Harpreet was polite and explained the install and steps well. Communication from the office was missed on detail regarding the Heat pump model being different but was later clarified and Harry the service tech who did a follow-up visit on my request for some minor noise was also very polite and helpful explaining the issue. I like that they have customers available and connected via text and always responsive.“

Pinewood's installers were on time every time. Polite, patient, skilled, and dedicated to the job like they were working on their own home. They took the time to do things right, and answer every question I had. No issue was every too small to address, and they never left the job site until everything was perfect. About a year after installation, one of the A/C units had a circuit-board failure, and Pinewood took care of it, honouring their warranty efficiently with no questions asked. “Edit - added back a starSpring Home installed a Trane ASHP and furnace in December 2023. We went with this company on account of reviews on Home Stars and the salesperson’s discussion of the company’s stated commitment to service and installation quality.The initial installation guys did the job on the date arranged, showed up on time, were clean, and worked into the evening quite late. This was both appreciated, and concerning as it was very dark outside where the unit was being installed.This dual fuel system has not been without hiccups. The Trane heat pump compressor operates at nearly 80 dB. This was *not* disclosed at the time of sale, rather the product literature provided states “as low as 55dB”. 80dB is nearly 5x louder than 55dB, I’m not convinced this is “normal” and have had two services calls related to this absent resolution. They need to inform customers about this as this level exceeds Ontario recommendations for outdoor noise and can disturb neighbours.I’d encourage any potential HP custome to insist any contractor provide a calculate economic cut point for the proposed system/residence BEFORE signing. We discussed this unit being a ccASHP only for the initial ecobee to be programmed at a cut point just above 0. Makes no sense to discuss a unit operating til -15 only to later have to program the unit this way as I think most potential HP buyers want to minimize carbon use.We had one instance in which the furnace would not kick in when the Ecobee called for heat.Unfortunately it was also the one day in 2024 at minus 20’. Despite multiple (3) calls to their emergency service line, starting at 7am, I waited nearly 5 hours for a call back after originally being told I’d hear back at 8am. Now, the service tech showed up within an hour of that call, which is great, and promptly figured this issue out (a prior tech had wired a wire into the furnace board loosely and it needed tightening), hence I’ve added a start back, but in the interim I had to manipulate the Aux/heat pump thresholds on the Ecobee to force the heat pump to operate without trying to call for the Aux/furnace and that’s the only way I was able to get the house eventually warmed from 15C (and quickly dropping with young kids at home) back up to 20C. So yes, the Trane Resolute will operate and heat at -15C, but will do so loudly.Suggestions:- More uniformity in service standards. Had gaps around duct in the initial install that required a repeat visit. Shouldn’t happen, but was dealt with without issue. And quickly. System was installed with a fast stat module. A subsequent technician stated he would have instead run a new thermostat wire in what would have been a short and easy wire fish as this would be less prone to issues. Remains an option.- the call system needs work. It isn’t reasonable for an “emergency” line to simply take your info, not have any direct knowledge of the tech’s schedule, and not be able to prioritize people who literally have zero heat. I was five minutes away from having to call a third party for service before the tech called to set up the appointment and while he showed up quickly thereafter, it would not have been a safe temp in the house had I now been able to manipulate the Ecobee as above. Having someone call more quickly to discuss and give a window for arrival would have alleviated a lot of worry and trying to problem solve in that circumstance. These are however fixable issues, and thus far the company has stood by the install which is ultimately a good sign.- I would NOT recommend the Trane Resolute because of this issue with condenser noise and you should check noise bylaws in your municipality“
