About Porter Square Veterinarian
Porter Square Veterinarian has been caring for animals for many years. The vet and staff are seen as kind and compassionate by many clients. They are known for offering same-day appointments for urgent situations. Clients appreciate how easy it is to make appointments and ask health questions via text, even with pictures. The facilities are clean and pleasant, and the staff are very organized and helpful. Many clients have been using the clinic for decades and speak highly of Dr. Johnson and Dr. Murphy, describing them as kind, patient, and thorough.
While the clinic is praised for its veterinary care, some clients have reported concerns with ear cleanings and claw trims. One client mentioned their cat became deaf after an ear cleaning, and another described a claw trim that resulted in a severely injured paw. The staff initially did not acknowledge the injury but said it was normal. Overall, Porter Square Veterinarian is well-regarded, but clients should be aware of these potential issues.
Cat Mom here to say that I have had wonderful experiences with all vets and vet techs at Porter Sq. vet. Emily English and Andrea Moderi are especially amazing in my opinion. Very down to earth, smart and thorough. Emily English has a nice moderate approach to treatment and lifestyle adjustments for cats. Can't say enough good things. Some ppl say they are expensive, but I don't see them as being more expensive than other local options. Margaux (best cat ever, age 11, but always a baby) has been going there for years for regular checkups and dental surgeries.
Went for my first visit today and everyone was amazing and really pleasant to interact with. Front staff was great and genuinely cared about my cat, my vet and the tech also were really gentle with my cat and handled her really well.
PSV did a great job taking care of our guinea pig over multiple visits, including eventual euthanization. They explained everything, were compassionate, and handled the whole process with sensitivity. Unfortunately, they appear to have stopped taking guinea pigs, as we found out the hard way when we tried to make an appointment for our second one today (the only help offered was a list of emergency clinics). Really disappointed that we won't be able to use PSV any more.
