Richard came and managed to get so much done in a relatively short amount of time. He replaced our shower-head and fixed the faucet, added recessed lighting in the bedroom, and re-wired most of the switches in our house. He also went above and beyond in making sure a buzzing noise we heard in our lights was fixed. Overall, it was a great experience. He is extremely professional and very detail oriented in his work.

June 1, 2013 I was hit by a car and nearly lost my left foot which was just hanging by its skin. Luckily I was sent to Stanford ( 4hrs north from my accident in Arroyo Grande ) and David saved my left foot. I had a double halo around my left leg for 9 months and I was in a wheelchair for over a year. Today, nearly 11 years later my new hobby and joy for the past 2 years is mountain biking. Since my accident I have gotten married in 2017 and taught my wife to cross country ski. I am also performing my normal occupation of finish carpentry/woodworking. I was told at one point that I would never walk normal again and also possibly amputation. Thank you David Lowenberg for giving me life.
I've been to dozens of different reflexology / chinese type massage places over the last 20 years, but Avee 9 is clearly the best place by a LOT.
Now it should be understood that I like a massage that some would consider way too hard. I want the mass of the titanic with the anger of a teenager thrust into my back with explosive force. This is obviously not for everyone.
Jennifer and Yoyo ( I am probably spelling them incorrectly ) are soooooo good at what they do. Both of them can do a walk on back technique without a towel covering that allows them to dig their heels into my lower back while sliding them forward while using oil. It's incredible.
When they switch to their hands you can feel them hunting for knots, discovering issues and working them out. If they do happen to miss something just ask. They are happy to help.
There are many common issues I see with some other Chinese reflexology places. Those issues include uneven massaging ( ex: rubbing the right shoulder blade for 4 minutes then skipping the left ), extremely light pressure, no knowledge of proper pressure points, using too much oil, loud bickering in chinese between co-workers, unstable when using walk on back technique and falling into a memorized routine without paying attention to the clients body.
Sometimes you get a place that avoids 90% of these problems and that's a damn good massage. Avee 9 avoids all the problems and does the BEST job.
The ONLY issues that I have with this place are the noise & parking. It's not particularly quiet and the two parking spots in the back can be full via locals in the neighborhood. To me it's still worth it. I work hard physical jobs that worsen my sciatica and need a massage to get me back to work. A little noise and parking at petco is no big deal. Additionally, It's quite small so there is no room for a shower which is a bummer but that's not a deal breaker.
I moved from Redwood City to South San Francisco recently and tried a local place for convenience and WOW it was truly AWFUL in comparison. I am done trying different places. I know I will never find a place as good as Avee 9.
Is it a fancy spa with bamboo signage, facials and a sauna? Not at all. But if you need Thor's hammer thrust in your back at speed this is the place to go.
Calling ahead is always the best option and tip WELL. I always do and they take phenomenal care of me. 10/10 would recommend.

We loved this place!! My husband happened to pass by because its main road and got an excellent cut! We loved how precise she was, and generally so sweet and friendly. She even gave him a little baggy with Vietnamese treats. The place is a bit of your standard cozy barbershop. The cut was about $44! Highly recommend!
They did any amazing job cutting and coloring my hair. I was impressed by the fact that the stylist only used scissors and lot clippers on the back and sides. It was akin to an artist but with scissors. I highly recommend for any man that is graying and wants color!

i’ve had many decades of haircuts. i was with my last barber for 15 years. she recently transitioned to a new focus so i had to find a new barber. ugh. i tried lilian based on the google reviews. i was impressed by her responsiveness to set up an appointment. she also texted me proactively on her schedule status the day of the appointment. the haircut was perfect, the best ever. she is extremely professional. extra points for the functional and not ostentatious shop. her prices are very reasonable. expensive shop settings are a big red flag. lilian is now my new barber. hope to benefit from her services for the next decades.
First let me just say this salon does it all! Friendly and knowledgeable hair stylists. I've been trough many other salons around the area that have done decent but not as good as this one. Flor is the best! Not only is she good at what she does but also extremely knowledgeable for everything you need to know about your hair. They got my business till my hair falls off hopefully not. Got the gel cat eye nail with gel builder overlay with Chloe, which includes nail shaping and cuticle care as well. The service was waterless. My technician Chloe was meticulous and detailed with the painting. After almost 2 months, still no lifting or chipping. The shape grew out beautifully.
The store was clean and has a wide selection of colors to choose from. They also have the newer generation cat eye gel, which has finer particles so the outcome looks super clear and less glittery.

I started getting my dip done here a few months ago. Aaron is the best nail technician I have seen in years. I have gone to 3 other places in Redwood City and none of them even come close. He is very meticulous and detail oriented. If you’re careful enough to have thinner dip, he can do that. If you’re super hard on your hands (like me) he can do them thicker while still making them look amazing. No weird thick spots, still thinner at the cuticle, very smooth, and all around excellent shaping. He is also gentle and regularly checks in with you to make sure the Dremel isn’t too hot when removing the old dip. No cuts. No pain. I can get about 3 weeks out of my nails until they get too long and start to bother me. Highly recommend Aaron for dip.

He took the time to really understand my hair and discuss with me what I wanted while making helpful suggestions. Shoreway plumbing service person Fernando systematically & efficiently was able to locate, define and repair the shower hot water fluctuations we were experiencing and did so in a friendly and informative way.
Called at 10 am for emergency service of clogged sewer main. Receptionist was attentive and said she would call me back in 5 minutes because all her guys were out on jobs. She promptly called me back, had a technician on the way for service. Technician was quick, courteous and solved the issue at the agreed upon price and was done by 1pm. Second time using Oro Pro, and would recommend them for fast and thorough service.
I had MC Plumbing put in a property line clean out. Jose and his team were highly efficient and professional. He started the job immediately and had it complete in 2 days. The job looks great. They also cleaned up everything and hauled away the extra dirt. His pricing was much more fair than all the others I had talked to. I had him pull a permit and the inspector loved the work as well. I will definitely call them again with any other plumbing needs I have in the future.

I woke up to a power outage. PG&E came out that morning and said my fuse box completely melted and would need replacing. Thinking this would take at least a couple weeks to find an electrician and get permits, I was prepared for the worst. The first few calls confirmed the wait times, BUT, when I called Bayshore Electric they immediately understood the gravity of my situation and were able to replace my fuse box the same day as well as get emergency permitting and power back on!
They even upgraded my service from 100 amp to 200 amp since I was replacing the fuse box anyway. The installation was clean and professional. Everything works perfectly again.
Price was very reasonable given the circumstances. Couldn't be happier!

Yet again, Lewis Carpet Cleaners have proven to be amazing! Luis is the best-- prompt, courteous, professional, expert, generous and friendly. And he is able to remove the most persistent stains. Lewis is the company you must use if you want clean carpets. We have them come out twice a year so that our carpets look clean and actually are clean deep down!
I highly recommend John Watt, Good Housekeeping Inc., for residential mold investigation, analysis, and remediation. He has access to breath of test modalities, depending on the level of investigation. In my situation we were able to correlate a household issue with a health issue. John is a very strong problem solver who traces the test results to the assignable causes. His remediation methods are natural and safe. In addition, I found his customer service, including scheduling, exceptional.
Jesus and his team were great! The got out stains in our carpet that had been there for years! They were very sweet and did a great job!

We were very pleased with the work from Tapia Tile on our front steps tiling project. Eligio and his team have a great reputation and it is well deserved
Our 22-year-old wood floors had water and sun damage, along with usual wear and tear, especially in our kitchen. The DG crew replaced the damaged boards, sanded and applied finish to the remaining rooms and hallway. The results were beyond our expectations--it looked as if all the floors were newly installed. The crew was also careful in covering cupboards and built-ins with plastic, which kept dust to a minimum. Their pricing was fair for what they accomplished--we couldn't be more pleased.
Once I was ready to get the project started, the crew was able to come out a few days later. They knocked it out quickly and with great quality.I had some in-ceiling speakers installed which was pretty involved since speaker wire had to be pulled through a number of obstacles in the ceiling and wall. They got it all patched up and looking like they were never there.They also hid other speaker and TV cables with high precision. I was notably impressed by how they did my Left/Right wall-mounted speaker cables. They took the time to precisely locate the holes they needed to cut so it would (1) be totally hidden and (2) exactly line up with the speaker terminal, which is a small target. It may sound trivial, but it actually would have been rather involved to get that right.In addition to the A/V work, we had them add some recess lights which look fantastic. The foreman was able to help us decide where to locate the lights and we super happy happy with where they are now.With all this work, it was still cheaper than going directly with the A/V installers I quoted initially for just the speaker and speaker wire install.I would 100% hire Rodi Construction again. We used Mayen Builders for some minor upgrades/remodeling to a bathroom, as well as some small touch up items elsewhere (e.g., drywall patch and paint). Hector was great to work with, and did great work. His particular superpower is communications - he communicates better than any other contractor I've worked with, including making sure that we know the impact of decisions we're making, we know the materials being used, etc. Hector also went above and beyond in a few ways on our job. As one example, we had arranged with Hector to pick up a new bathroom vanity and countertop from the warehouse. Hector picked it up, but then noticed some serious manufacturing defects that would have made the vanity not hold up long term. Instead of trying to hide the issue and take the path of least resistance, Hector actually went back to the wareouse and worked with them to ensure a new unit was provided. I would happily hire Hector again for a future job, and would recommend him based on communications, fair price, and quality work. Thank you, Hector!
Rian and his crew at Rhino’s Construction, Inc were amazing for our ADU build, Very professional, easy to communicate with, and have a great attention to detail. San Carlos is not always an easy city to build in, permit and otherwise, but Rhino’s Construction, Inc is very familiar with their process/requirements, which is extremely helpful, for both you and what the city is looking for. I highly recommend them for an ADU or any other new construction and/or remodel.
Steve, Majid and Kevin did an impressive job on my full bathroom remodel. Steve had excellent design ideas and was patient with my indecisiveness; Majid’s tight coordination of the subcontractors got the job done in one month (which was ahead of schedule!) and Kevin was responsive to my requests for touch-ups at the end. All the workers were friendly, courteous, and professional. I appreciate the quality of their work and am pleased with their completive pricing. (Their “package deal” easily beat the 3 bids I got from independent contractors, even though I “switched out” some of the items in their package.) It was a positive experience from start to finish! (Tip: Be sure to discuss your preferred placement of the vanity lights with Majid or he will install them 1 foot from the ceiling, too high for my taste.)

Jim did the inspection and was very patient in helping us understand the issues we had (dry wood termites). He even noticed that the crawl space has a leak, which helped us identify a plumbing issue! This week, I tried Pilates for the first time at RockSalt Studio in Redwood City. My friend dragged me out of bed at 6:00 AM for this adventure haha. Luckily, finding parking was a breeze since it was early. Walking into the studio, I was blown away by how clean and cozy it was. The instructor gave us a warm welcome, setting the vibe for the whole class. She explained everything in a way that even newbies like me could understand, which was a huge relief. What I loved most was how chill the class was. I didn't feel pressured to keep up with everyone else; I could go at my own pace. The instructor was so positive and helpful, always making sure I was doing the moves right. Plus, the equipment was top-notch and easy to use. After the class, I couldn't wait to come back for more. It was such a great experience, and I'm already looking forward to my next session.

I’ve had the best massages here—better than anywhere else in the Bay Area. Betty gives incredible deep tissue massages with just the right amount of pressure, and Mario is excellent at focusing on problem areas like shoulders where stress tends to build up. On top of that, they offer a private redwood sauna that you can enjoy before or after your massage, which is such a relaxing bonus. Highly recommend!

My review of Stephania Humphrey sounds like the others here, I came in with severe sciatica symptom pain that has plagued me for a year now, and this was a last-ditch effort to find some kind of care to avoid surgery. I had lumbar surgery 25 years ago, did not want another, and had seen specialist MDs (including prednisone pills and epidural cortisone injections), lots of physical therapy, and chiropractor during this past year, to no avail. I did get some improvement from an anti-inflammatory diet, but what has really helped me get my life back (in only 4 sessions) is the treatment from Stephania - especially the deep tissue massage. Wow; Truly worth it. Thank you, Stephania!
I had my first session with Colleen last week. I let her know I pulled a calf muscle and lot of tightness on my shoulders/neck. She suggested deep tissue and a sports massage which was a great call. I actually fell asleep for a moment but I also felt the strength of her technique. Colleen stood out to me not only because of her technique but also because she took time to sit down and talk to me before the session. She gave me helpful tips on how to make the most of the massage as well.

Stephán is the best massage therapist! I have intense chronic shoulder and neck pain and have been to so many massage therapist, and he’s the only one who can work out the knots and super tight spots. Amazing techniques and just the right pressure.

I regularly go to Nancy and Edgar at Massage Envy in Redwood City; they are both great therapists. I like deep tissue and they both provide the right amount of pressure for me. Edgar also includes some stretching in his practice, which I often need due to sitting for long hours at work. He regularly checks in with you about the degree if pressure throughout your session. I always walk out feeling relaxed. Also, Front desk staff is very friendly and professional.
I've been to dozens of different reflexology / chinese type massage places over the last 20 years, but Avee 9 is clearly the best place by a LOT.
Now it should be understood that I like a massage that some would consider way too hard. I want the mass of the titanic with the anger of a teenager thrust into my back with explosive force. This is obviously not for everyone.
Jennifer and Yoyo ( I am probably spelling them incorrectly ) are soooooo good at what they do. Both of them can do a walk on back technique without a towel covering that allows them to dig their heels into my lower back while sliding them forward while using oil. It's incredible.
When they switch to their hands you can feel them hunting for knots, discovering issues and working them out. If they do happen to miss something just ask. They are happy to help.
There are many common issues I see with some other Chinese reflexology places. Those issues include uneven massaging ( ex: rubbing the right shoulder blade for 4 minutes then skipping the left ), extremely light pressure, no knowledge of proper pressure points, using too much oil, loud bickering in chinese between co-workers, unstable when using walk on back technique and falling into a memorized routine without paying attention to the clients body.
Sometimes you get a place that avoids 90% of these problems and that's a damn good massage. Avee 9 avoids all the problems and does the BEST job.
The ONLY issues that I have with this place are the noise & parking. It's not particularly quiet and the two parking spots in the back can be full via locals in the neighborhood. To me it's still worth it. I work hard physical jobs that worsen my sciatica and need a massage to get me back to work. A little noise and parking at petco is no big deal. Additionally, It's quite small so there is no room for a shower which is a bummer but that's not a deal breaker.
I moved from Redwood City to South San Francisco recently and tried a local place for convenience and WOW it was truly AWFUL in comparison. I am done trying different places. I know I will never find a place as good as Avee 9.
Is it a fancy spa with bamboo signage, facials and a sauna? Not at all. But if you need Thor's hammer thrust in your back at speed this is the place to go.
Calling ahead is always the best option and tip WELL. I always do and they take phenomenal care of me. 10/10 would recommend.
