“I have known Bret Covher, Owner of Carolina Builders Services, since about 2003 which is around the time he started his business. He is now one of the largest Builders in the area. In my development, Featherstone, (56 – Lots average size 3.2ac.) Bret built 2, high end, upscale Timber Frame homes starting in 2006 (+/-). Since then, Bret has built 7 more for a total of 9 and is getting ready to start another one in a couple weeks which will be a total of 10. Many of these homes are very high end. In addition, I hired Bret to work on my personal residence starting in 2013 and have had him come back out on two separate occasions after that to do some substantial upgrades. Why? Because Bret is good, fair, a straight shooter, creative, easy to work with and has become a dear friend.

As the Developer of the Featherstone Community, Franklin, NC., I sell all my Lots myself, so I get to meet and know my Buyers personally. I am often asked to recommend a builder. My first and standard response to that question is; “I don’t like to recommend anybody because often people love their builder at first then by the end of the project they want to hang them”. So, what I do is give my Buyers 2-4 builder names, let them know that I personally have used Bret and let them take it from there. If I had to guess, my Buyers have chosen Bret and Carolina Builders 90% of the time.

Building is a BIG undertaking! There will be problems that come up. There are so many decisions and situations that arise; people, weather, subcontractors, suppliers, delays etc. It’s the nature of the business. What you need is a builder who will call you back, give his best efforts to quickly solve the problems, work closely with you and handle the situation. I personally have found that Bret and his site Managers are top notch! People are people. We all have our personalities and often have problems with each other. My advice to anyone is to find someone you can work with, will treat you fairly and get stuff done! For me, Bret and his crew fit the bill.

As for Bret personally, I give him my full trust and plan to continue to use and recommend him and his great crew. You will no doubt be impressed with Bret’s creativity and his ability to walk you through the project. The guy really has great vision and has come up with many great ideas for me and for that I am thankful! Give Bret and Carolina Builder Services a chance and I believe you will be very happy you did!
