I value Zahra’s expertise with bleached hair. Many stylists will agree to bleach your hair and will not do a great job—just take a look at the disastrous before picture I’ve included.
Zahra knows what she’s doing, and she advises you based on what is realistic and healthy for your hair, not on how much money she can get out of you. She’s also worked with Redken, has a lot of experience, and uses high quality products.
As you can see you from the pictures, Zahra did a beautiful job. She didn’t take short cuts. It was Ramadan, and she worked on my hair until 2 am, and made sure my mother and I ate when we broke our fast. Her hospitality is unmatched. I appreciate that she made my mother—who was not getting her hair done—feel very comfortable.
Zahra’s not only talented and humble; she’s also very intentional about how she designs her space and client experiences. The salon is always clean, quiet, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed. She shared her vision for the salon and life in general, and I can tell you that she has a strong sense of justice and a desire to connect and create community, especially among women of color. While someone may think that bears no relevance to her ability to do my hair, it damn sure does to me. I don’t want anyone with bad vibes touching my hair and sharing space with me for all of these hours.

Luigi was my barber at Illuzienz Barbershop. He’s a lovely gentleman and knows how to leave you sharp with a personalized haircut. I walked in the shop a day before New Years and he welcomed me with a warm smile. Before the cut, he assesed my hair and asked questions about how I style it, if I had done something different before and what I liked and I didn’t like.
The haircut process was amazing and didn’t take long. I can say with so much confidence that Luigi should be your go to if you are looking for outstanding results and close attention to details. I tend to be picky with my results but I am certain that this has been the best haircut I’ve ever gotten.
Sadly, I was visiting from Los Angeles but I wouldn’t mind flying back to NY just to get a cut by him. Luigi, keep up the great work man! I loved the cut!!!

Today I had the opportunity to visit Alvaro Barbershop, and I was highly impressed with both the quality of the service and the shop itself.
I live in Mineola, and I decided to drive 28 minutes to this barbershop because I had already tried four different places in my area and wasn’t satisfied with any of them. It was absolutely worth the trip.
My barber was Andrea—she is very professional, friendly, and attentive. She made sure I was satisfied throughout the entire service by asking questions and paying close attention to detail. My haircut came out great. I recommend her 1,000,000%.
The shop itself is a 10 out of 10: very nice, clean, and with a welcoming atmosphere. Everyone is extremely friendly, they greet you with a warm smile, and even the owner is super friendly.

This salon recently changed owners and is now called Glamour Nail and spa. I never write reviews but they deserve a million stars! The salon is so clean and pretty inside and they care for each one of their customers! Upon arriving they were so kind and sat me down right away. They gave me a water bottle and started taking my polish off! They made sure I liked the color on my nails before painting all of them which was so nice. They made sure my nails were as even as they possibly could be as well. Avery did my gel manicure and Jason did my Pedicure and they did a fantastic job. Thank you guys for giving me a great experience! You are all the best!

This salon - and especially Jet S at the Huntington location - are absolutely fantastic - the BEST! I had to find a new salon and stylist because my previous person left the field temporarily. And so I saw some photos of Jet's work on social media, so I decided to give her and Anthony DeFranco Salon a try, and.... as long as I live nearby, I'll now never go anywhere else!Jet is a true artist and the best stylist I've ever had, anywhere, anytime, ever. Each time I go in for a haircut, I want something different to change it up a bit. Jet not only creates the style I want, but she markedly improves it so that it fits my face and "me" even better. I'm blown away (pun!) by her artistry. She is a true professional. Oh - and... when my hair grows out from the cool new cut, it grows into another cut that I love!... a sign of a true master of her trade. :)I should also mention that Jet is extremely personable and always makes me feel comfortable (and I consider myself very introverted and awkward. ha) and makes me smile and laugh.Also... everyone at the salon is sooooo friendly and welcoming... even the owner greets me while I'm waiting for my appointment with Jet. I was staying at the Whitman Motor Lodge and I walked in to get my hair blown out for a wedding. Susan squeezed me in before her first client. She and her assistant Jessica gave me the royal treatment. They used rollers, and a special conditioner. Susan angled my "fat frizzy" hair in the back for no extra charge. Susan went above and beyond to make sure I had red carpet worthy hair. Jessica was helpful and efficient. I will definitely return to Aviance next time I'm in the area. I booked my mom a HydraFacial and lymphatic facial massage with Rebecca, and she absolutely loved it. She’s not usually someone who gets overly excited about treatments, but I’ve genuinely never seen her this happy after a facial. She couldn’t stop talking about how incredible she felt afterward. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s still thinking about it days later. Safe to say, she’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend booking with Rebecca!

Blit’s was honest, detail-oriented, and knowledgeable. We have used them multiple times for many years but I believe they have since been bought out and is now MDM Plumbing. I haven’t tried them since but think they should update their Google page to reflect their new name and management.

Prefacing my review by saying we are not related, friends with, or ever met Joe, the owner of APple flooring before I reached out to him for an estimate for carpeting for the stairs in my condo. Looked online and found Apple Flooring had excellent reviews yet still had some doubts whether or not they were real reviews. I called and spoke with Liz, who was exceptionally nice. Joe, the owner,, came to give us a complimentary estimate. He definitely knew what he was talking about, didn't pressure us, seemed very honest, and although the job was labor intensive his estimate was extremely fair. Also liked supporting a local business. We're very happy with the carpet and the installation was done exactly the way we wanted. Only regret is that we didn't find Joe and Apple Flooring prior to installing our luxury vinyl flooring! Plan to go back to make a runner for my entry. Highly recommend Joe and Apple flooring

We were able to schedule this small job within a week, and Procraft did an excellent, and very thorough, job. From getting the product information so that they could review the installation ahead of time, to arriving on time, doing an excellent install, and cleaning up, everything went beautifully.

This location has great parking, is clean and so relaxing even when you walk in. I'm a plus size girl and one things I never liked about getting facials was the uncomfortable tables that were not wide enough. Their tables are very comfy. I had no trouble at all. The girls at check in were welcoming with smiles and were very nice. I enjoyed my experience.

St. Anthony's driving teachers educate students on 1. how to drive, 2. NYS road rules, 3. being aware of their surroundings, and 4. dealing with distractions (such as cellphones and the other kids in the car who are also taking the course).Classes are given weekly over a 4 month period on the same day each week. They consist of an hour lecture and an hour and a half of shared driving. The teacher sits in the passenger seat and four students rotate between sitting in the back and taking their turn in the driver's seat.What is taught MUST be studied and practiced at home before the next class, which requires the presence and guidance of a licenced adult. The teacher is a teacher, not a magician, and without reading the manual and spending time behind the wheel, your teen won't gain the confidence they'll need, placing themselves and other's at risk.St. Anthony's cost for group driving lessons is exactly average for Long Island. If you prefer private instruction, there are places listed online (at a much higher fee). You will still need to practice with your son/daughter at home, and they will still need to study the driving manual and memorize NYS driving rules, not just for the test, but literally for their lives.4 Stars Because: If you attend this course but do not go to this school, you will generally find yourself treated by the other kids as if you do not exist.Recommendation: Absolutely worth it for what it teaches if you attend this high school or if you are coming in from the outside and are confident enough not to let cliques bother you.
My son took the 5 hour course in the beginning of September and took lessons with Robert Baker after. I have to say- what a wonderful experience. This school is so accommodating!!! They did everything they could to help my son feel comfortable. My son was most comfortable with Robert and they were able to work around my son's school schedule and literally bent over backwards for him. I could not be happier. He passed his road test!!! They make you feel like family and I am so happy that we were able to work with them. Lynn is amazing and a true asset to the company and will literally do anything she can to help Thank you Lynn!!!!!! ! The young ladies in the office are friendly and when they say they will call you back- they call you back! And Robert Baker!!!! He is truly one of a kind!!!! Thank you to all!!!!
