“A little over a year ago I re-tore my right ACL (3rd time’s a charm) and had a bucket handle tear on my medial meniscus that caused my knee to be stuck into a flexed position and made walking difficult. Due to the complexity of the situation, I had to have two separate surgeries 6 months apart from each other. One to stitch the meniscus back in place and to remove the old ACL graft, and the other to place the new ACL using my quad tendon, as well as fixing a slight tear in the same meniscus again.<br>It has now been six months post-op from the second surgery, and the results that I have gotten since training with Jack at ASP have been amazing. Jack’s programming design is so personalized, that he was able to create a program for me when I was non-weightbearing for 11 weeks. He incorporated exercises that replicated what would be done in PT, yet 1000x better. I was getting full body workouts that accommodated my non-weightbearing issue at the time, and was still able to get my lower body engaged and working with isometric exercises for my glutes and legs. When I went back in to see my surgeon for my 3 month check-up, he was shocked at how fast I was recovering and said that I was way ahead of any other patient he had seen in the past during the recovery period.<br>Another plus that I got from Jack’s training program was that he also uncovered a lot of other issues I was experiencing that I had not realized were part of a bigger issue and was (unknowingly on my part) affecting my day to day life: poor posture causing neck/upper back pain and spasms, low back pain that would cause me to have to take a break from standing because of how weak I was, and even how the phases in my menstrual cycle played a part in my physical well-being and mental health.<br>Now that I am sitting at six months post-op and only four and a half months back to weight bearing, I am back to running again, cleared to do plyometric work, cleared to go back to simple soccer drills on the field, and can even partake in agility cone drills with little to no knee pain. Overall, I feel so much stronger and feel a lot more confident going back to the field when that time comes. Plus, my back pain is pretty much non-existent and I can stand for hours on end with no issue or spasms. He had to point that out to me because I honestly forgot about the pain!<br>I can’t thank Jack enough for how much he has helped me through a time that was mentally and physically exhausting. It seriously has been life changing. If you are still on the fence about joining ASP, I would highly recommend just taking the leap and trying it out for yourself. If it was not for Jack and his expertise, I do not think I would be where I am right now if I was strictly just doing Physical Therapy. Looking forward to seeing how much further I can progress, thanks Jack!”
