I highly recommend the dog training class by Jeffrey at Petco (El Cerrito). At first I was skeptical of the whole puppy training idea, but as I started joining the class, I realized I had been doing a lot of things wrong and only regretted that I didn't start sooner. Jeffrey is very experienced and knowledgeable - he addresses my endless questions and concerns with patience and encouragement. I will continue to work with him to train my two dogs through different levels - my dogs really enjoy going to the class :-)

I went back yesterday for color highlights and I'm really happy with the results! They are very attentive and considerate, and accommodate my request to be masked during our appointments so I don't have to worry about coming back with covid, which I very much appreciate as a high risk person with existing chronic health issues.
My hair took much longer than expected due to how dark and thick it is, the use of a different dye brand I requested that they picked up for me, and an unexpected power outage but they were a trooper through it all. Since I slept on it slightly damp & had to get up earlier than usual this morning, I'm exhausted & I don't have photos of it that I'm happy with yet but I will be adding them as soon as I do!
Even tho their own hair is very modern & more punk, they still nailed my curly classic cut as well as the color.

Pheakdey is amazing. I've followed her from a previous salon in Oakland (where I live) to her studio at Sola in El Cerrito. Although she used to be located 2 blocks from me, the distance won't stop me from using her for all of my hair care needs! It's hard to find a hair stylist that you trust. She dyes my roots every 7 weeks and cuts my hair every 14 weeks. She knows exactly what I like and I always leave extremely satisfied. She's also done eyelash extensions for me that last for a long time, and the experience was very peaceful and relaxing compared to other places. Not only is she highly skilled, but she's a pleasure to talk to and I always look forward to spending time with her. She is the sweetest and has such a good heart. I highly recommend Pheakdey for hair care and eyelash extensions!

Phil knows so many people from the area and loves to introduce people who are getting their haircut to the folks who are with waiting for their haircut or who have just dropped by to chat. Took a chance and got the Groupon for the gel pedicure here and was pleasantly surprised. I wouldn't say they're exceptional at nails more than anywhere else, but they were highly generous with the complimentary leg and foot massage that comes with the pedicure and everyone working there was very friendly and sweet, so I'd say it's a good deal. Of note, despite having signs everywhere that say cash only, they do in fact take card and just can't accept card for anything less than $10.
I always have a great experience at Nails by Vivian. Tammy is my go-to for dip nails and designs—she always does an amazing job! I’ve also had pedicures with different technicians, and everyone has been friendly and does great work. The salon is clean, and the service is always consistent. Highly recommend!

Andreea is an amazing bodyworker. But that is an understatement. My body was out of alignment from accidents I have thad throughout my life, and it was causing pain. She has been slowly correcting that, and my stance and posture are coming back to the place where it should be. My body is slowly regaining the ease which it had when I was younger. If I could afford it, I would go on a regular basis. She is well versed in many modalities and knows what she is doing.

Larry did a great job cleaning our carpets. He was courteous and communicated well as our appointment got closer. Price was very reasonable. The only downside is I had to wait a few months for an appointment, but he's a one-man show and he gets booked out because he's good, so I can't fault him for that. Definitely would hire again!

We approached contractors cautiously - the two jobs we had were relatively small and we weren't sure if a contractor would take them on - but we had a feeling they were too big for a typical handyman. Eli was willing to take a look and we immediately knew we had our person when he came out to see the job.
Affable, kind, generous with his time, Eli explained things thoroughly, understood our intent, brought a ton of experience to the table, was conscientious of our budget, had good ideas about how to achieve what we wanted within that budget, presenting us with good, workable solutions. He was incredibly responsive to text and email, thorough and professional with his transparent estimates, and started and finished when he said he would.
Once going, his crew was terrific. Professional, yes, but also impeccably clean and with an amazing attention to detail. Romero and Giovanni took great care in their craft and were just a pleasure to have in the house. Everyday the jobsite was left spotless, all the tools and materials neatly arranged in the garage at the end of the day, doors and gates locked.
In the end, the work was finished exactly to our intent, the fit and finish of everything was top notch, and everything was done on time and on budget. So rare these days! The job is done, but we find ourselves looking for other opportunities to work with him. We'd go to Eli again in a heartbeat.
Brian worked on a kitchen remodel with us and the results were wonderful. But more than that, the process was smooth, mostly due to his ability to constantly stay on top of details and keep us in the loop with near constant communication. His standards are very high, for himself and his subcontractors, and it was an all around pleasure to work with him over the three and a half month project. I can't recommend him highly enough.
Promodeling updated our 1940's old-school tiled bathroom which involved replacing tiled walls and stall shower with cultured marble, texturing and painting the walls and ceiling, retiling the floor, refinishing the tub, and installing a new vanity, medicine cabinet, shower door, trim kits, and fan. Alexandra, the Project Manager, was easy to work with. She communicated clearly, returned calls and texts promptly, took time to answer my questions, and was very personable. Brian, the crew leader, was also easy to work with and was patient and thoughtful in explaining things I asked about. He and the crew were friendly, respectful, and cleaned up well each day. Everyone was very attentive to making sure the job was done the way I wanted it, and when I asked for some wall texturing and painting touch-ups, they were taken care of quickly.
I felt good about Promodeling's price. The estimated cost was nearly the same as the final cost. I did authorize a change order to replace an old plumbing part, which was a relatively small cost. I had one bid from another company that was considerably lower, but the estimate was much less detailed and I don't think they anticipated the full scope of the work. Another company's bid was much higher, and the company had their preferred vendors and products, which I felt might limit my input into the materials. I am happy I chose Promodeling.
I gave Promodeling a 4, rather than a 5, since I did need to ask for touch-ups the crew hadn't noticed. Also, the trim painting (window frame, and door and frame) was just OK and not as smooth as I might have done myself. I'm sure I could have asked them to redo it, but chose not to. I admit to being a picky painter! If I have another project, I will definitely contact Promodeling again, and I certainly recommend them to others.

right when i walked in the door they were super nice and got me checked in fast without any of that awkward standing around feeling which honestly made my day bc i was already stressed from traffic
the doctor listened to everything i said about my back pain and didnt rush through like some places do it was genuinely helpful and i could feel the difference even just a few hours later
my only small thing is the parking situation is kinda tight if you come at peak times so maybe park around the block if you see it full otherwise this was a really good experience
I don't know where to begin with how my life has improved under the care of Sound Precision and Dr. Chris (and look forward to seeing Dr. Dom). I've had instability in my neck/spine/shoulder since my teens, and had come to avoid chiropractors where manual adjustments sometimes made things worse. My boyfriend had been telling me for two years to try Dr. Chris before I finally went and I was so impressed/relieved from the work they do here. After an initial assessment with x-rays which confirmed issues at the atlas/top vertebrae I had the sound wave adjustment. I have a science background and I couldn't believe that the technology is so effective. There is no trauma or sudden movement, the work is very gentle and practically hands off with the carefully positioned equipment delivering a sound wave to create the movement internally. The initial adjustment took a couple days to recover entirely, letting the muscles calm down, but since then I have remained far more stable than I had ever been in my life. I now visit every 4-8 weeks for maintenance and it has been 3 years of reduced pain and even my co-workers notice the improvement. I also want to mention the work the team here does with low level laser therapy for acute issues. I have tried it both for a nerve issue in my jaw and for face collagen improvement and saw results with both. This also led me to try red light therapy - which has helped me immensely with body pain issues. I have been diagnosed with hypermobility syndrome and for me this suite of therapies have been invaluable. I want to share my experience with the hope it helps others!

My husband and I got a couples massage here and it was great! Both ladies were highly intuitive and found the problem areas without needing explanation. I have a broken foot that she worked around to relieve swelling/tension. I also have chronic back pain due to nerve issues which often causes very uncomfortable sensations when touched. My lady spent a lot of time working with that area of my back and I felt so much better afterwards, certainly less sensitive to touch. My husband has his own issues with back pain and he said his lady worked wonders. Will return when we can afford it.
This was my first time here; the shop is spotless, and the atmosphere is quiet and cozy. The masseurs are friendly, attentive, and highly professional with plenty of experience. Plus, cupping and hot stone treatments are completely free—I’ll definitely tell my friends so we can come and enjoy it together!

This is a new place. Only been open a few months. Maybe that is why there have been no reviews. I tried it for the first time because my normal person is on vacation. Got a 1 hr massage from Diana. The massage was good and relaxed my tense shoulders and back. Although I found some of her movements a bit rough - for example pushing an arm aside instead of lifting and lowering it. The place was clean. The environment is a bit noisy but I wasn't aware of it inside. Diana was the only one there, which offers the possibility of interruptions. But no one came while I was there so that was ok. The only odd thing was that she left the door to the room ajar, probably incase someone came in. The prices are higher than average for El Cerrito. There are a lot of good massage places for less. I think they should lower their prices to compete.
