I never thought I would be a cat person or own a cat until I visited here. It took one visit for me to absolutely fall in love with my kitty and know I needed to adopt him. The amazing workers here are passionate about what they do and answered my million questions about my kitty and helped calm my anxiety on doing anything wrong. Of course temperament, personality, and history will impact how an animal is, but my Luke came home loving everyone and desensitized to touch including on his paws and belly. The adoption process was smooth and included checking out my kitty with their vet where I got to ask even more questions and leave feeling well prepared. I appreciate how listened I felt and how I never felt rushed or that I was being annoying for all of my questions. Great place to adopt a cat and i’m sure they do an amazing job at all of their other services too ♥️

Dennis was ABSOLUTELY incredible. We had a power outlet in our backyard that was not working and another electrician had come by and quoted us thousands of dollars to get it back working. Dennis came and was extremely friendly and knowledgeable - he found out that the outlet was actually connected to our pool panel and he just had to reset a few things on the breaker to get it back working. Instantly fixed the problem! We will definitely use him again for any of our future electrical needs and highly recommend him.
Called in and asked if they take walk in appointments, and the lady on the phone told me to come on down. I have let my hair grow out for quite a while and came in with an old image of myself as a benchmark for the haircut I would like. Lily did an amazing job from pretty much nailing the haircut I wanted to also being friendly and personable while cutting my hair. I will definitely be back
Lisa is amazing!! She cares so much about her clients and is very friendly. I felt so comfortable being in her studio, not only because she's very welcoming but because she makes the space so comforting. During my waxing I was very nervous and tired from school, so she put on calming music, dim lights, and a little fan! She's so gentle too. I swear the pain level I had from other waxers went down by 70% with Lisa. Love her!!! God bless that woman
FINALLY!!! I found a stylist who actually knows how to cut my hair! Jerry first worked his magic on my curly hair during my second year at UC Davis. He not only cut my hair to become more manageable and cut it properly for my kind of hair, but he educated me on what routines and hairstyles were damaging my hair and provided me with hair products that brought my curls to LIFE! Through hair masks, more nourishing shampoos, and conditioners he left me loving my curly hair like ever before. Now that Im graduating from college I am so grateful for the magic he was able to do with my crazy curly hair. Saying Jerry did amazing is an understatement, his beautiful work on my hair is what truly speaks well enough for itself. Thank you Jerry you really know how to treat your clients well. Abi is great! Abi is a hairstylist from Japan who speaks Japanese. Someone who is familiar with Japanese hair products and has extensive experience in the United States. Even if you have thick, bristle hair like me, you can leave it to us to create a beautiful finish. Kind, polite and reassuring.
McKenna cut my daughter's hair. McKenna was so sweet, listened to what I wanted, and did a great job.
Hannah is a MASTER. Fantastic color - so much so that other stylists regularly comment on it. She's quick, too, which is so, so helpful. Cut is great. Overall, a true gem. One star off only because she is booked so far out! Allow 4-6 weeks. Maybe she could mentor up an associate?

Took my son (3) in for his first haircut and it was just perfect. We barely had to wait, and our barber Max was a total pro. This is a lovely salon, head and shoulders above any other I have visited. The environment is lovely and inviting. It is kept scrupulously clean. All employees use free time to sweep, clean, or organize. I have never heard a raised voice here, and find my visits very relaxing. I highly recommend this salon!

Great first experience today for a pedicure. The husband took my appointment over the phone with 15min notice and did my nails. He was methodical and attentive, and did a great job with every step. Paid $40 cash (plus tip) for a gel pedicure with many of the luxury upgrades that I would expect from a more expensive “spa pedicure”: sugar scrub, hot stone massage etc. this will be my new pedicure spot in town!

By far the best salon I've been to!! I've been going to Vanessa for 10+ years. I won't let anyone else touch my hair. I can show her any picture and she knows exactly what will work best for me. Ive done blonde, brunette, purple, red, copper, and orange. I've had waist long hair, bangs and shoulder length hair. It's never been damaged with her guidance and recommendations. I've been on my curly hair journey recently which has been a learning process for me. Vanessa has given me curly hair products that have made a drastic improvement on the way my hair curls. This place is amazing. George, Drew, and Corey all do incredible work. They have so much experience in all styles: I've never seen artists so flexible and versatile! While they all have specialties, they also are willing to venture outside of them. They're super open to discussion, too. I've never felt like I can talk to an artist the way I can talk to them and collaborate on a piece I want. They do incredible work and are super sweet dudes! As a woman, I'm super comfortable with these guys and don't mind being alone in the shop with one of them. I've never felt creeped out by them. I've gotten work done all over the globe and this is my favorite shop I've been to. Love these dudes.

I worked with Super Brothers to replace and upgrade my HVAC system in my home. This is the second time I have worked with them on a home improvement project and they continue to provide excellent service and work to give me and my family a fair price on parts and services. The team got our project scheduled within a week of our initial estimate project. The technicians who completed the work were on time and worked quickly to get the job done so there was little to no inconvenience for my household. They made sure to protect the floors with floor coverings and wore shoe covers when necessary. The technicians were polite, professional, and answered any questions we had.
This was a two day project that included a two man team working to remove our old heating system from the attic in pieces due to small access point and the old air conditioning unit from our back yard. They also had to upgrade our electrical panel and add new switches to accommodate the voltage of the new HVAC units.
UNIT DETAILS: We chose the Bosch 3 Ton 19 SEER2 Variable Speed Heat Pump Unit. Our estimate for work included:
- Equipment delivery and Installation

Marty Morse and his colleagues at Morse Remodeling did a fantastic job for us when we remodeled of our house. We wanted to both redo our kitchen and to remodel the house to create spaces for the dining room table and grand piano. Even though there had been enough overall area in our house for this furniture, the space was chopped up in ways that prevented easy placement solutions. Meghan was incredibly helpful and creative in designing the space to accommodate what we wanted, especially given the constraints. She listened to our concerns and wants and came up with solutions to the problems, while also making suggestions which enhanced the space in other ways. We were on sabbatical leave while the physical work of the remodel happened, and Meghan, Kevin, and Matt all kept us up to date on changes and decisions that needed to be made. Matt was the onsite guy, overseeing the overall job and doing the carpentry. He not only created a beautiful and useful finished space but listened to any concerns we had. We couldn’t be happier that we hired this group of people for our job. One more, not unimportant, comment, they finished the job on time!

We needed some major renovation work involving the conversion of a outdoor sun room into enclosed living space, and we knew it would be a complicated project so we hired a local building designer well-versed in Davis codes. With the plans and city approval in hand we started approaching the big-name local construction firms and were immediately met with resistance, as all insisted we shelve our design plans ($$!!!!) and use their own designers. They wanted to control all aspects of the construction, including the design, and although I respect that, I was not about to throw away $6,000 and an approved city permit. I contacted Mike Pesola, the owner of Bedrock Construction after doing some background checks, and he called back within a day. All I can say is I found Mike Pesola a true professional who was interested in how we wanted the project done, and was a project leader who made it happen. He took the plans and studied them and came to me within a week with an estimate that was within $5,000 of my own estimate of what the job should cost. We did it in two phases, starting in the fall, and then restarted again in April. Any costs outside of the contractual plan was clearly allocated, usually because we as owners decided to upgrade certain fixtures, but in all cases there were no surprises and the project moved forward on schedule and on budget. As a former contract administrator, I can tell you this requires both parties to pay attention to the details and keep both sides informed, which is exactly what happened. His crews were polite, cleaned up after the days work, and arrived when they said they were coming. When there were issues, and in construction projects there always are, Mike was there and things were ironed out seamlessly. Because of Covid 19 concerns, we delayed the planned 2nd phase by almost a month, and Mike worked with us in rescheduling his crews. Mike's father was a building contractor in NYC, and it was obvious Mike learned the business the right way. We are extremely pleased with the results and recommend Bedrock without any hesitation. It is a family business and run the way I would run my own business. Bottom line, project was delivered on time, on budget, with excellent results with no issues with the city or our neighbors! Thumbs up, Mike! Fine work!
MAK recently completed a second remodel on our home. The first, 15 years ago, has aged well, and their work made our home a much pleasanter place for our young family. Their work on the first go-around was so excellent, that when we started thinking about aging-in-place home modifications, we returned to MAK.
The recently finished remodel was extensive, and touched nearly every part of the house that was not modified in the previous remodel.
The design team helped us focus our planning and make specific choices. They did a wonderful job of asking us about our preferences, offering us a manageable range of design suggestions and helping us talk through our decisions, to make sure we ended up with a final product we liked. Thanks Ilse and Madelyn!
Our construction project manager, Carlos, was always available to us. We met once a week about project updates, questions and concerns. Carlos took care of interfacing with the sub-contractors. We always knew who would be in our house and when to expect them. He did a great job coordinating tasks around our life and schedule when he could, mitigating the disturbance the rest of the time, and making sure everything was cleaned up at the end of each day.
The sub-contractors were all craftspeople who worked to produce an excellent product. Steven, from JRB Drywall, filled a long crack in our dining room ceiling and took extra pains to be sure everything blended perfectly. Francisco, from Genoa Soapstone, came in late Friday afternoon to make a last minute cut the kitchen counter so our new cooktop would fit the space and was successfully installed before the weekend.
The tile installers were meticulous - thank you to Ulices at Top Notch Tile. Todd, from Country Bear Electric, saved us time and money when he found a way to run wires that reduced the amount of walls that needed to be opened. Arden Cabinets built and installed the wonderful bathroom vanity with rollout drawers so we can make use of the whole depth of the cabinet space.
I could go on. MAK did a wonderful job. We will use them again if we find we want additional work in the future. If you are considering a major remodel, do yourself and favor and meet with them.

About two years back, I moved to the bay area, just still make the hour and a half drive to see Dr. Pisciotta for all my dental needs. I cannot recommend him highly enough. Dr. Cloyd is, simply put, amazing! He is skilled, professional, friendly, and kind. I first went to him about nine years ago on the recommendation of a colleague. My lower back had suddenly ‘gone out,’ and I could barely get out of bed or climb stairs. As a physician, I knew that allopathic medicine would offer limited options. As an alternative, I turned to chiropractic care—and I was incredibly fortunate to receive treatment from Dr. Cloyd.
From the first visit, he tuned in to both my pain and my apprehension. His vast experience was evident as he diagnosed my problem (intervertebral disc displacement and rib cage dysfunction) and began treatment very conservatively. He was reassuring and gentle, and he clearly explained every step before he proceeded. I had significant relief after my first visit and was back to normal within just a few sessions.
Over the years, he has helped me with various issues involving my shoulder, hip, and ankle. He has similarly helped my wife and adult son with occasional similar problems over the years. I cannot overstate my admiration for Dr. Cloyd and his clinical skills. I give him my highest endorsement.

Dr. Wilson is easy to talk to, very professional and efficient. I've been having residual lower back pain and he's been diligently helping me overcome it. I am not a fan of rough chiropractic methods, and this place is very mellow. The office is old school, but comfortable and I really enjoy seeing all the hummingbirds. All in all it's a good place and I will likely be back.

It was an great experience. He cared with helping and managing pain. Works with you beyond just the appointment but also teaches how to better manage your pain. Would recommend going.
i have had scoliosis since i was 12 and michelle is by far the best chiropractor I have ever had in my life. i’ve had a couple car accidents as well and her care has been indispensable for my wellness. 10 outta 10 i highly recommend!!!
Getting treated by Dr. Hartz is such a lovely experience. I love that he assess and performs body work before leading up to the adjustment. His office is relaxing and clean. I always leave in a good mood.

I never thought I would be a cat person or own a cat until I visited here. It took one visit for me to absolutely fall in love with my kitty and know I needed to adopt him. The amazing workers here are passionate about what they do and answered my million questions about my kitty and helped calm my anxiety on doing anything wrong. Of course temperament, personality, and history will impact how an animal is, but my Luke came home loving everyone and desensitized to touch including on his paws and belly. The adoption process was smooth and included checking out my kitty with their vet where I got to ask even more questions and leave feeling well prepared. I appreciate how listened I felt and how I never felt rushed or that I was being annoying for all of my questions. Great place to adopt a cat and i’m sure they do an amazing job at all of their other services too ♥️

The results of laser acupuncture, needle acupuncture, and chiropractic care are incredible! This is true for people and animals. Dr. Yamate and Dr. Stevens are fantastic. The staff at CIAM is knowledgeable and very kind. They truly care about your pet's well being and health.

Vets and technicians are friendly, professional and great with dogs including an intimidating German shepherd. Recently the visit was for a quality of life. Sadly it was time to say goodbye to our well loved old lab. They came to the house and with care and consideration aided us through the difficult time.
They were timely and flexible for pets emergency needs. And he's happy and healthy today.
Akasha is a truly special yoga studio. All the teachers are thoughtful, caring, and creative. Not only do I feel challenged by the classes but I always feel safe! I love love taking classes and find myself rejuvenated and restored after each one.
Hot Yoga Davis has greatly improved my health and well being. The heat greatly increases flexibility and the order of the postures build on one another to create a great 90 minute workout. Erin provides corrections without calling anyone out, but I know and appreciate when such suggestions are directed at me. Erin’s teaching of the class has advanced my yoga practice since taking my first class with her in 2022.
Excellent training at any level. Laura is exceptional at working with people to help them learn to build their strength, flexibility, coordination, and overall physical well-being. Classical Pilates teaches you a way to learn to listen to your body in terms of what you need and how to get there and Laura is a gifted teacher and guide.

Very good experience after my injury. Really helped get my knee back to feeling better after 3 years of little progress. Combined with physical therapy it made a huge difference. Would recommended to anyone looking for help with swelling and tightness.

Deep tissue massage with Kat highly recommended. Quiet studio with a sound table that pairs well with massage. Kat is quite a healer with a very firm touch that has helped to reduce my migraines and recover from sports injuries. Cool downtown location by coffee and tea shops that make my visits to Kat more like a spa day.

I came in with pain and left without pain. This guy knows his stuff. He has a unique massage style that I haven’t experienced before. I asked for deep tissue massage and it was deep tissue with different techniques. The atmosphere is really relaxing and the taste of music is definitely more modern than most massage places.
This massage practice is truly a safe place. Not only is Alyx a highly skilled and intuitive massage therapist (I feel physical relief and more space in my body after each appointment), but he has also created an inclusive and safe environment, especially for folks with disabilities or chronic illnesses, neurodivergent and queer people, and low income people.
I highly recommend coming to be treated by Alyx if you’ve been uncomfortable or nervous about massage in the past. He’s the best massage therapist I’ve ever had and is an important part of my support network as I work through a chronic illness and mental health challenges.
I had a great massage with Katie. She adapted to what I needed and left me completely relaxed. Since I'm not from Davis, it took longer than I expected to find the location, but I will gladly go back. I liked the peace and privacy of the location.

Always an excellent massage from Mayra. She is able to do a very deep therapeutic massage. I have seen her for massage for I think 7-8 years, maybe longer, and I have seen a lot of massage therapists over the years for comparison. She is so well loved by her clients that it’s tough to get an appointment with her. I drive an hour each way because it is so worth it.
The technicians at this shop are excellent—their pressure is strong yet never stiff. I felt incredibly relaxed and comfortable after the massage. The environment is also clean and tidy. Highly recommended!
