Great people, great place and most important great cuts. I always leave it up the mom to figure my hair out and always receive compliments from folks. Tip well, they’re cheap and haven’t raised prices in forever. Male cut for 12$ is 1990’s pricing!!

Nice clean shop. Tattooist was friendly. I haven't gotten my tattoo yet, but will be driving back from Indianapolis to get it done from these guys for sure. The price I was given was very reasonable.
My family loves Appalachian Ink and Ruby. My husband and I started there with an infinity tattoo. His was simple and bold, mine delicate and fine lined. They both turned out perfectly! So when my son turned 18 a few months ago and was ready for his first tattoo…there was no other place we wanted him to go. Jimmy did an amazing job. The details were absolutely insane and he nailed everything that my son wanted to accomplish. Today we went back for more. My husband got an incredible wolf and it’s so perfect and boldly detailed. I had Ash today and she did an amazing job on my memorial piece. I wanted a simple name written in my daddy’s handwriting. She was so supportive and comforting during the process. We never want to go anywhere else! Any time someone asks about tattoos- we will 100% continue recommending Appalachian Ink and will keep on getting more amazing work done by their artists.

The first of this year 2026, my fireplace malfunctioned and spit soot all over my home. After hiring a local company that completely let me down leaving my home covered in soot, I hired Maury and his crew to come help me. Tracy, John and Horatio showed up and together the worked as an awesome team! They cleaned every corner of my home leaving noting untouched. We are in the middle of our build with AHP. So far we are satisfied. Shawna and Kathryn were great with the start of the sale and picking colors and everything else that comes with it. I have known Bret Covher, Owner of Carolina Builders Services, since about 2003 which is around the time he started his business. He is now one of the largest Builders in the area. In my development, Featherstone, (56 – Lots average size 3.2ac.) Bret built 2, high end, upscale Timber Frame homes starting in 2006 (+/-). Since then, Bret has built 7 more for a total of 9 and is getting ready to start another one in a couple weeks which will be a total of 10. Many of these homes are very high end. In addition, I hired Bret to work on my personal residence starting in 2013 and have had him come back out on two separate occasions after that to do some substantial upgrades. Why? Because Bret is good, fair, a straight shooter, creative, easy to work with and has become a dear friend.
As the Developer of the Featherstone Community, Franklin, NC., I sell all my Lots myself, so I get to meet and know my Buyers personally. I am often asked to recommend a builder. My first and standard response to that question is; “I don’t like to recommend anybody because often people love their builder at first then by the end of the project they want to hang them”. So, what I do is give my Buyers 2-4 builder names, let them know that I personally have used Bret and let them take it from there. If I had to guess, my Buyers have chosen Bret and Carolina Builders 90% of the time.
Building is a BIG undertaking! There will be problems that come up. There are so many decisions and situations that arise; people, weather, subcontractors, suppliers, delays etc. It’s the nature of the business. What you need is a builder who will call you back, give his best efforts to quickly solve the problems, work closely with you and handle the situation. I personally have found that Bret and his site Managers are top notch! People are people. We all have our personalities and often have problems with each other. My advice to anyone is to find someone you can work with, will treat you fairly and get stuff done! For me, Bret and his crew fit the bill.
As for Bret personally, I give him my full trust and plan to continue to use and recommend him and his great crew. You will no doubt be impressed with Bret’s creativity and his ability to walk you through the project. The guy really has great vision and has come up with many great ideas for me and for that I am thankful! Give Bret and Carolina Builder Services a chance and I believe you will be very happy you did!

Mendoza Tree Expert did an outstanding job removing a very difficult pine that was leaning and overhanging my neighbor’s property below us. Juventino Mendoza was professional, easy to work with, and gave us what I felt was a very fair quote. Max and his crew arrived early and immediately set to work. Watching them was incredible — every cut was precise, every piece was roped and guided safely back onto our property, and every drop landed exactly where they intended.
Our neighbor watched from her back balcony almost directly underneath the tree and was so impressed she asked for their phone number. We are extremely relieved and grateful for the skill and care they brought to this job.

I have always been a big baby when it comes to going to the dentist. Imagine my dismay when I moved to a small town in Western North Carolina recently and needed to find a new dentist. Dr. David Oliver was the one I chose. The office Was welcoming and very clean. The office staff and dental hygienists were very personable and made me feel at ease. Shout out to Aaron and Tiffany for putting up with my anxiety. Dr.Oliver Is super laid back and just a cool guy. He has an assortment of record albums and a record player in his procedure room. I got to pick which album I wanted to listen to while he worked on fixing my crown. We both agreed on an 80s rock genre! I had so much fun talking with him and bonding over music that I wasn’t even nervous through the procedure. This is a huge win for me. I’m actually looking forward to my next visit. The wonderful office staff filed my insurance claim for me. Delta Dental was in network for this office. I’m so glad that I chose Dr. David Oliver as my new dentist.
