“Breakthrough is just a great place to work out. I've been training there for 7 or 8 years now. Everyone who knows me knows I am not the most loyal person on earth, but I can say I will never leave Breakthrough unless it burns down. My trainer is Christmas. I don't think she is taking new clients but maybe she will if you beg. I've had some of the other staff or Tim (the owner) train me as substitutes, and they are all excellent. Every single session has been a deep challenge for me. As a result I am now the strongest I have ever been in my life. I have been forced to stop telling people how old I am (cough70cough) because people get angry and think I am lying. LOL how's that for a downside.“

“I've worked with a few trainers over the years, and Abu is, without a doubt, the most knowledgeable, effective, and fun to work with. I have a history of injuries, so I really appreciate Abu's beginning assessment. He really took the time to understand my concerns and my goals. His expertise as a chiropractor and trainer makes it so I'm able to train and not worry as much about reinjury due to his knowledge of the body and focus on form. And, if something where to happen, he'll know how to support me. Within three months of working with Abu, I was able to do a chin up, and, shortly after that, a pull up! I had pretty much given up on achieving that goal as it's one I've worked on for years to no avail. I am stronger, have more energy, and sleep better since training with Abu. Also like that he didn't assume weight loss was my goal as most trainers do. And he believes me if I say something hurts/doesn't feel right--and sometimes notices before I say anything. I wish this were more common amongst trainers, but, sadly, that's not been my experience. Abu has helped me have a healthier relationship with my body--I now have a lot more gratitude for what my body is capable of and feel proud of what I'm learning to do. Really couldn't ask for a better trainer. If you're looking for one--go see Abu!“

“I’ve been a member to several fitness clubs around Santa Rosa and hands down - Insight Fitness is my favorite spot to workout. The staff is kind, knowledgeable and the overall community they attract are all very supportive and encouraging. They have a great selection of equipment and their space is clean and well taken care of. I highly recommend stopping by for a visit and signing up for an introduction and getting a feel for it — You won’t be disappointed!!!“

“I wish I could give Sid more stars because 5 is just "great" but his training is excellent. After just a few weeks, I started recommending this place to everyone I knew because my back pain disappeared! It's not even the reason I started going here (reason was to get in shape and healthier), but it was a very happy side effect of Sid's gentle restorative approach to fitness. For years, I would toss and turn at night from back pain that gradually increased with each hour, sometimes getting me out of bed at 3 or 4am. If I didn't get out of bed when it got bad, then by morning I'd feel practically disabled, struggling to get out of bed with intense pain that felt like my back was going to break just sitting up. But after just a few weeks with Sid, I realized that I'd been sleeping well and popping right out of bed with no pain!!! It was so amazing, and I do credit that to Sid's restorative training approach.Sid's does personal one-on-one training in his own private gym, so there was never anyone else there using the gym at the same time, which was nice because the focus was 100% on helping ensure I was in the correct positions -- not squatting with my knees wrong, or pulling a stretch band with my elbows or shoulders in a damaging position, feet in correct position, etc. If anything was in a position that could cause injury working out that way, he would quickly let me know how to correct it -- and that was HUGE for me, because I know for a fact (from many workout injuries) that I am the type of person who works out incorrectly. Sid helped prevent that, letting me know if I was doing something correctly, or need to fix my position.But there is so much more! I wasn't expecting this, but he also talked to me each time about things like diet, and what I'm doing on my own time to ensure success, and why or why not certain things I'd been trying were (or weren't) effective at this time, at my current fitness level. He really helped me start thinking differently about what I was eating, how it was affecting my body's ability to function properly, how much and even when to eat, how even little tweaks in a restaurant order can save me the amount of calories equal to a one-hour workout. His information helped me decide to stop drinking one particular type of drink I'd often buy, and switch it for a much better one. I could send him questions any time, he is very responsive. He actually seems to genuinely care about you being successful, and is there to help. Sid was, in my experience, the absolute best kind of personal trainer I could ever hope for. I didn't even know they could be this good.Now, I personally tried Sid's personal training gym as a treat for myself for Christmas, as I can't normally afford such a thing. But I really need fitness help, and I liked his website -- it's focus on restorative exercise sounded exactly like what I needed, and I wanted to try it. So I did, and I can't wait until I can go back again! I do absolutely recommend Sid at Back to Fitness to anyone who can afford it because it was truly life-changing for me, and I learned so much even in the short time I was there, and my back still feels better (thank you so much, Sid!). I really can't wait to go back here again.“

“I first started seeing Michael almost 9 years ago when I injured my rib. I am now almost 33 years old. He helped me heal my rib through stretches and body work and completely changed the outlook on what kind of food I should be putting in my body. Fast forward some years I went on to have two kids and Michael helped me get into optimal shape for both of my pregnancies and heal from childbirth. “Laurel is the best! I have done Super Slow for over 10 years and when I found Fit, I knew I was in good hands. Laurel is the perfect blend of knowledgable, tough, encouraging, personable yet professional and fun! I know she will push me just hard enough but always keep my safety a priority. I love the group classes, everyone is so nice, inclusive, motivating, and share in each others personal gains. “With so many gym options in the Petaluma area, I am so thankful to have discovered Main Street Fitness and their super slow / high intensity training method! As someone who recently turned 40, and super busy with two jobs, I could tell that my strength and overall fitness was declining. Yet I enjoy physically demanding hobbies of ice hockey and backpacking, and so I knew I needed to do something to get my strength back up to speed. So, when I got a pass to try out this gym, I was pleasantly surprised to find that there is a science backed program (read Dr. Doug McGuff on this) that would allow me to accomplish my goals quickly with only one or two 20 minute workouts a week! Add to that the accountability and guidance of having a personal trainer (all their workout sessions are one-on-one with a personal trainer), and I’ve been noticing significant results now after only about 3 months on the program.“
