“From our very first visit to Maine to now being Residents we love staying at the Portland Regency and still return often for a mini getaway. Having gone to The Cornell Hotel School I can’t help but notice the kind of hospitality I was trained in is vanishing in many hotels. That is not the case with The Portland Regency and why we keep returning. They have excellent attention to detail and the Staff is professional, kind, able to determine your needs quickly and if anything arises they are quick to address it above and beyond your expectations. From Andrew or Tom greeting you in Valet, to Sara and Kyle welcoming you back at the front desk, to Patrick and Johnny serving you a divine breakfast to the Housekeeping not missing a thing service is consistent! We usually stay in the king room with a deck. The rooms are nice in size and the bathroom is large with a lot of counter space. We have also stayed in a suite with a deck that was just fabulous and very quiet. Do not skip the Armory Restaurant! We have been to all the trendy places and keep coming to the Armory, even if we are just in for the day. The food is always memorable and the cocktails are refined. We will often just come for a cocktail while exploring Portland and then end up staying for a meal. Here too the table and bar service is polished. The Armory has captured that sweet spot where service and environment is approaching fine dining but without being stuffy so you can be comfortable and relax, friendly but still professional. The location of the Regency is perfect too. It’s in Old Port so you have the charming cobble street, the shops are a street over so you are not in the crowds but have quick access. You are a few streets up from the wharf but could easily walk to the Promenade, West End or East End for a long walk on a nice day. Just wonderfully centrally located. We can’t wait to visit again soon!“
