Had the best facial experience with Yamel Varela, aesthetician on B Street in downtown San Mateo. She gave me the Geneo ultrasound facial with exfoliation and oxygen-boosting technology using all-natural products, and my skin feels amazing.
What I appreciated most was that she didn’t try to push products. Instead, she shared thoughtful advice on routines and simple practices to take care of our skin as we age. Relaxing, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring. I think I officially found my face person.
The event center itself was very clean and perfect for the volleyball tournament we went too. Parking was expensive you couldn't leave or you'd have to pay again. That was the only thing I didn't like.
Victoria was an amazing masseuse and face expert and I loved talking to her :) this was my first time getting any spa treatment and its a 10/10 I'm totally coming back
I highly recommend this school if you need training for your puppy/ adult dog or have behavioral issues with your dog. After the foundational training, the school provides continual drop in classes to support the training. The instructors are very experienced. I have taken my last 3 dogs here.

Cathy is a gem! We used to go elsewhere for nail trims, but as my stubborn puppy gets older and more sensitive, he needs an even more gentle touch. Cathy is patient with his needs and she goes up and beyond any other groomer. Thank you Cathy for your gentle hands and big heart!!!

Kiddo Adventure is an absolute gem in San Mateo! The entire space is incredibly cute, thoughtfully designed, and perfect for kids to explore and play for all ages. As a parent, one of my favorite things was how safe it felt. There is only one entrance/exit gate, and they always have a staff member monitoring it, which gave me so much peace of mind.
The facility is exceptionally clean, and the staff couldn't be friendlier. Everyone was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely seemed to enjoy being there. There is also plenty of comfortable seating, making it easy to catch up on work, answer emails, or simply relax while the kids play.
The location is fantastic, and every detail has been well thought out. If you're looking for a fun, safe, and clean place to bring your children, this is a must-visit. We will definitely be back while visiting the area.

I got two new piercings (the healing process has been great unlike a lot of my other piercings) and she helped me redesign my stack- people have been complimenting me left and right ever since! Rachel is fantastic! I had three small tattoos done during my first visit, and the experience was seamless. She is incredibly gentle, and the process was virtually painless. Being without heat for over a month (me being lazy and in denial) Luis was great!!!! Gave me a time range when he could stop by and updated me when he could arrive earlier. He “allowed” me to watch him (over his shoulder) and wasn’t irritated with all my questions. He took the time to explain what he was doing. He was quick and cleaned up. This review is for Lyn. I had been going to salons recommended by friends in San Francisco, Santa Clara and some in between for the last couple years. Every time I showed the hair dresser how I wanted my hair style to look on my phone. They glanced at it and cut my hair the way they wanted/knew how. I could usually tell where things went wrong (when they started cutting my hair horizontally), but I was half way thru the cut already and had to console myself that I could look for a new salon next time. My search can stop now (sigh of relief). Yesterday Lyn gave me a cut I was finally happy with! She asked to see the look on my phone half way thru the hair cut, trying to ensure she gave me the result I wanted. And she succeeded. She seems very experienced with my straight coarse hair, saying she would trim it just so to give it movement. And she succeeded again! Thanks again, Lyn!

Jenny is an amazing hair stylist! The haircut prices are very reasonable, and she does an awesome job. I got a haircut, beard and moustache trim, and a shampoo and condition for my hair after my cut, and all that cost me far less than any other places I've been to for those services all together. Plus, parking is never an issue at this location, so getting in and out is super convenient!
Update: had yet another visit to Jenny today, and am excited for her to open up another location in San Mateo that I can go to! She also used an excellent leave-in conditioner (Pravana), a bottle of which I then purchased from her as well! Yet another great visit!

This was my second time getting a manicure and pedicure with Tina, and somehow she managed to exceed my already high expectations! After my first amazing experience, I knew I had to come back, and I'm so glad I did.
Tina remembered exactly what I liked from last time and made the whole experience feel so personal and special. Her technique is absolutely flawless - my nails look like they belong in a magazine! The attention to detail, the perfect polish application, and the overall care she puts into her work is just outstanding.
What I love most is how comfortable and relaxed she makes me feel. It's like catching up with a friend who just happens to be incredibly talented at making your nails look gorgeous!

I went with my mom to get a gel mani and gel pedi. Service was great and they were patient about our indecision on colors. They cut my nails a little shorter than I liked, but good service overall. I suggest being very specific about the length and shape you want.

They always do a great job. I get a pedicure with polish. There have been a few times I have had an ingrown toe nail and they have been able to remove the ingrown part.

Water Nails is my go to place for nails. Tony and his crew are absolutely amazing. They do such a fantastic job with nails, not only with the design.. but also with the quality. My nails grow out without being brittle or the polish chipping at all.
They humor me with my ideas and if I am even remotely unsatisfied, Tony will take his time to fix and make sure I leave with a smile on my face. Highly recommended!

I’ve been coming here for 2yrs now and Samira is amazing. I was getting my brows threaded for 7yrs from the same person and they just suddenly left the shop. I tried different waxers and threaders for a couple years and wasn’t satisfied and gave up.
I moved to foster city a couple years ago and found Baran Brows on Google and checked out the reviews first before trying. I’m so glad I did, I’m moving but I will be making the drive still nobody else can touch my brows now lol

I'm picky and have seen a lot of friends and family get very bad eyebrows. For a good job, I think you need great ink that doesn't fade into a strange red or blue color, and very importantly, a professional who has the artistic ability to make you look good. Every face is unique and mine is not symmetrical so finding someone who can make it look more symmetrical without being weird can be tough - takes me a while to do my own makeup! I finally settled with Anna and have come back to do a touch up a few years later. Even my facialist it's said it looks natural and is well done. It makes getting ready in the mornings so easy. I wholeheartedly recommend Anna.

When in for the first time on Saturday. Karen and the other ladies were so friendly and welcoming, which made me feel comfortable. Danielle, aka Danny, did my hair. She is a very excellent hairstylist. She will explain everything you need to know about hair care and maintenance. She is also very experienced in cutting your hair into a style of your choice. The shop is clean and they have a nail bar in the shop as well which is excellent! The salon is in an excellent location which makes it cool if you need to pick up a few things at the grocery store or you just want a . I definitely will be back.

I've been to Mayfair twice now. Super friendly service both times. I really appreciate that I got a pre-cut hair wash and a post-cut wash. I set up an appointment and was done in 25 min. The cost is also very reasonable if you're looking for a good haircut.
Ugh, after I lost contact with my eyebrow threader, I was in desperate need of another person and I was so lucky to find Sabi! I've been going to her for what a feels like a couple of years now and this review is way overdue. She is so gentle and listens to what you want/ need and when you go back for a second visit - she still remembers what you asked for (which we love) I'm not sure if I said this already but she's also quick and does a fantastic job! She has relocated and I actually like the spot she has now as well as before :) plenty of parking space and easy to find her shop. She is not only super accommodating with bookings and very fair with pricing, but she is just overall amazing as what she does and you can tell she loves doing it. When I first met her I has calcium deposits similar to "ball like white heads" under my eyes (VERY close to my eyeball) that a dermatologist would charge crazy amount to get rid of and she did it in only a session or two. After that I was so impressed I never saw anyone else. She always makes me feel so warm and welcome and I've been seeing her for YEARS. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my skin. Try her out, you 100% wont be disappointed.

I was overdue for a facial & decided to try Skin Utopia as I didn’t have the time/money for a day spa experience. Anna’s space is cozy and nicely decorated. She asked all the right questions about my skin care routine & desired outcome. She explained additional services but didn’t try to upsell me. Two small things: The music playing softly in the background had lyrics, which I found distracting. Also, I was charged the “new” unpublished price for my service. It was only $10, I just took it off the tip (it was my bad for not mentioning either to her as I’m sure she would have addressed it). Anna, my skin felt and looked great after I left. Thank you!

Renee is not only skilled and efficient, but she also made made me feel comfortable right away and took the time to understand the look I wanted. I liked that she didn't try to upsell me when I just wanted to go for the basic version and have a set of lashes that don't look too dramatic while accentuating my eyes. I think she delivered exactly what I wanted. The quality of the lashes is excellent, she spent extra time to make sure every single extension is glued properly but the entire process was quicker than I expected. In the end, she even shared a few tips on how to take care of my hair and lashes. I really appreciate her attention to detail and how natural yet full my lashes look. Great value for the price for sure!! Will definitely be back.

Allen T. was very professional and on time for Bob style hair cuts twice now. We were in total communications. The Semi-perm hair coloring I had in between the 2 hair cuts could be improved though. I thought Allen was suppose to ask me what color I wanted first. Instead, he chose a semi-perm hair color that was, as it turned out, right for me. The location was good for me and the place was clean & spacious. The hair cuts, especially the 2nd one, were the right length for me & the sideway bangs allowed me to dry without pins or hairspray to hold in place! Love that!

Glo is the best. I've been going to Glo ever since it opened. I tried other estheticians and waxing establishments, but none compare. The technicians are professional. They really know their stuff. All the people who work there are friendly and make you feel welcome. The place is beautiful. They accommodate schedules, keep up-to-date with the latest products and procedures, and suggest things that might work for you without being pushy. I always walk out feeling wonderful. And after so many years of waxing, I don't have any unsightly hair, which also means I don't see them as often as I used to. I love Glo, and you will too.
I like to get a massage every so often from a different place. I was hesitant to try her but gave it a shot. Started off rough as the lady charged me twice and had to wait a few minutes until another lady came to straighten it out. They did and I went to the room and got prepared for the massage. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The lady gave me a very thorough massage and I was happy. She worked my back well as I am very stiff from Parkinson’s. Was one of the best massages I have received in the last year. I recommend this place and will be back.
My monthly massages with Michelle are excellent! The masseuses here are trained in so many different techniques and pros at relieving my pressure points and tightness.
I'm so thankful that I found a place that is affordable ($70 for 60 minutes is *unbeatable* in the Bay Area), clean, and offers a high quality massage. They are super welcoming and special touches like fresh fruit after your treatment and their heated blankets make Belbien my new favorite spa!
New Ownership and Management
I have had the opportunity to visit Aroma Spa three times since the transition to new ownership last summer. Each visit has been a very pleasant occasion, and I will return as a regular customer. I have lower back issues that have been a problem for years, and my preference is for deep muscle work to relieve tightness. Remarkably, the massage therapist was able to trigger-point my tension areas and relieve pressure in my hips, mid-back and lower back. I also enjoy back walking to delve deeper and really target the problem spots. The session was blended with firm pressure as well as a very relaxing, Swedish-style stress relief finish. I enjoy the environment because it is quiet and has a pleasant and inviting scent. The new team is warm, friendly, and very customer-focused. I appreciate good craftsmanship and the hard work that is required to be a good masseuse. As such, my gratuities are generous, and there are never any issues. Aroma, under new management, is now a completely different experience, which I encourage you to visit soon.

I kind of want to gate keep but I won't. I've gotten extensions and lash lift and tint from Kiki. The extensions were gorgeous and looked natural. I really want to talk about her lift though. I've been getting lash lifts on and off for years and let me tell you, this was the best lash lift I've ever gotten. Almost 0 pain (Ive had some real burny ones in the past) and a super dramatic, gorgeous, noticable lift. And FAST! She is so fast! I won't go anywhere else ever again.

Got my first large tattoo of my baby Jackie from Jia, and the experience was amazing! Her website was very informative for prep and aftercare. She was also responsive to my emails. The studio itself was clean and organized, and has lots of street parking options. Jia was very intent on following what I wanted for the placement, size, and color/shading. The 2.5 hours we spent was fairly charged, and I was comfortable throughout the session. She’s definitely now my go-to for my next tatt, and I’ve been recommending her to all my friends. We recently had work done by Caccia Home Services for both plumbing and electrical issues. Kameron was our technician and handled a difficult electric water heater system that provides both radiant heating and hot water, which was damaged during a brownout. We had tried using other companies, but they had no experience with our type of system and had to research how to work on it. Caccia Home Services was extremely knowledgeable and helpful from the start. Kameron took the time to clearly explain the ongoing issues. There were no problems getting the needed parts overnighted, and even though it was a big job, everything was completed quickly and professionally within two days. Even after hours, when I had additional questions, Kameron was polite, responsive, and very helpful. I highly recommend this company for any plumbing or electrical issues you may be having.

When I was dealing with a botched construction job, Mark was a fantastic source of knowledge. When no one else could provide the information I needed, he freely shared his expertise and offered helpful tips from his professional experience. Mark was a bright light amid a sea of 'yes-men' and idiocy.
Elite Rooter sent their technician Oscar. Oscar worked like a well-oiled machine. He was a one-man team 90% of the time. He did almost all the hard work by himself, from inspecting and identifying the blockage, up to final clean up. He hardly rested – he had so much energy. When we had questions, he knew the answers (except for the pricing), and he always answered with a smile. He really knew his craft. Next time we have any plumbing issue (hopefully never), we will definitely ask for Oscar.
Dittman has helped us during several emergencies with our cursed bathrooms and our neighbors too. They have made a case for more serious fixes and thanks to them we most likely will have it done once things are coordinated with our HOA. We've dealt with different members of their team and this time Don and Junior came out. They were "locked in" and at the same time kept a pleasant customer focused attitude. They were mindful not to make a mess and made sure any pieces removed/replaced were cleanly reinstalled. As much as they were careful in how they did their work, what stands out to me with Dittman, is how their team have really good people-to-people skills. In a trades job it makes a surprising amount of difference and that's why I figured I'd drop a review because that really stood out to me. So if you want a team that will be fair in the process, respectful of your property, provides pleasant service, and is professional with the way they start and end a job -- Dittman is it. They came through for us and if I happen to ever move around town, I'd be happy to use them again.
I've used American Plumbing & Drain through AHS twice and have been very pleased both times. Mario was efficient and friendly. The first time was to replace the igniter in my hot water tank and the second was to diganose a stuck main water valve and leaking toilet. All issues were resolved and I even had him stay longer to replace some old supply lines for which I paid out of pocket.
When I needed to relocate some outlets and switches, the electrician did a remarkable job. The attention to detail was evident from start to finish. They carefully assessed my needs and offered insightful suggestions that I hadn’t considered. Not only was the work completed efficiently, but it was also done with utmost precision. I appreciated the clean and tidy work area left behind. The whole experience was seamless and left me very satisfied with the results.

I’ve been terrified of chiropractors most of my life, thanks to a healthy dose of skepticism instilled in me by my mother.
When I originally went to see Dr. Jordan for some knee pain while running, he took the time to listen and then through some magical chiropractor powers, adjusted things around to where I was able to run for longer with significant improvement afterwards. After a back injury, he also supported with weekly sessions that would leave me feeling more at ease and comfortable. But that’s not all - he has also helped me with some ankle support and now shoulder and neck help. I trust him completely with his work thanks to how I feel when I say goodbye. It also helps that I can now turn my head more with my neck to wave as I leave - woohoo!

My son was injured playing basket ball few months ago and ended up with ACL surgery. He is in a recovery mode with physical therapy. In the process he was facing hip alignment issue due to which he was not able to perform his physical therapy exercises. We visited Dr. Andrew for treating his hip alignment issue and to get a overall check with his leg issue. I must say Dr. Andrew has a deep knowledge with sports related injuries, he exactly knew what the issue was and performed the treatment to align the hip and worked on the overall muscles around the leg area to provide relief.

I first went to see Dan several years ago for a severe case of tennis elbow. Before being referred to Dan, I tried several other treatments (physical therapy, acupuncture, other chiropractoc services) and none worked. Dan and Active Release Technique did what the other treatments could not. He healed my tennis elbow and also addressed other concerns (neck, shoulder) that needed chiropractic attention. He does so in a very gentle manner and with a lot of guidance and tips for things to do in between visits. Fast forward to now when I have another case of tennis elbow. Dan was my first call. I was so pleased to find out that he still uses ART and has the same pleasant personality to make appointments such a pleasure. Highly highly recommended.

I recently started seeing Dr. Elise during my second trimester of pregnancy as I was having pelvic and lower back pain that affected my walking ability and being able to complete my everyday tasks. Dr. Elise came recommended to me due to her prenatal knowledge and I am so glad I decided to come and see her. After our first sessions my pain went away and I have felt so much better overall as not being able to walk comfortably was affecting much more than just my physical. I found relief in knowing she is a practitioner I can trust and wish I would have came to her sooner in my pregnancy!
Finally a chiropractor who doesn’t just crack you the same way every time. Dr. Donovan listens and adjusts his treatment to specifically address your condition. The active release technique prior to the adjustment has worked wonders on me since I am not easy to adjust. I strongly recommend checking him out.

Dr. Sutter & his staff are truly Godsent. Dr. Sutter is very kind, knowledgeable and thorough. He has been looking after our pets for quite some time now, and continues to amaze us with his skills. I have a pretty big pack at home, and they all are patients at this clinic. My kitten had a recent surgery with Dr. Sutter to have his injured eye removed. I felt very at ease knowing my little guy was in the best hands. I have another adult cat that has been Dr. Sutters patient for quite some time, and he always provides great care and recommendations during annual visits. Our two dogs also are quite nervous around people, but they absolutely love Dr. Sutter and his technicians. They are so loving and gentle to them, truly treating them as if they were their own pets. His staff is absolutely wonderful, and kind. All of my interactions with them have been positive, and supportive. I am so glad we found this clinic, and Dr. Sutter. I give them all my strongest recommendation, and appreciation for their wonderful work.
We have been seeing Dr. Magnar for acupuncture at the clinic and are very happy with the care our dog has been receiving. His is a complex case and there is no magic pill, but the fact that he is always eager to go to and resistant to leaving the clinic after each session says a lot about the way he is treated there :)

My dog and I moved to San Mateo in Feb and we were able to get set up as a new patient at Aragon pretty quick. Every visit we’ve had has been so easy and nice. Every one who works there is so sweet to my nervous lil dog. We are so lucky to have this place to take care of her!!
They're incredibly amazing. It's hard for me to express it in a review (I rarely ever write reviews), but I'll try my best.
1. They're incredibly knowledgeable and thorough. One very recent example was when they caught the early kidney disease in my cat! She didn't have any signs/symptoms, but her bloodwork showed otherwise. We (me and my cat) are so grateful to the doctor and the staff for all their help with her diagnosis.
2. The pricing is fair unlike other vets in the area. Before becoming a patient here, I took my cats to a different vet. There, the doctor made it pretty clear that he only cared about money. He would charge A LOT and also try to sell you on unnecessary procedures (e.g. use of anesthesia to just draw blood or get a urine sample). Here, they go over all treatment options and pricing with you and they don't recommend things unless they think it's necessary.
3. They actually care about the pets! Just seeing how they interact and handle all of the pets (either my own pets or the pets in the waiting room) makes it clear that everyone there loves working with them. I've been at a few vets where dr/staff interactions were just transactional and cold. Being warm and kind definitely brings a level of comfort to everyone (pets + pet parents) and helps to ease an already stressful situation (the vet visit).
Everyone here is always polite and helpful and very patient, answering as many questions as needed to ease your mind about your loved animals.

My little one is a coward. Linda was being so patient taken care of her and made her feel comfy. She did a good job for veve. I like it when Linda actually asked how I want veve to be trimmed. Usually other grooming place not bothering to ask how I want it. I love it and I think veve loves it. I am sure I will bring my other babies back next time
Cathy is a gem! We used to go elsewhere for nail trims, but as my stubborn puppy gets older and more sensitive, he needs an even more gentle touch. Cathy is patient with his needs and she goes up and beyond any other groomer. Thank you Cathy for your gentle hands and big heart!!!

Maren is amazing. Lymphatic drainage massage is what she does with so much knowledge. She is the very best in her field. The complications I have faced from breast and lymph cancer have been severe. She is the only person in 2 years of struggling and pain that has been able to relieve and control my issues. For the past year I had been struggling with a multitude of health issues including muscle pain. I finally was able to go for lymphatic massage and also worked with infrared pads. I can honestly say I didn't realize how pain had affected me until I find myself snoring on the table. The relief she provided through the treatment and relaxed environment greatly helped. My name is Linda and I've been coming to Anthony for years and every time I have a problem he fixes it I first started out with double tendinitis in both elbows and boy. Let me tell you he really knows how to fix that also went in there for other things for maintenance. And another thing I like is that he doesn't believe in the medicine or surgery which is wonderful and if he doesn't think he can help you he tells you he does not wanna waste your money. I’ve been seeing Shah for about seven years now, and he has been an incredible gift in my life. I have an S-curve scoliosis, with both curves measuring around 48 degrees, and Shah has been instrumental in my lifelong journey of pain management and preventing further progression. I truly don’t know what I would do without him. His knowledge and kindness are unmatched. I only wish I had found him in my teens—back when more progress might have been possible, instead of being steered toward surgery by orthopedic surgeons who rarely offered alternatives.
This is something that has helped me a lot the first time I arrived with an extreme pain in my leg it was the pain of sciatica then due to stress and now because of a pain in the waist and this is the only thing that has relieved me and has relaxed me it is an experience that I continue to have for several years I highly recommend it

This woman is the most talented and thorough practioner I have ever had. Trust me - I went to two years of Chinese medicine school myself - this woman has multiple degrees from China and the US and is using a myriad of techniques that the average licensed acupuncturist from the US wouldn’t even know. Her massage alone is reason to see her. She’s helped my digestion, my sleep, helped me get over pneumonia, helped me with anxiety and emotional upsets - being her patient has improved the quality of my life immensely.
