I even offered to pay him for his time and long drive, and he refused.

He was also incredibly knowledgeable about our older HVAC system and caught an issue with advice we had received from another company that could potentially have damaged our exterior unit. He clearly knows his craft and, more importantly, puts the customer's interests first.
