A great experience from start to finish. Charles quickly responded to my initial inquiry and put together a mood board incorporating the thoughts we had on each room. The design appointment with Charles and Trish was great as they guided me in selecting all our window treatments. Our install was today and we love our new window treatments. Charles was also there to ensure that everything went smoothly.

We had the BEST experience at Tutor Shack tutoring our son for his SAT. After working with a previous private tutor before coming to Tutor Shack, we had a great experience of using Declan and earning a perfect score of an 800 in Math and then using Mike T. and earning a 750 in Verbal for a superstore of 1550! Mike T. really helped by teaching SAT strategies and tricks to earn a top score. We couldn't have had a better experience anywhere else at such an affordable price, with one on one zooms for verbal and in person for math. This place is amazing, and we are so glad our college consultant had recommended it to us!!!

Our experience working with Mike to brainstorm and design our home renovation could not have been better. We felt like true collaborators in the process together, and he helped guide us to a design that solved for everything we wanted to get out of the house. Without going beyond our existing footprint, he figured out a way to expand upward, giving us a full primary suite with smart storage solutions that still fits the character of the house and of course falls within building code restrictions. He even helped us navigate the Historic Preservation Committee approval process and advised us on selecting a contractor. We are thrilled with the results!

As a middle-aged man with long grey / salt & pepper hair, I looked for quite a while for a place that has expertise in the more popular long hair styles and grey blending coloring. The recommendations and writeups I researched online pointed me to Gumdrop. I was not disappointed. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Alana who colored and cut my hair was just amazing. She knows more about hair health, styling, coloring, maintenance, and products than anyone I've ever met and her advice and guidance throughout the process was spot on. Very pleased with the outcome. They cost was what I expected and you get what you pay for and the value is clearly there. Highly recommend them.
I can’t recommend Amanda highly enough! If you are looking to go short and platinum, she is your stylist. And the Aveda products are gentle on your hair while maintaining color.
This is long overdo… my new go-to salon. Obviously a hidden gem. I got a beautiful cut. I also had my hair done here the day before for a wedding. I had wanted to do both in the same day but booked myself way too late and only had time for a quick up-do before I ran out the door. The woman who did my hair knew I was running super late and literally just said just pay tomorrow when you come back and we’ll cut your hair then. Who does that?! This is why local businesses are amazing. Anyway my hair looked great that night and the long cut I got has lasted months and months and has grown out beautifully. I’m hoping they are open this weekend so I can go back. Thanks guys!

I’ve hopped from multiple barbers across the states trying to find the right one who would ACTUALLY listen. Followed my barber James from Fishkill NY to Well Founded in Montclair NJ just goes to show that he is worth driving a little over an hour to look good. Well at least my hair looks good. As for the shop small little shop 4 guys and they have a great work environment and camaraderie. It was my first time to the location. If you need a barber check them out

I heard about this nail salon through some friends, so decided to check it out. The salon is very clean and welcoming. I decided to get a french gel mani from Jessie, which turned out perfectly. She takes her time and really cares about making her clients happy. The pedi was very relaxing and I definitely recommend adding that to your service, if you plan on coming here.

I've been coming to Pinky Nails for 15 years and there's no other salon in Montclair that comes close to the unique experience Jessica and her staff provides. The salon is beautiful, clean and comfortable with such a variety of manicure/pedicure options. But what really sets Pinky Nails apart is the personable experience I receive consistently every time Im there. Everyone there is hardworking, friendly and there is a warmth and coziness you just don't find anywhere else these days. I have been bringing my daughters here since they were 2 years old and it has become such a family experience, even my hubby enjoys coming too! I really like my experience here everybody was so nice i came in for a glaze and she literally gave me what i asked for the only thing that inconvenience me was that i asked if she could put curly hair products in so it could air dry and after she didn’t dry it i didn’t mind because it was hot out but i did put my sweater on because i hate wet hair on my back i had been so used to my hair not bleeding out that i forgot when its wet it bleeds out and it stained my hoodie it’s unfortunate because i did spend more than $100 dollars plus the tip

I recently went to 212 Salon and Day Spa for the first time to get a hair straightening treatment and was very happy with the outcome. Not only was everyone super friendly and made me feel very comfortable, the treatment experience was very relaxing. Mo (Mohammed) went above and beyond with the hair application, he was very precise and meticulous - I was very impressed with him! And what Super friendly down to earth guy! I do plan to return.

I got everything you can think of done for my birthday and I swear I never looked or felt prettier than this day! The service was professional but still very friendly. I laughed, smiled and even sang with my stylist. Got my hair washed and blown out, eyebrows shaped tinted and waxed, lashes and makeup done all in one day, got to dinner 30 minutes early and everything lasted many hours, many drinks, and many meals! Will definitely be coming back and always will recommend this salon to everyone!

I visited Jeeyune Nails & Spa a few days ago, and I am beyond impressed. The owner is incredibly personable, skilled, and attentive, you can feel her pride in the quality of service the moment you walk in. I had my face waxed perfectly, my Gel‑X extensions beautifully done, and a French manicure and pedicure that came out flawless.
Her team is just as amazing. Rosa did my French pedicure with such precision and care, and Mortree did my Gel‑X extensions at the same time, both were professional, gentle, and extremely talented. The coordination and teamwork were outstanding, and the results were gorgeous.

My experience with Painted Soul Arts was five stars from start to finish--maybe even six stars, if breaking the star barrier is allowed! As a fan of fine line black and grey tattoos, I was not so sure that I would be able to find an artist who aligned with my aesthetic without venturing into NYC. Fortunately, an online search took me to the Painted Soul website and the work of Emrah Ozhan. Although his art speaks for itself, let me say it anyway: Emrah's tattoos are astonishingly good. Almost as satisfying as the finished tattoo itself, was the process of collaboratively improving upon, and refining, my initial idea with Emrah. Overall, I had a really great experience. At the outset, I got good vibes from my initial phone calls with Ebony and Danielle, who helped orchestrate the logistics of the project, and I felt even better by the time the final line was etched by Emrah.
I ended up at Powerhouse kind of on a whim with a very vague idea of what I wanted for my tattoo. After showing the artist, Nico, a reference photo, he came up with a design that completely topped anything I could’ve conceived! Not only did the tattoo turn out AMAZING, but everyone in the shop is so kind and personable. This was the best tattoo experience I’ve ever had, and this tattoo ended up being my favorite tattoo I’ve gotten. I cannot wait to book my next appointment.
Branden is an absolute pleasure to work with. Neat, on time and reasonable. He has unclogged several drains and toilets for us and there has never been an issue afterwards. He’s always our first call if there’s a plumbing issue!

I am very happy I had my house tested and went ahead and put insulation as needed by the report. Also, did some additional work in the basement as recommended . It is the start of summer and I feel immediate results. The whole third floor of my house does not greet me with that wall of oppressive heat ,at all. A room off the side of my house which has 14 floor to ceiling windows is now comfortable, instead of uncomfortably hot. The service was timely and the workers were thorough and polite. I appreciated all of that. Their dovetailing with PSEG took a lot of stress out of the paperwork process. I would recommend this service.
We hired Gikas to replace our roof and paint the exterior of our house. Due to weather and other complications, the job ran much longer than expected. Alex came on board as our supervisor and helped get the project over the finish line. He was professional, highly responsive and a pleasure to work with. If you have Alex as your supervisor, you are in great hands!
UPDATE (Jan 2026): When we started to experience a leak around a vent stack on our roof, we called Gikas to come inspect the problem area as the work was still under warranty. Soon I was in touch with Ilkan who assured me the problem would be taken care of ASAP. Sure enough, as soon as the weather permitted, he had a crew onsite to address the leak. We are grateful for Ilkan’s and Gikas’s quick response even though it had been 5 years since the roofing job was originally completed.

Frankly, I'm shocked by some of the other reviews here. It's like we're talking about 2 different guys. We hired nick to lay down a patio with walkways, clear some areas, install drainage, and do some minor planting. My experience was stellar. Nick gave me a price that was far better than any of 6 or 7 other landscapers I consulted, he got the job done in a very short time and before a critical deadline, he always responded to my text messages and calls, he was knowledgeable about town ordinances and permitting requirements as well as the various planting we requested, the quality of his work was excellent, and he corrected every little nit that I raised without objection. Plus, he's an awfully nice guy. I'm giving him a big thumbs up; I was very happy.
From start to finish Chris and his team did a fantastic job landscaping our front yard & back yard. Chris was responsive, creative and provided outstanding customer service. Chris and his crew showed up on time and made sure everything was exactly to our liking. The entire process was smooth and stress-free.

I actually had a tree removed last year but forgot to post a review. John and his team were absolute professionals. Before they started, they covered my driveway with heavy wooden sheets to avoid damage from the crane. They made the tree removal look effortless despite the limited space to maneuver and the proximity to power lines. Zero damage to the surrounding trees and, afterwards, you couldn’t even tell there was a tree there or that any work had been done. Absolutely fantastic service at a reasonable cost!
We had an excellent experience using their services approx 4 weeks ago for the removal of two slim trees and for cutting back a massive Norwegian Maple in our backyard.Communication with Rich (owner) was very good from our initial inquiry through the completion of the services - very responsive in a timely fashion and very informative. Two days before the scheduled services we had a change of heart about the extent of services discussed, which Rich handled with flexibility, accommodating the changes, despite the short notice.The morning of the service, Rich as well as the work crew, and the equipment arrived and started on time. The work area as well as our neighbor’s driveway, which had to be used for the trucks, was thoroughly cleaned up at the end of the job. All staff memberswere polite and professional.

Did I have a root canal? Yes I did. Did not feel like it. Painless, efficient and quick. Dr. Danny was absolutely amazing! His dental assistant Brie was very compassionate and supportive during the entire process. I had root canal work done elsewhere in the past and it was always painful. Montclair Dental Spa truly has the most expert staff. Knowledgeable, intuitive and professional. Clean, attractive atmosphere with very welcoming front desk staff. The only place to go for dental care. Great dental practice!

I will forever be eternally grateful to Dr. Gary Eshanov and his staff. I have had years of built-up back, neck and hip pain due to my many years of working as a Nurse Assistant and also from my Desk job. What has taken years of to built up pain, Dr. Gary was able to alleviate and make me feel like a young kid again with just a few visits! However, pls keep in mind that consistent visits are key! Thanks to all his knowledge, new state of the art technology and what can only be described as magic hands. I can honestly attest to how great Dr. Gary is. Lets just put it this way, he is about 45 mins - to 1 hr away from me and I make sure to make the trip because the man is that good! . He is conveniently located in downtown Montclair. My best friend and I go to the Sunday 9am class with Grace every week and we love it. Grace is honestly such a great instructor. Her classes are super welcoming, encouraging, and still challenging in a good way.
I also really like how inclusive the environment feels. Sometimes there are professional yoga teachers taking class too, which is honestly really inspiring, but Grace still makes sure everyone feels comfortable no matter their experience level.
She walks around a lot during class giving individual compliments, adjustments, and suggestions, which makes the class feel really personal and supportive. I also appreciate that there’s zero pressure, if the room gets too hot, you’re allowed to lay down and listen to your body.
Also shoutout to the lady at the front desk (I forgot her name 😭) because she’s SO nice and welcoming. Such a social butterfly and always makes the studio feel friendly the second you walk in.
Bathrooms are always clean, the vibe is great, and everyone there is cool. Definitely recommend.

Aubrey was amazing during the mommy and me class that I brought my 6 year old to. She engaged with my daughter while making sure she gave me a class that fit my challenge level. She had fun props that kept my daughter engaged throughout and made us both feel included throughout. She is wonderful and I’d come back for more classes with my kids! In a beautiful studio in downtown Montclair there is a massage therapist named Stepan that tends to your body with intuitive intelligence. He understand how joints and muscles work and provides relief from aches and inflammation. Stepan's massage also helped me release pent up stress. I left his table feeling 10 years younger and 10 lbs lighter. In short - this is the best massage I've ever had.
Best massage therapist. This woman is gifted, warm, welcoming, and extremely knowledgeable. I was so relaxed in her care and she used the perfect amount of pressure since my body is sensitive to intense pressure. I left feeling like a whole new person. I plan to schedule her again in a few weeks. I trust her with being a part of my self-care and recovery regimen.
After a muscular injury to my lower back, I was referred to Bianca. After one session, the tightness and spasms calmed down. Very impressed with her skills and professionalism. I will continue to see her!

Great shop! I have had multiple readings with Yasmine and she is absolutely amazing!! I always feel like I have a much better sense of direction in life when I get readings from her. It’s not always what I want to hear, but what I truly NEED to hear at that time and I really appreciate that. She has said things that are so spot on but that I have no idea how else she can know it, I have gotten chills! She must be very connected to spirit!! I’d give more stars if I could :)

The best kept secret at ME, Clifton is Claudine. I went into the massage with zero expectations and literally told her to just do her thing. I left my appointment completely blown away.
I have anxiety and ADHD, so my mind is usually always on and it’s hard for me to truly relax or shut my brain off. That was not the case with Claudine. I felt a level of calm I don’t often experience. I was fully relaxed and even fell asleep a couple of times, which honestly shocked me when I woke up.
At first, I thought the pressure was a little too light, but as the massage went on she gradually increased it, mixing different techniques and really focusing on areas with tension. I didn’t even realize I had knots in my back until she worked through them.
I’ve been a member for about a year and haven’t gone to the same massage therapist twice, Claudine was my first therapist at this location. I can’t say that if I come back to Clifton (Rutherford is my home location) that I wouldn’t check Claudine’s availability first. She is that good.
Rebekah Frome has been incredibly helpful for alignment issues and shoulder pain. Not only is she kind and compassionate, but she is also so knowledgeable about the body and brings so much experience in rolfing and physical therapy. I leave her sessions feeling like my body is so much more open and aligned and at ease. I recommend her highly!
The experience is helpful to my healing , although I’m on a fixed income and this summer I’m not
working so it’s hard to have $90. a week during these summer months
