548 San Mateo Ave, San Bruno“I restarted training with Dojo USA just a year ago after a very long hiatus, and I have loved every minute of it. It has given me renewed energy, improved my fitness, and reignited my passion for Tae Bo and boxing, both of which are rooted in the principles and discipline of martial arts.
Our Senseis—Peter, Erma,June and Nanette have been incredible coaches. They push us hard, but always in a positive, encouraging, and motivating way. Their dedication inspires each of us to keep improving and become the best version of ourselves.
The camaraderie among everyone at the dojo is truly special. We support, encourage, and challenge one another every step of the way. Yes, we are athletes in every sense of the word, and training together has given me a tremendous advantage in my journey at the dojo.
I am grateful to be part of the Dojo USA family. It has become more than just a place to train—it is a community that motivates me to grow stronger, both physically and mentally. 💪❤“

1007 Terra Nova Blvd, Pacifica“I decided to check out Terra Nova Fitness for strength training. I'm starting to feel my age and know that I'm losing muscle. It was one of my best decisions.
Over the months I have felt stronger and have noticed my body changing. The best part is the training. There's always a coach watching the room. If I have questions or doing an exercise incorrectly, it is rectified quickly. Also, the encouragement is wonderful.
The studio isn't too large but it never feels crowded. Everyone has their own routines which changes every 4 weeks. I don't get bored and always feel that I am moving forward, getting stronger.
I'm happy I checked Terra Nova Fitness out and am extremely satisfied with the results.“

507 S B St, San Mateo“I started training at Morph Fitness in September 2025 after reaching out for a consultation. During the initial meeting, I completed an InBody scan and discussed my goals and past challenges with staying consistent.
Since beginning training three times a week with Dimiceus, I’ve seen steady progress and recently decided to continue my sessions. The workouts are structured and adjusted based on my needs, which has helped me stay consistent. I appreciate not having to plan my own programming — it makes it easier to fit exercise into a busy schedule.
The sessions also include mobility work, which has helped with recovery. Overall, training here has made it more manageable for me to maintain a regular routine.“

I love how inclusive it is - nobody hassles me, there are young and old, male and female, and lots of differing skill levels. It’s a refreshing change from some of the super specialized gyms, that can also often feel like a dating site. Thanks Castro Fitness. ❤“

930 Cole St, San Francisco“A little over a year ago I re-tore my right ACL (3rd time’s a charm) and had a bucket handle tear on my medial meniscus that caused my knee to be stuck into a flexed position and made walking difficult. Due to the complexity of the situation, I had to have two separate surgeries 6 months apart from each other. One to stitch the meniscus back in place and to remove the old ACL graft, and the other to place the new ACL using my quad tendon, as well as fixing a slight tear in the same meniscus again.
It has now been six months post-op from the second surgery, and the results that I have gotten since training with Jack at ASP have been amazing. Jack’s programming design is so personalized, that he was able to create a program for me when I was non-weightbearing for 11 weeks. He incorporated exercises that replicated what would be done in PT, yet 1000x better. I was getting full body workouts that accommodated my non-weightbearing issue at the time, and was still able to get my lower body engaged and working with isometric exercises for my glutes and legs. When I went back in to see my surgeon for my 3 month check-up, he was shocked at how fast I was recovering and said that I was way ahead of any other patient he had seen in the past during the recovery period.
Another plus that I got from Jack’s training program was that he also uncovered a lot of other issues I was experiencing that I had not realized were part of a bigger issue and was (unknowingly on my part) affecting my day to day life: poor posture causing neck/upper back pain and spasms, low back pain that would cause me to have to take a break from standing because of how weak I was, and even how the phases in my menstrual cycle played a part in my physical well-being and mental health.
Now that I am sitting at six months post-op and only four and a half months back to weight bearing, I am back to running again, cleared to do plyometric work, cleared to go back to simple soccer drills on the field, and can even partake in agility cone drills with little to no knee pain. Overall, I feel so much stronger and feel a lot more confident going back to the field when that time comes. Plus, my back pain is pretty much non-existent and I can stand for hours on end with no issue or spasms. He had to point that out to me because I honestly forgot about the pain!
I can’t thank Jack enough for how much he has helped me through a time that was mentally and physically exhausting. It seriously has been life changing. If you are still on the fence about joining ASP, I would highly recommend just taking the leap and trying it out for yourself. If it was not for Jack and his expertise, I do not think I would be where I am right now if I was strictly just doing Physical Therapy. Looking forward to seeing how much further I can progress, thanks Jack!“
“I am not a fan of working out and have a history of starting then stopping exercising. If the gym or exercise class is too far or requires me to get in my car to drive there, I always end up making an excuse. I've only ever been consistent when I hired a personal trainer to come to my door to work out. When my trainer moved onto another career gig, I never bothered to look for a replacement. I relayed this information when I first met Shannon, the owner of Gym Class. A friend had told me about it a while back and I had reached a point where I knew I needed to start exercising. My only goal when I started was to create a routine where I would consistently show up. With Shannon's support, I not only showed up every morning for the 7am workout, but I definitely got stronger. Shannon and Gen (another coach) are really good at gently pushing you, helping to make modifications, and keep you entertained while you're getting through your workout. They are also excellent at taking feedback or trying new things which you can really only do in a small gym setting.
Lastly, the thing I wasn't expecting at all was to meet some kick ass women in the gym class community who are also encouraging me to show up and reach my own goals. I literally came for the small group workout and have found a wonderful little network of women as an added bonus.“

2301 Carlmont Dr, Belmont“Training with kip has been transformative for me and my overall health. I lost 10 pounds in the first few months of working out with him and appreciated his extensive knowledge of exercise routines, tailoring of the program for my specific fitness goals, and awareness of how to push me without overdoing it especially given some old injuries I had. Best of all, he travels to my house and brings equipment which really removes any excuses and helps me stay consistent. Strongly recommend!“

143 South Blvd, San Mateo“I’ve been coming to The Fitness Farm for a couple of years now and really like it more than any other gym I’ve been to. The facilities are great — really nice flow of both indoor and outdoor space to work out, great selection of machines and weights, and a variety of other equipment and floor space for dynamic/functional exercises to do if machines aren’t your go-to. There’s really something for everyone here!
Also, Dr. Kelly has been my coach for a few years now. I can say with certainty that he’s very knowledgeable, receptive to all the changes I’ve needed in my workouts over time, and is always responsive and supportive. The whole community here is friendly, respectful, and encouraging. I’ve always enjoyed coming here when I can get a workout in, and have really missed it when life gets in the way. Would highly recommend The Fitness Farm!!“

1649 Valencia St, San Francisco“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I can honestly say my experience at CrossFit Fog City was excellent. I was only in San Francisco for about a month and needed a gym, so I signed up for a temporary one-month membership and I couldn’t be more satisfied.
The gym is massive and has just about every piece of equipment you could ask for. The coaching staff was awesome great programming, fun classes, and a really positive atmosphere. Gordon, the owner, was extremely responsive and welcoming, which made the experience even better.
Whether you’re in town temporarily or looking for a long-term fitness home, I highly recommend checking out CrossFit Fog City. The space and community are amazing!“

Each of them consistently goes above and beyond to create a culture that is professional, welcoming, and fun. The space is always clean. The equipment is always maintained. The coaches know their stuff. Great layout and full range of equipment.
I often travel for work and have visited other AF locations both in and out of the US. This little gem in Pacifica is a standout.“
“I had the pleasure of working with an incredible personal trainer, Tayo, for almost two years, and he helped me get in the best shape and version of myself for my wedding. I had gained weight during covid in 2020 and he helped me lose the weight, gain muscle, confidence, feel the best version of myself and getting in the best shape of my life. Tayo was very committed to my success. Tayo's passion for his work was evident in every session we had together. He wasn't just a trainer, he was a motivator, a mentor, and a genuine cheerleader throughout my fitness journey. Has positive energy encouragement pushed me beyond my limits, and I found myself achieving milestones. What sets Tayo apart is his genuine care for his clients. He wasn't just interested in the numbers on the scale, but he actually cared about my overall well-being and confidence. His attention to detail and ability to tailor workouts to my strengths and weaknesses made each session challenging yet incredibly rewarding. I love the feeling I get after I have a good workout with Tayo. All the trainers and staff at fitSF are incredible and know what they are doing. You can tell by seeing how happy their clients are at the gym. My wedding day wouldn't have been the same without training at FitSF studio for the big day and I'm forever grateful for the positive impact Tayo and FitSF studio had on my life. They are truly amazing people. I'm no longer working out but I miss seeing Tayo, John and some of their regular clients and trainers there!“

673 Grand View Ave, San Francisco“Marty brings a truly thoughtful and highly personalized approach to training. He has a very unique teaching style. He progressively layers skills and provides memorable cues that tend to click at exactly the right moment during practice, making complex movements much easier to understand and perform correctly.
His process begins with a comprehensive movement quality assessment, identifying muscular imbalances that many people are unaware of. Rather than immediately adding load or jumping into exercises, Marty focuses on understanding how the body moves and provides targeted corrective strategies to address those imbalances first. This strong foundation makes the training both safer and significantly more effective.
Another standout aspect of Marty’s coaching is the emphasis on breathing mechanics, an area that is often overlooked in fitness. Marty is a huge advocate of proper breathing and treats it as a fundamental skill that directly impacts stability, strength, and overall performance.
Programs are designed specifically for each individual based on their unique imbalances and movement patterns. Marty introduced the addition of mace swinging alongside kettlebell training, which has been a fantastic addition and has unlocked a new and surprisingly fun way to build core strength and total-body stability.
Another valuable aspect of working with Marty is the guidance he provides on choosing the right equipment. He puts a lot of emphasis on helping clients select the appropriate tools and explains clearly how and when different exercises should be used to get the most benefit.
Beyond movement and strength training, Marty also provides guidance on simple, nutrient-dense nutrition strategies designed to support fat loss while preserving muscle. The approach is flexible and tailored to the individual, whether someone follows a carnivore, omnivore, vegetarian, or vegan diet.
Overall, Marty’s coaching philosophy centers on individualized programming, movement quality, breathing, and sustainable health making it an intelligent and highly effective approach to fitness.“

225 Frederick St, San Francisco“I found the firm from a friends recommendation to see Chris after dealing with some low back challenges that kept creeping up when I would incorrectly train. The Firm offers private group training, so a 3:1 ratio of people to trainer. I found it a great way to get personalized help without paying private training rates. Highly recommend Chris or Gary, they both are very kind/professional/taught me a lot on form. JJ the owner is also very nice and was almost always there when I was in. The community is nice and felt very comfortable/supportive and helped me stay consistent. The only con is the times to book were pretty competitive to sign up for especially for morning slots.“

70 Elk St, San Francisco“This review is overdue, but I wanted to share my positive experience working with Jeffrey for in-home strength training. He helped me to get into a manageable routine with strength training, focusing on my form, regular customized strength training workouts, and adjustments over time to respond to my needs. He also helped me build out my home workout equipment and gave me honest feedback about what was most important for me and my goals.
I do feel like I've gained strength and self-discipline, which helps me in my daily life with my posture and how I feel physically. I came into strength training with very little experience, and Jeffrey gave me the tools to feel confident with my new routine and my own ability to build on it over time.“
“The owner is amazing, positive and for healthy living. They're always nice when I come!“

The front desk staff are always fantastic — the manager Charles is consistently personable and kind, and super attentive to making sure members are happy and that the gym stays clean with all equipment in working order. Brandon was also super helpful when I needed to make adjustments to my membership. Highly recommend!“
