1323 NW 16th Ave, Portland“I have officially been training with Darius for a year now. My sessions twice a week have become a non-negotiable in my life!
I came in as a complete beginner and Darius was patient and taught me how to lift weights safely and correctly. The reassurance that my form is right and I am getting the most out of every movement is worth it. Even more so, I am learning so much about my own strength and body.
Furthermore, as someone who struggles with mental health, I have seen improvement with consistent weightlifting. I sleep better and feel more connected to my body.
Darius also has been able to help teach me good eating habits, hold me accountable for my goals, and encourage me in a safe space.
I have laughed, cried, and pushed myself in the gym here and become stronger than I ever thought I could be under the guidance of Darius.
The only thing I have left to say is thank you!!“

8502 SW Terwilliger Blvd, Portland“I was a member of an Anytime club in CT many years ago and one of the things that I like a lot is the size of this one. The one in CT was 1/4 the size. That being said the number of machines available for cardio and muscle are impressive! I am a very early attendee to the gym so I do not have contact with staff. However, if an issue arises it is addressed quickly by owner James! I will continue to recommend this gym to all that ask where I go.“

7922 SW Nimbus Ave #8, Beaverton“Review of PDX Muscle Gym – Beaverton, OR
I love working out and trying different local gyms and studios, and PDX Muscle really stood out. It’s a family-owned private gym and athletic training studio that recently went through a remodel and added more equipment—which was awesome to see.
I did a drop-in session, but they also offer monthly memberships, one-on-one training, group training, and nutrition planning. During my visit, I got the chance to talk with two of the trainers. They were incredibly knowledgeable—not just about fitness and training, but also about proper nutrition and hormone health. That kind of insight is exactly what I look for in a gym and in a trainer.
Nutrition and hormonal balance are key to real lifestyle changes. It’s not always about pushing heavy weights—it's about finding the right balance. I really appreciated the energy at PDX Muscle. The gym is clean, welcoming, and there are no cliques. Everyone was friendly, and you can tell the owners and staff genuinely know what they’re doing.
Highly recommend if you're serious about training smart and living healthier.“

4356 SW Multnomah Blvd, Portland“I love training at this gym! I work with Coach Jonathan in the small group training sessions, and it’s been awesome. Each class focuses on a different body part in segments, so with just two sessions a week, we’re able to cover both arms and legs — super efficient and effective.
One of the things I appreciate most is the flexibility. If I ever miss a class, it’s easy to jump into another session and make it up. All of the coaches are incredibly nice, supportive, and knowledgeable. They always provide helpful feedback on form and offer suggestions that push you to get stronger while staying safe. I feel challenged, motivated, and supported every time I walk in. Highly recommend!“

9923 SW Arctic Dr, Beaverton“I have been attending Adapt for almost a year and I can't recommend it highly enough. I have been able to return to running pain free and am moving so much better and am getting stronger! Amazing team and so supportive! This is the gym you go to for long term health- their focus is functional movement - if you are looking for a singular goal - like a Kardashian booty - this might not be the place for you. If you are looking for overall strength, mobility and movement for a lifetime - this is the place. There are people who have been going here for 10+ years. Lots of grey hairs and people moving well and strength training long into 60's, 70s and beyond. That inspires me and I want to be moving that well at that age! They also have a great youth athlete program to help fix those imbalances in those younger athletes.“

8230 SW Barbur Blvd, Portland“I met Katie shortly before I had knee surgery to repair tears on my meniscus. It had been about 6 months of regular pain, forcing me to refrain from running, working out, or even so much as doing a full body squat without pain and/or an unsettling click. Katie worked with me to identify the problems I was having and introduced me to a series of progressively more dynamic exercises to build up my mobility and strength to a level beyond where I was before my injury.Besides her mastery of physical therapy (and the fact that Katie is just an awesome person), these three things stood out to me the most:1: Katie uses a collaborative, educational approach to her work with her clients, and she is a fantastic instructor and coach. Moving my body in new ways was sometimes difficult, but her ability to articulate the exercises using auditory and visual cues was super helpful. Seeing something and hearing it in terms I understood made the process more enjoyable, and especially let me see why certain movements hurt, and how to improve upon them. Real-time cues while doing exercises also helped to hone in on the pieces I might be missing, and especially the pieces I was doing well. Both helped tremendously.2: Katie is extremely patient. Again, moving my body in new ways was sometimes difficult, which often left me spinning my wheels as I tried to get the movements right. Not once did she even remotely seem frustrated or impatient as I struggled. Instead, she showed enthusiasm for even the smallest improvements, and celebrated all of my little wins. It made learning and getting stronger a pleasant experience that motivated me each step of the way. Katie’s office is a safe place that fosters improvement in surprising ways.3: Katie is an empathic practitioner who understands your pain, and truly wants you to get better and be your best self. Knowing that she was on my side, seeing her celebrate my little wins, all of it. Katie made my pain feel understood from the first day, and inspired me to have confidence in both my progress and my potential once I was back in action.I highly recommend Katie for anyone who is ready to feel good in their body. She’s a treasure.“

Ami immediately made me feel comfortable and supported. She meets me where I’m at, never pressures me to lift beyond my ability, and keeps me motivated with constant encouragement.
After just two sessions, I already feel stronger and more confident. Highly recommend Ami if you want a supportive and knowledgeable trainer!“

He’s very patient, down to earth, and has helped me understand my body on a new level. I starting coming here after a few years of neglecting my body and feeling like I had lost control over my weight. Nathan immediately met me where I was at and started showing me the path to take my body back. 5 months in and my body is feeling and working better than it has in years. I would highly recommend coming here to anyone looking to level up their fitness game, Nathan will help get you there.“

1644 SE Clatsop St, Portland“I have taken movement classes and received massage from Anne. She is fantastic! In classes, she explains the movements in a way that is easy to understand and is more than happy to help explain further when needed. When it comes to massage, she explains how pain manifesting in one area can be related to injury or weakness in other areas. It helps to understand how all the parts of the body work together and she will also offer suggestions of things to do to strengthen areas to help ease pain.“

“In November 2025 I began taking Small Group Training classes at Fit Alliance. I had previously worked with personal trainers at a large, corporatized gym and it was never very satisfying so I stopped going a number of years ago. Now, as a senior, I was looking for a small gym where I could feel like part of a “community” that helps inspire each other to better health and fitness, and who also have a little fun in the process. I am very happy with my decision to join. Jordan and Lisa – the owners – bring joy and great energy to the gym and they clearly love what they do. Fred and Ben are excellent class leaders. Even after just four months I am seeing clear results in my strength level. I encourage anyone looking for a supportive community that will help foster better health to join Fit Alliance.“
