“I am so thankful for the BDx team for accommodating me during my short period visiting the area. Working with Rachel was amazing, I couldn’t have asked for a better trainer. I learnt so much. The atmosphere is positive and welcoming and I will miss the place and remember my time there fondly!“

“First time doing a float session. Lou was super professional and answered all the questions I could come up with. The float itself was nothing short of magical - I don't know that I've ever been able to get that much "out of my own head" as I did in that hour. Definitely recommend trying to anyone not medically contraindicated, and will be going back myself soon!“

“Franny is my savior. It goes without saying he is the best at what he does. I have been training for a few months now and my overall health has improved greatly. My doctors are pleased with my progress. I have 2 new hips and 1 new knee. Fran is invaluable in helping me get my legs back, building strength and regaining stability. Win The Day Training is a blessing and definitely life changing.“

“I have had a very positive experience with Marc and the Personal Training Alliance. I have never used a Personal Trainer before and what was nice about this service was that Marc comes out to your home and customizes a program for his clients. I have a long medical background that originated with a spinal cord injury to my neck at the age of 21, and have been dealing with Neurological issues for the past 45 years, and have a great deal of experience with Physical Therapists, but not with Personal Trainers. Marc came out to my home and listened to my latest drama which includes a failed Lumbar Fusion Surgery that left me unable to walk at all, and there was no question in my mind that a lot of therapy and/or training would be in my immediate future. I was not getting the time I felt I needed immediately at a Physical Therapy location in the state that prides itself as being the leader. Marc promised to work with me for 3 days a week, and for an hour each day. He admitted that he did not have a strong Neurological background but thought that many of my issues had to do with strengthening my core and muscles that I still had some control over. And that is where we started, and in the past 4-5 months I have made significant gains in strength which I never thought possible at the age of 67. I was given exercises to do and a routine to practice, and the patient putting in the time and doing the repetitions is a key element in any recovery Marc improvised and created a spot where I could practice squats without needing a spotter. And recently I have been able to stand up with the help of an upright rollator and walk with that rollator through my home. As the saying goes, slow and steady wins the race. The changes and improvements have been slow, but they have been steady. The improvements keep on coming. I am grateful to Marc and the Personal Training Alliance for being patient and working with me to keep coming up with innovative ways of strength training for my unique situation.Mark D. “MSA is amazing! I've been doing Dawn's Zoom workouts since April and I could not love them more! Dawn is incredible, and she does a great job motivating, supporting, accommodating, and of course training. I love the variety of workouts and that there is no pressure to, as Dawn always says, "be a hero". I can see and feel the progress from these classes. If you're looking for a personal trainer or for classes, MSA should be your choice!“

“Performance in Hamden is the best place a person can go for physical therapy. The patient care is astounding; I have been to many PT places and none of them even come close to comparing. The staff is amazing, from the receptionists to the aids to the therapists themselves. They have made such an impact in my recovery to the point where my surgeon was surprised. They are extremely knowledgable and intentional with their exercises. They know when to push and when to slow you down. Unlike many of the PT places I have been to in the past, Performance never made me feel stranded or unattended. They listened to my needs and goals and created a plan to get me there. Additionally, they were attentive to pain, making sure I was in as minimal as possible and was never pushing myself to hard. Renee and Matt have been the best physical therapists. They really have made an extremely significant difference in my recovery. The establishment itself is very clean, and there is always parking. If you are looking for a PT place, just go here, you will be happy that you did.“

“I have been working with Active Wellness now for over 4 years, and I highly recommend working with them. We started with workouts in person in their New Haven studio, but then the Pandemic started and I moved to a different state. Since then, Christina and Drew have been more than accommodating in working with me remotely, which we have done for 3 years.Over the course of that journey, I've had very different goals at different phases in my life. The first phase was before and during the Pandemic, when I managed to lose 45 pounds and reach my lowest weight since college, while reaching my peak fitness in that same period.Christina and Drew were incredible in building a foundation of fitness with a regimented program that built incrementally, starting from my core strength and building all the stabilization muscles to enable all planes of movement without risking injury. I had prior experience with workout plans from high school sports, and I don't think I could have found a program that worked so well without Christina and Drew's help. Workouts were incredibly varied, so it felt new and refreshing, and I felt new muscles get fatigued like my obliques and gluteus medius. It was also great to have individual and group coaching sessions during the Pandemic that helped contextualize the research behind diet, nutrition, muscle building, and fitness with the backdrop of mental wellness and finding motivation to reach our individual goals. These really helped me focus on maintaining my diet to keep my weight loss journey going, since diet is just as important as exercise, if not more so.After the pandemic, I went through a life transition, which meant attending far more social functions and finding far less time to workout. Christina and Drew were nonjudgmental and completely accepting that my life priorities were different now, so our training and coaching would reflect maintaining a base level of health and fitness as opposed to the level of dedication I had during the Pandemic. My core is still as strong as ever, but I have definitely regained a few pounds.Christina and Drew are truly kind, supportive, and helpful in trying to fill whatever blindspots you're struggling with in your health journey. For example, when I had questions on difficult subjects like resting metabolic rates of calorie burning between a pound of muscle vs a pound of fat, they did their homework on their own time to get me an answer. It really shows they are personally invested in your health and success, no matter what your individual goals may be. I unequivocally recommend working with Active Wellness to anyone who is able.“

“I have been going to Dave for 2 yrs now and it has changed my outlook toward exercise and gyms. Personal training is the only way to go. Gyms are boring, and I was doing things all wrong while I was there. I get great instructions, and I have become a lot more flexible and in shape. 100% recommend.“

“I just finished a kettlebell class and it was a great experience. I learned some new excersizes and how my posture was way off haha. It's freaky how poor posture can cause real damage long term. Real good vibes at this place. The owner really cares about your wellbeing too.“

“Lots of therapists to choose from. I usually take a while to warm up when i start at a new place but the doctors were all very nice. I'd been to 3 different pt doctors and one for occupational therapy. All were very thorough. My one qualm with the PT is that they spend soooo much time on the laptop DURING the session. I almost wonder how they can assess me when they're looking at desktop more than me. My OT therapist was very hands on and attentive however. We spent one session with him literally holding my hands the entire time! It was actually comforting..i have RA and my hands suffer. The compression and warmth helps. Nonetheless, it was a decent place for what I was going for. I was just looking to learn some stretches and tips to combat my condition. Im just used to more personable therapy. When I need therapy for an actual injury, I think I'd probably go to my other place. Buy again they were good for what I was needing at this time.“
