28075 John R Rd, Madison Heights“I recently met with Eshaan at Detroit Strong Gym, and he immediately made me feel comfortable discussing my fitness goals, the challenges that have held me back, and the steps I can take to finally achieve them. As someone who has struggled with my fitness goals my entire life, I truly appreciated the time he took to listen, answer questions, and explain his recommendations in a way that felt achievable. Eshaan’s approach is both science-based and personalized, with a focus on building strength, confidence, and healthy habits that last. He’s kind, encouraging, and even shared some great reading recommendations to support my journey. Detroit Strong Gym offers a welcoming, non-intimidating environment where training is tailored to you, whether you’re just starting out or ready to push yourself to the next level.“

3536 Rochester Rd, Troy“If you've always wanted to dance, but were afraid to start, then this is definitely the place for you. I came to the Troy Dance Studio as a complete beginner and was amazed at how quickly I began to master the basic movements. The construction process is very competent, the load is evenly distributed. The result is visible after a couple of weeks! I am very pleased with my choice.“

8AM - 7PM
6245 Orchard Lake Rd, West Bloomfield“As with most people I don’t really like working out. However, with the Exercise Coach I’m motivated to come twice a week to work out.
The staff - Michael, Staci and Allen, among others are absolutely the best and keep me coming back with great workouts that change after each rotation.
The strength workouts are long enough, also at the end of your routines you finish off with a quick cardio session. Making for a great 20 minute workout.
Highly recommended the Exercise Coach at the West Bloomfield location.“

4885 15th St, Detroit“8/4/2025 5*
I only started about a month and a half ago, but I've had experience with other boxes before, and this one takes the cake. In this past month, I've tried to meet as many coaches as I could and attended a variety of time slots to get to know the other athletes. Every one of them is good people.
Programming is awesome and challenging.
Coaches are aligned yet offer a variety of coaching styles (all of which I appreciate for different reasons), and injury prevention is shown to be a priority through both programming via thoughtful post-MetCon exercises and the coaches' quick critical thinking for scaling, empathy for knowing how we'll probably want to push ourselves further than we should, and encouragement for when we might have to do less than we want. Additionally, I'm seeing a lot of HWPO-type programming, and Mat Fraser is no-joke one of my heroes. Coaching and programming strongly exceeded my expectations. 5*
Facility is very clean and the equipment is all in good working condition.
For a smaller, local box (as opposed to those giant facility ones), I was surprised to find an AssaultRunner, SkiERG, and GHD as well as stocked showers. At least three ropes! At least two high ring pairs! Aesthetic is pretty cool to me. North and East facing windows are perfect for catching that sunrise and not baking in the evening. Facility and equipment exceeded my expectations. 4*
Classes and fitness community are great vibes.
I know that this is not entirely within the business's control, but I would be remiss not to mention the culture that they have shaped here. All the other athletes are encouraging and friendly. People seem to care about one another, and I truly felt welcomed without any judgment. From jumping between different classes at different times, both the coaches and the other athletes really make it hard for me to choose a favorite class to attend, which is really a good sign imho. Classes and fitness community greatly exceeded my expectations 5*
Extra Credit: Ethical Business Practice and Community
As much as a I am intrigued to see state-of-the-art super-facilities with all the latest tech on a massive scale, I will almost always prefer the smaller local business that both knows the community it's born in and also continuously gives back to that community. I came to this box knowing from its mission statement online that it was an inclusive space and, from its instagram, that it supports a diverse group of athletes. I later learned about how much it gives back to the community with its accessible CrossFit Kids program and donations it puts forth for the nearby school all while shaping our next generation to be upstanding empathic individuals. Additionally, as a member of the LGBTQ community, it mattered immensely to see that they still did an OUTWOD and contributed to protecting LGBTQ members and LGBTQ youth. This is a large part of why I feel safe in this gym. Core City Crossfit also offers a SoberWOD that I believe is free, and while I have not attended, I strongly believe there is immense value to this program and, to be frank, its mere existence has subconsciously already shifted my alcohol intake to much healthier habits; not even my doctor has been able to make such a noticeable difference. Bahaha! Lastly, I don't know if this gets much recognition, but this box has a monthly email newsletter that I actually read through and thoroughly enjoy. That's just a me-thing, but I love it. Ethical Business Practice and Community greatly greatly exceeded my expectations +5*
Overall 5* Thanks, y'all! <3“

aesthetic of place - 100
really cool gym good ownership recently has been super clean love this place probably the best powerlifting and general gym in troy, they got a ton if stuff
The thing that i love about this gym, is that the community here is genuine. You won’t meet as dedicated and passionate lifters at another gym in the state, the ownership doesn’t care about solely making profits, they want the gym to be friendly, functional, and a community.“
5AM - 11PM

After a hard day at work it’s comforting to go to a place where most where you are trying to be your best and know that the staff cares that you had a good workout/ or had a great class workout. I truly feel like I am getting my money’s worth. You also have a nice, respectful group of people that f equestrian this gym. It’s good cameraderie. Keep up the good work Camero and LA staff.“

30150 Grand River Ave, Farmington Hills“Love this gym, just need some of the new machines that are just hip thruster and hip abdication“
5AM - 11PM
25352 Woodward Ave, Royal Oak“8/19/25 Still a great place to come light traffic in the early afternoon.
6/9/25: Update - I have raised the rating from 4 to 5, I have been going for over 3 months now and it has continued to be a friendly place that is well maintained.
I have read a lot of reviews and was concerned that the gym was going to be dirty and the aerobics machines were going to be offline. That was not the case I have been going there for a week and all the aerobics machines except for one treadmill were up. Of the steppers they have six three had service coming and everything else was running. I do not use the locker room so I can't speak to that but the rest of the facility was very clean some of the equipment is older and that is evidenced by rubber grips that are worn but in general it is a very nice gym. In addition the staff at the front is very friendly and very helpful.“
“This facility and the staff deserve a very high review. My wife and I have been attending for about 10 months now and our senior citizen lives are much better for it: physically, mentally, and socially.“
“BUILD ANOTHER BodyZone in Oxford Please!!!
Oxford has like 10 Cannabis shops but no gay club or bar? Why?
i have never been to BodyZone but would love to come down sometime. Or maybe if business is going well for you could Build a BodyZone in OxFord michigan, or Rochester hills, theres no gay bars or anywhere for people to meet up here. closest places are pontiac and flint, and there are lots and lots of LGBTQ peoples in oakland county, i would even try and get a job if it was closer by. thanks hope u build a place of some kind out this way.“

“I’ve been training with Brian at A.M. Total Being Fitness for about 12 weeks so far through a hybrid program that includes both in-person every couple or few weeks and online app exercises, and it’s been an amazing experience from start to finish. Brian’s guidance, motivation, and deep knowledge have helped me stay consistent and confident throughout my fitness journey. His workouts are always well-structured, tailored to my goals, and challenging in the best way possible.
What also makes this gym stand out is the entire team. Elvis always greets everyone with a warm, friendly energy that instantly makes you feel welcome, setting up sessions, and supported. Trainers Sam and Kris also go above and beyond to create a positive, encouraging atmosphere they’re approachable, professional, and genuinely care about every client’s progress. Also the entire team at A.M. Total Being Fitness don’t just focus on the workouts they also prepares a personalized diet plan and conducts heart rate and fitness testing to understand exactly where you are physically, so you can work toward your goals safely and effectively.“
