Went here for my wedding nails and they all did an amazing job. We had 5 people and they all took their time and made us feel special. I had no idea what I wanted and the nail tech spent time talking me through and showing me different options. Now a week later my nails still look amazing and my feet are still so soft. I don't know what magic they did but highly recommend!!!
I happened upon Oasis Nails and was delighted to be given a walk-in appointment. My mani-pedi was great! They showed careful attention to detail, gave a really good massage and sugar scrub and the utensils were clean and new. I wish I was local ... this would definitely become my go-to nail salon.

H&E paint bar is one of the more fancy nail salons in Portland. The prices reflect the luxury experience and they do a fantastic job.I always opt for the dazzle dry polish as it lasts 3-4 weeks with no chipping, and doesn’t damage my nails.
She is awesome, but the nails started falling off. The same day they were put on and she didn't push my cuticles back. Also the gelPolish peeled off of them.

I’m currently in Portland, ME for 3 months on a business trip, and my hair was starting to look like an oompa-loompa’s. I was referred to Iliana and boy, did she deliver! Not only were she and Dathan super meticulous, they were a fun duo.This isn’t your typical salon with 12 chairs and 4 different people’s hands touching you. This was a white glove service, where they handled the process cradle-to-grave. They gave me the sexiest baby lights, brought up my balayage, toned the orange with different glosses, and gave me a trim. Dathan helped Ili with basics, but overall, she knew what she was doing! The price was reasonable compared to the West Coast, especially since I was there for 3 hrs. I felt incredibly relaxed and they gave me awesome suggestions for a potential elopement. Wow! Heather is TOP NOTCH! I had some hair trauma from my past salon and she talked me through how we could get to where I wanted to be. She NAILED my blended color and topped it off with a nice easy maintenance cut. To make all things even better she was super easy to talk to and made me very comfortable. I was a walk-in because I’m traveling and the stylist told me he could squeeze me in between appointments. I was fine with that. He moved fast but I walked out so happy and feeling good. I’m queer, which many people will understand makes a good haircut hard to find, especially a spontaneous walk-in. He totally nailed it. I was kind of shocked. I’m saying ‘he’ because I can’t remember his name now.
My hair is not carefree. It's a Tough Mudder event that quickly separates the pretty good stylists from the rock stars. Bri Pottle is a rock star, She is a very talented colorist who also knows how to cut wavy/curly hair and can generally make troublesome locks behave. She istens carefully to what you want then quietly goes about making it happen . On top of it all, she is a lovely person with an easy manner who is fun to be around. I feel lucky to have Bri Pottle as my stylist!
I couldn’t have chosen a better person to do my hair and makeup for my 10/14/23 wedding! Right from the trial, Kong was very receptive to what I liked and didn’t like and had so many suggestions for what she thought would compliment my hair and face best. Her main focus was making sure I was happy with how I looked and I couldn’t have been any happier with how the whole morning went. All of my bridesmaids and mother of groom/bride kept telling me how amazing their experience was with Kong as well. She made sure everybody felt comfortable while in her chair. I 100% recommend Kong for any and all bridal needs!

I don’t usually write reviews, but I’m BLOWN away days later with my haircut. My stylist was Nina who was absolutely incredible. We chatted throughout the entire haircut and she was so so kind and made me feel so comfortable. This is my third time getting bangs and usually I hate them after a few days, but I’m so obsessed with how she cut them. She was incredible and lavender is incredible.
I will forever rave about Eunoia and Dylan. It was my first time ever getting my hair cut in a salon and Dylan blew my expectations out of the water. He started by listening to my likes and dislikes, goals, and things I would like to learn about. The entire time he offered extremely helpful information about how to care for my hair and what it was like and was open and nonjudgmental to any questions I had. The salon itself was serene and Dylan's gentle work made me feel incredibly relaxed and comfortable. Beyond all of this, he transformed my hair from a long mane that had only ever been cut straight across, to a beautiful mid length cut that was shaped perfectly to my features. I've struggled significantly with my self-image in the past and I am overjoyed to say that since my cut and style with Dylan, I feel confident and beautiful. I say that with the utmost sincerity and gratitude. Overall, Eunoia and Dylan didn't just give me a haircut, I was gifted an experience that left me smiling from ear to ear the entire time.

I have been cutting my own hair for several years but I'd been frustrated with my inability to properly later the top of my hair. My hair is very thin and it causes me a lot of insecurity. I found Kayden (kayden_b_fadin on Instagram) on the Queer Exchange Maine page and they were able to get me in pretty fast which was great, and the price was perfectly within my range. They were very sweet and friendly and made me feel comfortable and safe instantly. They also clearly listened and communicated and understood the frustration of being trans and often having barbers do whatever they want and deem to be "suitable" for the gender they decide you are even after you gave exact extractions and many photos. I got exactly what I wanted and needed and in a way that suits me well and boosts my confidence. Best cut I've ever had. Also the whole place is just awesome, it's very atmospheric and everyone there is lovely. They give you complimentary drinks and they have several flavours of Capri sun! As a 90s kid that was a real selling point. They also have a free use massage chair! Very fun and nice place, 100% suggest especially if you want a place where you will be listened to and free to express yourself as you please without being fought on it.

Randomly decided to get a tattoo and had no expectations while they went above every expectation I would ever had. It was amazing. I've gotten tattoos from Lauren and Blake and both artists and experiences were wonderful. I was immediately welcomed into the clean studio made cool and cozy by all the incredible art hung around the space. Both tattoos were beautifully executed and have healed perfectly. While I was being tattooed I noticed how kind, respectful, and encouraging the artists were with each other. As a trans person I felt incredibly safe and welcomed in this studio, which has not been the case elsewhere. The environment and service is among the finest around and I look forward to getting more tattoos here in the future.

She is phenomenal from her personality to her skills. We are currently working on a cover up project from an early 2000s chest piece.... We initially had the consult and from that conversation and photo examples I provided - Rebeka drew the perfect tattoo for me. She was able to create the perfect drawing of exactly what I wanted! My first cover up appointment consisted of line work and it went by even faster than I anticipated because Rebeka works fast and efficiently. Her line work is out of this world. Her technique is light and fast. Wow, she is literally fast af. Also, she is funny af and makes a potentially painful experience fun! I love Rebeca! The best! Xo.... I look forward to many, many more appointments!!
Steve is the best artist around. He is super professional and kind and both studios are incredibly clean and gorgeous. He has done 5 pieces for me now and every time I am more and more impressed. One of the best tattoo shops I’ve been to in Maine. Jeff is a knowledgeable, understanding, and friendly tattoo artist who I can trust to take my ideas and turn them into an amazing tattoo. Being a young woman getting tattoos, he’s always made me feel 100% comfortable throughout the process. His shop is also extremely clean and the decorations are awesome as well. I highly recommend this place.
I was recommended to Ryan by an acquaintance whose advice I would not normally follow and I must say that, for once, I'm so glad that I did. The appointment that I booked was for my mother and I to get matching tattoos behind our ears as a (delayed) Christmas present. The booking process was easy, quick, and his Melissa (his assistant) was both quick to respond and beyond on top of following up. The location itself is very easy to access and has the luxury of a parking lot which, as someone who has regularly fought for parking in the city, took a large amount of stress out of the whole process. We arrived and were immediately greeted by Ryan who was both warm and exceptionally well-dressed. He showed us his concept art and, when I requested a slight alteration to make it a bit smaller, very quickly made changes to accommodate my wants and was off to work. Ryan was quick, light handed, and offered a calming presence for my mother who quickly realized we had essentially graduated to getting neck tattoos. I personally was a huge fan of his musical offerings and, if I may say so, the man has a lovely singing voice. This was perhaps my favorite part.All in all, I look forward to booking another appointment with Ryan, and would recommend anyone looking to get work done in the area (or even from away!) to do the same. He was kind, witty, and patient (which was key here as mom and I can be a bit rowdy.) With much trepidation I decided to get my first tattoo. I called Gold Star and spoke to Justin. He encouraged me to come in to make sure that the signature I wanted would work as a tattoo. I came by on a Saturday and met Justin, he was professional and thoughtful, and so I booked an appointment with him for the following Wednesday. My tattoo was very small and significant only to me, but Justin made me feel like it was the most important work he would be doing that day. He was wonderful and made me feel completely at ease. I had no idea that getting a tattoo would be such a wonderful experience. ~ JoAnn
I wanted to get my ears pierced again after 30 years. Going into a tattoo parlor is a bit intimidating, but it seemed that there was the best expertise. I was immediately disarmed when walking in, two of the employees were reaching into the printer to unjam the paper. They succeeded, which led to printing out the correct form, which I filled out, and then I was taken to a chair, and my ears were professionally pierced, complete with instructions for care. Staff was friendly and professional.

Cameron is the best. After an hour long facial I’m left feeling refreshed and hydrated. We started with an essential oil scented foot bath and then on to the main event! This winter has ruined my hands so the silver lining of this experience is the hand warmers that keep you cozy through out your cleanse, mask, and massage. If you need a hour to yourself this is a great way to spend it.

My husband and I went here for spa treatments while on our honeymoon. Omg, it was so awesome. The owner is so sweet and hilarious! We had the 30 min hydropod and massage and a couple facial. We both wished I had booked the hour long one because the massage was sooooo awesome and the hydropod felt so good too. My face was so glowey and and bright after the facial. If I lived in Portland I would definitely be back!

What a great experience to finish a girls weekend in Portland! I do wish staff would have asked others getting soaks in larger parties to keep their voices down. Athlete's Touch now has sensory deprivation float tanks! And they are conveniently just across the hall from each massage room. It was a comfortable and seamless experience. I left very relaxed and rejuvenated. I would highly recommend massage combined with a float for a "Spa Day" over a manicure/pedicure or facial, etc.Also, If you are looking for a massage due to muscle/joint pain, this combination REALLY has an immediate positive effect.
Wow, simply incredible. Don't trust other local places who claim to do prenatal massage - this is the place to go. Jules was so attentive and caring. She is a true professional and expert. I was too nervous to book anything until I got out of the first trimester, but I'm so glad I was able to get a 90 min massage at 36 weeks. It was just what I needed for my achy legs, back, and feet, and I went ahead and booked a post-natal one as well. Can't recommend enough! Jules is the only person in the Portland area who I would trust doing a prenatal massage. You won't regret it!

By far one of the most incredible massages I’ve ever received! She’s thorough and pays special attention to alleviate the pain and tension in problem areas. 10/10 would recommend!

Liz Jackson is an incredibly gifted practitioner with many years experience. Not only have I seen her as a client for several years, but I also refer my patients to her regularly. A session with Liz isn't only for aches and pains, I also recommend her to anyone going through a life transition, feeling disconnected from themselves, their bodies or their purpose. When you have a session with Liz, it goes beyond a 'regular' massage - you will experience deep shifts not only in how you feel in your body, but how you feel mentally and emotionally. When I see Liz for a session, I tell her to just do her thing - I don't even need to tell her what's off or needing attention. Her intuition is spot on and she always seems to know just where to focus each session and which techniques to employ (massage, cranial-sacral work or reiki). You will feel immediately at ease with Liz and after that first session - you'll want to keep coming back (just don't take my slot ;) )!

Nicky is a sweetheart! I always do a deep tissue massage with her. She knows how to find those knots. I always feel much better after a session. I try to book my massage on days off so I can just relax when I get home. Plus I sleep great as well.

Great space and clean place, stylist Donna Jean is amazing with color! They validate parking in the next door lot to reduce the cost of parking, you still pay some, but not all, which is very nice! It makes getting your hair done in Portland as convenient as going somewhere that has their own parking lot. And, I love my hair!

Brenda at Adore Rouge is incredible! She did the makeup for my wedding and it was everything I had hoped for. I wanted an “enhanced” look: enough makeup to translate well in photographs but not so much makeup that it looks unnatural in person. Brenda struck the perfect balance. I have never had makeup I liked as much as the makeup I had on my wedding day. Brenda really brought out all of my best features–and did so in a way that worked perfectly for the venue and for the season. She also did my friends’ makeup, and they all looked incredible. One of my friends even said it was better than the makeup she had for her own wedding!What really amazed me, though, was how well the makeup held up. My wedding was outside and it was over 90 degrees that day. It was so hot for the first few hours, and I kept checking my makeup assuming that it had run or there were creases in my eyelids or I looked oily or something–but each time I checked it, it looked perfect. At 2:00 AM–after lots of sweating and dancing and partying, I went into the bathroom to take off my makeup and, before I did, ran back out and said to my husband “LOOK AT MY FACE MY MAKEUP LOOKS PERFECT!” He was maybe less excited than I was but admittedly impressed. This studio brings so much joy to my children and myself. Just being in the space, with the morning sun streaming in on the wooden floor and carefully curated toys and books, is a delight. And Cayce is a gem in the community. My children are attentive in class and eager to show the skills she teaches them. That's all because of her gentle guidance and ability to relate and connect with young children.
Kara's offerings and style of teaching are inspiring, heartfelt and full of pure Love and Light. I did not know what to expect, having come from a larger neighborhood yoga studio. I was skeptical of using props, but David was awesome! I came in with a sore back, and left feeling limber, and thankful that I took a risk with Portland Yoga Studio. I would highly recommend this place. And $15 for a drop-in is very affordable. My introduction to this studio was in the middle of the pandemic so I was attending virtual classes. I liked the variety of styles of the different instructors. It's great for all levels of experience and the teachers are very good at offering ways to build onto and into each position to meet you where you are that day rather than expecting that everyone is ready to jump into crow pose or wheel.Once I was able to attend in person in the heated studio, I was hooked! In the summer, it's a lower heat but still feels great. Classes aren't overly crowded which I really appreciate (I like having some personal space). Having an outdoor class overlooking the water is an extra perk for our short but glorious Maine summer. ?
I always look forward to the core classes on Wednesday night. They really try to instruct you on how to perform postures correctly during dedicated instructional classes. Well worth the monthly membership.

Needed a simple outlet installed under my kitchen sink for our disposal. Tried several electricians, a lot of businesses wouldn't even return my call. It's been over a year and a half now since we completed an extensive from-the-studs-out renovation of a 1907 building with Papi and Romano, and it just keeps getting better with age :-) We bought a magnificent apartment on the West End of Portland in December 2018 while living in California. To say that we started from the ground up is an understatement. Having chosen to work with Rick Romano and his crew from 3000 miles away, there are no words for the experience that we had and the product that they turned out. Yes, it took longer and cost more than we had anticipated, but as expected there were some nearly insurmountable challenges that came up along the way. The work provided by Rick and his crew; the extraordinary attention to detail in every single way can never be understated. They found ways to reuse every single original door and piece of hardware, while creating an entirely new space where those original doors became pocket doors, the transom windows/lights were reused in every place possible, original 1907 brick was exposed with doors realigned in the intention of John Calvin Stevens, the architect on our beautiful building, and every piece of cabinetry was created to perfection. As a design build firm, Rick and we worked out reconfiguring some of the original space and solved some issues of sound attenuation. For that we requested an outside opinion from our nephew, also an architect, who provided new and creative ideas. Rick was open to suggestions and ideas that were not his own, Chose to learn alternative ways of handling possible issues, and was gracious to a fault. He is a joy to work with (if not always the easiest guy to get a hold of :-) and every one of his subcontractors is top tier. I realize that it's been too long and that we haven't written him the review that he deserved, but it's nice to have lived in this beautiful space for some time now, and to appreciate him more every day. We cannot recommend Papi and Romano highly enough.

The team came and sanded refinished our old wood floors in just a couple of days. They were really efficient and communicated well. The final result is amazing and they look so good. I didn't know it would be possible for our floors to look as clean and new as they do.

I have been a patient for over 15 years. I visit every week and cannot imagine my life without acupuncture. Jason has helped me and my family navigate some serious health challenges over the past few years. He is incredibly caring and compassionate. I believe these treatments were the primary reason I could recover so quickly from major surgery. Because I see Jason more often than I do my PCP, we are able to try different treatments and supplements until we figure out what works for me. Ashley has been amazing to work with. I’ve been sick with long covid for almost a year and was getting worse before I started acupuncture. I was struggling to be seen by traditional medical doctors and being listened to and provided with solutions when I was seeing them. I was experiencing shortness of breath, heart irregularities, brain fog, and extreme fatigue and I was regularly bed ridden. I was anxious about needles but willing to try anything. Ashley took her time to listen to what I’d been through and tried already and eased me in to treatment. A month in, my brain fog is gone, I’m breathing better, my heart is not being weird anymore, and I can go on a walk pretty much every day. It seems like I will make a full recovery. After 6 months of physical therapy and minimal success with about a 10% increase in mobility, I sought out Alexa at Origin Center in hopes of gaining some more function after a torn bicep tendon. After a few sessions, I gained more mobility back than in the 6 months of PT. After a couple of months I had full range of motion again in my right shoulder. This is a great place with a lot of integrity.

I've had fantastic results and only wish I'd started sooner.I've been going to AHC for 4 years now, and their care plan has helped me immensely. I have repetitive motion injuries causing chronic pain in my back, neck, and shoulders. They helped identify the cause and developed an appropriate treatment plan that has been adjusted as my needs shift. While skillful chiropractic adjustment is core to the care I receive, it was never the only mode of treatment. They have always made sure to include education on how to avoid re-injury, exercises, stretches, and other strategies to treat the issues at home. Had the best experience here. Brought my cat here as a kitten 8 years ago for yearly visits and they were always kind. Recently, I brought her in due to her acting different and they found a tumor in her belly. They were supportive and helpful from the second we found out my kitty was sick. They let me know of all my options and reassured me I was making the best decisions. I know a lot of vets will tell you things to do that will benefit them but the vets here did not. They all are cat lovers and every decision I made, they told me that they would have done the same thing. They were available via email/phone with any questions and concerns the last 3 weeks penelope was alive. When we made the decision to put her down, they allowed us the time and space we needed. They walked us through the whole process and we’re so helpful and kind. It was the hardest month of my life and I am so thankful for their kindness. Highly recommend !

Spa-like, relaxing ambiance is balanced with the feeling that you are in a safe medical facility with professional standards. Booking and appointment reminders function very well. Best of all, I felt thoroughly taken care of. Nurse Brooke went above and beyond to explain the science behind the procedure and what I would experience, which was very comforting to me.
My hair is not carefree. It's a Tough Mudder event that quickly separates the pretty good stylists from the rock stars. Bri Pottle is a rock star, She is a very talented colorist who also knows how to cut wavy/curly hair and can generally make troublesome locks behave. She istens carefully to what you want then quietly goes about making it happen . On top of it all, she is a lovely person with an easy manner who is fun to be around. I feel lucky to have Bri Pottle as my stylist!
