“My fiancé and I started working with Fitness Stop in late May 2020, with both trainers Rob Armstrong and Rob Wright. We were looking for trainers who could help us get into shape, lose weight and look forward to exercising. Both Robs were very interested in learning about our goals and how they could help us achieve them. In the beginning, I think it's fair to say we were both out of shape. We've now been working out with the Robs for almost three months and are in so much better shape than when we started. I've lost an additional seven pounds from when we started. In addition to working out two times per week, we have been getting "homework" each week to help us stay in shape in between sessions. We have steadily increased the number of miles we run per week and are now at 20 miles per week, something neither of us could have imagined we'd be doing when we started. We now do ab workouts twice and day, regularly stretch and also do other daily exercises, such as 100 pushups or jump squats. During training sessions, Rob Armstrong keeps the conversation flowing and makes the time go by quickly. Rob Wright is a bit more structured in his workouts but is no less fun to be around. Both are encouraging and provide guidance on working out and proper technique. We'd highly recommend working with Fitness Stop if you want to get into better shape and a better exercise routine. We're going to continue working out with the Robs after our first three-month contract term runs out. They're great guys and have helped us achieve our goals!“

“Training Ground is well-equipped for a variety of fitness goals and client types. Their fitness equipment and training space is well-maintained and clean. Their personalized fitness plans are dynamic and thoughtful, and trainers explain how each exercise helps your body, while also correcting form and offering encouragement. My own trainer, Josue, and every other trainer I observed were motivating and kind, and they always brought positive energy to the space. I would highly recommend TG for a beginner wanting to learn how to workout, and for an advanced client with specific fitness goals!“

“After having my second baby (2 kids in 2 years), I was feeling a bit disconnected from my body, to say the least. I looked different, I felt tired, and I was determined to find a way to get healthier, feel more confident, and increase my energy. Enter Ultimate Performance. I was skeptical at first. I had worked with personal trainers before, was this really going to make the difference? Was I going to spend the $$$ and have it be the same as any other trainer? I am so happy to share that it has turned out to be 1000% worth it. For me, the big differentiator between UP and working with other trainers in the past is the focus on the nutritional aspect along with the actual training--and that shift has made all the difference for me. In the past, I've worked with trainers who primarily focused on exercises without delving into the nutritional aspect. They would suggest certain foods or exercises without thoroughly explaining their rationale or providing follow-up or guidance. At UP, they truly serve as your personal wellness coach, regularly checking in with you for accountability and support. I feel like I have a partner in my fitness journey, which helps me stick with it and celebrate the small daily wins. Their app alone is the best fitness app I've used for tracking meals, steps, etc. However, while this approach has been beneficial for me, I could see how it might feel overwhelming for people who are less inclined towards a structured, disciplined process or for someone seeking a more relaxed experience. They mean business at UP, so they do check in on you regularly to see how you're progressing. Personally, that's the experience I wanted. The community at UP Bethesda, specifically, is super professional and collegial, everyone is friendly and I enjoy going there. I have been training with Zach and he's been supportive, positive, and consistent. He also takes the time to explain things - whether it's the why behind doing a certain exercise or the reasons behind certain nutrition recommendations. If he doesn't have the answer to a question in the moment, he always follows up with me afterward. He's also just a kind person, and I feel like he wants me to succeed just as much as I want to succeed. It's been a 10/10 experience for me. I've been training at UP for 3 months and I look better than before I had kids--and I feel better too. I am eating healthier, have more energy, and even my family has benefitted from my dietary changes. This is not to say it's been easy. It's required diligence and commitment, and there have been many (many, many) days where I want to cave or stray from the plan. But, in fully committing to the process, I can say it's actually worked for me. I'm happy to chat with anyone interested in UP Bethesda about my experience.“

I was initially aloof and skeptical of Thesis’ concept; but coming in my first day, folks (shoutout to TJ) made me feel welcome and supported, so it was no brainer that I should sign-up! From their app to the customized meal plans, I have the structure that I’ve been missing to continue being better!It’s also great that Thesis matches you with a coach; and I couldn’t be more thankful that Nate is the coach for me! “I was diagnosed with Guillain Barre Syndrome Sept of 2022 where I had to be hospitalized and was released Dec of 2022. I lost the ability to walk (on my own) and unable to use my hands as the paralysis hit only my limbs past the elbow and knee cap. On top of continuing with my outpatient physical & occupational therapy .. Brian has worked with me since the New Year. Every week Brian offered support and great guidance with different stretches, new exercises and techniques in order to begin regaining my muscles back in my arms and legs. I started off in a wheelchair and am close to switching from a walker to a cane now .. thankfully his facility is also fully handicap accessible! Right away, the moment you walk in, you just feel ready. The vibe is just right to get you to get going AND KEEP GOING! Brian has ABSOLUTELY been a vessel in my recovery journey. I would not have progressed as much as i have if it weren’t for this gym. Not to mention, Brian was in contact with my PT so they were in the know about what i was doing each week! I mean, COME ON.. doesn’t get better than that. A coach, a trainer who genuinely cares. I am grateful for Brian & BOWTAI FITNESS!! “I made the decision to train with Brad when I turned 60 because everything was starting to hurt – my knee when hiking, my shoulder when gardening, my back when just standing for too long. Three months in, I am amazed how much I’ve learned and how much confidence I’ve gained. Brad has an incredible grasp on body mechanics and has shown me how my pain is usually related to imbalances in musculature or flexibility. He has the knowledge and ability to identify underlying issues and craft exercises and stretches that improve my strength and flexibility while protecting the body parts that hurt. “I've been working virtually with Alek since January. I was skeptical at first with the idea of online personal training. Alek has been amazing though, and I couldn't be more pleased! I injured my shoulder last summer and I could barely raise my arm above my head when he and I started working together. My strength has improved, my range of motion is much better, and friends and neighbors have been complimenting me on how great I look. Alek keeps me engaged between sessions with homework, and he is very successful at motivating me early in the morning despite me not being an early riser. Alek has my highest recommendation!“

“I’ve been using On the Go Fitness about a year now and I have to say the team is awesome! I’ve had personal trainers off and on for over two decades. I was in the military and needed one to keep me maxing my PT scores. (...because the scores DO matter no matter what you want to believe.) While many things play into your success in the military, I argue that “excellent” performance on your PT tests does a lot psychologically to show you are ready for the challenges of leadership. You don’t need to be a gym rat to be a good leader. You just need to show up once a year, and effortlessly max what is expected of you. The programming is top notch - well thought out to not only give you a good workout, but to hit those muscle groups that are commonly ignored in other group workouts. “I’ve known Doug for over 20 years now, and he’s been my personal trainer for 8 years in the past, when I started working out to lose weight after my pregnancy. I’ve enjoyed working out with Doug so much back then, that even after I’ve accomplished my original goals, I’ve continued my workouts with Doug because I was receiving so much more than I’ve originally hoped for.I’ve had multiple injuries over the last few years, and when I was told that I need to do physical therapy, I turned to Doug again. I could not think of anyone better to help me get back in shape on multiple levels. From my experience with Doug in the past, I knew that he has a lot of experience training people with injuries. I could barely move, and I could not even begin to think of working out, so I knew I had to reach out to Doug again. Doug is patient and incredibly creative when it comes to modifying the exercises. He was able to come up with a workout plan to fit my needs and that was double for me. And then Doug was there for me, supporting and encouraging me to take it one step at a time. After working out with Doug for 6 months, I slowly but surely got back on track in terms of my physical strength and stamina. I do not enjoy working out, but I forget about that when I am training with Doug. He is versatile and keeps me engaged, his repertoire of exercises seems to be endless.
