I really can not say enough good things about this shop!! My husband and I took our son here for a hair cut this morning and it was an awesome experience. I'm so sorry I didn't get the name of the barber but he was so understand of our son having sensory issues. We will be back for sure.

I’ve waited two years just growing my hair out not knowing what to do with it and heard of this place from my girlfriend and her mom. NEVER LOOKING BACK! I love that Roanoke has a barbershop that is welcoming, professional and truly a place for all people. The place is tiny but it's clean, well appointed, and everyone is really nice. Este did a fantastic job with my hair.
My step son is extremely picky about who does his hair. We couldn't find a barber in Roanoke or the surrounding areas that met my stepsons expectations.....until Hollins Barbershop! Mike cut his hair the first time and my step son will NOT go anywhere else now! They have another lifetime customer! They are good people. They seem to like their job. Great price for a hair cut ($20 plus a friendly tip of course). They are polite and friendly. They get the job done right!

This was one of the best experiences I have ever had in my life. She found out from one of my friends and bridesmaid’s who was getting her hair done that I needed my nails done for my wedding and had planned to go to the mall as a walk-in. She offered without hesitation and I couldn’t believe the experience. I felt like I was in a high luxury spa and she brought all that to me. I was surrounded by love on one of the best days of my life and treated like a queen by this incredibly professional and skilled woman. I will recommend this experience to every bride and woman I know. She even offered her services to my bridal party just in case they needed someone thing last minute. She was kind and considerate and conversational. She knew I was nervous about getting my nails done professionally and talked me through the steps. She also has the ability to adapt to the personality of the client. Southwest nails is my go to nail salon in the area! They are always punctual, efficient, and my nails have been perfect every time. I have come in several times with nails that are in need of rescuing and far overdue, but they are always kind and do such a great job. When I chipped a nail a few days after getting them done, they got me back in immediately to fix it no questions asked. While they are appointment only, it’s easy to get an appointment same day if needed, and I appreciate they’re so well organized with their appointments that you never walk in only end up waiting far past your scheduled time. Tools and equipment is always clean, and every nail tech I’ve had there has been equally and wonderfully skilled!
Being new to the Roanoke area I was a little unsure of where to go and get my nails and toes done. After trying many different nail salons, I finally found the perfect fit.
LA Nails is a place that not only has a fun and caring staff, but they are all fabulous at doing great nails and pedicures. If you are looking for acrylic nails Taylor is awesome! I am a first-time acrylic nails wearer…At least I was back in October. I was scared to death to get them done, but after going through menopause, my nails are very brittle, soft, bendable, etc. I felt like this was a good choice for me to try this. The two workers (owners!) at TLC Nails are wonderful! They put me at ease from the very beginning about trying this new process. They were very friendly and kind, and the salon is very clean. After the acrylics were put on, I didn’t even recognize my own nails…they were gorgeous! I feel that my hands themselves look much more attractive . Through the weeks that I’ve been having them continually done by TLC Nails, they have been able to grow out and of course, remain much stronger with the protection that has been put on them. The salon has a great many colors to choose from, and so many services that you can have done. Ginny has an extraordinary talent for nail art, from the wild and one-of-a-kind, to your every day painted nails with simple designs. I am thrilled with this place, and will continue to return.

I love Naturoils products. I used the Clean Cat, Rose Water, Orange Vanilla Soap, Charcoal Peppermint Detox Soap, Healthy Hair Growth oil, and the Sleepy Time Herb Infused Aromatherapy Roll on. All of these products are great. The sleepy time I used on my son and it definitely helped him with falling asleep at night.
I always go for my pedi but I HIGHLY recommend upgrading to the warm honey hydration pedi. Yes it is more but it is worth every penny!!! It left my feet feeling so soft. Always an amazing time!

I've gotten both of my recent tattoos done by Tay Tay here, but both of them have been absolutely amazing. My memorial tat for my grandfather has healed amazing and looks amazing. And the linework for my newest personal piece is clean and easy. Can't wait for the shading and color to really bring it to life. Everybody here at the Shop is great, super friendly and talented beyond belief. Definitely making this the shop I go to for all future tats.

Went in to get my earlobes pierced. I was nervous but Janelle did a wonderful job! It was quick and the pain wasn’t too bad. They know what they’re doing and pierce with a needle instead of using a piercing gun. The shop is kept clean and the staff is knowledgeable. I was very happy with the experience and would definitely come back if I want more piercings!
Roger did an amazing job reworking a tattoo that I was unhappy with. He took something I was ashamed of and made it into something I couldn't wait to show off. And he's much nicer than I expected :)

Ted and his guys helped me install my gas firepit. I planned to do some of the work myself, which he helped me to plan. He lined up the gas company to upgrade my meter and came out and finalized the installation. Very prompt, good communication and willing to help! Couldn't ask for more!
Removed plumbing for new countertops and reinstalled plumbing and disposal afterwards. Mike immediately recognized that Home Depot had not included longer drain adopts when going from stainless steel sink to solid surface which is thicker. He ordered and installed. Very pleased with quality and service. Highly recommend Mike and his son for all your needs
In January, Jim and Ron replaced two toilets in my home. They were on time, polite, had very reasonable prices and did excellent work.
I had them return in July to completely remodel my master bath - from demolition to shower & floor tile installation and plumbing fixtures. Stellar work, including beautiful tiling. I highly recommend them - and will use Eades again!
I had an after-hours crisis….water leaking from a pipe in crawl space. I called Kennard Pace and Tyler came out and made the necessary repairs. He was so very kind and patient explaining what happened to cause the leak and what he did to repair it. I was so relieved thanks to their very timely response!!

After an electrician cancelled on us three times I reached out to Facebook for suggestions from friends. Chris came highly recommended. I gave him a call and he came out quickly and did an estimate. It was a VERY reasonable estimate. We had gotten several quotes before choosing the person that cancelled three times and his quote was great! He was able to come out very quickly to do the work and he did an EXCELLENT job. We are so pleased! I also appreciated how well he cleaned up after doing the work (installing fans in the bathroom and putting in new light fixtures in the bathroom and kitchen). I will definitely be calling him again for more work and recommended him to others for work as well!!

Called them in a time of high stress after finding out the costs involved with getting keys made for a vehicle after all of them have been lost. Damien explained what I needed to do and talked me through the process. Very professional young man who helped me a ton. The key he cut worked but my truck needed further programming and he helped me with getting that taken care of by referring a mobile service as I lived too far away to bring the truck to them. That company was great and I cannot thank you guys enough for helping me through this time of stress!
They did an amazing job on my carpets. I had one issue and Robert came out personally to take a look and had them redone. They still look great 2 months later. I highly recommend them. Great with carpets and great customer service!

This is the second time that I have used this contractor. He did my bathroom remodel in 2024 and my kitchen remodel this month. From start to finish, you know what to expect, no hidden charges. He goes over and above to satisfied. He doesn’t take shortcuts and he makes sure that “it’s done right.” I love my new kitchen.
F&S Building has completed 3 different jobs at my home. All 3 jobs were completed in a timely manner. We had a BIG addition and I mean BIG addition added to the back of our home. I didn't even get estimates on the other 2 jobs because I knew their work was outstanding and I would be treated with the upmost respect and no short cuts would be taken. The second job was removing 50 year old iron rail & about an 8 inch high concrete wall that held the rail around my basement steps. New concrete with rebar and rail placed and it looks beautiful! The third job was replacing about 40 feet of drain pipe under concrete in basement (old cast iron pipe, I guess) 90% stopped up from wash machine and kitchen. I wanted NEW pipe installed so they had to cut concrete floor. I actually placed clear plastic drop cloth myself to keep dust down before job was started. I am sure F&S would have done this but I am VERY picky, used staple gun and about 10,000 staples, it worked!! I had three different project managers and I had a ball working with them! However I really want to recognize Kent Clark as he was the gentleman that gave me the estimates and he was first class in every way. I called him Superman occasionally , you know Clark Kent, he just laughed!! Remember ONE thing, YOU PAY FOR WHAT YOU GET!!!

In May of 2025 we returned from a trip to find our home flooded by a water leak. Our insurance carrier recommended Virginia Building Services to be the contractor to repair our home.
After the necessary cleanup and demolition was done, the estimation of the cost of the repair was started. VBS responded promptly in June 2025 with an estimate by Jay Schwab covering the repairs, but there were delays in the response of our insurance carrier that prevented repairs from starting.
We had some changes that we wished to make to our home. We worked with Derek Law from VBS to redesign our kitchen to increase counter space and add an island. Derek created a complete design which did everything we wanted to improve our kitchen. He also designed a cabinet/bookcase for the basement which included the granite from our original kitchen and used the last of the granite for a new countertop in the basement bath. His work was indispensable in the design process.
The VBS team of Jeff Austin, Tyler and Estefan were the primary workers who got the job done. Other subcontractors were used for electrical, plumbing and painting, and their skills and experience were evident in the quality of their work.
Starting at the beginning of February 2026 when Jeff was assigned to the project and materials were available, VBS completed the renovation by March 26, 2026, which was the date we told him the work had to be done. Without Jeff's leadership the renovation could have dragged on much longer.
The VBS team also saved us some of the cost of the renovation by suggesting changes that lowered the cost but maintained the quality of the renovation work.
We would give VBS a solid A- for their efforts. The downside in a big construction project like this turned out to be were the delays in getting materials and the delays in the rationalization of the two estimates between VBS and our insurance carrier.
The installation solved my foundation problem. The system is worth the price and I have it checked every other year. Because it is adjustable, I'm not concerned about future issues. Ram Jack is thoroughly professional.
Hired Blue Ridge for a remodeling job that came out great. We are happy with all the work they did.
Aaron & Justin are hard working, fairly priced, honest and very skilled at fence building. I am very happy with the work they did and highly recommend them!

Dustin came out today for the quarterly service. He was so polite and helpful. I had a cicada stuck inside my porch light making a horrible noise, and he volunteered to get it out for me. Then he knocked down all the spider webs around my house. He followed up with a treatment all around the outside of the house. Star City Pest hires the nicest people, even the person who answers the phone. And I never see bugs in my house!

I called and THE SAME DAY Barry came to my home. There was a concern about mice because my house had been vacant. He came!! He did an inspection, outside, inside, downstairs, and the attic!! He was honest and wasn't out to collect big $$!! I'm willing to say the mice ran away because Brown Exterminating came to the scene!! He placed traps and NOT A SINGLE MOUSE has hit the trap!! I wish I could remember the name of the technician. He went above and beyond. I called for an inspection of our living room fireplace after having multiple wasps come into the house. Upon visual inspection, there was no sign of a nest. The best guess was that the wasps were coming down the chimney to get out of the cold and coming through the large openings around our damper which would not close properly. The technician took the time to clear out the copious amount of debris that was preventing the damper from closing (it was gross!). He then closed up the damper and cleaned up the fireplace - and CHARGED NOTHING! There have been no more wasps in out living room. I was so blessed by this dear man and will definitely call Superior for any future extermination needs.Services: Hornet & wasp extermination

We had an excellent experience from start to finish on a backyard patio, deck and hot tub pad with Roanoke Landscapes. Randy’s help with initial planning and estimating to choosing materials, followed by the expert installation by Jesus and the crew were stellar. Site preparation and laying of the pavers was detailed and exacting. They finished the project by restoring disturbed lawn and mulch beds. We highly recommend them for your next landscape project.
Chucks guys did an outstanding job aerating my lawn. They took special care to aerate by hand the areas their machine could not reach. They also spent extra time on the areas of my lawn that had been damaged by grubs. Absolutely professionals.
They can do a little of everything. They grinded and removed some tree stumps. Cut back all my shrubbery and put a pile of mulch down. They did a great job.

I had a 75 foot tree with many unhealthy issues!! MIB came in with equipment I'd never seen b4, set up, took it down, ground it up and did a great clean up. I was very please with their work. A former co-worker recommended MIB, they did an amazing job. If you need a tree dropped, don't hesitate to call these guys. Thanks a bunch guys!! My only complaint was the ground crew left their trash - water and soda bottles, drink cups, etc. in my yard for me to clean up. I was leas than amused. Two big blue trash cans was at their disposal.
I am very pleased with the work performed recently by the crew of Camouflage Tree Experts, Inc., in removing some limbs hanging over the garage, and cutting out the smaller dead branches throughout the tree. The limbs, branches, and debris were shredded, and the area was cleaned up before they left the property. I used this company many years ago to remove a large tree, and am so glad they are still in business.
Brown Hound removed my large tree from a complicated location in 12/25. Their price was the best of three estimates, they were prompt, polite, efficient and left no mess...everything you want in service.

We have a huge oak tree very close to our house that needed trimming – Adam was able to come out and evaluate the property within a couple of weeks, and he was friendly and knowledgable! The quote was probably a little higher than average price-wise, but they were responsive and easy to schedule (VS some other local companies who never seemed to pick up the phone or follow up)
The trimming only took half a day, and the crew was very thorough in making sure that nothing got damaged and that the site was left cleaner than they found it. I could tell they cared as much about the health of our tree as we do!
Hired Greg to cut a huge 30' branch of a tree that was still connected and hanging precariously over my back fence. I would have said 2 men with a rope, ladder, and a chainsaw couldn't do it...but Dee is amazing and does the impossible! They also took out another tree and trimmed 4 others along a side fence. Greg called and came out to provide quote within 24 hours. They underpromise and overdeliver. Cost is quite reasonable. I was more than pleased! Now I look out my window and am grateful. thanks Greg and Dee!!!
8/01/22 – Valley Tree was referred to me by one of their satisfied customers. Brad Gibson responded promptly to my inquiry for tree removal and met me at my in-town residence. He provided a detailed and competitive cost estimate for removing two-130 foot black cherry trees. Brad provided an estimated time frame for completion of the tree removal in addition to a phone call update. His crew, Joe, Jay, and Chris, arrived at the stated time/date with their equipment and completed the removal of both large trees promptly and professionally! This crew removed the front Black Cherry tree without damage to the adjacent giant Dogwood and Magnolia tree. I commend Brad and the tree crew for a keen knowledge of their craft and high quality of work!

She was patient with us, validated our concerns, and kind to the animal. She’s a natural educator and I am so grateful for her willingness to help.
Martin did several jobs for me, I noticed when he was on his backhoe he worked very methodically. Martin also did concrete work for me, poured slab to extend my carport and by the walkout basement door; he also put a new sewer line in for me for a much lower price than who I ordinally was going to use. Cut down about 7 trees in my back yard.
From Jay's in-person assessment of the trees to the crew who did the work, Jay's Tree Service is knowledgeable, highly skilled, and professional. Jay heard our requests, provided his expertise, and created a plan for tree removal and pruning/thinning that was good for the trees and us! He is knowledgeable about home insurance requirements regarding limb heights from rooflines, how to prune to maintain the health, strength, and beauty of the tree. The cleanup was amazing and they filled the inevitable dent in the ground that occurred when the big dead Ash was felled. (Small dent). No leaves, branches, or twigs were left. I highly recommend Jay's Tree Service!

Been getting our teeth cleaned twice a year, which has been covered by Dental delta for the last couple of years until our last visit. With no advance warning, we received a bill for over $120.00 for the last cleaning. Called the office and was told they no longer accept our Delta Insurance. While they reduced the bill by 50%, it would have be nice if told of the change before hand. If known beforehand, would of found another dental office that accepts our insurance.
Edit-11/13/2025- received a call this morning apologizing on the lack of notice on the Delta Insurance change and issued a reimbursement for the charge. Was told that they do accept Delta Premier, but the fed delta plan does not provide that level and going directly to Delta is cost prohibitive for us. Was hoping to be able to get back to Dr Tates practice, which is great for the services provided, thus changed our rating to 5 stars.

Not only have I found some relief from the pain in my left lower leg, that I have had for over six months due to lower back surgery, I have been blessed to be able to meet some of the most friendly and knowledgeable staff. These people have been our vet for 8 years, starting with a desperate call from me at a horrible hour of the morning. Dr. Preston figured out what was wrong with our cat when 3 other vets couldn't, and saved our fur baby's life! I believe they gave all our cats many more happy years than any other vet could have, and everyone there cared for them with more compassion and love than any other vet I've ever been to. We have no more fur babies now, but if we ever have more, these people will be our vet. I can't say enough good things about them.

This vet office has been super professional and awesome every time they have seen one of my animals. I have not been happy with some vets before but the vets here only recommend what they need to diagnose any problems, vaccines and preventative to keep my animals healthy, and treatment that is needed. They are extremely compassionate and listen to my concerns and answer my questions in a way i can understand. They have always worked with me on my budget, which can be very tight at times. Their prices are awesome and extremely reasonable compared to other vets that I have seen. They are definitely the vet office to go to!!

Update 12/5/25- they have seen my animals and 2 have went over the rainbow bridge under their care....nothing to do with the vet, but all due to old age and ailments from that. Their care has always been kind and compassionate and I know they care for my babies as much as I do.
I could not be happier with my experience with Ironsides. Dr. Varnell came to my farm within 2 hours of my first call for an emergency with my goat, Phillip. She was quick, knowledgeable, and caring. Phillip made a full recovery! This is a fantastic vet service for our small, backyard hobby farm.
They are very good with my very difficult and slightly aggressive dog and prices are reasonable. They also have both male and female vets (important for me because dog doesn't like men). Great place either kind understanding staff.

Holly helped Lyla learn valuable driving skills while being extremely patient, professional, and encouraging, and they created a positive learning environment that really helped her feel comfortable behind the wheel. As an overprotective mom, I felt a whole lot calmer and I was more confident in Lyla's driving abilities once it was time for her to be on the roads all by herself . I would absolutely recommend Aim High Driving School to other parents looking for quality driver education for their children.
I did the driving portion with Miss Shirley and I would definitely recommend ??? she’s a great teacher and I’ll always be grateful for her. Both drive this ways are amazing and the one in Roanoke is good as well because I took the class room part for my permit
