My summarized review is that Colton’s team at CMY is a crew of trustworthy craftsmen who take pride in their work; seasoned project managers who are adept to finding solutions and keeping you informed every step of the way; and designers capable of understanding your vision and providing you with thoughtful suggestions and quality options at multiple price points. Everyone we interacted with throughout the renovation made us feel at ease and in good hands, a tone we believe Colten sets from the top. CMY is worth every penny if you’re looking for quality work done in a timely fashion, free of hassle and hidden costs. It’ll be the best money you spend with a contractor, guaranteed.
CMY did an incredible job renovating our ensuite bathroom and will begin work on our guest bathroom shortly. We sincerely look forward to working with them again in the near future when we reno our upstairs living/dining area and kitchen.
For the full story of how CMY went above and beyond for us, please take 2 more minutes to read about what happened when our Condo building management sent notice to pause all renovations, when we were halfway through ours…
We were three weeks into gutting our ensuite bathroom, already ahead of schedule, when our building gave notice to pause all renovations due to a hot and cold water riser replacement project. Unreal. What unfolded from here was a month of waiting for more information (at this point, reno is fully paused and we’re living in a construction site), to back and forth with the building on when the work would begin and whether or not we could skip the line to have our condo done first, given that both risers were exposed and accessible in our demo’d bathroom. This turned into a saga that spanned over a year. Throughout it all, Colton and our team were supportive and helped us find creative solutions to get through what proved to be a very challenging time, because on top of it all, we were expecting our first child who was born and then became a toddler while living in limbo and various stages of construction. Colton’s team got us back to a functional 2-piece en suite as soon as we gave them word to do so and waited patiently with us for more information. When it became clear that it would be a long wait for our unit’s position in the queue, we asked Colton to complete the renovation, accepting that we would need to cut out and replace one of the walls in our walk-in shower when our turn came up for riser replacement. We asked Colton’s team to put an order in for additional tile. Instead, and after prioritizing our work to start within two weeks of notice, Colton donated us spare large slab tiles for the one wall in our shower, which allowed us to put our nice, carefully chosen tiles aside to be used only after the risers were replaced, saving us hundreds of dollars.
I think there are contractors who would have been irritated by our situation and how it inconvenienced them or made their job more difficult, and could have potentially made things more difficult for us and added to our considerable stress and costs. We’re so grateful to the team at CMY for how they helped us navigate our first home renovation that had more than its fair share of wrenches thrown into the mix. At no point did we ever feel anything other than patience and a sincere desire to help us from everyone we interacted with at CMY.
While CMY has clients in dwellings of all kinds, I think that if you live in a condo, where you don’t control everything and, frankly, working with building management can be difficult, I would especially recommend CMY.
