“This studio offers a lot of options for classes that fit individual needs. It’s not cheap and not close by to me, but I am still happy to go! I’ve been going to the prenatal yoga classes, which is a class rarely offered by yoga studios in the DC area. Friendly staff and professional instructors that make me feel safe and welcomed!!“

“I finally found my yoga home in DC! It took years of trying other studios here, but Epic is the most unique, supportive, welcoming space I've found here. The space itself is beautiful, but it's the teachers that really make it worthwhile. Amie's "peak pose" class is one of my favorites, it's a great class to deepen your practice and learn new poses. But seriously all of the teachers are great people and bring something unique to their classes.I'm also in their YTT program and highly recommend it to anyone thinking about doing it! They've really put so much thought and research into the coursework and materials. You learn so much about anatomical cueing and sequencing - more than many other programs, I think. I've learned so much from Emma and Amie (the lead teachers + studio owner and director), and feel like this program has really launched a new phase of my yoga journey.“

“i first met Ryan in 2008 when I joined a local Pilates studio after relocating from NJ. I have been training in Pilates since 1998 and Ryan is one of the top instructors i have worked with. He is really knowledgeable about the kinetics of our musculature and the impact on posture and function. His workouts are always a challenging mixture of strengthening, stretching and balance. I left DC in 2014 but try to train with him whenever I am in DC!“

“About eight years ago, I came to Pure Joe's after enjoying Pilates at another well-respected studio in town. The other studio warned me that I'd find Pure Joe too tough - too focused on footwork and form, too demanding. Well, if you're not doing Pilates right, you're not doing Pilates. And Pure Joe's instructors make sure you learn Pilates the right way. They are meticulous, while being supportive and encouraging. They may seem demanding, but that's because form is so critical to achieving the results Pilates has the potential to deliver. The instructors see the routines and habits on which your body relies to remain weak and help you fix those bad habits. I beg for that correction - the value added is in those corrections by the instructor. I can do Pilates on my own, but it's the expertise and experience of the instructors that makes Pilates really work for your body. And there's no better place than Pure Joe. I've tried other studios, other instructors, in DC and elsewhere. But Pure Joe's instructors are unparalleled in the quality of their instruction. My body has been transformed, my core completely strengthened. I even Outdid Pilates through two pregnancies, and the instructors modified the moves to make sure I remained fit and challenged but not cause any problem. Pure Joe is simply the best. Go!“

“Great hot pilates session. Great coach with great energy. Felt comfortable with and around Coach Jay. Enjoyed the humor. He's a beast! Grateful for the way he challenged us, but didn't pressure or try to force anyone to do specific exercises. I appreciated the ways he instructed us on proper form and repeated the guidance about caring for our spine. He was encouraging and commended us for sticking with it! Great coach.“

“I just came across this when booking my first class and went to book another session and these reviews are really confusing. I've been to about every Reformer studio in the city and this and the Shaw studio are the Best I've ever been to in DC and maybe ever. I agree with the last review. This studio has not requried masks since they were no longer mandated nor do they require vax cards. Maybe they saw someone in there with a mask which is that persons right but it's for sure not manditory. With all the other fitness studios out there, my first session there the instructor noticed every single one of my injuries and showed me what I should be doing and focusing on to help even myself out and improve my form. I think there might be a couple haters out here :) Life is full of them!“

“Solidcore is the best full body workout on the planet. Cannot recommend it highly enough. Working out just twice a week has changed my body, increasing my muscle tone and endurance. Nothing quite prepares you for it, but if you stick with it, the results are real.“

“Crystal City only has one location on the map for ClassPass, so I decided to give it a try. I had the pleasure of taking a class with the head coach, Nina. She was able to show me around and told me about the different resistance level springs. The full body session targeted the inner thighs and core. I didn't think I would sweat during class but I literally felt sweat dripping down my arms and my face. Pilates on the reformer with Nina will challenge you! You'll work out muscles you never thought ever existed until class. There are self-locking lockers and two gender neutral bathrooms. Both bathrooms have toiletries for your personal use -- tampons, hair ties, Bobby pins, hair spray, deodorant spray, etc. It can be on the more premium side in terms of price (drop in class is $40), but if you have classpass or a monthly membership, it's worth it if you want to commit to Pilates and a strong body! I recommend solidcore!“

“Just did my first class at solidcore with Christina K (who subbed another instructor) and I love it. I’ve been doing reformer Pilates for more than 16 years so this was an interesting modification of what I’m used to. The pace was slightly different and their unique reformer “sweatlana” was so diverse . Can’t wait to go back.“
