I rarely leave reviews unless I really like a place. I live in LIC and always try to support local businesses. Today I called only 40 minutes ahead, and they still made it happen for me on such short notice.
I did a 30-minute foot massage and a 30-minute back massage. Before we started, I mentioned that I prefer stronger pressure on my feet, and the male massage therapist did a very good job adjusting based on my request.
I also saw some negative reviews, including a one-star review from someone named Zhan Z, but honestly everyone’s body is different and you know your own body better than anyone else. If the pressure isn’t right or you have a specific request, you need to communicate and speak up because therapists can’t automatically know which areas need more focus or stronger pressure.

I also don’t think the price is that high, especially in LIC. You have to understand that living in this neighborhood comes with higher prices — that’s just how LIC is nowadays. Otherwise, you can always go to Chinatown where prices are usually cheaper.
For me, I care more about convenience, cleanliness, and service. Being able to book last minute nearby without needing to travel far already adds value. Everyone has different expectations and budgets, but based on my own experience today, I felt the service matched the price.

I’ve been taking lessons with Joseph for five months now, and describing my experience as just vocal coaching couldn't be further from the truth. I’ve worked with several coaches throughout my life, but those journeys usually lasted only a couple of months. Not because I lacked commitment, but because I never felt truly seen or supported beyond the lesson itself.
It came as a surprise when I all of a sudden found Joseph to act not only as a vocal coach but as a guide, or how I like to call him, a mentor.
He doesn’t just meet you once a week and disappear until the next session. You’re present in his mind beyond the lesson, when he hears a song he thinks would suit your voice, he'll send you an email at 3am because he doesn't want to forget. He'll give you personalized exercises based on what he notices you need, lesson by lesson. His approach is deeply attentive and genuinely invested.
When I started, my pitch somewhat okay. We spent three lessons focused purely on ear training, and I can confidently say that now I almost never miss pitch once I hear a note, and when I do, I’m always very close. I also had the chance to meet him in person while I was in New York, and that lesson exceeded every expectation. It confirmed everything I already felt that is the fact that he is, by far, the most integral and committed voice coach I’ve ever worked with, and I’ve worked with quite a few.
I came to him with little confidence in myself and my voice, with a very pronounced break that held me back. Five months later, I can slide through that break, my voice has completely transformed, and it continues to change, because he’s helped me not only train it, but find it. Joseph teaches and guides with passion, care, and purpose. He’s not just a coach, he’s a mentor. And there’s no one I’d rather have as a mentor on this journey than him.

The staff are wonderful, the salon is pristine & Sandi is absolutely amazing!!! The first time I showed up with gray, curly & unkempt hair (was in a nursing home for a year prior). Sandi works pure magic, her skill set with curly hair, layers, blowouts is extraordinary! Her personality, attention to detail & aura makes the experience that much more special. Besides a perfect cut & blowout I feel like I spent the afternoon with friends.

He took the time to listen exactly to what I wanted (and what I didn't want!), and offered his expert advice to achieve the perfect style. Great prices but not all manicurists are made alike here. One all but destroyed my nails with the electric rotary file. Since then, I only use Cindy. She does a consistently excellent manicure and keeps my natural nails growing strong. She also put on excellent extensions when the other girl mutilated three nails before I stopped her from ruining more.
I'm very loyal to my usual nail salon, but I desperately needed a powder manicure and decided to try WellShow Nails on 11/18 -- and I'm so glad I did! I was greeted right away, accommodated as a walk-in, and genuinely felt taken care of from start to finish. The salon is cute, spacious, and beautifully decorated with tons of color options. The gentleman at the front even helped start my powder removal while I waited for my technician, which I really appreciated. I also loved the thoughtful touches -- the little silicone stylus so you can use your phone while your nails are soaking, the iPhone stand, and the lotion/scrub treatment at the end because my hands were so dry. My technician was patient, checked in with me throughout, and made sure the color and finish were exactly what I wanted. Two weeks later, my nails are still holding up beautifully, and I especially appreciate that the powder isn't thick -- it looks like my real nails. Even at checkout, the person at the front was kind and helpful, and I appreciated the flexible payment options. The only thing missing is a loyalty program or punch card for return customers -- I'd sign up in a heartbeat!

Listen don’t get me wrong I love this place and they do a pretty decent job here but I cannot justify the pricing. My sister and I went there, she got an acrylic fill and I got a gel fill. I got a simple French tip with a gold accent and she got pink nails with French tips and blooming gel as well as flowers and stars. When my sister asked how much it would be, the nail tech said it was $25 and when my sister asked if it was for both or one hand the technician didn’t respond. When I went to pay our nails were the exact same price $85. I don’t get how my sister who got an intricate design and my simple French nails were the same price. In total with tip I paid over $200 for both of us. The nails looked good don’t get me wrong I love them I’m just trying to justify how two completely different nails sets were the same price.

This review is for face threading: I get my whole face threaded for 20, I've had multiple different threaders due to my crazy schedule I never know when I'll be able to drop in, all 3 have done an excellent job!!! I don't break out- they're all gentle and know what they're doing. No bs, I'm lucky to find a place like this in my neighborhood!

I’ve been going to this salon for the past 8 years and Ruby always does an amazing job! I have thicker brows and she keeps the shape and makes them more defined, while still looking natural. When I’ve gone to other places, they thin them out way too much, but I’ve never had that issue here. Very painless process and also very affordable. Highly recommend!!!

I was nervous about trusting someone with this rug because it’s not easily replaceable. From the first interaction, I felt comfortable. When the rug was returned, I could immediately tell it had been cleaned properly. The fibers felt softer and the whole rug looked more balanced. It honestly made the room feel better overall.
Was a bit nervous about getting my silk rug cleaned, but it turned out fine. It still feels soft and delicate, just cleaner. That was my main concern going in. The silk rug cleaning didn’t damage anything, which is exactly what I wanted.

Noticed my cat limping around 7:30 on a Friday night. My regular vet was closed and the emergency vet wait was 3 hours long. I called this office and they told me they could get me right in. Rushed over and quickly felt at ease. Receptionist and nurses were patient despite my anxious rambling. They were gentle and patient with my pet. The doctor was soft spoken and attentive. He took the time to listen to every detail I gave and made me feel heard, validated and reassured during a scary time. Care was swift and they were transparent about cost, process etc and answered every question I had. So grateful that I found this place. Highly recommend!

We are very pleased with our choice of getting a second opinion for our dog Kai. She has a terrible paw infection and with the uncertainty of it, we needed another opinion, more information, more testing and this place gave us just that. I love Yoga Studio 6! I have been a student of Bert and Alicia's for over 10 years, and a practitioner of yoga for many more. I was so grateful when I found this space. The instructors are well versed in the principles and practice of Iyengar yoga and the studio space is warm and inviting.
