Had the best facial experience with Yamel Varela, aesthetician on B Street in downtown San Mateo. She gave me the Geneo ultrasound facial with exfoliation and oxygen-boosting technology using all-natural products, and my skin feels amazing.
What I appreciated most was that she didn’t try to push products. Instead, she shared thoughtful advice on routines and simple practices to take care of our skin as we age. Relaxing, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring. I think I officially found my face person.
The event center itself was very clean and perfect for the volleyball tournament we went too. Parking was expensive you couldn't leave or you'd have to pay again. That was the only thing I didn't like.
Victoria was an amazing masseuse and face expert and I loved talking to her :) this was my first time getting any spa treatment and its a 10/10 I'm totally coming back
I highly recommend this school if you need training for your puppy/ adult dog or have behavioral issues with your dog. After the foundational training, the school provides continual drop in classes to support the training. The instructors are very experienced. I have taken my last 3 dogs here.

Cathy is a gem! We used to go elsewhere for nail trims, but as my stubborn puppy gets older and more sensitive, he needs an even more gentle touch. Cathy is patient with his needs and she goes up and beyond any other groomer. Thank you Cathy for your gentle hands and big heart!!!

Kiddo Adventure is an absolute gem in San Mateo! The entire space is incredibly cute, thoughtfully designed, and perfect for kids to explore and play for all ages. As a parent, one of my favorite things was how safe it felt. There is only one entrance/exit gate, and they always have a staff member monitoring it, which gave me so much peace of mind.
The facility is exceptionally clean, and the staff couldn't be friendlier. Everyone was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely seemed to enjoy being there. There is also plenty of comfortable seating, making it easy to catch up on work, answer emails, or simply relax while the kids play.
The location is fantastic, and every detail has been well thought out. If you're looking for a fun, safe, and clean place to bring your children, this is a must-visit. We will definitely be back while visiting the area.

Rachel is fantastic! I had three small tattoos done during my first visit, and the experience was seamless. She is incredibly gentle, and the process was virtually painless. Being without heat for over a month (me being lazy and in denial) Luis was great!!!! Gave me a time range when he could stop by and updated me when he could arrive earlier. He “allowed” me to watch him (over his shoulder) and wasn’t irritated with all my questions. He took the time to explain what he was doing. He was quick and cleaned up. This review is for Lyn. I had been going to salons recommended by friends in San Francisco, Santa Clara and some in between for the last couple years. Every time I showed the hair dresser how I wanted my hair style to look on my phone. They glanced at it and cut my hair the way they wanted/knew how. I could usually tell where things went wrong (when they started cutting my hair horizontally), but I was half way thru the cut already and had to console myself that I could look for a new salon next time. My search can stop now (sigh of relief). Yesterday Lyn gave me a cut I was finally happy with! She asked to see the look on my phone half way thru the hair cut, trying to ensure she gave me the result I wanted. And she succeeded. She seems very experienced with my straight coarse hair, saying she would trim it just so to give it movement. And she succeeded again! Thanks again, Lyn!

This was my second time getting a manicure and pedicure with Tina, and somehow she managed to exceed my already high expectations! After my first amazing experience, I knew I had to come back, and I'm so glad I did.
Tina remembered exactly what I liked from last time and made the whole experience feel so personal and special. Her technique is absolutely flawless - my nails look like they belong in a magazine! The attention to detail, the perfect polish application, and the overall care she puts into her work is just outstanding.
What I love most is how comfortable and relaxed she makes me feel. It's like catching up with a friend who just happens to be incredibly talented at making your nails look gorgeous!

I went with my mom to get a gel mani and gel pedi. Service was great and they were patient about our indecision on colors. They cut my nails a little shorter than I liked, but good service overall. I suggest being very specific about the length and shape you want.

They always do a great job. I get a pedicure with polish. There have been a few times I have had an ingrown toe nail and they have been able to remove the ingrown part.

Water Nails is my go to place for nails. Tony and his crew are absolutely amazing. They do such a fantastic job with nails, not only with the design.. but also with the quality. My nails grow out without being brittle or the polish chipping at all.
They humor me with my ideas and if I am even remotely unsatisfied, Tony will take his time to fix and make sure I leave with a smile on my face. Highly recommended!

I'm picky and have seen a lot of friends and family get very bad eyebrows. For a good job, I think you need great ink that doesn't fade into a strange red or blue color, and very importantly, a professional who has the artistic ability to make you look good. Every face is unique and mine is not symmetrical so finding someone who can make it look more symmetrical without being weird can be tough - takes me a while to do my own makeup! I finally settled with Anna and have come back to do a touch up a few years later. Even my facialist it's said it looks natural and is well done. It makes getting ready in the mornings so easy. I wholeheartedly recommend Anna.

She is a very excellent hairstylist. She will explain everything you need to know about hair care and maintenance. She is also very experienced in cutting your hair into a style of your choice. The shop is clean and they have a nail bar in the shop as well which is excellent! The salon is in an excellent location which makes it cool if you need to pick up a few things at the grocery store or you just want a . I definitely will be back.

I've been going to her for what a feels like a couple of years now and this review is way overdue. She is so gentle and listens to what you want/ need and when you go back for a second visit - she still remembers what you asked for (which we love) I'm not sure if I said this already but she's also quick and does a fantastic job! She has relocated and I actually like the spot she has now as well as before :) plenty of parking space and easy to find her shop. She is not only super accommodating with bookings and very fair with pricing, but she is just overall amazing as what she does and you can tell she loves doing it. When I first met her I has calcium deposits similar to "ball like white heads" under my eyes (VERY close to my eyeball) that a dermatologist would charge crazy amount to get rid of and she did it in only a session or two. After that I was so impressed I never saw anyone else. She always makes me feel so warm and welcome and I've been seeing her for YEARS. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my skin. Try her out, you 100% wont be disappointed.

She asked all the right questions about my skin care routine & desired outcome. She explained additional services but didn’t try to upsell me. Two small things: The music playing softly in the background had lyrics, which I found distracting. Also, I was charged the “new” unpublished price for my service. It was only $10, I just took it off the tip (it was my bad for not mentioning either to her as I’m sure she would have addressed it). Anna, my skin felt and looked great after I left. Thank you!

Renee is not only skilled and efficient, but she also made made me feel comfortable right away and took the time to understand the look I wanted. I liked that she didn't try to upsell me when I just wanted to go for the basic version and have a set of lashes that don't look too dramatic while accentuating my eyes. I think she delivered exactly what I wanted. The quality of the lashes is excellent, she spent extra time to make sure every single extension is glued properly but the entire process was quicker than I expected. In the end, she even shared a few tips on how to take care of my hair and lashes. I really appreciate her attention to detail and how natural yet full my lashes look. Great value for the price for sure!! Will definitely be back.

Allen T. was very professional and on time for Bob style hair cuts twice now. We were in total communications. The Semi-perm hair coloring I had in between the 2 hair cuts could be improved though. I thought Allen was suppose to ask me what color I wanted first. Instead, he chose a semi-perm hair color that was, as it turned out, right for me. The location was good for me and the place was clean & spacious. The hair cuts, especially the 2nd one, were the right length for me & the sideway bangs allowed me to dry without pins or hairspray to hold in place! Love that!

I like to get a massage every so often from a different place. I was hesitant to try her but gave it a shot. Started off rough as the lady charged me twice and had to wait a few minutes until another lady came to straighten it out. They did and I went to the room and got prepared for the massage. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The lady gave me a very thorough massage and I was happy. She worked my back well as I am very stiff from Parkinson’s. Was one of the best massages I have received in the last year. I recommend this place and will be back.
My monthly massages with Michelle are excellent! The masseuses here are trained in so many different techniques and pros at relieving my pressure points and tightness.
I'm so thankful that I found a place that is affordable ($70 for 60 minutes is *unbeatable* in the Bay Area), clean, and offers a high quality massage. They are super welcoming and special touches like fresh fruit after your treatment and their heated blankets make Belbien my new favorite spa!
New Ownership and Management
I have had the opportunity to visit Aroma Spa three times since the transition to new ownership last summer. Each visit has been a very pleasant occasion, and I will return as a regular customer. I have lower back issues that have been a problem for years, and my preference is for deep muscle work to relieve tightness. Remarkably, the massage therapist was able to trigger-point my tension areas and relieve pressure in my hips, mid-back and lower back. I also enjoy back walking to delve deeper and really target the problem spots. The session was blended with firm pressure as well as a very relaxing, Swedish-style stress relief finish. I enjoy the environment because it is quiet and has a pleasant and inviting scent. The new team is warm, friendly, and very customer-focused. I appreciate good craftsmanship and the hard work that is required to be a good masseuse. As such, my gratuities are generous, and there are never any issues. Aroma, under new management, is now a completely different experience, which I encourage you to visit soon.

I kind of want to gate keep but I won't. I've gotten extensions and lash lift and tint from Kiki. The extensions were gorgeous and looked natural. I really want to talk about her lift though. I've been getting lash lifts on and off for years and let me tell you, this was the best lash lift I've ever gotten. Almost 0 pain (Ive had some real burny ones in the past) and a super dramatic, gorgeous, noticable lift. And FAST! She is so fast! I won't go anywhere else ever again.

Got my first large tattoo of my baby Jackie from Jia, and the experience was amazing! Her website was very informative for prep and aftercare. She was also responsive to my emails. The studio itself was clean and organized, and has lots of street parking options. Jia was very intent on following what I wanted for the placement, size, and color/shading. The 2.5 hours we spent was fairly charged, and I was comfortable throughout the session. She’s definitely now my go-to for my next tatt, and I’ve been recommending her to all my friends. When I was dealing with a botched construction job, Mark was a fantastic source of knowledge. When no one else could provide the information I needed, he freely shared his expertise and offered helpful tips from his professional experience. Mark was a bright light amid a sea of 'yes-men' and idiocy.
My water bill was extremely high this month and I had no idea why. I called pg&e and they said I had a water leak somewhere in my house. After calling around I decided on USA leak detector because they were able to get me an appointment the same day. They were able to pin point exactly where I had a leak. Steve was able to come out and fix my problem in 20 minutes which end up saving me a lot of money. He was extremely knowledgeable and didnt mind providing insight. I highly suggest them for fast and efficient work I’ll be calling USA leak detector for all my plumbing needs!

I've used American Plumbing & Drain through AHS twice and have been very pleased both times. Mario was efficient and friendly. The first time was to replace the igniter in my hot water tank and the second was to diganose a stuck main water valve and leaking toilet. All issues were resolved and I even had him stay longer to replace some old supply lines for which I paid out of pocket.

We have used Peter at both of our homes - one in San Mateo where he installed all the electrical work for a hot tub and now in our Belmont home for our various wall outlets. I had an outstanding experience with John Baumann at All-American Appliance Repair.
We had been dealing with a persistent ignition/clicking issue on our 2007 Viking range for over a year and a half. Three different service companies either couldn’t diagnose the problem or proposed solutions that didn’t address the root cause. One company did identify it correctly, but the estimate was exorbitantly high.
John came in, immediately understood the issue, and executed a precise, targeted repair. He installed two venturi burner base modules (parts I had already sourced) and replaced the spark module — all at a fair, transparent price that aligned with current market costs.
Most importantly, he fixed the problem completely. The annoying clicking is gone, and the range now performs exactly as it should.
As a bonus, he also corrected a subtle leveling issue with the range while it was pulled out — something that had been bothering us but wasn’t even part of the original scope.
The work was efficient, professional, and came in exactly at the quoted price.

I went in barely able to move, honestly ibuprofen was my only saving grace... and even saying that is generous. After one session I could actually stand up with less pain and was able to sleep through the night. After 3 sessions I could take my dogs on a long walk and even, might sound ridiculous, fully make the bed. I made sure to follow all of Dr. Kyle's instructions and it's made a huge difference. Dr. Fung is gentle yet effective in his approach and he listens well to everything I say. He is doing Active release therapy for my Chronic plantar fasciitis and has further helped relieve my pain issues. He explains everything as he is doing treatment. He is on time, is easy to book appointments with through his booking app and his office is clean and comfortable. He even checked my spinal alignment and neck pain as I needed it and treated that also. I would recommend him and his practice to anyone seeking active release therapy or Chiropractic care.

I have 40 years of experience with chiropractors that gave a few good sessions but then quickly devolving into a drive-through service, charging 100 bucks for 5 minutes for the same 10 adjustments. but Dr. Tannous treats my body like a dynamic and fluid system, provides new assessments every treatment and tailors the adjustment to my ongoing needs! I will NEVER need a new chiropractor.

I fully endorse Dr Hamed Alereza’s adjustment skills. After 4 days of severe acute sciatica pain, I walked in with crutches, Dr Hamed Alereza was able to fix me in under 1 hour. It was magical. I was able to walk out of the clinic without the crutches.This is after 2 visits to an acupuncturist, 2 visitor to another chiropractor (which cost $200 per visit), 1 visit to urgent care. Only Dr. Alereza was able to relieve me of the excruciating pain.Some other reviewer mentioned that Dr Alereza fixed something that other chiropractors was not able to. I now believe it. I feel really grateful that I was able to find Dr Alereza to treat my sciatica.

I was referred to Dr.Cari Chui for Moh’s procedure on my nose. Denise got me in right away and the process checking in , explanation of the procedure and staff were all amazing. Dr.Chui is very comforting and clear in her communication before, during and after the procedure. I highly recommend them for any derm concerns and would prioritize them especially for Moh’s procedure.

Dr. Sutter & his staff are truly Godsent. Dr. Sutter is very kind, knowledgeable and thorough. He has been looking after our pets for quite some time now, and continues to amaze us with his skills. I have a pretty big pack at home, and they all are patients at this clinic. My kitten had a recent surgery with Dr. Sutter to have his injured eye removed. I felt very at ease knowing my little guy was in the best hands. I have another adult cat that has been Dr. Sutters patient for quite some time, and he always provides great care and recommendations during annual visits. Our two dogs also are quite nervous around people, but they absolutely love Dr. Sutter and his technicians. They are so loving and gentle to them, truly treating them as if they were their own pets. His staff is absolutely wonderful, and kind. All of my interactions with them have been positive, and supportive. I am so glad we found this clinic, and Dr. Sutter. I give them all my strongest recommendation, and appreciation for their wonderful work.
We have been seeing Dr. Magnar for acupuncture at the clinic and are very happy with the care our dog has been receiving. His is a complex case and there is no magic pill, but the fact that he is always eager to go to and resistant to leaving the clinic after each session says a lot about the way he is treated there :)

My dog and I moved to San Mateo in Feb and we were able to get set up as a new patient at Aragon pretty quick. Every visit we’ve had has been so easy and nice. Every one who works there is so sweet to my nervous lil dog. We are so lucky to have this place to take care of her!!
They're incredibly amazing. It's hard for me to express it in a review (I rarely ever write reviews), but I'll try my best.
1. They're incredibly knowledgeable and thorough. One very recent example was when they caught the early kidney disease in my cat! She didn't have any signs/symptoms, but her bloodwork showed otherwise. We (me and my cat) are so grateful to the doctor and the staff for all their help with her diagnosis.
2. The pricing is fair unlike other vets in the area. Before becoming a patient here, I took my cats to a different vet. There, the doctor made it pretty clear that he only cared about money. He would charge A LOT and also try to sell you on unnecessary procedures (e.g. use of anesthesia to just draw blood or get a urine sample). Here, they go over all treatment options and pricing with you and they don't recommend things unless they think it's necessary.
3. They actually care about the pets! Just seeing how they interact and handle all of the pets (either my own pets or the pets in the waiting room) makes it clear that everyone there loves working with them. I've been at a few vets where dr/staff interactions were just transactional and cold. Being warm and kind definitely brings a level of comfort to everyone (pets + pet parents) and helps to ease an already stressful situation (the vet visit).
Everyone here is always polite and helpful and very patient, answering as many questions as needed to ease your mind about your loved animals.

Jakob Zucker is one of those Barry’s instructors who really stands out for his balance of calm, intentional programming and strong, effective motivation. His classes are thoughtfully structured—you can tell there’s a clear plan behind every block, and the progressions feel purposeful rather than chaotic.
What I appreciate most is his coaching style. He doesn’t rely on over-the-top hype, but instead brings a grounded, steady energy that actually helps you stay focused and push harder. When he does turn up the motivation, it feels genuine and well-timed, which makes it land even more.
His cues are clear, his pacing is smart, and the overall flow of the class just works. Whether you’re newer to Barry’s or a regular, Jakob creates an environment where you feel challenged but also in control.
Also worth noting—the studio itself was super clean and the AC was actually working (which makes a huge difference during those intense workouts).
Overall, if you’re looking for a class that’s both well-programmed and quietly motivating, Jakob is definitely someone to book with.

Jasmine is 10/10, hands down the best massage therapist I've ever seen. She gets to work and doesn't stop until whatever pain or alignment issues you have been completely addressed. I gave her very little direction and she found the frequent trouble spots in my neck, right shoulder and even picked up on a low-back injury from 4-weeks ago that I had forgotten about but she said she noticed there was still a lingering issue. She uses massage, pressure points and stretching to elevate the massage experience massively.
Her space is gorgeous and ultra clean and she's amazing to work with. Grateful to have found her!

Maren is amazing. Lymphatic drainage massage is what she does with so much knowledge. She is the very best in her field. The complications I have faced from breast and lymph cancer have been severe. She is the only person in 2 years of struggling and pain that has been able to relieve and control my issues. Dr. Na is fabulous. He knows exactly what to do and adjusts his care based on progress. I went for a frozen shoulder and after a few sessions, it uncovered imbalance in my hip. Each session was different and customized to current conditions. He uses a combination of acupuncture, tens, and cupping. I highly recommend!! This is a truly remarkable practice.

My name is Linda and I've been coming to Anthony for years and every time I have a problem he fixes it I first started out with double tendinitis in both elbows and boy. Let me tell you he really knows how to fix that also went in there for other things for maintenance. And another thing I like is that he doesn't believe in the medicine or surgery which is wonderful and if he doesn't think he can help you he tells you he does not wanna waste your money. He is wonderful. I call him the man with the magic hands I would highly recommend Anthony.

For the past year I had been struggling with a multitude of health issues including muscle pain. I finally was able to go for lymphatic massage and also worked with infrared pads. I can honestly say I didn't realize how pain had affected me until I find myself snoring on the table. The relief she provided through the treatment and relaxed environment greatly helped. I can also say that the pain in my hands is gone as well. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for help, relief, and great customer service. I would give ut ten stars if I could.
Therapist very professional and helpful on what his goals for me on my arthritis for my knees. He explained why I was doing exercises to help me overcome the pain in my knees. He took the time to make sure I was doing exercises correctly which I really appreciated. I definitely have felt improvements after 2 visits,
I’ve been seeing Shah for about seven years now, and he has been an incredible gift in my life. I have an S-curve scoliosis, with both curves measuring around 48 degrees, and Shah has been instrumental in my lifelong journey of pain management and preventing further progression. I truly don’t know what I would do without him. His knowledge and kindness are unmatched. I only wish I had found him in my teens—back when more progress might have been possible, instead of being steered toward surgery by orthopedic surgeons who rarely offered alternatives.
This is something that has helped me a lot the first time I arrived with an extreme pain in my leg it was the pain of sciatica then due to stress and now because of a pain in the waist and this is the only thing that has relieved me and has relaxed me it is an experience that I continue to have for several years I highly recommend it
I have been going to Dr Brazie’r for the last six months for my lower back pain and enlarged prostate BPH. My back pain was reduced after a couple of visits. I started to see my urination improve after 3 months. Now I can say my flow is much better and I have started to reduce my medicine for my enlarged prostate. He is an excellent acupuncturist and can diagnose very accurately. He is very kind and takes time to understand and find the solution to my health concerns.
This woman is the most talented and thorough practioner I have ever had. Trust me - I went to two years of Chinese medicine school myself - this woman has multiple degrees from China and the US and is using a myriad of techniques that the average licensed acupuncturist from the US wouldn’t even know. Her massage alone is reason to see her. She’s helped my digestion, my sleep, helped me get over pneumonia, helped me with anxiety and emotional upsets - being her patient has improved the quality of my life immensely.

Wow what a fabulous place for acupuncture! This was my first visit. Doctor Anita is so kind and warm, yet super professional. I was nervous in the beginning, but she calmed me down immediately and kept talking to me to get distracted from the needles. She also did the ear pressure and prescribed me some Chinese medicine in pill form. When I finished the treatment, I feel so relieved from the arthritis pain. I highly recommend this place :-)
