She took me from not being able to swim one lap to doing a 1/2 marathon in 18 months. Again today, I told my coach I’ve been out for a few days from lifting because I pulled a muscle in my back. Christie immediately pointed out what exercises might cause an issue and gave me modifications. She was spot on and the modifications helped immensely. The coaches are all so knowledgeable and helpful. ❤️”

Christina does an amazing job with the weekday classes, mixing up different activities so every workout stays fresh and engaging. Her programming delivers a true full-body workout and never feels repetitive. Justin leads the popular Saturday morning class, which has a kickboxing theme and is hands down one of my favorite workouts of the week. It’s high-energy, intense, and a great mix of cardio and strength — no surprise it’s one of the most attended classes.<br><br>Both trainers are knowledgeable, encouraging, and genuinely invested in helping everyone improve, regardless of fitness level. The gym has a welcoming, supportive atmosphere that makes it easy to stay consistent. “My 5-year-old daughter has been attending classes here, and I’m genuinely impressed with how well the instructors treat the kids. This is a true family-run school, and you can feel the balance between discipline, kindness, and motivation in every class.<br><br>In just the first month, my daughter made strong progress — both in technique and in confidence. The instructors know how to keep kids focused while still making the training enjoyable. “In 2022, some newly diagnosed health issues triggered a series of surgeries and complications which severely limited most of my physical activity for eight months. When I was ready to resume exercise, I knew I needed help, although I have my own well-equipped home gym. RF has not only helped me get back to a base level of fitness, I have exceeded previous personal benchmarks. I do a lot of bicycling in the summer, and thanks to Sean and his team, I felt stronger on the hills last summer than I had in over ten years, despite having missed the entire previous cycling season. Even though the workouts are in a small group setting, my sessions are tailored to address my unique capabilities and limitations. The workouts are designed to be challenging and varied, while carefully crafted to limit the possibility of injury and potential setback. I have enjoyed doing and learning a lot of exercises I have never previously done, and I appreciate Sean’s attention to the importance of flexibility, in addition to strength. To that end, I have also benefitted greatly by supplementing my workouts with some ProStretch sessions. I feel truly blessed to have found the aptly named “Restoration” Fitness, and I look forward to consistent and continuing progress at RF.”

I compete in the Pan American Masters weightlifting championships within a month so my needs were for free weights and bumper plates. Pavillion has a fantastic set up with Hammer Strength half and full racks with weightlifting and deadlifting platforms. The locker rooms are great as well with no personal lock needed. Amazing facility and worth the minimal guest fee! Thank you Elk Grove Village for providing a great facility for the needs of your community!”

“I am a professional athlete and have been doing yoga on and off for years. Mainly out of state but have now lived in Illinois the last 5-6 years and I am so happy to have came across Melt Pilates & Hot Yoga! My first class was with Agnes. Her energy and verbal cueing are just tips of the iceberg when talking about her wonderful class. Iv taken other classes and have seen other instructors at various locations but Agnes’s class sits on top amongst them all. You feel her love and passion for yoga simply by listening to her speak and guiding you through her class. In the hour or hour and 15 minutes you have with her, she will not only take your body on a challenging and unique journey but also the ability to inspire your yogi soul! After taking my first class with her, she is the only instructor I prefer to take classes with and when I am out of town and take a yoga class elsewhere, I leave immediately thinking “it wasn’t like Agnes’s class”. It is hard to put into words the feeling I have when taking one of her classes, she is able to push you safely to limits you didn’t think you could reach, poses you were maybe not able to accomplish before and allows you to connect to your body in a way you have not done before. Leaving her class makes you a different person in the best way possible and makes you eager for more!”

“MAT has changed my life and it is all thanks to Charlie! As an MAT practitioner, myself, Charlie is one of the very best practitioners in our entire organization and no one I trust more with fixing my body and keeping me healthy!<br><br>8 years ago, Charlie fixed my severe lower back pain when 4 chiropractors, 2 MAT practitioners, 2 massage therapists, 1 fascial therapist, 1 acupuncturist, and traditional exercise & strengthening could NOT. If that's not proof, I don't know what is, lol.<br><br>1 year ago, I suffered a devastating neck injury - too painful to sit, walk, stand or lie down for extended periods of time. My x rays showed only muscle, joint inflammation, no disc damage or fractures, but I was a wreck. I contacted Charlie and have been flying to Chicago from Minnesota, regularly, ever since! “Update: I wrote my review prior to reading the other reviews. I have to say that I am shocked by the couple of negative reviews regarding FOCUS and NISRA. (And no-we are not getting a kickback for a favorable review-that is ridiculous.) We were on a waitlist through NISRA for a while before a spot opened up for our son. We were bummed, but understood that both entities needed to ensure that it was properly staffed for the number of participants. We attend each week with our son, and as stated below, could not be happier with the inclusive mindset of FOCUS. I also want to note that the NISRA volunteers work hard to get everyone to participate. We have never seen anyone left out. They are well staffed and highly qualified. Participants all work at their own level, but if a child is not participating, it is not for lack of trying on either end. Not all kids enjoy all activities and perhaps the child did not want to participate. We have recently moved to this area and could not be more pleased with the organization, cooperation and communication from NISRA. Everyone is human and mistakes can happen, but both organizations would likely be very happy to hear concerns in a constructive way. If you are considering NISRA or FOCUS, I highly recommend!<br><br>We have a son with a diagnosis of Down Syndrome who takes karate at Focus Martial Arts through NISRA. We cannot say enough about this amazing program. The owners and the instructors are among the most inclusive and welcoming people I have ever met. They genuinely care about kids and their progress. They break down concepts and skills so that our son understands, but they have high expectations for his growth. Our son has made improvements in karate, behavior, focus and school because of their leadership. We are so grateful and highly recommend!”
