Decided to get a second opinion. Contacted Thermo Direct (glad I did) and scheduled a consult for the next day. Prior to arrival, they reach out via text/email with a link that allows you track how far the tech is out. The tech Philip arrived within a reasonable time. He examined the hot water heater and explained things in layman terms. Once done, I was shown pricing options with additional warranty option, with no pressure to make a decision right away. I called on a Sunday, they answered the phone! And we scheduled for Monday. Noah called me as he was inbound to give me an ETA, was on time and it is really wet today, he took off his shoes. The bolts rusted through the tank, hence the leak. The toilet was old so we agreed to rebuild the tank, Mum has a year warranty, we got a 10% discount and all of us are thrilled and happy.
