“My wife and I have been training weekly with Brandon Tran at Custom Fit in Hayes Valley for nearly two years. We initially sought out his expertise following an accident that required reconstructive surgery on my knee. I had such a great experience with Brett Lando at Custom fit that after physical therapy, we decided to pursue couples personal training at Custom Fit.

Prior to starting with Brandon, we were complete neophytes at the gym -- neither of us had stepped foot in one since high school. Our main goals were to generally increase our fitness levels and build strength as we enter middle age.

Brandon has been a fantastic partner and has supported us immensely in this journey. He has created tailored routines that have helped me continue to pursue my goals, even after my surgery, and helped us both significantly increase our strength and overall fitness. Neither my wife nor I ever thought we would be interested in going to the gym or hiring personal trainers, but we are extremely happy with Brandon and would recommend him to anybody.

We also appreciate the atmosphere at Custom Fit. The gym serves a large variety of clients, from serious powerlifters to older individuals who are maintaining their fitness and everybody in between, making it a comfortable and welcoming environment for all fitness levels.“

“I found Flagship when I was recovering from an injury and interested in giving CrossFit workouts a try, and the coaches here are amazing! Nikki, Anais, and Liz do a great job of introducing each exercise, and it feels like there's a good amount of personal attention even when the classes are larger. The coaches make sure you feel comfortable with the movements and have the proper form, and help adjust workouts for any injuries. The equipment is really nice and the gym is spacious, so I enjoy coming here to exercise. I like that the workouts are published in advance so I know what I'm getting into, and I also really appreciate that they have multiple membership options, all transparently priced on their website. Joining Flagship was an excellent decision, and I'm looking forward to continuing my fitness journey with them!“

“I first recommended to ASP from a teammates parent when my older daughter Nelly tore her ACL in high school. I was so pleased to to see the care and patience they had for her in her recovery and helped her back to return for her senior year. Excellent staff and a very knowledgeable team that developed a perfect program for her needs. It eventually lead her to major in Kinesiology in college and currently is wrapping up her masters. I was so pleased with their professionalism that we enrolled our youngest , currently in 8th grade, in a program for her strength and conditioning. They were able to detect a possible injury waiting to happen as my daughter tended to walk inward which could’ve lead to a knee injury. I’m glad to say they fixed the problem with a great program. She’s been there for almost 2 years and had comments from several coaches on how strong and fit she has become ( not so lucky for those who play against her lol). If you are looking for overall conditioning orRecovery, this is the place to be. It also prepared my daughter , not only for the physical part, but the mental. She built her strong mentality that ultimately got her accepted to her future high school SHC ! ASP is perfect for the mind and body!!Thank you Jack, Jared and Hannah at ASP!!!“

“I recently had the pleasure of working with Marty, and I can’t recommend him highly enough. I came to him with two main goals: addressing some knee pain and improving my dance performance with a more well-rounded approach to strength and mobility.

From day one, Marty’s depth of knowledge and passion for movement stood out. He has a strong background in kettlebells, but he doesn’t limit himself there. He brings an interdisciplinary lens, always connecting the dots between strength, mobility, longevity, and real-world performance. He’s rigorous and detail-oriented, with an incredible eye for form. Instead of just running me through sets, he made sure I understood the “why” behind everything we were doing.

He very quickly identified the root cause of my knee pain, and gave me precise exercises to fix it. Within weeks, I felt a real difference.

Beyond rehab, he looked at my dance training and lifestyle, and challenged me to think about what my “missing link” was to not only take my physical base to the next level, but also set myself up for longevity. He’s savvy about how to personalize training to your unique situation - not just in movements but also how you incorporate training into your lifestyle.

Each session was essentially a mix of training and hands-on education. I didn’t just get stronger from working with Marty, he taught me how to think critically about my movement, my longevity, and my potential. He’s essentially a fountain of knowledge (he’s got a LOT of passion, and you can tell he does a vast amount of self-study because he loves it!), and his eye for detail and corrections are on a class of its own.

He’s tough and rigorous in all the ways you want a coach to be, and if you truly dedicate yourself to the work and to being the best student possible, results are sure to come.

“I found the firm from a friends recommendation to see Chris after dealing with some low back challenges that kept creeping up when I would incorrectly train. The Firm offers private group training, so a 3:1 ratio of people to trainer. I found it a great way to get personalized help without paying private training rates. Highly recommend Chris or Gary, they both are very kind/professional/taught me a lot on form. JJ the owner is also very nice and was almost always there when I was in. The community is nice and felt very comfortable/supportive and helped me stay consistent. The only con is the times to book were pretty competitive to sign up for especially for morning slots.“
