I feel like any level of yoga could be practiced at the class I went to (beginner, moderate, advanced) - because the instructor offered modifications to make the poses both easier and more challenging if needed. I also loved the warm, clean, inviting vibe of the studio. Will absolutely return to try out more classes!“

2201 Mt Vernon Ave, Alexandria“I would be amiss if I didn't include a review after the hydrocolonic therapy service provided by Melissa. After battling severe abdominal pain for years now, it was a miracle to find Melissa and engage in such powerful dialogue surrounding gut health and natural remedies. She was extremely respectful and considerate, frequently checking in and sharing experiences in her personal life. I feel empowered now knowing that we have a plan of attack towards a life of relief!
I will definitely continue to utilize the services provided here while following the thoughtful referrals and recommendations by Melissa.“
6AM - 10PM
1510 Okie St NE, Washington“I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to keep up, and being new to the studio, I wasn't too sure of what was needed coming in. Kendra was at the front desk and accessible to instruct me on what to bring into the space. Her instruction during the class was great. There were options for modification, but her energy in the room made me want to push through when it became challenging. The room was filled with what seemed like regulars (of all shapes and sizes) who were committed and ready, and that added to the experience.
The studio was equipped and clean. I was able to shower after my second class and felt comfortable doing so. I highly recommend Kendra, her class, and studio.“
6AM - 8PM
1910 14th St NW, Washington“Great relaxing yoga session. Location is a bit small and dated with creaky floors. And price is a bit high for the quality at $14 / session + $2 for a mat. Should include mat in price and lower to $10 max. Other than this, it was great.“
10AM - 4PM
1207 K St NW, Washington“Shout out to Ms. Simone! She’s a jewel and was super sweet and kind to me! Give her a RAISE! She treated my Sorors and me with so much respect and extra kindness. I was there July 9-13, 2025 for our National Convention!“

Garage Access, 3221 Mt Pleasant St NW Rear, Washington“I have been practicing yoga for over 30 years at many different studios. Past Tense is as good as they get. Excellent teachers, strong sense of community, and two really nice studio spaces in Mt Pleasant. Very grateful to have in our neighborhood.“
“The yoga here is top notch. Excellent instructors and the space is spacious and clean and bright. I do yoga in SF but whenever I’m in DC this is the only place I would consider doing yoga. Also nice that they donate funds to good causes, they have donation events celebrating Black History Month, AANHPI Month and things like that.“
5:30AM - 7:30PM
1101 S Joyce St Ste. B14, Arlington“Janeen is the best instructor at this studio. I've continued my practice at this location because of Janeen. She is patient, doesn't have you switching between lots of pieces of equipment at lightning speed. She tells you before class begins what pieces of equipment you're using. That mentally and physiologically prepares a student to get the equipment easier and be able to keep up with the pace of the class. I wish more of the instructions were this way when they implement equipment changes. Janeen gives encouragement throughout the class and you can understand every word she says. She acknowledges the progress of the regulars and assists new students.“
12 - 8PM
2319 Wisconsin Ave NW, Washington“I love this little corner of self care. It is truly a huge component in my effort to maintain good mental health in a otherwise quite demanding life! The diversity of classes, affordability, ethical business model, social justice engagement are huge plus for me, but the variety of teachers is what really helped me make this place mine, finding my right class (depending on the week and how I feel). I am beyond grateful that this place exists in my neighborhood.“
8:30AM - 6PM
502 Kennedy St NW, Washington““Yoga for new movers” is the cutest class! The teacher is very thoughtful and uses the class to create a nice space for babies to practice crawling and walking. The parents that attended were all very kind. The studio is beautiful and provided mats at no cost, which was a nice touch.“

“Toured the facility. Looks like a lot of fun. It is a hub of activity and really seems to support the community. We were fortunate to get to see two groups who use the facility give a taste of their performances.“
