Obviously the teachers and energy in the room at Citizen is always amazing. Happy to be able to be back on my mat and practicing.“

He brings wisdom, devotion and careful attention to each student in his presence. With his guidance my practice has deepened in every respect. As a huge side-benefit, the significant scoliosis pain I had when I first came to him has been greatly reduced. I am grateful!“

“Back in September, I came to one of the dinners to show support for a family member, and yet, during the presentation I found myself raising my hand to some of Nicole's questions, nodding, and even tearing up. I knew that this journey here at the WTI was one I needed to explore, because that day, for the first time in a while, I ended up feeling as if there was a "glimmer of hope".... for myself. Before joining the program I experienced a lot of "crumby" feelings: from frequent headaches & migraines, debilitating tension, bouts of unexplained anxiety, to irritable bowel flare-ups. I felt as if there were more bad days than good. I was miserable. Looking back I realize that I wasn't living life to the fullest. I dreaded making plans with anyone because I never knew how I was going to feel. There were so many times that I'd be excited about something but then I would have to cancel because my body was hurting in some way or another. It's understandable that over time, with this type of pattern, the invitations eventually stopped coming.I'm learning and have learned so much from the WTI team. I'm a visual and hands-on learner so the cooking demos, the handouts, and yoga classes have all been very helpful. This is one of the reasons I'm confident that I'll be able to continue with my healthier-me journey because the information presented; the "whys", the "whats", and the "hows" are all laid out nicely and make sense.Through the guidance and support of my WTI team, I've been able to stop relying on prescription medications, ("oral Band-Aids") and can proudly say that it has been a little over 7 months since needing refills on any of them, including the beta-blocker! I have built a healthier relationship with food and have even identified a few that cause sensitivities. I've finally kicked the unhealthy relationship that I formed with caffeine; I used to drink 2-3 energy drinks and at least a couple of cups of coffee with copious amounts of flavored creamer, daily. I don’t need it and realize that there are so many better choices out there.Since joining & completing the program: I've also lost about 16 pounds, am much more hydrated, my skin looks brighter, and all around I'm starting to feel better. I've started venturing out, planning engagements and committing to plans again. I've found a new love and appreciation for yoga, as well as deep breathing. I know that I'm a work in progress and that this is something I'm mindfully going to need to stick with, but that doesn't scare me. What scares me (or scared me) was the thought of forever feeling the way that I did before.Today I feel hopeful, unstuck. I feel as if I'm starting to take back my life, I'm starting to actually live it.Thank you all for the knowledge, courage & support you've given me throughout these last few months. I will forever be grateful.“

8373 Old 13 Mile Rd, Warren“I started with the 10 day for $10 beginners package and tried a variety of classes, then I signed back in for another month. I'm an older woman and a true beginner - zero flexibility and terrible balance. In just 2 weeks my balance began to improve. The flexibility is going to take a little longer but I know it will come. I enjoy the peacefulness of yoga and the participants are really nice, non-judgmental and very supportive. In the studio, there are no expectations. The level you are at is the level you are at. I like that I can progress at my own rate and am not intimidated. So far, the only instructor I've had is Patty. She's great and makes very gentle corrections. If you're thinking about yoga but worried about being intimidated by a room full of perfect people doing perfect poses - try the beginning classes at Strongheart - whatever level you are at is acceptable and you won't be disappointed.“
“This studio is not only exactly what I was looking for as a beginner, but Jessica(the instructor)was able to guide me along my journey of healing. The classes are the perfect size and the price is right! It’s a treat to have someone as kind as they are professional at the front of the class and Jessica @ Studio One provides that with every class I’ve attended.“

108 S Main St B, Royal Oak“Bold Flow is the best place to decompress and also build strength and flexibility! My favorite teachers are Nicole Cuneaz and James Cox...if you want a strong well thought out intense flows for all levels and killer playlists and Suzanne Awan and Page Heenan...if your soul needs some nurturing tenderness while still opening up the body to release the tension and stress .... so far...but still looking forward to trying out all the teachers! All the teachers I have tried teach beautiful crafted flows and have a genuine presence, which makes me feel welcome and I love the way they create a space to practice regardless skill level or energy level....I just know I will feel better after yoga class....Thank you Bold Flow for also staying true to what the original roots of Yoga Shelter began as....a place where everyone is welcome and accepted to roll out a matt and discover what their body is capable of doing without pressure to be anyone other than who they are ....all while breathing as a community and enjoying the magic of music to take you on a journey through the ancient poses of yoga....love it!“
