I am writing this review for Dr. Tarun Kumar who is probably one of the best allergists I have met so far. Three years ago, I used to get nasal blocks a lot during evenings and red rashes on my leg. Dr. Kumar came up with a clear strategy for testing my environmental and food allergies -namely gluten and nuts- almonds, cashews, and peanuts. The food allergy tests were done during 4 hrs. sessions which had systematic introduction of the allergen. I feared peanuts but today I have incorporated all nuts including peanut as part of my diet. It is very clear now that environmental allergies are my main issues and my discussion with him on using saline nasal spray and handling dog allergies has helped control the occasional flare-ups. I have asked him a lot of questions and he answers clearly with patience and simple practical suggestions. A truly outstanding doctor in his field. His staff are very friendly and make you feel at ease.

We used All Seasons Event Rentals for the chairs, tables, and table cloths for our wedding and we were extremely happy with their service. We worked with Karla and she was great! June 1, 2013 I was hit by a car and nearly lost my left foot which was just hanging by its skin. Luckily I was sent to Stanford ( 4hrs north from my accident in Arroyo Grande ) and David saved my left foot. I had a double halo around my left leg for 9 months and I was in a wheelchair for over a year. Today, nearly 11 years later my new hobby and joy for the past 2 years is mountain biking. Since my accident I have gotten married in 2017 and taught my wife to cross country ski. I am also performing my normal occupation of finish carpentry/woodworking. I was told at one point that I would never walk normal again and also possibly amputation. Thank you David Lowenberg for giving me life.
I've been to dozens of different reflexology / chinese type massage places over the last 20 years, but Avee 9 is clearly the best place by a LOT.
Now it should be understood that I like a massage that some would consider way too hard. I want the mass of the titanic with the anger of a teenager thrust into my back with explosive force. This is obviously not for everyone.
Jennifer and Yoyo ( I am probably spelling them incorrectly ) are soooooo good at what they do. Both of them can do a walk on back technique without a towel covering that allows them to dig their heels into my lower back while sliding them forward while using oil. It's incredible.
When they switch to their hands you can feel them hunting for knots, discovering issues and working them out. If they do happen to miss something just ask. They are happy to help.
There are many common issues I see with some other Chinese reflexology places. Those issues include uneven massaging ( ex: rubbing the right shoulder blade for 4 minutes then skipping the left ), extremely light pressure, no knowledge of proper pressure points, using too much oil, loud bickering in chinese between co-workers, unstable when using walk on back technique and falling into a memorized routine without paying attention to the clients body.
Sometimes you get a place that avoids 90% of these problems and that's a damn good massage. Avee 9 avoids all the problems and does the BEST job.
The ONLY issues that I have with this place are the noise & parking. It's not particularly quiet and the two parking spots in the back can be full via locals in the neighborhood. To me it's still worth it. I work hard physical jobs that worsen my sciatica and need a massage to get me back to work. A little noise and parking at petco is no big deal. Additionally, It's quite small so there is no room for a shower which is a bummer but that's not a deal breaker.
I moved from Redwood City to South San Francisco recently and tried a local place for convenience and WOW it was truly AWFUL in comparison. I am done trying different places. I know I will never find a place as good as Avee 9.
Is it a fancy spa with bamboo signage, facials and a sauna? Not at all. But if you need Thor's hammer thrust in your back at speed this is the place to go.
Calling ahead is always the best option and tip WELL. I always do and they take phenomenal care of me. 10/10 would recommend.
We loved this place!! My husband happened to pass by because its main road and got an excellent cut! We loved how precise she was, and generally so sweet and friendly. She even gave him a little baggy with Vietnamese treats. The place is a bit of your standard cozy barbershop. The cut was about $44! Highly recommend!
Best haircut I’ve ever had period by Keisuke. He’s very careful, knowledgeable and has master craft. He uses the clippers on your hair carefully and manually cut the hair with layers and natural messy look thats super cool. Creates volume as well and looks very stylish. It’s a bit expensive but 100% worth it! I also love the smell and the music of the shop as well plus the deco.
Melissa was fantastic! I am always nervous coming in as a new client anywhere, but she put me at ease right away. Melissa listens to what you want and delivers. I wanted a low-maintenance mushroom brown balayage, and that's exactly what I walked out with! She is also gentle with how she treats your hair, which I appreciated so much as someone with hair that easily tangles. Already can't wait to come back to touch up once my hair is longer! I booked with Bree to re touch blonde roots on my waist length brown and baby pink bleached hair -ended up with Vanessa by accident and I’m so happy with the results. 10/10 - This was the first time I’ve been to a salon and the price at the beginning was the same at the end and my hair looks fab! I love Art+Gold salon - it has a warm, inviting and hip vibe. Everyone is super friendly and customer service oriented. It is well-run and efficient - always busy yet rarely do I see someone waiting. I've seen Elisabeth Pearlman for my hair color for the last 4+ years. She is a true pro and color expert - I'm always happy with my results. Other stylists & colorists at the salon seem extremely talented as well.

I’ve been getting my hair cut with Lilian for the last 3 years, and she always gives me a great haircut. She’s fast (I’m usually done in about 20 minutes) but it never feels rushed or like we’re on the clock. I also really enjoy our conversations, which makes the appointment feel easy and relaxed. Her space is clean and inviting, and she always has great music playing, sometimes instrumental covers of pop songs. Highly recommend Lilian if you’re looking for a reliable, friendly, and efficient haircut.
First let me just say this salon does it all! Friendly and knowledgeable hair stylists. I've been trough many other salons around the area that have done decent but not as good as this one. Got a manicure, pedicure, and eyebrows waxed. Very chill vibe. Efficient and luxurious at the same time (my favorite combination). The women were very nice and accommodating and the space was very relaxing and not super noisy. I was in the neighborhood shopping at Target and saw they had great reviews so I decided to try it. So glad I did. I will definitely be back again!

Got the gel cat eye nail with gel builder overlay with Chloe, which includes nail shaping and cuticle care as well. The service was waterless. My technician Chloe was meticulous and detailed with the painting. After almost 2 months, still no lifting or chipping. The shape grew out beautifully.
The store was clean and has a wide selection of colors to choose from. They also have the newer generation cat eye gel, which has finer particles so the outcome looks super clear and less glittery.

I started getting my dip done here a few months ago. Aaron is the best nail technician I have seen in years. I have gone to 3 other places in Redwood City and none of them even come close. He is very meticulous and detail oriented. If you’re careful enough to have thinner dip, he can do that. If you’re super hard on your hands (like me) he can do them thicker while still making them look amazing. No weird thick spots, still thinner at the cuticle, very smooth, and all around excellent shaping. He is also gentle and regularly checks in with you to make sure the Dremel isn’t too hot when removing the old dip. No cuts. No pain. I can get about 3 weeks out of my nails until they get too long and start to bother me. Highly recommend Aaron for dip.

I’ve been to this location 3 times and overall I’m super happy with the results. I’m not very careful with my acrylic nails so at most they last 2 weeks. However, my nails from this store have lasted more than a month with great shape and color. I would say it’s $10 pricier than some places in downtown Redwood City but it’s definitely worth it.
I always get excellent service when I come here. Sarah and all the other technicians are great. There are lots of colors to choose from, special attention to detail, and flexible appointments. Bring any design to Susan and she can recreate. :)

He took the time to really understand my hair and discuss with me what I wanted while making helpful suggestions. He did such a nice job with the layering and shaping, he really takes his craft seriously and has clearly mastered it. I was vacationing from Washington and wanted to cover up an old very ugly heart tattoo, I knew what I wanted over it, but didn’t really have a clear vision, victor not only came up with a beautiful image, but he transferred it to my wrist totally covering up the very ugly tattoo and putting in its stead a beautiful tattoo that I love showing off!! If I lived here I would get more tattoos done by him. I’m very grateful.

Boudreau Plumbing & Heating just left my house. There was a problem with the installation of my mini-splits that had been done by a different company, and I had no heat. It was a complicated mess that needed a lot of debugging. Boudreau were excellent. They knew what they were doing and they fixed everything. Best of all, they did quality work.
I’m a handyman. I know the difference between quality work, barely good enough work, and shoddy work. Most contractors I deal with overcharge for shoddy work. Not Boudreau. I was VERY pleased with them, and will happily call them again if there is ever another problem with my HVAC system.
I really don’t know if they’re the cheapest price around, because that’s not what I was looking for. I wasn’t shopping around for price, I was shopping around for knowledge and quality of work. And I got exactly what I’d hoped for. If you need help (especially with Bryant or Carrier mini-splits like mine), I’d encourage you to give them a try.

I was having a difficult time with a bad clogged bathroom sink. My insurance company recommended Shoreway Plumbing. Abraham called very quickly to schedule an appointment. He was very polite and was able to give an appointment right away. The technician, Kevin, arrived on time and quickly got to work unclogging the drain. In a short time the drain was running clear again. He also fixed a broken aerator on the kitchen faucet. He was very clean with his job, professional and kind especially to my 3 year old grandson who thought he was the supervisor of the job giving Kevin a lot of advise....lol. I would definitely use Shoreway Plumbing again for my plumbing issues.
My water bill was extremely high this month and I had no idea why. I called pg&e and they said I had a water leak somewhere in my house. After calling around I decided on USA leak detector because they were able to get me an appointment the same day. They were able to pin point exactly where I had a leak. Steve was able to come out and fix my problem in 20 minutes which end up saving me a lot of money. He was extremely knowledgeable and didnt mind providing insight. I highly suggest them for fast and efficient work I’ll be calling USA leak detector for all my plumbing needs!
I had MC Plumbing put in a property line clean out. Jose and his team were highly efficient and professional. He started the job immediately and had it complete in 2 days. The job looks great. They also cleaned up everything and hauled away the extra dirt. His pricing was much more fair than all the others I had talked to. I had him pull a permit and the inspector loved the work as well. I will definitely call them again with any other plumbing needs I have in the future.

I woke up to a power outage. PG&E came out that morning and said my fuse box completely melted and would need replacing. Thinking this would take at least a couple weeks to find an electrician and get permits, I was prepared for the worst. The first few calls confirmed the wait times, BUT, when I called Bayshore Electric they immediately understood the gravity of my situation and were able to replace my fuse box the same day as well as get emergency permitting and power back on!
They even upgraded my service from 100 amp to 200 amp since I was replacing the fuse box anyway. The installation was clean and professional. Everything works perfectly again.
Price was very reasonable given the circumstances. Couldn't be happier!

Yet again, Lewis Carpet Cleaners have proven to be amazing! Luis is the best-- prompt, courteous, professional, expert, generous and friendly. And he is able to remove the most persistent stains. Lewis is the company you must use if you want clean carpets. We have them come out twice a year so that our carpets look clean and actually are clean deep down!
The entire staff were helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. Sequoia is getting some very tough stains out of my outdoor cushions. Professional.

This is a long overdue review. We’ve been using Maria and Maria Cleaning for many years. Our friend first recommended them to us. Back then our life was very busy with our first new-born. They helped us a lot in keeping our home clean and organized and used kids-friendly cleaning materials like vinegar. They always do a very thorough job. Everyone in the cleaning team is very friendly, professional, and attentive to details, corners, and surfaces underneath. Over these years, Pedro has been very responsive and easy to communicate with, and is willing to accommodate our schedules and needs.

The Maids in Redwood City were kind and understanding in a difficult situation where I was scheduling cleaning for a family member while other service providers were coming and going from the home. It was hectic, and they were patient as it took time to get access to the home, despite The Maids being on time as scheduled. I plan to set up routine cleaning with them soon.

Our 22-year-old wood floors had water and sun damage, along with usual wear and tear, especially in our kitchen. The DG crew replaced the damaged boards, sanded and applied finish to the remaining rooms and hallway. The results were beyond our expectations--it looked as if all the floors were newly installed. The crew was also careful in covering cupboards and built-ins with plastic, which kept dust to a minimum. Their pricing was fair for what they accomplished--we couldn't be more pleased.

We used Mayen Builders for some minor upgrades/remodeling to a bathroom, as well as some small touch up items elsewhere (e.g., drywall patch and paint). Hector was great to work with, and did great work. His particular superpower is communications - he communicates better than any other contractor I've worked with, including making sure that we know the impact of decisions we're making, we know the materials being used, etc. Hector also went above and beyond in a few ways on our job. As one example, we had arranged with Hector to pick up a new bathroom vanity and countertop from the warehouse. Hector picked it up, but then noticed some serious manufacturing defects that would have made the vanity not hold up long term. Instead of trying to hide the issue and take the path of least resistance, Hector actually went back to the wareouse and worked with them to ensure a new unit was provided. I would happily hire Hector again for a future job, and would recommend him based on communications, fair price, and quality work. Thank you, Hector!
Rian and his crew at Rhino’s Construction, Inc were amazing for our ADU build, Very professional, easy to communicate with, and have a great attention to detail. San Carlos is not always an easy city to build in, permit and otherwise, but Rhino’s Construction, Inc is very familiar with their process/requirements, which is extremely helpful, for both you and what the city is looking for. I highly recommend them for an ADU or any other new construction and/or remodel.
Xpress Kitchen & Bath remodeled our kitchen, three bathrooms, and our laundry room, and we are extremely happy with the results.
1. Completed ahead of schedule: The project was estimated at 13 weeks, which matched other contractors' estimates. Despite that, the team finished two weeks early.
2. Accurate and transparent pricing: The initial estimate included material and labor. We made several changes during the project, and all additions and deletions were priced or credited fairly. The final cost was within 2% of the original estimate, with no unexpected charges.
3. Strong design support: We worked closely with Steve on the layout and material selections. His guidance was excellent, and we were very pleased with the final design.
4. High quality materials: Most materials were selected from the Xpress showroom, and everything offered was high quality. For example, the floor tiles were porcelain rather than luxury vinyl.
5. Excellent workmanship: Majid was on site almost daily to ensure the work was done correctly. He often suggested thoughtful improvements beyond what was specified.
6. Reliable post-project service: A few minor issues came up after completion, and Kevin and Lawrence responded promptly each time.

Jim did the inspection and was very patient in helping us understand the issues we had (dry wood termites). He even noticed that the crawl space has a leak, which helped us identify a plumbing issue! Then a week later, Gabriel and Roberto came for the treatment. They were professional, kind, patient, and clearly experts. They got the job done in 1.5 hours and even inspected other concerns we had! It was absolutely great working with all of them and I highly recommend them!!
My front lawn and rear lawn was full of gopher holes. Ronal's brother William put an end to the gopher problem after four visits that spanned two months.William was responsive when I saw a fresh mound appear. He came out the next day to set a trap at the mound.

I’ve used Brothers Tree Service in the past and always have had an excellent experience. Recently, we had a few stumps that needed to be removed (one that was very complex with lots of wires and pipes near it), trees that needed fertilizing, and trees that needed pruning. We have also used Angel as an expert arborist. The work they do is done on time and at excellent quality. We can’t recommend Brother’s strongly enough.

Caring for a spectacular birch tree in my back yard. Experts have done an excellent job of trimming and removing non productive branches and cutting branches that touched the house. They also removed all infected branches on the Asian Pear tree. The expert was very knowledgeable, provided good assessment and supervised the actual work. I am very satisfied with the outcome.

I was having back pain for weeks when my doctor recommended me to see Dr Robinson. She did an amazing job adjusting my back which made it much better. The therapist was very nice and the staffing were nice.
Following a car accident, my husband and I were referred to Dr. Joe and Dr. Roel for treatment for whiplash, concussion, and back pain. They took X-rays, give comprehensive exams at intervals, and re-evaluate needs as time progresses. Eddie does the therapeutic deep tissue massage- make sure to tell him if you want more pressure! They have rigorously treated my symptoms and I’m doing so well compared to when I came in. The office is so welcoming and all the staff have smiles and know your name. I will continue to use their adjustments even after this treatment is finished and would not hesitate to refer someone to get treated with these Docs!

I have been coming to Dr. Herrera for years! He's the best chiropractor I've seen and I've been to a handful of them over the years.
I appreciate how he aligns the bones as well as massages specific areas of soft tissue/fascia. He uses different techniques, like stretching, movement, and a massage gun to loosen tight areas. I also like the techniques he uses for alignment, it never feels too rough. He is gentle but firm and effective. He always asks if the pressure is too much and makes sure I'm comfortable.

Betty gives incredible deep tissue massages with just the right amount of pressure, and Mario is excellent at focusing on problem areas like shoulders where stress tends to build up. On top of that, they offer a private redwood sauna that you can enjoy before or after your massage, which is such a relaxing bonus. Highly recommend!

My review of Stephania Humphrey sounds like the others here, I came in with severe sciatica symptom pain that has plagued me for a year now, and this was a last-ditch effort to find some kind of care to avoid surgery. I had lumbar surgery 25 years ago, did not want another, and had seen specialist MDs (including prednisone pills and epidural cortisone injections), lots of physical therapy, and chiropractor during this past year, to no avail. I did get some improvement from an anti-inflammatory diet, but what has really helped me get my life back (in only 4 sessions) is the treatment from Stephania - especially the deep tissue massage. Wow; Truly worth it. Thank you, Stephania!
Stephán is the best massage therapist! I have intense chronic shoulder and neck pain and have been to so many massage therapist, and he’s the only one who can work out the knots and super tight spots. Amazing techniques and just the right pressure.

I've been to dozens of different reflexology / chinese type massage places over the last 20 years, but Avee 9 is clearly the best place by a LOT.
Now it should be understood that I like a massage that some would consider way too hard. I want the mass of the titanic with the anger of a teenager thrust into my back with explosive force. This is obviously not for everyone.
Jennifer and Yoyo ( I am probably spelling them incorrectly ) are soooooo good at what they do. Both of them can do a walk on back technique without a towel covering that allows them to dig their heels into my lower back while sliding them forward while using oil. It's incredible.
When they switch to their hands you can feel them hunting for knots, discovering issues and working them out. If they do happen to miss something just ask. They are happy to help.
There are many common issues I see with some other Chinese reflexology places. Those issues include uneven massaging ( ex: rubbing the right shoulder blade for 4 minutes then skipping the left ), extremely light pressure, no knowledge of proper pressure points, using too much oil, loud bickering in chinese between co-workers, unstable when using walk on back technique and falling into a memorized routine without paying attention to the clients body.
Sometimes you get a place that avoids 90% of these problems and that's a damn good massage. Avee 9 avoids all the problems and does the BEST job.
The ONLY issues that I have with this place are the noise & parking. It's not particularly quiet and the two parking spots in the back can be full via locals in the neighborhood. To me it's still worth it. I work hard physical jobs that worsen my sciatica and need a massage to get me back to work. A little noise and parking at petco is no big deal. Additionally, It's quite small so there is no room for a shower which is a bummer but that's not a deal breaker.
I moved from Redwood City to South San Francisco recently and tried a local place for convenience and WOW it was truly AWFUL in comparison. I am done trying different places. I know I will never find a place as good as Avee 9.
Is it a fancy spa with bamboo signage, facials and a sauna? Not at all. But if you need Thor's hammer thrust in your back at speed this is the place to go.
Calling ahead is always the best option and tip WELL. I always do and they take phenomenal care of me. 10/10 would recommend.

Woke up with a pinched nerve in my right shoulder and it was so painful. It was worse than recovering from surgery. I had to use my left hand to lift my right hand to the desk to type.
Two days later, I went to Now Wellness with Sachi and had my second acupuncture experience ever. Some of the pins hurt going in, however the relief was almost instantaneous. The next morning, my should was brand new. I could lift it over my head, type, get in and out of my shirts and wash my hair with both hands easily. It was a miracle!
I did four sessions with Sachi and she is a godsend. Acupuncture appointments are soothing, provide red light therapy and allows your mind to settle. Highly recommend and recovery was so fast!

I am so glad that I finally found this place after trying acupuncture and massage at so many other places. Doctor Gan is so knowledgeable and is always on point when she does acupuncture. I sit a lot at work and have both neck and back problem. In addition, I danced often so my legs are tight as well. She is able to help me loose the muscle and makes me feel recovered after every session. On top of that, they also have great therapeutic massages. Both Sunny and Leo are extraordinary and responsible. They are my life savers after a long working week

I would like to say that I started from scratch and had no prior driving experience before I took a lesson with my instructor named Francis. He knew how to coach really well, and I passed my Behind the Wheel test on my first try with only one error of signal. I would recommend this school if you have the money and time to spare. Otherwise, it was great a experience overall. I was nervous to learn driving starting from square one, and now I feel comfortable on the road after about 6 classes. It was great.
