Beauty by Joniece.

Cameron is the best. After an hour long facial I’m left feeling refreshed and hydrated. We started with an essential oil scented foot bath and then on to the main event! This winter has ruined my hands so the silver lining of this experience is the hand warmers that keep you cozy through out your cleanse, mask, and massage. If you need a hour to yourself this is a great way to spend it.
My fiancé and I booked a couples session for our anniversary and this was the best massage I've ever had! My massage therapist was Elise and Vanessa worked on my partner - both of them were 10/10.
We added hot stones for both of us and I got the CBD oil treatment and the add-ons were definitely well worth it. I would highly recommend either Elise or Vanessa and even the front desk receptionist was wonderful. If we ever visit Portland again, I would definitely come back here again!

Braxton is absolutely amazing at capturing my ideas and turning them into ink! I love his illustrative style and recommend him to anyone looking for a tattoo artist. Tattoos are obviously a big commitment and it can be intimidating to get one, but he is great at working with you every step of the way and making sure you are 100% comfortable with the design. Stopped in for a Hearts Bandit flash tattoo in February and had a great experience with Nick. He was able to squeeze me and three friends in as walk-ins, which we really appreciated. The whole process was smooth and welcoming, and Nick made us feel comfortable right away. He did a great job with the tattoos — clean lines, great placement, and exactly the style we were hoping for. We all love our heart tattoos. It was also really cool knowing the event supported a local cause. Overall, an awesome tattoo experience and we’d definitely come back.

Thirteen of us spent a few days in Maine for a girls weekend. To commemorate a fun weekend, seven of us decided to get tattoos. I reached out to Steve explaining what everyone wanted with as much details as possible. Steve loved the idea of a group tattoo and was excited to tattoo all of us. We got to the shop and he had the stencils already drawn with a few other ideas. He even went as far as offering great advice on placement and design of tattoos.

I was specifically seeking a realistic field-guide illustration of a bird, and when Ryan was done it looked better than I could have imagined. Got my septum pierced by Andy yesterday and while I have to say since the owner is no longer in shop I was a little nervous to come back I have to say andy made all those worries go away was very knowledgeable and nice he was already working on someone else before I came in but finished up very timely and that customer was just a happy as I am now which definitely made me feel better when it came to the process he was very to the point and skilled quite easily being able to find my sweet spot made the piercing painless and go very well very glad I came back and plan on coming for more thank you love your work!

Jason et al did a terrific job on my recent kitchen refresh. James & Kevin were meticulous with the installation, taking care to consider how best to work around my unlevel, unplumb, unsquare space. When unexpected problems came up with other aspects of the project, Jason talked me through the options and adjusted the schedule so there would be as little disruption as possible. Despite the inevitable challenges, Jason's team brought the project in on time and on budget. They were a pleasure to work with, and I am very happy with my new kitchen. [Jason's crew did a great job on some exterior repairs on my home a few years ago, which was why he was the first contractor I called for this project. I highly recommend them!]
I would not recommend that anyone do business with this company. First install floor was squeaky, second attempt still squeaky and cut walls removing waterproof design. Third attempt installed a stronger floor and no longer squeaky. This was over a 3 month period. The did not seem to care and manager acted like we should just accept it. Please spend your money somewhere else. They did call and made things right. Ty

This practice has genuinely changed my relationship with dental care. Never any judgement or pressure, always patience and kindness. They have never given up on me even when I get off track, which is saying a lot because I only ride the hot mess express through life. Having their continued partnership in my care after all these years and means more to me than I can put into words.
Every single person that works there is a treasure, especially the 8th wonder of the world Sophany. Every cleaning feels like a new set of teeth. She is a marvel.

Services are done timely, the hygienist was thorough and explained everything she was talking about in relation to my needs. I had to switch providers but this was a good switch. I’m glad they were open to new clients.

Madisyn, Katie, and Dr. Lessard were fantastic - each of them explained what was going to happen every step of the way, were kind, and were very gentle. I was incredibly anxious and they were nothing but understanding. By the end of the appointment, I was wholly comfortable. I highly recommend this practice! :)

I came to Portland Chiropractic Neurology after dealing with daily lower back and neck pain that affected almost every part of my life. Sitting comfortably was difficult, sleeping was uncomfortable, and I had stopped being able to do many of the things I enjoy.
After just 6 weeks and 12 visits, I’m pain free. I’m sleeping better than I have in years and can finally sleep in any position. I’m lifting weights again, doing yard work, and even simple things like standing and sitting no longer come with that constant nagging pain.

I saw three chiropractors before I met Dr. Vela. The other chiropractors said they knew how to help me and made adjustments, but my headaches didn't go away. On the first visit with Dr. Vela he made an adjustment and my headache (that I had for at least twelve years) went away. It took several follow up visits and reminders to keep doing the required exercises, but I've hit a point in chiropractic care where I can stay pain free all on my own. I would still have horrible headaches if it weren't for Dr. Vela and his team. Best Chiropractor in Portland, hands down.
I have been to A LOT of chiropractors. Dr. Raymond is hands-down the best there is. He is knowledgeable far beyond the scope of a typical chiropractor, caring and compassionate, and his treatments resolve issues. I cannot recommend him highly enough.
Wendy is a great practitioner.... one of a kind. She's a careful listener and wants to know about all aspects of your life, as she factors in what may be contributing to your physical symptoms. She'll take the time to hear out your story. Wendy has more in her toolbox than other chiropractors I've experienced...such as homeopathy, nutrition, and attunement. Wendy is definitely an out-of-the-box thinker who can tackle problems others are baffled by. Wendy's love for her work shines through. She's helped me a lot, so I highly recommend her.

The good news: Christopher McBride is great: his treatments are better than other chiropractors I have visited in my life. My severe neck pain was eliminated by a few visits. His receptionist, Robin, is also great. She makes scheduling and paying quick and easy. The bad news: Christopher's wife is in charge of his business, and all of her decisions seem to be bad ones. There is no working wi-fi for customers or staff; they don't have a working printer or fax machine; their billing program no longer works because they refuse to upgrade from Windows 7 to the latest, Windows 11; they do not maintain their office, so the stairs up to their second floor are rickety and difficult during rain or snow. And all these complaints are of long standing; his wife doesn't even care that I have offered to fix their wi-fi for free.
Absolutely LOVE this place - such good vibes all around. Amber and Gracie are the best: so knowledgeable, welcoming, and easy to trust. I’ve already seen a huge improvement in how I feel in such a short time. Couldn’t recommend more!

I have been coming here for many years. Dr. Bragg is excellent as is her nurse. Any time I have had a concern between scheduled skin checks they are able to squeeze me in.
No wonder Back Cove has the highest rating on Yelp. If I could, I’d give more stars. The staff and vets are very friendly. I have autism so them smiling a lot helps me understand how they’re feeling. I’d like the waiting room to be more “homey” but I’m not deducting stars for that since I care more about the treatment.

The waits are pretty long and the fees are expensive, but they saved my kitty's life. After our regular vet misdiagnosed her, we brought my sweet middle-aged cat here where they brought her back to health. Now, just a few days after she was about to die, she's at home and playing with her toys. She wouldn't be alive without them. I will say, they need more vets. From what I've come to understand, they may only have one actual vet there at a time, and vets that do specific testing are only there on certain days, so it may take hours to days to truly find what's wrong with your animal. Still, they didn't push us into surgeries do have official diagnoses. When it was pretty clear what was going on, they just treat the animals for that instead of trying to pressure owners into the extra testing. The fees are crazy expensive. We couldn't really afford it, but having my precious angel home and on the road to health is worth it. So, if you can't get into your regular vets and are having an emergency, from my family's experience, your animal is in good hands.

My anxious, sweet MaineCoon is much more comfortable going to a "cats only" vet. They are the best in our experience of 18 rescue cats and one purebred. Easy to make appointments and consistently competent and friendly staff.

I have had therapists who I could kind of tell were texting with one hand and massaging with the other, but Heidi was physically and mentally present the whole time. Liz Jackson is an incredibly gifted practitioner with many years experience. Not only have I seen her as a client for several years, but I also refer my patients to her regularly. A session with Liz isn't only for aches and pains, I also recommend her to anyone going through a life transition, feeling disconnected from themselves, their bodies or their purpose. When you have a session with Liz, it goes beyond a 'regular' massage - you will experience deep shifts not only in how you feel in your body, but how you feel mentally and emotionally. When I see Liz for a session, I tell her to just do her thing - I don't even need to tell her what's off or needing attention. Her intuition is spot on and she always seems to know just where to focus each session and which techniques to employ (massage, cranial-sacral work or reiki). You will feel immediately at ease with Liz and after that first session - you'll want to keep coming back (just don't take my slot ;) )!
Sue is incredibly intuative with her massages, spending lots of time on my problem areas. Methodically erasing knots built up from sitting entirely to long on flights. Portland is lucky to have her!
Joe is an amazing massage therapist. I first went to see him for lymph and circulation support while on antibiotics for a tick bite - working with him really speeded my return to feeling well. Joe is personable and while on the table has soft music playing and tends not to talk unless conversation is initiated by the client. (He will, however, check in to be sure that the pressure of his massage is comfortable to your needs!) Joe is considerate and very intuitive.
Besouro provides more than a massage. This is an experience. He not only thoroughly massages and relaxes your muscles, he stretches joints, invites positive energy into your experience, and warms you with chi. His office is very private and comfortable, cozy and smelling of calming incense. Besouro is wonderful massage therapist and genuinely values your input before, during, and after your treatment, which isn't as common as one might think. He is a perceptive individual with real integrity and simply asks that you come forward with the same. A truly lovely experience!

I had my 2nd 90 minute massage with Laila today. And again it was absolutely one of the best massages I've ever had! She read my tense old body well and did the most amazing work using a combination of swedish relaxation massage and other pressure techniques that release a lot of tense muscles. Especially my most tense muscles in my back, neck, shoulders, and glutes. She even showed me some stretches for my tight piraformis muscles. I
will definitely be booking future massage with Laila, and highly recommend her work.

I recently had my first acupuncture session with Alexa Gilmore, and although I was initially apprehensive because of a past acupuncture experience, she immediately put me at ease. I went to see her for a combination of symptoms. After just one treatment, I noticed real results. I slept better, felt noticeably calmer, and even my shoulder felt a bit looser and less painful.
