Highly recommend especially if you have an older key that you need replaced go here first! I had a run around with other key shops telling me they could duplicate my key come to find out they couldn't. Anyways go here first for your key needs!

Super nice guy, came out to switch our locks on our new home. Fixed our garage door alignment so it would lock properly. Very fast! He was extremely knowledgeable about the mortise lock on our 102yr old door, even took the time to teach me how to make any repairs and which screws to get. Swapped the cylinder out with one in better condition that was still old to match the door, even gave me a cool key for it. Quick, professional, skilled and knowledgeable. Cannot recommend him enough.

I highly recommend Des Moines Lock Service. They’re one of the last shops if not the last shop in town that works on old mortise locks. We had an issue with our old lock, brought it in and within a few minutes they had the part fixed and cleaned and buffed up the internal pieces to remove rust! Not only is it working again but now it’s working better than before! We’re so happy to have it fixed and to restore our original door! Thank you! Great customer service, reasonable, and reliable craftsmanship.
