Sagres Construction was contracted to replace the water lines on Capitol Hill Washington, DC, and they did a fantastic job. The work was an extensive collaboration between DC Water and Sagres Construction and it required months of work to complete the project. I’d be remiss if I didn’t specifically thank Luka Dragacevac from Sagres and Thomas Wilson from DC Water for their outstanding direction and supervision of the project. Their communication and professionalism was second to none. Many houses had water meters in their front yards, and Sagres (specifically Luka) exercised extreme care with shrubbery and hard structures to leave any evidence of digging to a minimum, and at the end of every day they took great care to leave a very clean work site. Overall we couldn’t be happier with their work. Absolutely 5 stars

Aicha is an amazing artist who can breathe new life into my hair when I neglect it for a year. I have fine, curly hair, and I allowed it to grow long and stopped dyeing it for over a year. Aicha managed to keep my length, add in some curl-enhancing layers, and gave me a beautiful burgundy colour for the holiday season. Aland is possibly the best barber I’ve been to in the DMV area. Not only is he one of the most friendly but non-overbearing barbers I’ve met, his attention to detail is impeccable. He actually cares how you walk out of his shop looking rather than how quickly he can get you out of the seat. Cannot overstate how much I recommend.

I randomly found Alex on the app and didn’t expect much since the price was low. But after my first visit, I was truly impressed by his skills. Since then, I’ve been going to him every time and I don’t plan on changing that.

He then gave me a beautiful cut, tailored to the shape of my head and face that snatched my chin and left me looking sleek and elegant. Friday after work I called to see if they had an availability for a walk-in and they were able to take me right away. I got a basic combo manicure and pedicure. They were very sweet and offered me a drink as soon as I sat down. The spa is very spacious and very clean. They also have a big wall of color options to choose from. I felt the nail tech was very thorough and efficient with my nails and I was really pleased with the quality. Will definitely return here!

I just moved to the area and I'm so happy to say that I've found my place for eyebrow tinting!! I have red/auburn hair and so getting the right tint to compliment my skin/hair can be difficult. I've had prior experiences at different places that tinted them way too dark, almost black, as well as tinted way too light that you couldn't even tell I had anything done to them at all. During my appointment I informed Natalia of this and she said she knew exactly what to do. She explained that light brown would be too light for me and dark brown can appear black sometimes, especially with my skin/hair. She explained that she would mix colors and come up with something that worked for me. And she nailed it!! A true expert, I absolutely recommend her!

where do I begin!? my birthday spa day experience was everything that I could've hoped for. 5 years coming. 5 hours of service. 55th Birthday loading. my universe aligned for this very moment. started with a massage by Dain. those arm and leg pulls were everything! I have a neck sensitivity and he had me so relaxed that I didn't flinch once! he even massaged my ears! that was a pleasant surprise. I would've expected that during the facial, if at all. massage was followed by a facial by Markiah. she throughly cleansed my face and offered some products to use for my skin type. then she massaged, moisturized, and gave my hands a heat treatment. that was yet another unexpected surprise. after each service i was greeted with some water by my attendants waiting outside the rooms. everything was so clean and organized. Ciara had set aside an hour for me to enjoy lunch. I requested sushi (my favorite). it was ordered and delivered to the spa. Ciara set me up comfortably in the serenity room. I enjoyed my meal in a peaceful environment while reading and reflecting. after lunch I had a manicure and pedicure by Nila. she song happy birthday to me in Phillipino and gave me her Nutty Buddy ice cream cone to enjoy during my pedicure. it was a very nostalgic moment for me. growing up in the 70s, eating one of my memorable childhood treats. the salt scrub, paraffin wax, and hot towels added to the experience. the restrooms were clean. the locker room was very inviting. offering showers, toiletries, robes, and slides/shoes. like real shoes! lol. I didn't explore the whole facility but saw various products display areas. I mostly floated from room to room. lol. and at the end of my services. (I could've hung out til closing. they have blankets and pillows on the couches in the serenity room.) Ciara gave me a gift bag (I can't wait to open it). it made me realize the importance of taking the time for self care and I plan to make a spa visit part of a monthly ritual. the facility is BEAUTIFULLY decorated and inviting. if I was to have one "con" it would be the inner rooms decor. its basically bed or chair and service supplies. some plants, stones, or something of that nature would've definitely added to the inviting environment. but thats something very slight as 99% of the times your eyes are closed!!! lol. I've had two tattoos with Faka, a few years apart, and both experiences were great. I love the feel of the shop - they have a huge door they open on nice days and it's bright and airy in there.
Faka is super attentive to the ideas you have in your brain while also considering the location and actual execution of them to ensure it looks right on your body. They also offer touch ups within a certain time period to make sure you love your piece.
My first one was on my back and pretty easy to sit through, but my second one was on my ribs and required a few quick breaks. Faka was super understanding.
My rib piece was a sentimental one and Faka focused on keeping the nature of my pop's handwriting true to his style. Thanks so much, I'll always recommend MST to my friends!

John is very thorough and thoughtful. He helped us find and understand a mysterious slow leak. Once he located it, he drove to the local hardware store to grab tub and tile silicone to fix it. I appreciated that when he removed two small sections of drywall, he did so cleanly enough that we could just pop them back in without needing to buy new drywall. We’ll just need to patch up the seams. Once he was done, he even used a dustpan to tidy up behind his work.
Kieran, the Irish plumber is the plumber you need to call. He is professional, highly skilled in the plumbing trades and fair. You’re charged a fair price. He doesn’t come in and try to upsell you on jobs that supposedly need to be done before they can preform the job you brought them in to do. I’m an old man and I’ve had bad plumber experiences on both coast. Kieran, the Irish plumber is our go to guy for any and all plumbing jobs.

I am very pleased with the work done at my house. Olvin Hernandez discovered the source of the burning smell I had been experiencing. He tracked it to melting insulation wire coming into my panel box. They came out and fixed it as soon as they got the permit. I no longer have to worry about that causong a fire.

Electricians arrived on time and did a fabulous job. Hired them to install 5 light fixtures and 3 dimmers. Foyer chandelier is two stories high and Staircase pendant light 12 ft high. Also installed dining room chandelier and two semi flush hall lights. They helped me determine height and cleaned up area nicely. Highly recommend!

We just used Kolb Electric for the third time and I was reminded of how fabulous their service is, from our initial call, to an estimate and then the excellent completed work. In our previous home, they upgraded an electric panel, put in a surge protector, and saved our house from disaster just in time. They were efficient, kind, and solved the problem with one visit. Three summers ago, they put in an extra circuit in our current home to run for a hot tub/swim spa. They came back once the spa was installed to connect it. They were again helpful, accommodating, and very patient when the spa arrived late. Flash forward to this week- we just had two whole house surge protectors put in. Another company installed a brand-new AC system a few weeks ago, and then a bad storm fried the control panel. The AC company fixed it and suggested we get whole house surge protector. Yet again, Kolb Electric to the rescue. They arrived right on time, completed the work, and cleaned up after themselves. My husband was here with them, when I arrived home, they even offered to help me carry my groceries! Every experience we’ve had with them has been lovely and we will continue to use them for all our electrical needs. Kolb Electric has consistently done amazing work for us and they are our go to electric company!

I first called because the handle on microwave broke off and the dryer stopped working. Ben came that same day. While here, he kindly dislodged a shelf in the fridge that was stuck and opened up the rubber cover of the garbage disposal for better drainage—all with no charge. He installed a fan in the dryer, but it turned out also to need a new motor. He ordered the motor and microwave handle and came back 3 working days later to finish these tasks. The price was reasonable. Because he had to come out twice for the dryer, he did not charge labor the second time. He was courteous, efficient, and in the end totally effective, saving me hundreds of dollars for a new microwave and dryer. If I had any wish, it would be to clean up the floor after his work, but I think cleaning is not part of most service these days. He did remove old parts and boxes. He also found lots of coins under the dryer and bothered to pick them up for us. I would not hesitate to call him again if I needed his services and I recommend him to every one. You don’t always find someone as competent and responsive as Mo Ben.

We just had a meticulous cleaning of our air ducts and clothes dryer (and outside vent), along with the installation of a small cage to prevent birds from entering our dryer hose. The work was very much needed and we are very pleased with our results. Luis and Josue were very diligent with great attention to detail, and Luis carefully explained the entire process and provided a status update during the 2.5+ hour cleaning process. My experience with Omar for area rug cleaning was excellent. After some research, and seeing so many bad reviews for other companies, I decided to try Omar’s rug cleaning. He was quick to respond and communicate throughout the process. It was easy to schedule the free of charge at home rug pick up. And my rugs were cleaned much faster than I thought they would be. But more importantly, Omar was knowledgeable about rugs and provided helpful information about how they would clean them and how I can take care of them going forward. I cannot say enough about the great experience we had with Moore Construction Group; we actually used them twice. Our project was large enough that we split it into two, with about a six month gap in between. We absolutely would use them again. We have a 98-year-old home that has seen its share of poorly completed repairs and renovations over the decades. Nate, Rachel, and Marco worked hard to help us complete back-permitting, multiple repairs/remediation, as well as a nearly-whole-home renovation. The end result is even better than we could have imagined.
There are three main reasons to use Moore Construction Group. First, everything will be permitted and inspected, giving homeowners peace of mind. They are well known to the city of Alexandria and will do everything up to code, with inspections passed quickly. Second, Rachel and Marco listen, are really responsive, and will give homeowners advice that allows the project to become even more than what the homeowners were expecting. Rachel’s layout sense and Marco’s collaboration with homeowners allows the project to move forward while also improving safety, flow and sense of space. Especially when working with old homes, this is priceless. The collaboration extends to working with small businesses preferred by the homeowner, allowing the space to be more personalized. My experience with the people here has been very satisfying. Over A year and a half ago, I came in with a bum tooth that was killing me. I was expecting to get it pulled but the dentist quickly recognized that my tooth could be saved by the dreaded root canal. Their team did xrays for me and came up with a plan to fix all my issues over the next few months as I requested to space things out. 4 root canals, 4 crowns and 4 or so fillings,who's counting, and for the first time in a long time my teeth are pain free, issue free and happy!!! Now i go in for routine cleanings and yearly xrays and am happy to see the dentist and her staff. They're all lovely people and very competent at what they do. 5stars

Dr. Suleiman is a caring and understanding chiropractor. He actually listens to his patients and takes what they say into consideration. He had been doing STEM and needling to help with my shoulder and lower back/hip pain. When I told him that I felt those two things weren't really helping anymore, he told me to consider a method call Gua Sha. He told me to look it up on YouTube and make sure I knew what it involved BEFORE he would try it on me. I did review it and I figured it would be a good thing to try. It is simply the scraping of the skin with a special tool to help with pain. Dr. Suleiman can definitely explain it better than I can. I won't lie and say it doesn't hurt while getting it done, but it really wasn't that bad. Once done, it looks like a dragon tried to give you a hickie and it is tender. But after the first session, I could move my neck with little to no pain. When I go back again, we are going to try it on my hip, as I have some pain there. I would recommend Gua Sha if other methods seem to have reached their plateau. Dr. Suleiman will listen and let you know if he thinks it could work for you. He has been a tremendous help in managing my neck, back and hip pains.
I walked in without an appointment expecting to get an appointment in a month or so. Well that was not the case, I was given a spot shortly after walking in. Talk about being so elated not having to wait a number of months for service with a specialist.
During my visit I started with e-stem which focuses on stimulation to your specific body part. Next I went to the roller bed for a complete massage of my back. Finally the visit with doc which was a home run. She focused on all issues that were exacerbated with unique precision.

An amazing experience. We used this vet to put our 15yr old lab mix to sleep. They were nearly half the price of every other vet we called, and the staff was absolutely fabulous. They provided him with a tray of snacks for his "last meal" and they were incredibly compassionate. If you need to give your pet a peaceful end, then I highly recommend EMMA Vet.
We moved to the area last year and we were excited to see a highly rated cat clinic a few minutes away. I prefer a cat clinic because they specialize in treating felines and I don’t have to worry about walking into a stressful environment with large dogs barking and echoing throughout the waiting area.
I take my kitty for monthly shots for his arthritis and the staff is always caring, friendly, and attentive. They’re also very reasonably priced and I don’t have anxiety that they’ll try to upsell me on unneeded services.
Sometimes, I have to search a bit for a parking spot —but that’s the trade off being located near so many other popular businesses. I wish that they had a few reserved spots, close to their door, but not every property manager will allow for that.
We love this clinic and its vets and staff. Have been bringing our pets here for 20 plus years. We have a new foster on this recent visit and the team took extra time and care to help him feel comfortable. We look forward to continue to bringing our pets here for years to come.

Elpaw has been my vet for years. They have been wonderful with my very nervous dog and do a lot to make her as comfortable as possible. Prices are reasonable, and they don't push for more than you need. My older dog has needed more care recently, and they've been able to accommodate her very quickly most of the time. After many failed attempts, I have finally found the grooming shop of my dreams! From minute one of entering the shop I could tell I had found a gem. It smelt good, all the dogs getting dropped off looked comfortable instead of scared, and most of all it was very clean! Located in the cutest community, the Pawsh Dog wash lived up to all the other phenomenal reviews. I have a 13 year old Lhasa apso and they made her look better then I ever imagined. It is a great set up, because when I dropped her off for grooming I brought my two other dogs to use their self serve baths. They provide great quality soap, conditioner, brushes and my helped get me set up right away. The staff was all so friendly, and the owner was so kind and hands on with everything. I’m a very happy dog mom with 3 very clean pups!

Tried out this studio as a part of class pass, and absolutely loved it! I feel like any level of yoga could be practiced at the class I went to (beginner, moderate, advanced) - because the instructor offered modifications to make the poses both easier and more challenging if needed. I also loved the warm, clean, inviting vibe of the studio. Will absolutely return to try out more classes!

I had previously tried out a lagree class in California after going to pilates for a while thinking it would be cake. It was not. After I moved to Alexandria, I decided I would try out solidcore and it did not disappoint. The workouts are absolute torture, but in a good way. I'm getting my butt kicked for 50 minutes and questioning my life decisions, but I leave feeling sore and amazing. I will definitely continue taking classes here. Fortunately, I have never had a hard time with booking classes and the instructors have all been awesome and good with making corrections to help me.

I’ve been going to DMV Sports Massage for a few years now and have genuinely loved this place. James is both professional and competent, and I appreciate that he adds cupping to his sessions. Tori, one of the newer therapists, quickly became one of my favorites to work with. She always listens when I communicate my problem areas and focuses directly where I need her to. Because I deal with chronic pain, I often struggle to find therapists who can really get in deep for the type of deep tissue work I need, but Tori does a great job of really getting in there and loosening up those knots.
That said, I do want to flag something for anyone who, like me, chose DMV partly because of their affordability. I originally switched back here because their 90-minute sessions were running at $179, which was more affordable than some other spots I’d been going to. At some point in the last several months, that price jumped significantly to $220 (a $41 increase) and as far as I’m aware, there was no notification or heads-up sent out. For context, another place I go to also lightly raised their rates, but they sent out advance notice to clients before doing so. That kind of transparency goes a long way, especially for people on a budget managing something like chronic pain.
The service here is still good, and I do mean that. But unfortunately, as someone already navigating affordability around managing pain, the increase has priced me out, which is a tough thing to say about a place I genuinely liked. A jump like that without any warning is worth knowing before you book.

I came in expecting a regular massage, but this was so much more—especially if you’re into stretching and holistic body care. The customer service was top tier from the moment we walked in. The staff were incredibly friendly, personable, and made us feel completely at ease.
One thing I absolutely loved: they wash your feet as soon as you enter your treatment room. That’s such a thoughtful touch (and honestly, hygienic!)—it shows the level of care and detail they put into the experience. Laura Owens is truly exceptional. If you’re looking for a massage therapist in Old Town Alexandria who actually listens, understands the body, and delivers real results, Laura is it. She always takes time at the start of each session to ask what areas need focus that day, which makes every massage feel completely personalized.
One time I came to her with intense sciatica pain, and she went out of her way to fit me into her schedule when I was really suffering. That session was exactly what I needed — it made a huge difference in my healing, and I genuinely believe it helped resolve the issue. Since then, I see her for maintenance and try to book once a month.
A big tip: book ahead of time. Laura fills up fast, so don’t wait until you’re desperate for a massage — go ahead and get on her calendar.

I just found this fantastic place for my physical therapy needs. The therapists at the Fusion Rehab and Wellness are very friendly, very knowledgeable and very dedicated. I felt that all of them wanted me to succeed, making sure that I exercised effectively, and encouraged me and praised me when I achieved the expected level of improvement.
It will be my place to go if I ever need help again. My friends and family will know about this place too.

I cannot recommend this office enough. I began seeing Vanessa Meyer for hand therapy 2x a week in April 2025, transitioned to 1x a week in May, and then every other week in September, before graduating in December. She was able to help me advance from barely being able to bend my fingers on my left hand to being able to do virtually anything with it. Working with her was an absolute joy, and I trusted her to only push me as far as I could safely go. The front desk staff were also so kind and excellent at their job, helping me schedule and transition to out-of-pocket payments once my coverage for the year ran out. I would often transition to doing exercises with the techs, and they were also kind, supportive, and attentive. I am so excited that I have reached a place in my recovery that I was able to graduate, but I sure do miss seeing these lovely people. This office has such a special place in my recovery journey story, and I am forever grateful for their care.

I have 2 excellent physical therapists. Both are knowledgeable, professional, personable and highly effective! Techs are also great. The only hesitation I have with leaving a good recommendation is knowing this may lead to increased competition for prime PT time slots. :-)
I can't begin to say enough wonderful things about this place! I came in for a specific reason, a blocked fallopian tube due to endometriosis, and I got so much more. I had such poor circulation in my hands and feet, constantly cold, and not sleeping through the night. With the combination of acupuncture, tea pills, and Dr. Uneo's knowledge literally everything improved.
I regularly feel my hands and feet at a normal temperature. I sleep soundly through the night again. Greatest of all my blocked fallopian tube is open! Everyone here is so kind, professional, and personally cares. This place and treatment was a God send for me. If I could rate it higher than 5 stars I would.

From the moment I walked in I was treated with so much respect and compassion, Dr. Cho and his staff are very friendly, kind and welcoming.
I was skeptical since I had tried so many ways to alleviate my pain and nothing really worked but after the first session with Dr. Cho I felt like I was reborn. I was moving around like I was 20 years younger!!!

My friend recommended Dr Chen and Dr Wei. I came in with tight shoulders, neck and back due to my frozen shoulder. The Alexandria office is located on the ground level of an apartment building. Dr Wei and Dr Chen used cupping, acupuncture and massage therapy. They are very skilled and experienced and I barely felt pain during the treatment. They made sure I was comfortable by asking how I was feeling... if I was hurting or uncomfortable. Dr Chen suggested arm exercises to help healing of the frozen shoulder. When I left the office, my tightness was mostly gone and I saw improvement in range of motion of my shoulder. I slept like a baby that night! I will continue with the treatment for my frozen shoulder which I know will take time. I highly recommend this practice.

Been going to Dr. Chang since the early 90's, he is the best, I have sent many of my friends there, and all have said nothing but how much better they felt after seeing him. I don't know what I am going to do once he is fully retired.
If you’re an inexperienced adult driver, I definitely recommend Titus’ driving school! I had always been really anxious about driving and had very little experience going in, but Titus made it feel much more comfortable and manageable. I passed the road test thanks to him, and I feel prepared to take on driving going forward with the skills he taught me. Scheduling was flexible too, so I was able to plan lessons when they worked for me. I’d definitely recommend him to anyone who wants to learn to drive!
I recently completed the Adult Waiver Program and successfully obtained my driver’s license, thanks to Gabriel’s excellent instruction. Before starting the lessons, I was very nervous—I worried I might end up with a teacher who wasn’t patient or clear. But after just the first class with Gabriel, I felt completely at ease.
