“Training Ground is well-equipped for a variety of fitness goals and client types. Their fitness equipment and training space is well-maintained and clean. Their personalized fitness plans are dynamic and thoughtful, and trainers explain how each exercise helps your body, while also correcting form and offering encouragement. My own trainer, Josue, and every other trainer I observed were motivating and kind, and they always brought positive energy to the space. I would highly recommend TG for a beginner wanting to learn how to workout, and for an advanced client with specific fitness goals!“

“After having my second baby (2 kids in 2 years), I was feeling a bit disconnected from my body, to say the least. I looked different, I felt tired, and I was determined to find a way to get healthier, feel more confident, and increase my energy. Enter Ultimate Performance. I was skeptical at first. I had worked with personal trainers before, was this really going to make the difference? Was I going to spend the $$$ and have it be the same as any other trainer? I am so happy to share that it has turned out to be 1000% worth it. For me, the big differentiator between UP and working with other trainers in the past is the focus on the nutritional aspect along with the actual training--and that shift has made all the difference for me. In the past, I've worked with trainers who primarily focused on exercises without delving into the nutritional aspect. They would suggest certain foods or exercises without thoroughly explaining their rationale or providing follow-up or guidance. At UP, they truly serve as your personal wellness coach, regularly checking in with you for accountability and support. I feel like I have a partner in my fitness journey, which helps me stick with it and celebrate the small daily wins. Their app alone is the best fitness app I've used for tracking meals, steps, etc. However, while this approach has been beneficial for me, I could see how it might feel overwhelming for people who are less inclined towards a structured, disciplined process or for someone seeking a more relaxed experience. They mean business at UP, so they do check in on you regularly to see how you're progressing. Personally, that's the experience I wanted. The community at UP Bethesda, specifically, is super professional and collegial, everyone is friendly and I enjoy going there. I have been training with Zach and he's been supportive, positive, and consistent. He also takes the time to explain things - whether it's the why behind doing a certain exercise or the reasons behind certain nutrition recommendations. If he doesn't have the answer to a question in the moment, he always follows up with me afterward. He's also just a kind person, and I feel like he wants me to succeed just as much as I want to succeed. It's been a 10/10 experience for me. I've been training at UP for 3 months and I look better than before I had kids--and I feel better too. I am eating healthier, have more energy, and even my family has benefitted from my dietary changes. This is not to say it's been easy. It's required diligence and commitment, and there have been many (many, many) days where I want to cave or stray from the plan. But, in fully committing to the process, I can say it's actually worked for me. I'm happy to chat with anyone interested in UP Bethesda about my experience.“

I was initially aloof and skeptical of Thesis’ concept; but coming in my first day, folks (shoutout to TJ) made me feel welcome and supported, so it was no brainer that I should sign-up! From their app to the customized meal plans, I have the structure that I’ve been missing to continue being better!It’s also great that Thesis matches you with a coach; and I couldn’t be more thankful that Nate is the coach for me! He’s the best! He challenges me to push myself while making sure that I’m careful enough to not be injured or get hurt. I find that having instruction is something I really need to have an effective workout, and I really enjoy the teaching I get each time and the instructors' different styles. I also appreciate going to a woman-only studio in which the equipment and workouts are geared toward women. I have increased my strength and flexibility in a very short time! “By far the best workout in DC. I’m a Physical Therapist and have tried many workouts in the area, and not one compares to the level of expertise you will get with Katie, Burns \\u0026 Garrett. The programming is top notch - well thought out to not only give you a good workout, but to hit those muscle groups that are commonly ignored in other group workouts. They can easily help you modify if something is too difficult or if you are working through an injury. Big bonus - the community they’ve created is amazing. “I’ve known Doug for over 20 years now, and he’s been my personal trainer for 8 years in the past, when I started working out to lose weight after my pregnancy. I’ve enjoyed working out with Doug so much back then, that even after I’ve accomplished my original goals, I’ve continued my workouts with Doug because I was receiving so much more than I’ve originally hoped for.I’ve had multiple injuries over the last few years, and when I was told that I need to do physical therapy, I turned to Doug again. I could not think of anyone better to help me get back in shape on multiple levels. From my experience with Doug in the past, I knew that he has a lot of experience training people with injuries. I could barely move, and I could not even begin to think of working out, so I knew I had to reach out to Doug again. Doug is patient and incredibly creative when it comes to modifying the exercises. He was able to come up with a workout plan to fit my needs and that was double for me. And then Doug was there for me, supporting and encouraging me to take it one step at a time. After working out with Doug for 6 months, I slowly but surely got back on track in terms of my physical strength and stamina. I do not enjoy working out, but I forget about that when I am training with Doug. He is versatile and keeps me engaged, his repertoire of exercises seems to be endless. “I have been going to Elite for over 8 months and it really is transformative. I have lost over 25lb and am in the best shape of my life. They really know what they are doing. It’s challenging but fun and a great community. I have always been into fitness and staying active and I could go to a big corporate gym but there’s something special about this smaller, family style gym that keeps me coming back. I love the accountability, the challenge and the pride when I feel when my trainer tells me I did a great job. I recommend Elite to anyone who will listen. I love it here for real.“

“This place is awesome. A bit small but great staff and most importantly to me extremely clean. New machines, towel service, and usually not crowded (especially compared to other gyms in the area). If you want to avoid crowds further it’s literally open 24/7 year round, so come at off hours.“

“I've seen Dr. Schreffler for the duration of my pregnancy to proactively balance and mitigate so many of the traditional aches, pains, and body changes. His work with me has evolved with every week and every new concern/area of focus. He has a very personalized approach to meet the needs of my body. There are traditional chiropractic movements, but also body work, massage, and Webster Technique additions. Dr. Schreffler is kind, empathetic, knowledgeable (and shares this knowledge) proactively and makes me feel very comfortable (and my body feel better after every session). I've seen a few chiropractors and Dr. Schreffler is the best for me! Would highly recommend if you are looking for a thoughtful approach.“
