Teddy does his best to get you in at the time that fits best for you and will have long shifts yet still gives you the attention needed for your sessions! Teddy and Erica are super sweet and motivating. Teddy will push you hard because he know how much more you can give, he sees the potential in us even before we see it in ourselves. Eric and Rikko are incredibly knowledgeable, encouraging, and genuinely fun to train with. The community is wonderful too — every time I'm in the gym, the vibe is supportive and positive. I also travel a lot, and they've been great about staying flexible, even doing virtual sessions when I'm on the road. Training with them has made a real difference in my overall fitness, mental health, and even my running and pickleball.“

2650 Shattuck Ave., Berkeley“Rob Lin is an exceptional physical therapist. Rob and his entire team are patient and welcoming, and his 1-on-1 work is phenomenal. If you have the option, I cannot recommend The Technique enough. I knew when I signed up that working with him would be an investment, and it is one I am so glad I made.
I came in with an injury that I have been struggling with for 4 months. I had been seeing another PT but I had repeated setbacks during my recovery. I was in consistent pain and I wasn’t improving.
In 3 weeks or so, Rob has gotten me to a place where I can function again and even push my physical limits. He is kind, reassuring, and his hands-on work has consistently made an obvious impact. Immediately after getting off the table, I feel less pain and improved stability that last. His work on me has allowed me to push further during session and during at-home exercises, which he’s tailored based on my feedback.
TLDR: I’ve already recommended Rob and The Technique PT to friends struggling with injuries and would urge anyone to book a free in-person consultation. Rob is amazing and I look forward to every session. I can’t thank him and his team enough.

I'm 71 and my partner is 68 and we wanted a gym and a trainer who would work us hard but be knowledgeable and respectful of the challenges of keeping older bodies fit and strong. Alison listened carefully to our goals and concerns and set us up with Jenn. Working with Jenn is a delight - she knows her stuff and pushes me just enough. Every week she shows up with a different workout that keeps me on my toes - she's always fully present and responsive. As for the gym itself, once you've covered the basics like cleanliness and equipment quality (check and check), it's all about the vibe - are you comfortable being there or not. I've been a member of multiple gyms before and Truve is hands down the place I've most enjoyed going. Do yourself a favor and give them a try.“

So welcoming and friendly, always making sure I was pushing myself. Together with Billy they brought the vibes and had great playlists to keep you motivated. I was there for a week and felt like I'd been part of the crew for ages. Couldn't recommend more! Such an awesome team!“

But to my surprise, it has a very pleasant atmosphere without any loud obnoxious activity and the equipment is well maintained. There seems to be no loud music at all which is great. It also is very clean, which matters a lot when it comes to joining a gym. The parking lot is very safe and clean, which is very pleasing so I don’t have to worry about any theft or break-ins. Overall it is a very nice and safe gym. I give huge appreciation to the owner and the manager for Making this gym very welcoming and pleasant for everyone.
I just hope it continues to stay this way.“

It was not until I began working with Jonathan that I felt that I had the information I needed to heal. And heal I have. Jonathan listened carefully to my descriptions of pain, during the times I was not with him, as well as while working with him. Then he tried different exercises until he found the ones that were pain free but improved my mobility and my strength. I am so lucky to have found Jonathan. He is a thoughtful listener and a creative problem solver. He joins a vast knowledge of exercises with a deep well of compassion. I cannot recommend him enough.“
