3729 Balboa St, San Francisco“A great community yoga studio with generous owners, welcoming staff and knowledgeable instructors who offer options for beginners as well as advanced students. I recently had a one hour massage and bodywork with Stephanie Logan. She’s a gentle, intuitive practitioner who tailored her approach to just what my body and spirit wanted.
Stephanie guided on a journey through my chakras with her gently touch and voice. During the session I could feel my body relaxing and energy that had been dammed in certain places beginning to connect and flow again. Trusting her was easy. The after effects of the release I felt continue to flow in me.“

9AM - 10:15PM
1694 Union St, San Francisco“I did a drop in class as I was traveling through the area. It was super easy to book a drop in, and they had towels and mats to rent. I took Nicole's vinyasa flow class and it was fantastic! Her cues were easy to follow but also allowed to challenge or modify to your abilities. I will definitely keep this studio in mind if I end up with some extra time in San Francisco again.“
“I’ve been attending classes here for at least eight months and I really recommend it. The space is clean, the instructors are great (my fav is Cat) and the workout itself is intense. Well worth the price of the class!“

399 Laurel St Ste 7, San Francisco“I’ve been working with Justin for rehabilitation of my right adductor, where I’ve had pain and limited external rotation for several years now. I've tried chiropractors and PTs before but nothing helped longterm. After just five Redcord Pilates sessions with him, I’ve experienced a remarkable improvement — the pain has significantly reduced, and my mobility is now on par with my left leg.
Justin is extremely knowledgeable about the Redcord system and skilled at identifying and addressing the root cause of movement issues. His sessions are thoughtfully structured, and he takes the time to explain each exercise and its purpose. He also gave me targeted exercises to do at home and in the gym, which, combined with our sessions, have made a huge difference in my recovery.
I highly recommend him to anyone dealing with pain, imbalance, or looking to restore proper movement.“
“I have not taken a class here in a while, but I remember the owner being super friendly and a good hard class. It's Lagree, so if you like Lagree, this is a good place. If you want classical, contemporary, or in-between, there are other options.“
6:30AM - 1:45PM
300 Pine St, San Francisco“Had my first class here at Barry's a few days ago. The staffers are informative and helpful, the space is clean and seemingly well-maintained; the class and the instructors were very clear with their coaching for the group class. The space felt very disorienting at first with low-light and loud sound, but once you get settled, it seems fine. My observation is around hygiene and cleanliness. During the class sessions, no one seems to be wiping down their equipments in between use, which seemed very gross especially during a sweat-inducing class. Perhaps there's more encouragement from the instructions to do so during the session?“

239 Myrtle St, San Francisco“Fit springs are so much and effective! They are great for everybody! Jill is amazing, knowledgeable, and kind.“
6AM - 9PM
1452 Valencia St, San Francisco“The mat Pilates (int/adv) was amazing! Our instructor explained every movement in depth while also keeping the pace of an intermediate/advanced class. She provided corrections and cues that contributed greatly to my Pilates practice.“
6AM - 8PM
1235 4th St, San Francisco“I have been at Powerplay for almost 3 years now. I joined to have some guidance on building muscle and I feel much more confident in weightlifting now. I love how it’s a really supportive place for women! Daniel, Tiff and Jenn taught me a lot in the lift&flex class every week.
I also recently had a baby and it was great to have instructors that know how to modify for pregnancy. I went to classes all the way up to my due date!
I went to my first postnatal class today (cardio dance with Nan) and was able to bring my baby too. Kwanua has created an amazing community at Powerplay.“

161 W Portal Ave, San Francisco“I have been coming to the Pilates Story studio for the last seven years and I can honestly say that I’ve never felt better, both physically and mentally, thanks to their magic touch and genuine care. Hye-Yeon, the owner, tailors our sessions every week to suit my needs and goals.
If you’re looking for a Pilates studio that truly stands out, look no further than Pilates Story in West Portal, San Francisco. From the moment you step in, you’re welcomed into a warm and inviting environment. Whether it’s a personalized 1:1 session or a dynamic group class, the attention to detail and individualized care is unparalleled.
One of the most remarkable aspects of Pilates Story is the strong sense of community fostered by the owner. This isn’t just a place to work out; it’s a space where people connect, support, and celebrate each other. You genuinely feel like part of a family here, which is such a rare and special quality.
If you’re ready to transform your body and mind in a supportive and uplifting environment, Pilates Story is the place to be.
I can’t wait to try their new yoga offering!“
6AM - 7:30PM
3502 Geary Blvd, San Francisco“Being at TPS since August 2023, I can say this has been one of the most transformative fitness experiences for my body. The teachers are patient, skilled, and kind and I have learned so much from their expertise. I’ve had the opportunity to work with Ray, Angela, and McKenzie (and 4 other instructors who have moved on from TPS in the last 2 years) in the in-person studio at the McAllister location. What I appreciate the most is how classes are small, personalized, and also fun!
After nearly 3 years at TPS, I left due to personal reasons, but hope the best in their school. I fell in love with Classical Pilates because of TPS, and hope to carry the same passion for the rest of my lifelong fitness journey!“
9:30AM - 10PM
301 8th St Unit 250, San Francisco“Such a disagreeable experience with the support. The website doesn’t give any information regarding the memberships they offer. I was very interested by their studio so I decided to text them and ask what is the price of their memberships and what do they include (amount of classes per month, other perks). I’ve been doing some back and forth with them for the last week because they won’t tell me this basic information and are asking me to pay $50 for their introductory package to tell me more.
Edit: thanks for taking the time to address this. I’m sure you are doing an incredible work inside the studio; and I hope that raising this issue will enable you to work out the pricing communication to potential clients better in the future.“
6AM - 8PM
351 Shotwell St, San Francisco“Portia is a genius! It's been 10 years since I last did Pilates, and I'm pretty sure I did it wrong then. Over the last month, Portia has been systematically and EFFECTIVELY fixing my form and making it so I can isolate and feel exactly what muscles I should be using without clenching my whole body (I'm really good at clenching). This is leading to much better stability and a solid foundation to build on and get back to where I was 20 years ago. I love Contrology Studio and especially Portia (I can tell Bonnie is amazing too from what I hear in the background of my sessions)!“
7AM - 8PM
1738 Polk St, San Francisco“I loved working with Patti at Raven! As someone recovering from chronic back pain, having someone super hands-on with form is a big deal for me, and Patti was amazing. I always felt really safe and confident in her sessions, knowing I wouldn’t hurt myself again. Plus, I felt myself getting stronger since she made sure I was using the right muscles.
The studio is nice—quiet, clean, and just you and your instructor during privates so it's easy to focus. Since moving away from SF, this is one of the things I miss the most. I even tried a new studio, and during my intro session, they were blown away by how much I knew! They kept asking where I trained and for how long. Honestly, that’s all thanks to Patti. She’s the best!“
5:50AM - 8PM
3726 Cesar Chavez St, San Francisco“Gorgeoussss venue!! And the classes kick your butt in the best way. Great instructors as well!“
6AM - 6:30PM
2254 Union St, San Francisco“I can’t recommend Jack and Jill Pilates enough. I've been going regularly for the last two years and it's one of the best investments in my health. The group classes feel more like semi-private sessions (5 people or fewer), so you get a ton of personalized attention from Evan to detail and form.
Evan is incredibly knowledgeable and clearly passionate about classical Pilates. What really sets her studio apart is that she corrects you. I’ve been to other Pilates studios before, and some bad habits went unnoticed, but at Jack and Jill those habits get fixed and you can feel the difference. She’s strict in the best way: making sure every movement is intentional and aligned properly with no shame in going down in weight to make sure proper form comes first. This isn’t a trendy, loud, chain, studio - it’s focused, no-frills, and all about building real strength, especially those small stabilizing muscles you didn’t even know existed.
Since I spend 8+ hours a day working at a computer, this has been a game changer for my posture and overall body awareness. I leave every session feeling stronger, more aligned, and motivated to keep improving.
If you’re looking for thoughtful instruction, injury prevention, and a deeper connection to your body, this is the place.“

9 Clement St, San Francisco“I went to Mike for chronic pain due to a fussed ankle. The pain had been intermittent over the years. However, recently it had become consistent and interfered with my quality of life. I saw several doctors and none could see a physical reason for the pain. When I walked into Mike’s studio, he immediately saw the problem. In one session he rendered me pain free! It has now been three days and I am able to take long walks with my wife. Before I saw Mike I couldn’t go half a block without pain. Also I’m walking more balanced. Now, as a senior citizen, l feel more steady on my feet.“
9AM - 4PM
1548 Leavenworth St, San Francisco“I have done mat pilates with Virginia over Zoom 3 times/week for at least 5 years. She is always on time and unfailingly pleasant and patient in class. Her online classes were a lifesaver during COVID and continue to be a major factor in my retirement life. If I am traveling, I can usually get a video of the class so I get near year-round service. I would think that anyone. retired or not, would enjoy and benefit from Virginia's classes.“

“my favorite yoga studio in the city! they really have deep respect and understanding of the practice of yoga and the classes are incredibly engaging. i love the hot yoga sessions i feel that the temperature is perfect to get that extra stretch.
my only feedback is i wish the hot box yoga class was a bit more chill and treated as a yoga session and not a workout class. i feel that already the instructor is encouraging us the whole time to push ourselves which is nice but he doesn't give us time to practice mindfulness in silence and try to arrive to mental and physical stillness as he's talking and encouraging us during the entire move. i wish that it was more like the regular tuesday hot yoga where he would give pointers and then let us hold for 10-20 seconds in silence. additionally, i partake during the hot box yoga session and so maybe its a combination of also being high and wishing the atmosphere of the class was more relax as i am more relax myself!“
