I walked through those doors with chronically dehydrated hair and really had no idea how to properly care for my curls. I dreaded wash days and viewed my hair more as a nuisance than an attribute.
Three years later and my relationship with my hair has totally blossomed. I now look forward to wash days, I understand my hair now and how it behaves, and I absolutely adore my curls! I was with tandem vet for a little under 2 years when I got orders to move to hawaii. Well hawaii regulations are apparently very strict on the paperwork required to bring a pet (they need original rabies certificates signed in blue ink). Driving out of state after shipping my car I found this requirement. I called them and they worked with me and went out of their way to get the paperwork mailed overnight to me. Without this I would have had to postpone my flight or had my dog quarantined in hawaii on arival. I want to thank Carie and the rest of the team for their support.

She had me laughing and another longterm client cracking up the whole time and I felt like I was just chopping it up with my neighbors- great vibe. I reached out to Lindsay Griffin after my previous salon suddenly removed my disability accommodation. Many people recommended this salon, specifically Jessica, as kind and great at what she does.
When I first reached out, Jessica was clear about what she could do in regards to the accommodation I needed. I felt immediately comfortable because she had clearly thought through the whole situation and wanted to make sure I was as safe as possible.
Being safe is so important, and I definitely felt safe with Jessica. But as an added bonus, she was so kind and easy to talk to, and wow, she gave me one of the best cut and colors I've ever gotten. I have super thick, curly hair and she clearly is a pro with curls. My only regret is that I didn't switch over here sooner. I've been getting so many compliments and I'm happy with my hair for the first time in years.
She was also super gentle with my head, and made sure I was physically comfortable (warm enough, not thirsty, etc.) I really can't recommend this salon, and Jessica, more. Thanks so much!
Ann Marie is a gem. Prob the cheapest haircut in the greater Boston area and she does a decent job. $16 for senior citizens and $18 for men. Super friendly and this sort of old school charm, warmth and service is hard to find these days. She’s been around since 1983 and runs the shop with her sister Natalie. Cash only.

This place is great, best haircut I've had since the pandemic. My regular barber fell off so, I started cutting my hair myself, nothing beats that professional haircut feeling though. I speak minimal Spanish, so there was a language barrier, but the barber I had gave me the exact cut that I wanted, lineup perfection and didn't push back my hairline. Great spot! I took a chance, I'm not from Boston, New York is where I came from. So nice to know when I come to Boston, there's a spot I know I can go to if I.need a solid cut.
This place is open more than any other shop. Works very well with my busy schedule. I also typically have a hard time finding people that do my hair haircut correctly. here I get a consistently good, cut exactly what I asked for with good attention to detail.

I randomly stumbled upon them as a desperate attempt to find someone to fix my hair’s color right before I had to leave on an international trip. I’m a natural brunette and accidentally turned into a… purple/grey haired lady when I added highlights to my hair and toned incorrectly. Before and after photos are attached. I am BEYOND IMPRESSED with this color correction. Michelle was able to turn me back into a brunette with the depth I was looking for when I had initially attempted to change my hair color. Genuinely, the amount of talent it takes to turn an ashy purple blonde into an auburn/brunette with coppery highlights is immense and I’m incredibly incredibly grateful. I walked in crying and left with the hugest smile. I’ll definitely be back.

Green Tech came for an emergency with a leaky shower-it was quoted and fixed at same time. The positive is he came at end of day for the emergency and didn’t leavr till complete. And he also noticed out sink was leaking- he fixed that as well. Did not leave till after 7pm. We are grateful for Green Tech. Steve is outstanding.

I can’t recommend Hector and his team at Drain Doctor enough. I needed a second opinion at the last minute after another company gave me an expensive recommendation that didn’t sit right with me. Hector came out quickly, thoroughly inspected the issue, and was honest from the start.

Truly a life-changing experience. After years of dental anxiety and avoidance, including some negative dental experiences elsewhere in Somerville, I was able to schedule an appointment with Dr. Wagner at the recommendation of a friend. I was treated kindly by all staff, given support to help me relax, and not judged for getting emotional.
Dr. Wagner, Brittany, and Jayme all made me feel welcome. I learned a lot about teeth and mouths, because Dr. Wagner and Brittany both explained everything they were doing, shared fun facts, and answered all my questions. They also have a wonderful x-ray machine that's portable (called a Nomad) that makes the x-ray process significantly easier and faster - and I'm someone who has struggled with dental x-rays my entire life. (Brittany is a wizard!)
Turns out, my teeth are doing great, but I never would have known if I hadn't worked through my dental anxiety at such a wonderful office. I got wonderful advice for improving my dental routines, and practical suggestions of products that would help me, and that were unnecessary purchases. I didn't feel nearly as anxious as I'd anticipated during the appointment, and I walked away feeling genuinely excited to go back for the follow-up cleaning we scheduled at the end.

I am in the midst of a very detailed procedure, so I've had many appts. And knock on wood I've had no problems. The Doctor (Dr. Sweeny) has been amazing. He patiently explains in detail everything he'll be doing, makes sure I'm okay w it all, and is just a kind person. Plus the work he's done so far has been great.
I have been a patient here for the past ten months and they have helped me through a very painful injury and prevented probably many more!
Dr Rob is the best and we have learned so much from him during our treatment sessions. He prevented and helped reverse my daughter’s fallen arches. He has also helped modify her rigorous sports training schedule to prevent injury and burnout and to provide proper rest during growth spurts. He has taught her key stretches to prevent constriction of muscles and fascia. My daughter is pain free, has more energy and is she growing like crazy. She loves his adjustments when she has an injury or when she has tightness.
I have been in severe lower back pain for >10 years and my tailbone felt like it was a stabbing hot poker for the past 3 years. I've had injections, acupuncture, traditional chiropractic, deep muscle massage, months of physical therapy. No relief! I saw the Lifeworks FB ad and made an appointment. After the consultation, he found my tailbone pain was caused in my neck; it's now just a low ache. As for my lower back, after ONE shockwave treatment, I was able to walk a mile without stopping and complete my laundry and cleaning without stopping or muscle spasms! Today was my 2nd treatment. This is the best vet in the state of MA. I made sure to find fear-free certified vets, and that’s how I found Dr. Hummer. My dog (6 yo, spayed, mix, rescue) is terrified of going to the vet, and Dr. Hummer played with her and got to know her before he started his exam. You actually couldn’t tell that he was examining her because he was so gentle and loving towards my dog. This vet answers all my questions and is always a joy to see. My girl loves the vet now!!
It was my first time here and I didn't know what to expect [since I recently moved to Boston with my pup]. However, everyone was very kind and professional.
The front desk was patient with my pup [who was a little nervous, as is the case with going to a new vet] and offered her treats to calm her down.
I loved how gentle and loving Dr. English was to my pup. Luna [my pup] was a little nervous initially, but Dr. English took the extra time to play with her [belly rubs work every time..haha] and make her comfortable and then did a thorough evaluation.
Unlike many places where the vet rushes you, Dr. English showed a lot of patience and took the time to ensure that all my questions about Luna were answered; so, I could leave with the peace of mind. You can see that Dr. English really cares about your pets [and animals]!!
Logistics and Pricing: Booking the appointment over the phone was very convenient and when I arrived, there was no wait time. The prices for the normal vet visit and the vaccines were also very reasonable.

Lisa is like a therapist and yoga instructor wrapped into one. I started going to her classes almost 2 years ago and she pushed all the right buttons. She has a very calming yet informative style of teaching. My mental state and pliability has improved dramatically and she gains students for life. As a Pilates teacher and practitioner who runs a small business, it was wonderful to experience a different modality of movement expertly guided by Maegan that focused on stress relief and gentle movement. As a movement professional who works with many folks who need more spinal movement, ribcage mobility via breath work, and balance work, I especially loved that Maegan applied her physical therapy lens to the Yoga class and provided a lot of those things that everyone needs. Highly recommend!

Marcus has been a god send, as dramatic as it sounds. Both my body and mind feel rejuvenated and so relaxed after a session. So knowledgeable and informative and recommends how to take care of my body between sessions, other methods of pain management to try, etc. The space is warm and inviting, the vibes kind and welcoming— we always share great chat and a laugh but also moments of silence and deep rest. I could go on and on… you just gotta go experience it for yourself, and I promise you won’t regret it!

Cat, the proprietor and masseus, is a godsend. I get theraputic massages with her to alleviate some serious damage that using my hands/arms/wrists for all my work and hobbies causes to them as well as my shoulders, back, etc. Her massages alleviate the pain and restore mobility for me. She is also just super friendly, knowledgable, and professional. She has given me advice on stretches and other self-care techniques that help in between visits. The space is also relaxing, clean, lovely, and conveniently located. The larger space that Sans Stress is in, Davis Square Healing Arts, also has practitioners of other therapies that she can recommend. Cat is also incredibly accepting of and professional with *all* body types, including being queer and trans friendly.
Just had my first massage from John Jay. He has great hands, strong but gentle. Asks for feedback about amount of pressure and adjusts quickly. Listens well. Did a great job loosening up a badly knotted neck! A really nice person - warm and relaxed.

Really amazing experience, Daphne is incredibly knowledgeable and welcoming. I felt right at home. I came tired, with an acute pain in my shoulder and a massive headache. I woke up the next day with my energy fully returned and my pain was gone. I am very grateful for this and would recommend Open Space community acupuncture to anyone!
I'm so happy to live close to this excellent practice! I had a tension headache and extremely tight calves (third trimester) and Estella sorted me out perfectly. She is an incredibly skilled acupuncturist, and I couldn't recommend her enough.
When I'm cleared for it, I will also be trying our their other services (like microneedling).
I went to Dr. Johnny about 2 weeks before my marathon panicking with hip pain and he made me feel so heard and knew exactly how to help - I really appreciated how we problem solved together and he validated the way I was feeling but also made me feel confident that I’d be okay to run!! With his exercises and tips I finished the marathon strong and hip pain free!! I went back for the massage after the marathon and he, again, helped SO much with the lingering soreness and stiffness. Could not recommend him enough!!
Jasmine is an excellent practitioner. She cares about her patients, makes them feel comfortable, and approaches each session with thought. Her space is professional, welcoming, and importantly organized and clean. I have never met a better and more impactful acupuncture clinician! 5 stars, highly recommend.

I'd been having terrible back pain for three months related to tight muscles. My physical therapist and massage people are great, but I needed more.
After the first couple sessions I felt a lot less pain, but the third was even more transformational: a muscle that had been completely locked up for months was released! It was a weird feeling, but really good.
Cathy is very relaxed and easy to deal with as a person. She clearly cares a lot about her clients.
After years of not thinking about finding a new acupuncturist, I finally decided and met Fannie. The treatment is golden from first point of contact through each of the needles she placed before relieving my stressed joints of their aches. Looking forward getting back in her care.
