P.S. I'm glad that I can have run-on sentences in my review.“

4 Yosemite Ave, Oakland“I started taking yoga classes here 7 years ago, and it has literally changed my life. At that point, my health was very problematic. I couldn't balance with my eyes closed. I couldn't bend all the way over. But after what I've learned at Mountain Yoga, in my mid-70s I have gained flexibility and good balance, and I feel as good as I have in many years. All the teachers I've had have been great, and quite different from each other so there are a variety of approaches. The studio is very good about encouraging each student to find their own best way of practicing, and there are many resources available to make that happen -- different kinds of classes in person, online, and recorded, as well as workshops and retreats. I am an older woman who had no experience at all with yoga before I came here, and I feel like I've found my yoga community.“

3976 Piedmont Ave, Oakland“Updated review:
I decided to try the studio again after the manager reached out to me and offered a class credit. The class was smooth and cheerful. I will go back.
The yoga instructor took 5 minutes of the class talking about politics, going far beyond the typical 'peace and justice for all' messages in yoga practices and kept reminding in the middle of the practice that injustice hurts which made it very stressful. For one thing, it's not inclusive to assume everyone agrees with their views. Secondly, this was my space to meditate and her tone and words really left me stressed out.“
“I love this yoga studio

“I've been having some health issues for about 6 months. Kaiser couldn't have cared less to help me heal. I turned to Dr. Feng, and he was able to diagnose the issue on my first appointment. I started seeing results immediately. Went back for a second appointment. I thought they'd want to see me again but they told me I'd be fine and I could come back if I wanted to. Two sessions with Dr Feng and all my issues have completely disappeared. I am so grateful to him.“

2008 Park Blvd, Oakland“New to the area and so glad I found this space - the instructors are incredibly welcoming and it has a great variety of classes.“
“I’ve been a member here for about 1.5 years and I really love this studio. I mainly take Yoga Bootcamp with Jane because her energy is so upbeat and genuine, and Meghan’s Sunday evening candlelight yoga is basically therapy — it’s become my ritual to close out the weekend. (As well as a lot of other students’ rituals so it almost always sells out! Book early!)
I’ve also taken some of the power vinyasa classes with Rose and she does really fun and creative sequencing.
I’ve tried Trilogy, Pilates, and Barre too and they wiped me out lol. Those seem to be higher-intensity classes than Bootcamp in my experience. (Or maybe I just take a lot of breaks in Bootcamp ?)
Katy, the owner, is great too. She’s created a really accessible, down-to-earth vibe at this studio and I’m really happy to support this business.
I think there’s a variety of classes for most ages and abilities here. The demo probably skews a little younger in the high-intensity classes (20s-30s) and a little older in the lower intensity classes, and I like that there’s a mix.
Highly recommend this studio!“

2849 Webster St, Oakland“Immense gratitude for Goddess Ashley of The Yoni Day Spa. What started out as an inquiry on her products turned into a 1-hour one on one wellness session. Our Queen sister had no intention on selling me anything but to sincerely pour into me. Ashley thank you for reminding me to take care of ME. To prioritize my mental and physical health. This was a testament to that quality of your character and your products. After our call a literal weight was lifted off my shoulders. Peace and abundant blessings to you and wishing BIG success in all that you do. I can’t wait to try your products ✨??“

2940 Summit St #2b, Oakland“She is a fully fledged Ayurvedic practitioner who later procured her LAc (acupuncture license), on top of her existing depth of anatomy-focused training as an Iyengar yoga teacher. I've found that her level of articulation for both internal organ health and musculoskeletal wellness, and how the two relate, lend themselves to uniquely comprehensive and effective treatment plans. Jessie is firmly in the tier of “practitioner’s practitioner.” She aims to give her clients as much as they can actionably take on in a given session, and not more, so progress is gradual, but also steady and measurable. Can't recommend her enough!“
