I remember how many years ago this was a place for poor people to come in and they would charge them. Well I've had stuff done to me there and it's one of the superior places in Des Moines to get things done medically.

Want to check in with an A++ review for Lauren A. New to DSM and I travel for work so have to find new stylists wherever I go. I called the salon and left a message I needed a short haircut and had read some great reviews. They called me back so quickly and were able to book me in with Lauren- she is someone who listens, asks questions, pulls up pictures and looks at your pics all to get the idea of what you want and what will look good. I can never say what I want but somehow she figured out what was and wasn't working. Lauren worked with my crazy cowlicks to give me a great cut/style with a plan for how to keep it getting better and better. Everyone at the salon is so nice, its a great vibe. I would recommend Trixie's and Lauren A to anyone in the area looking for a great short cut for women.

This place was the best find on our trip to Iowa! One of the best pedicures and gel dip manicures I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a lot! The ladies were so sweet with my daughters, too, during their pedicure too.
I was Leary about taking my 20mo old daughter with me to get my pedicure done but the staff was so friendly and patient with us and I really appreciated that. I just did a regular pedi and regular polish and it came out great. It only took an hour and that’s including time to try to settle my daughter periodically. They let her walk in the water and even pretended to do her toes. They even gave her a lollipop and that actually got her to calm down some. Really friendly people and I would go here again, maybe next time without my daughter so I can get more relaxed lol
I’m not from here so I was nervous trying a new place but they were super welcoming and offered me something to drink. I felt bad I didn’t have an appointment but they found time for me. My nails turned out perfect and the pedicure was amazing. I think Jackie was the woman who did my pedicure. She recommended some places for me to visit and it was honestly so nice talking to her. I have been a customer of Rachel's for over a year. I continue to go back because she has the best prices, fast and efficient. Also I don't have to worry about being gossiped in a different language like other nail salons because she works alone. Rachel has always been kind. I can't see her yelling at anybody, like some of these other reviews say. However, If I ran a business and a customer was late I would be upset. If you're late then you are being disrespectful and do not deserve her time. She has the best prices in town so least you can do is be respectful of her time.

I had a full set done with Rachel and I am OBSESSED ? they turned out so good. I did have a little sensitivity at first, but it went away after a few days. I called and left a message and they were super helpful with giving me tips to help with it.
I ended up rubbing a few lashes out (definitely me being me lol), but I got back in with Emma for a fill and baby… I love them all over again. She walked me through how to properly clean them and even used a different glue for sensitive clients, which I really appreciated.

This place is a hidden gem, like 30$ for a cut and I knew some places charge you like 80$ for eh same thing this store gives, the workers nice and respectful and funny, plus for the at 30+$ you spend you get a hair wash and cut plus they also style your hair the way you want it’s a steal

I grew my hair out for 4 years hoping to get a medium length Bob. My hair is not thick and I don't like razor cuts that leave my hair split and in the long run damages my hair. T used a razor, thining shears and a electric Razor and cut my hair short with one side jagged and thin. She never listened to how I wanted my hair she said I'd have to curle my hair with a iron if I wanted a Bob. I've had my hair Cut in a Bob by studio 10 in Adel iowa that was perfect and professional!! Oh how I wish I would have gone there!! Thanks T but us older women like to look good too and my hair now will look like this until I can grow it long enoughto get the cut I asked for!!

Kelly did my makeup for my wedding and I could not recommend her enough. She was honestly one of my favorite vendors we worked with. She was always on time and professional and not only did she make me feel so beautiful the day of, but my mom's makeup was stunning as well as my bridesmaids. Both my mom and I are not huge fans of getting our make up done and with Kelly we seriously had no notes on the day of makeup, it was that good!!! I felt so comfortable in my makeup trial and day of giving feedback on any changes I wanted and Kelly was so good at asking clarifying questions to make sure we were on the same page. The morning of the wedding she had such a bright and positive personality that it made getting ready even more fun. It was such a great experience on the day of the wedding to have complete trust in Kelly to make me feel amazing!!

I walked in on a Saturday to get my second holes on my lobes repierced after probably 15 years of not wearing earrings. Berkley was able to get earrings in without repiercing them and was able to do the same with my third hole. It was such a fun, comfortable, quick, and affordable experience. I got my first holes redone at a chain piercing place last month and not only did it hurt more but it was more expensive too. Thank you so much Berkley!!!

Came here bout 8 weeks ago for two ear lobe piercings and two helix pierced. They healed fantastic, the piercer he was very professional, kept everything sterile and did amazing! Just came back today and got the girls pierced and another earlobe. He was very professional, asked if i felt safe there or if wanted someone here in room, the girls when he pierced was very painless. No where near the amount of pain i thought would be. He provided detail instructions on care. Checked my other helixs to make sure they healing proper and said if have any questions to please stop in! When i mention i was thirsty when he asked how was feeling, he provided a soda and explained why that sometimes happens. I cant wait for these to heal cause i will only come to him for now on for my future piercings i want ! 1000000/10 recommend coming here!
Steve and Austin were there within two hours of my call. They fixed our problem quickly and were very professional. Super reasonable price prices he fixed our drain issue for $180 and came out same day!!. I would highly recommend!!
I contracted AIM to install LVP in the main bedroom, bath, walk in closet and laundry room. They also did a partial bathroom remodel which included removing lots of tile. An Onyx shower was installed. A jetted tub was replaced with a custom vanity. Wallpaper, light fixtures, towel bars, mirrors etc. Melissa was my designer and she was so very helpful and patient. Jason was in charge of the crew and spent the most time working in the house. I don't know what he gets paid but he's awesome and deserves a raise. The project started on time and was finished on budget. They cleaned up any mess every day before they left. They did not disappear for days at a time like other contractors have. Minor changes were accommodated. Minor problems were corrected. Melissa, Jason and the rest of the crew were professional and trustworthy. Everything looks great and the bathroom is much more functional than it was. Thanks to everyone who helped with this project. I would recommend AIM without hesitation.

Our original plumber said he couldn't put our toilet and sink back (after new floors put in) the same day because it required 2 people and would take an hour.I called Gallon Plumbing and Lori was super helpful in getting us in the same day and kept me informed throughout until Maddie arrived.Maddie did the job by herself (lifting a big toilet placed in the tub) in just 30 minutes. She was super friendly and was wonderful to my dogs and cats.Great experience!

I have 220 service to a heating appliance in my garage and my 40 amp breaker tripped for the first time since the garage was built 3 years ago. I could see some melting had occurred inside the subpanel. I called Mickle on Tuesday and 2 techs arrived at my home the following day 10 minutes before the stated time. Shortly afterwards Shane called me at work to review the issues and what they would need to do to get it fixed including replacing the subpanel and running heavier gauge wire to the heating unit. They were extremely professional and made the necessary repairs within a few hours. I take a lot of pride in my garage as we use it for recreational space among other things. Their work was outstanding and I'm now getting the highest efficiency out of the appliance. Furthermore Shane called the following day to make sure the work was to our satisfaction which was a nice added touch. I would recommend Mickle Electric to anyone in need of a quality electrician and I assume their HVAC work is equally good. This was a refreshing change from the experience I had with the original electrician. I'll be calling Mickle for all of my electric and HVAC needs.Service: Panel replacement or upgrade

Between Matt and Chris, we came up with some options that turned out better than my original plans.
My husband and I hired Marcia to help us redesign our kitchen and laundry room in the fall of 2021. She was professional and courteous from the first minute we met her. She walked through our entire house with us to get a feel for who we are and our style, listened closely to learn about what we wanted, and was open to our ideas and suggestions. Marcia sat down on the spot and sketched out some ideas with us present, shared her vision with us, and listened to our feedback. Her plans reflected a balance of beauty, style, and practicality that fit us to a T. We rolled with the plans, and a year later, are finally finished with the remodel. We couldn't be more pleased with how our home looks and feels now! It is open, yet the spaces are clearly defined. We have PLENTY of storage. The pantry is spacious enough that I could move all the items we previously stored in the hall closet to the kitchen. We had shelves custom built for the pantry and it's perfect. We hosted Thanksgiving for 10 people and at least at one point had 5-6 people in the kitchen. It never felt crowded. It's easy to have multiple people in the space working together without being in each other's way! I can also open and unload the dishwasher easily, putting dishes away with just a few steps. I can bring in groceries and put them away efficiently. We can find what we need without searching or having to rearrange things or get down on the floor. I can see what we have easily and don't have stale food forgotten in the back of the pantry. Our laundry room is also incredibly functional. Marcia's plan for integrating an unnecessary hallway into the space worked out beautifully. We highly recommend Marcia for your project. One of her strengths not yet mentioned is that she keeps a realistic budget in mind. What we saved in unnecessary expenses made the already modest cost of her services well worth the investment.

They were amazing! When someone comes in to your home, it can give you anxiety. Especially with 2 kids under 2 years old and all that goes with it. But they were attentive to every little thing. Asking if anyone was napping, if the noise would bother the 3 month old, etc. He was great to speak with. Very personable as well as knowledgeable about the job and other construction projects. By the time he was done (which was very quick for how amazing it looked), he was almost part of the family! We will definitely use him again and will be recommending him to everyone we know!

I called these guys when I had concerns about a neighbor's tree overhanging my property. They were at my house the next day to assess the tree and provide recommendations. When they came to do the work they were prompt, efficient and professional. They were very fast seeing my mother after she broke a tooth. Within 9 days she had the tooth removed and her partial installed. They truly care for their patients and take great care of them.
I love this place. The staff, Dr Cleaver and Dr Main are always friendly and so easy to talk to whether it's about services or even my family. I've been going here for a very long time, like 30 years, with my kids and now my grandkids. My only complaint is that when I retired they didn't take my Medicare advantage insurance. Unfortunately I had to look for a new dentist and I just can't find one that measures up to Fleur Dentistry!

With a compression fracture at L5 at 14yo and another at L1 at 21yo, I have seen A LOT of chiropractors in my 30ish years on this planet, and very few have been bad, but only a couple have been phenomenal. Not only did I get my fist appointment same-day, Blake also took the time to go over my (extensive and tbh complex) health history. I’ve had a lot of diagnostics and imaging in the least year, and been in lot of Google rabbit holes attempting to make sense of what most of it meant. He was able not only to explain some findings in layman’s terms like no one else had before, but he was able to relate that to me, and my health specifically - and what that meant in relation to how our sessions would go, how I could utilize his services + already established OT sessions to compliment each other & our end goals. I’ve only done about 5 sessions so far, but I’m confident this is an upward trend!
I woke up one morning & couldn't move my neck without excruciating pain. After trying the usual route of going to my Dr & getting xrays & being sent to a nuerosurgeon with a slipped disk & several bulging disks where I was told nothing could be done as I was not a surgical candidate, yet. Ok, I'm not ready for surgery on my neck anyway. They suggested physical therapy. So in talking with my nurse daughter, she recommended I try Dr Stickel at Adio Chiropractic. I wish I had done that FIRST!!! After the first week of treatment, my pain level had dropped almost 25%. I could actually hold my head up instead of resting my head on something all the time. Now after several weeks of treatments, I can honestly say my pain is almost GONE!!! I still have days I wake up with a stiff neck, but a treatment with Dr Stickel & I'm back in the game again. Thank you Dr Stickel for giving me back my freedom of movement!!! Next time, you will be my 1st stop!!!
Went here for my first time at a chiropractor. I was helped by Bruce, he made sure I was heard about my past, what I did, what hurt. He went through a thorough investigation and made sure I was comfortable. 10/10 would recommend to anyone nervous about going to chiropractors.

I have been going to Dr Susan for many years. She has helped me with sinus problems, back problems, and aches and pains. Last January 2019 I fell on the ice and bruised my tailbone. That was very painful, however Dr Susan really helped me recover from that. There have also been times when I've injured my back due to falling off a horse, and injuring it at work, but after just one visit (no joke) I felt much better. She does take insurance or self-pay. She's a great chiropractor and I recommend her on a semi-regular basis to all of my friends on Facebook.

I recently had a massage at Divine Direction with Mia to help manage my sciatica pain, and the experience exceeded my expectations. From the beginning, took the time to understand my specific issues and areas of discomfort, which made me feel confident I was in the right hands.

Highly recommend! I suffer from tightness in my hips and back after traveling and wanted a massage to just loosen up. It was so much more than I anticipated! Jaline was so nice, asked questions and really worked on alignment and fixing issues rather than just temporarily feeling better. She also gave me some tips for stretches to do daily and product recommendation for sleep. If I find myself back in the area, I know where I’ll be going for a massage!

Melissa at Soulshine is the best massage therapist ever! I live in Virginia and discovered Soulshine a year ago just kind of randomly when I was in town working a convention. After a weekend of back breaking work I decided to treat myself to a massage and just randomly picked Soulshine. Well thank goodness I did because that’s how I discovered Melissa. She uses some sort of technique that got out all of the knots I didn’t even know I had and as it turns out were the cause of my headaches. She even massaged my jaw which helped tremendously with my TMJ. The massage was so incredible that I decided to come back this year when I was back in town working that same convention. So thank you to Melissa for working your magic on my back, jaw, neck and shoulders. Once again, I've gotten a great massage. The staff is always friendly and interested in what discomfort brings me into their place. They never fail to give me some relief from my arthritic pain. A little bit of a language barrier, but I find that to be only a minor issue. They are true professionals, and I highly recommend them.
