930 Main St, Redwood City“Absolutely the best full body workout I’ve ever done in my life! Yes, it is challenging, but don’t let that discourage you. The instructors are wonderful, they support, guide , and encourage you through all the moves. They will make adjustments if you need it, and modifications. I’m literally addicted to the workouts now, and feel “off” if I don’t get them in. Heartcore truly is the best workout and commitment you can do for yourself and your body. Thank you, Heartcore, for truly transforming my body and well being!“

1863 El Camino Real, Burlingame“After nearly a year of attending multiple classes per week with many of the instructors, I have only positive things to say. I found myself wanting to return to the studio daily.
The format of the classes, the energy of the instructors, the sense of community, and the convenient logistics all contribute to creating a virtuous cycle for fitness.
Here are some specific observations:
1. Each instructor brings a unique perspective, and in my experience, they complement each other remarkably well.
2. For Pilates: I've had the opportunity to attend several classes with Samara and Akiko. They run sessions that are accessible for newcomers yet challenging for more experienced participants. Their sequencing, modifications, and ability to read and manage the group's energy make them exceptional instructors.
3. For Yoga: The classes I took followed the Bikram sequence, which is fairly consistent. However, each instructor has their own distinctive style, so you're bound to find one who feels just right for you.
4. Logistics: The studio setup is highly convenient, from parking to restrooms, changing rooms, and lockers. With a wide variety of classes at all hours, finding a convenient session is rarely an issue. The only reason not to attend would be if you simply didn't feel like it--not because of availability or scheduling.
5. The community is outstanding. Both the owners, Samara and Sandy, and fellow students are incredibly supportive and always ready to lend a hand.
6. Pricing is also very reasonable, and the cold towels at the end of classes are a fan favorite!
At one point, I sustained an injury (unrelated to ELC). When I spoke with Sam and Sandy, they encouraged me to come in if I felt up to it, which I did. For several weeks, Sam personally assisted me with weights, mats, and towels (I couldn't carry anything myself), while other students helped with my crutches and kept me connected to my practice. I am deeply grateful--and perhaps a bit biased!“

50 El Camino Real #50, San Carlos“I’m relatively new to taking Pilates classes and I am so lucky to have discovered this jewel in San Carlos. The instructors are very skilled and the atmosphere is welcoming. I was initially shy about starting the classes. Because I wasn’t sure if I was coordinated enough to do it. I felt right at home in these classes. I highly recommend it!“

501-D Old County Rd, Belmont“Ayane is an outstanding practitioner. She hones in on my physical needs and I walk out feeling like a new person. I walk taller and am able to use her observations and exercises to practice on my own. I have scoliosis and arthritis. Ayane has helped me gain symmetry and strength with proper form to work around my weak areas.“

336 Woodside Plz, Redwood City“Love Club Pilates. Great workouts, skilled staff, lots of offering at different levels. So glad I found this Pilates studio.“
“This week, I tried Pilates for the first time at RockSalt Studio in Redwood City. My friend dragged me out of bed at 6:00 AM for this adventure haha. Luckily, finding parking was a breeze since it was early. Walking into the studio, I was blown away by how clean and cozy it was. The instructor gave us a warm welcome, setting the vibe for the whole class. She explained everything in a way that even newbies like me could understand, which was a huge relief. What I loved most was how chill the class was. I didn't feel pressured to keep up with everyone else; I could go at my own pace. The instructor was so positive and helpful, always making sure I was doing the moves right. Plus, the equipment was top-notch and easy to use. After the class, I couldn't wait to come back for more. It was such a great experience, and I'm already looking forward to my next session.“

I had some must-haves when joining a new gym and this gym met it all. It's super clean, spacious, all the equipment I need. For public access, there are no weekend hours but M-F they're open 5am to 9pm. Bonus, there is also free parking.“

835 Mohican Way, Redwood City“I've been studying Pilates with Harriet for over 20 years. The changes I have experienced in my body are dramatic. I have more strength, flexibility and better posture than I did 20 years ago. As well, I have increased my bone density per my latest Dexa scan.Pilates is not just an exercise, but an art form. I had studied with another studio before I found Harriet, and she transformed my practice from good to great. Her body awareness, intuition, and ability to bring a wealth of knowledge from other disciplines into her teaching is unique.Harriet has an uncanny ability to see what I'm doing with my body even through baggy clothing and give me queues to correct my form and activate the right muscles to perform the exercise for the most benefit..Every session is tailored to give me just what I need that day. I can't recommend Harriet enough for anyone who wants to take their Pilates experience to the next level.“

“Jakob Zucker is one of those Barry’s instructors who really stands out for his balance of calm, intentional programming and strong, effective motivation. His classes are thoughtfully structured—you can tell there’s a clear plan behind every block, and the progressions feel purposeful rather than chaotic.
What I appreciate most is his coaching style. He doesn’t rely on over-the-top hype, but instead brings a grounded, steady energy that actually helps you stay focused and push harder. When he does turn up the motivation, it feels genuine and well-timed, which makes it land even more.
His cues are clear, his pacing is smart, and the overall flow of the class just works. Whether you’re newer to Barry’s or a regular, Jakob creates an environment where you feel challenged but also in control.
Also worth noting—the studio itself was super clean and the AC was actually working (which makes a huge difference during those intense workouts).
Overall, if you’re looking for a class that’s both well-programmed and quietly motivating, Jakob is definitely someone to book with.“
