I do not identify as the kind of person who travels multiple states for a haircut -- but Margaret has converted me. Never before had I been asked by a stylist (consultant? wizard? there has to be a better word for what she does) what I did for work, and how a cut might interact with it (!). If you are considering a change -- even a slight one -- and want a profoundly talented person to walk you through it, do make an appointment.
My appointment with Margaret was an absolute treat. I had never had my hair professionally colored before and showed up with some pretty damaged box-dyed hair which she patiently worked with. She really listens and gives one-on-one undivided attention. The studio is serene and her laid back character put me at ease. Margaret is highly skilled at what she does. I was very happy with the results and will go back!
I can't say enough about Heron Holly Studio. I am one of those people who, despite having moved to Maine almost 2 years ago, still travels across the country every few months to get my haircut by the same stylist who has cut my hair for more than a decade.
