Each step was as easy as possible. The price was fair. The workers were great. Even when we had a setback—no one’s fault—they immediately helped overcome it and we got the project completed. The installers were very efficient and helpful throughout. I must say we used them without other estimates based on their estimates on our air conditioning before and from service to estimates to installation it was a great process. “I had two separate HVAC companies out to diagnose our furnace and both were declaring it dead when they saw how old it was (1998). I then started collecting quotes from 3 more companies thinking that I need to replace our HVAC system. One of the companies happened to be Airmaxx. When Alex (from Airmaxx) came, he started asking questions regarding the symptoms and he immediately said that it might be a blocked vent based on what I described and his 30 seconds assessment after I turned it on (would shut it self off within a few minutes). Fast forward, it turned out that the roof vent was knocked over and blocked (had solar installed this summer which was an absolute disaster but that's another story ....) .Conclusion, call Airmaxx and ask for Alex if you need an expert who doesn't try and rip you off.And Yes, I do know that I eventually need to replace the HVAC one day but if I can get a few more years out of my old system, I take it!“

“We had Sean come out and give us a quote on a mini split system for our office, once we signed he set a date and the guys were there for an install within a couple of weeks. Once summer hit my new unit had an issue I called Sean and he immediately had Joel aka the wolf and Jeff out to fix the issue. Between Joel and Jeff they decided it was best to get rid of the unit I had and actually upgrade me to something better, at no cost. Joel Jeff and Enrique came out and reinstalled the better unit and we were good to go. Ownership should be super proud of their crew. I can’t say enough good things about how well these guys worked around my schedule, my office, our staff, and our tenants in the other part of our building. Thank you Sean, Joel, Enrique and Jeff.“

“I couldn't be happier with the level of professionalism, attention to detail in every aspect of diagnosing my 2 heaters(wall heater & central heater) It started out with my original phone call and talking to the owner Jason about fixing my wall heater only after SDG&E left me minutes prior to this phone call with a laundry list of what needed to be fixed on this old unit on the wall. Jason said no problem, we'll be out tomorrow to fix those needs. Rafael J. was sent, and what a blessing he was. So, as it goes he brought his A+ game to service the wall heater and that alone I was impressed with. He took pictures of the internal unit, pictures of the vent on top of the house proved to me it was irreparable. I needed a new one. The vent in the wall was collapsed to vent the carbon monoxide, but even if we fix the vent the rust in the heating exchanger had pin holes. Case closed it needed to be replaced.Moving to the central heating system and while he was here I said," do you want to look at the 40 year old Central heater too? Without hesitation he said yes. I also needed a new central heating system due to the gas leaking internally that I was unaware of. If I didn't ask him while he was walking out the front door to take a peek at this, I could have lost my life, the house the animals. I didn't call for this one to be serviced but by the grace of God I asked him to look at my antique heater. I tell you. I couldn't be happier, and I'm having them come back tomorrow and replace both. Thank you, Jason, Amanda & Rafael for coming to my rescue and perhaps preventing a disastrous situation.“

“A bit of background. We had central A/C installed by a different company about 7 years ago. All was fine until during a hot spell, the electrostatic filter was repeatedly clicking (much more than usual) and the A/C seemed to be switching off prematurely. We called 3 A/C companies, and even though my husband is 84 and I am very heat-sensitive, they all gave us a 3 day wait for an urgent appointment.We have used H&S in the past to install a mini-split in our kitchen, and they did a great job, but this episode was a problem with our central air-conditioning. We didn't know whether they would be interested in a bigger system, as this is a family-owned business, and the owner does most jobs solo, with an occasional helper. We should have called them first!Heidi answered our call, and after a bit of telephone tag, she arranged for Tony to come out the next day. He assessed our problem quickly, but he needed a new circuit board for our furnace in order to fix the problem. He came back less than 24 hours later to replace it. Following the repair, we had 24 hours of cooling bliss, then the clicking started again, so we turned the A/C off and left a message on a Sunday for Heidi. Early the next morning, she called to arrange for Tony to come back. It turned out that we had a blocked condensation drain. Thirty minutes later, it was solved and everything has run perfectly for over a month now.A couple of afterthoughts. Tony and Heidi did not charge us for the second callout and final fix, even though it took time and they had to use extra equipment and parts. They are very honest and honorable. Also, even though they are a small company, they can take on pretty sizable jobs - our home is 3,000 sq feet, and there was no problem in getting rapid service and a great product. Finally, they are not the cheapest, but neither are they the most expensive. However, they are definitely the most responsive people. The kind of people that you would love to have as your neighbors and friends.We won't hesitate to use H&S again. When we need to switch to a heat pump, Tony and Heidi will be the first people that we call.“

“Pacific was recommended by the contractor that originally installed our HVAC units, but has since retired. I knew he would point me in the right direction and he did! I e-mailed Pacific Refrigeration late in the day with the make & model number of our Rheem HVAC unit, explained the issue and let them know that it's not an emergency, just send a tech when one is in our neighborhood. The next morning we got a call stating a tech could be here in an hour, so I stated that would work. Within the hour, Dean showed up ready to work. He quickly diagnosed the problem as a bad relay switch and that he had one with him. In no time at all, he had the new relay installed, the unit buttoned back up and was complete. Dean was very professional, courteous and diligent. After such a positive experience, I would highly recommend Pacific Refrigeration.“

I will be using them again soon to install an attic fan and possibly redo some ducting. I say possibly because they didn't automatically upsell me on ducting like the others did. Five Star inspected my attic and didn't recommend new ducting unless I insisted. It's nice to do business with friendly, honest people.“
